Best pizza in Hayward by far. We have a cabin in cable so frequent trips to Hayward occur and coops is always a staple. If we come for dinner the go to is usually a pepperoni and mushroom pizza with their wings (which are huge!!). But if you go for lunch the buffet is awesome- includes pizza, salad bar, soup, and breadsticks. Their French onion soup is incredible. Saturday, July 5th at 5:25 pm we placed an order for 2 pizzas for pick up. I was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived at coops at 6:00 pm I paid for the pizza and waited for an hour. No pizza was brought out to me. I asked what was going on and was told they didn't know. They asked for my cell number and said they would call when the pizza was ready. 30 minutes later I received a call that the pizza were ready. When I picked them up I asked if they would compensate me since I had to wait 2 hours for my pizza including leaving and coming back for it. A manager was called over and said there was nothing they would do as this happens in July. When my family finally got the pizza they said it was good, so no complaints there. I'm just really disappointed that I had to wait so long since they apparently lost my order. read more

We usually get a pizza on our way out of town to head back home from vacation. I recently developed an intolerance to gluten but was happy to see Coops had a gluten free pizza crust. They open at 11 am and I called about 10.45 and my pizza was Ready by 11:10 am. Service was fast and Friendly. I was just going to order the one 10 inch gluten free pizza but my husband talked me into ordering two. I got them both the same with black olives, onions, green pepper and sausage. The first one covered lunch and dinner on the way home and the second one the same for the next day. They were delicious and satisfied me greatly. I make cauliflower pizza crust and have tried the fat heads homemade keto crusts and ground chicken crusts but this gluten free crust was the closest I've had to the regular crusts. The wait staff was very friendly, we sat on the bar side by the game room for our little guy. I had the California bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious and my son ate all his chicken tenders(he's a picky eater and ate everything)and my husband got the gangway sandwich nice big turkey and bacon sandwich. I have been visiting Coop's each year for the past 20+ years since I was a child, always a highlight of our travels with my parents among other tourist attractions. My family and I drove over 3 hours to take our kids to a relic of my childhood. What a disappointment to discover that they believe the pandemic doesn't apply to them. None of the servers, hostesses, anyone - was wearing so much as a face shield. In fact, over 90% of the patrons were wearing one, most seeing the staff situation and then requesting an outside table. How are they not getting the message here?? STAY AWAY if you want to stay healthy. read more

On our way home from vacation we had one last dinner with the family. I ordered the corn dogs and the #4 pizza special individual size. The pizza came out steaming hot and great flavor. Go on a week day!!! This buffet delivers a great culinary experience as well as deliver a old timey vibe as well. I'd recommend getting the egg rolls and the chicken strips. While my family and friends were vacationing in Hayward a few weeks ago, we decided to grab some dinner at Coop's Pizza one of the nights and it was a disaster. Everything started out okay, we walked in.....We had four adults and three children, so we needed a big table so we suggested their big table by the aquarium, (our kids love fish), and they gave me some comment about how 'we are going to get busy here soon so I don't know if we want to give that table away'. Are you kidding me? We are spending the same, if not more money than another family that will be sitting in the exact same table. That just pissed me off a bit from the get go. We all put our orders in and had to wait a long time, probably 20 minutes, to get just one of the food items delivered to our table. Then the other items trickled in for a little while after that. My friend cancelled his order because he ate his side of soup and everyone else was done eating before he got the appetizer he ordered. Ridiculous. I got the Italian sausage sandwich, which I thought was going to be Italian sausage links on a hoagie with cheese, peppers, and sauce. What I got was a ground Italian sausage sandwich, hamburger-style with a side of marinara sauce and some fries. Pathetic. The plain cheese was at best a four out of ten. Very flour-y and cheesey, whereas I perfer a more buttery crust. Our waters also had a soda-y aftertaste, like the drink machine wasn't separating the two. My friends who got the buffalo chicken pizza gave it a seven, so maybe just avoid the plain cheese. Not for us. The pizza has a thinner cracker crust but was kind of difficult to bit through sometimes. The pizza sauce was a little too much on the sweet side for my liking. We did the lunch buffet and it really is a good deal. Salad bar was well stocked and the pasta salad was great. Soup was included as well (French onion and clam chowder). Casual Up North ambience with a cool fish tank, great 80's music. Nice clean large restaurant with tables and booths to choose from. Lots of choices on menu from pizza to fried chicken dinners to sandwiches. Good selection of appetizers and beer, wine and mixed drinks. The pizza had a really good amount of cheese, sauce was just right, not too spicy, and nice crisp medium crust. We ordered the #4 and asked for the mushrooms on only half of the pizza but they could not do that for us. ??So the pizzas are not freshly made?? Great pizza when you're up at the lake or staying in NW Wisconsin. Easy drive from Minong and Spooner and worth the extra miles. Full menu of burgers, sandwiches and lunch/dinner. Salad bar is small but adequate. Weekly buffet lunch specials. Pizza is above average with a great variety of toppings and a puffy yet not too yeasty crust. We went here twice on our 2 week stay in Hayward and both times we were tremendously let down. We all got different things on the menu and everything was very bland and dry and just not good in general. The 2nd time we came here the family next to us waited an hour and a half for there food and never got it. Our food came out about 15 minutes separate from each other. They weren't even busy either so I don't know what the delay was. Everything is very overpriced as well, 11.50 for cheese curds and 17 for a beef sandwich that was about 5 inches long. Not worth it at all. Plenty of better places to eat in Hayward like Riverstreet Family Restaurant or Anglers Bar and Grill. Will never be coming back here. read more

The pizza, to my liking was not edible. The dough tasted like a biscuit and was bland. Maybe the pizza didn't come out right because we have eaten there before and it was good. When we asked The hostess, if there was anything she could do, she got defensive. Also, I felt it was overpriced, feel bad paying $15 for a 10 inch pizza that was not cooked right. The best pizza I've ever had! Literally this place is a family owned business with 3 people working. They crank out the best pizza ever. It is comparable to the slices in NYC. The staff is also super friendly and do their best to accommodate. They are really busy so show up an hour before to order. It will be worth the wait. read more
