Wi Jammin Carribean has two spots- one is a restaurant and the other is a cafe. Both have different menus. I finally got a chance to try the restaurant today because I was craving ox tail. I am so happy I did! I got a small plate of oxtail with peas and rice, plantains and cabbage. Absolutely delicious! The oxtail were on the small side but for a lunch plate, I think it was fine. The peas and rice were seasoned well, and had the oxtail sauce poured on it. Cabbage with carrots were also very good. The small plate that was around $25 was big enough for two servings. I also got the pineapple ginger! Very refreshing and went well with my lunch. Your order over the counter and the food is served in a to-go box. The dining area is cozy, lots of shaded sunlight coming in from the front window. Reggae was playing in the background. The women who worked behind the counter were nice. For a weekday during lunch hour, a steady stream of customers come by for pickup so there are ample seats. Well I forgot to take pics but I can't not leave a review here. Walked in to "see the menu" and the vibe was right. Exactly what you'd expect and hope for from a Jamaican restaurant. The menu had all of the essentials that you would want, and daily specials. On Fridays they serve curry cow foot. I gave it a go. I also ordered a side of oxtail and a side of veggies. I would've preferred a 2 meat combo which they didn't offer, (only bummer about this place) I also ordered a beef patty. Everything was delicious, the cow foot wasn't really for me but I'm glad I tried it, the taste was great but the texture would make me not order again. The oxtails were some of the best I've ever had. I should really leave a follow up review next time I visit because consistency is a big deal for me, but as it stands now, 5/5. Classic Jamaican restaurant that serves food in to go boxes only but does have tables there for you to sit and enjoy your meal at if you so desire... I've only had jerk chicken here and the last time was over 10 years ago, so I did not remember it. Ordering it today with a girlfriend did not instill confidence that the other dishes offered here would be great. The jerk chicken plate in the large size that we shared came with cabbage salad and some form of Jamaican dirty rice. The chicken was cooked appropriately, smoky and dry, with a pleasant looking brown skin, but that wonderful scotch bonnet glaze and sauce that we all expect atop good jerk chicken was sorely missing... Just a very little bit was glazed to the skin. The rice was smoky and had the nice salt flavor one would expect of a dirty rice or a Jamaican rice but it was a little one-dimensional. The cabbage was rather flavorless but had nice crunch. I prefer plantains that are sweet and these were not. There was no festival bread or anything extra to go with the meal. I have ordered from Wi Jammin many times on Uber eats, and I will be a forever customer! The food always arrives hot, securely packaged, and exactly as I ordered! I don't know much about the ambiance of the restaurant, because I never dined in. However, their takeout is A1! I ALWAYS get the oxtails and ground food. There's nothing like the ground food. It perfectly complements the oxtail. The oxtail is always extremely tender and melts in your mouth! I wish I could eat this every day. See my photos. The rice was decent, but it was a bit uneven; half of it was generously covered in gravy while the other half was quite dry, so I'd rate it a 3/5. On the bright side, the salad was fresh and tasty, earning a solid 5/5. The plantains were delicious, but I would have loved to see more of them--perhaps adding a couple more pieces and slightly reducing the rice portion would make for a better balance. I don't know if they work there or not but there's no way to get in thru the front. The men hanging outside directed me to the side of the building. The food is good. The high prices charged for the portions serve is decent. The ambiance is very basic. The colors throughout the restaurant surely give you a Jamaican vibe. The service is mediocre. The staff are middle age Jamaican employees that have no training. If they know you they tend to be kinder. They treat their customers cold and certainly very blunt when answering your questions . They almost make you feel as a customer, that they are doing you a favor to serve you. Please DO NOT GO THIS ESTABLISHMENT WITHOUT CASH. They will treat you like a homeless begging for food. They become very dismissive. Sadly there's no sign up whatsoever to indicate that they do not accept credit card payments . They even have a Credit Card sign up below their little window by their drinks cooler, promoting the acceptance of credit cards. The way they take orders and payments is very old school. No POS system and only accepting cash, makes one question if they are legitimately paying all their taxes . I understand that sometimes the credit cards fees could be high but they have been operating for years now and should be more accommodating to their customers. Who carry cash quite honestly in this time and age? For the management, please improve your business practices and be more welcoming to the people you serve and start accepting credit cards or be more transparent on all websites and in your restaurant that you do not accept credit card payments. The Jerk Chicken here is spicier than the usual with extra chili peppers. The Veggie Plate is very hearty and flavorful as well as the Curry Goat. The small size portions are quite generous. Heard their Ackee & Saltfish is delicious, but they were out of it this day. :( They also have some beverages that are Jamaican favorites such as Ting, Honey Punch and Pineapple Ginger. It was So good, but I don't know if it compares to the ox tails I've had from my Haitian people in Miami.
