Homemade Sorrel, 32 oz. Just buy the bottled version
    Pillar T.

The food was tasty but some of the oxtails were VERY small. Their home made sorrel was meh. I caught them slipping because the customer service was almost friendly. I will order again from them.

Chicken was burnt, customer service was not what I expected... smh

Burnt chicken food was not all that. Customer service sucks. I will make this the last place to go to.

    Large Oxtail. Always delicious.

The food is always great. Love the cook. Oxtails, jerk chicken, curry chicken, goat on point.

    Curried goat

Small, Hole-in-the-wall with BIG flavor!! Curried goat was fire!! Plantain was great! Portions were huge! The beef patties were excellent! A must try if you like Caribbean food! My only issue is I would have had to wait too long for shrimp!

Salt Ackee and Saltfish Breakfast with Callaloo

I came in wanting to try the stew fish but since that wasn't available I went to another favorite. When I opened my container I thought that it wasn't a lot of food but by time I finished it was more than enough. When I tell you that salt fish and Ackee was bursting with flavor, literally it goes right in 'the best I've ever had' category.' Same for the Callaloo. And the ground food was on that melt in your mouth tip . The festival was so absolutely delicious, that I had to fight the fat girl in me not to get some to go. Just delightful dining on a chill Sunday Afternoon. Definitely will be back.

Looking from the outside this place is a bit sketchy. I'm not going to lie I was nervous about getting out. The service was good and the food was very authentic. The jerk chicken was a little spicy for me but very good. You know it was spicy, if I said it was spicy, because I love me some spicy food.

    Large Oxtail Dinner

Food had a burnt flavor, oxtail was dry and had no gravy. Festival was stale and soggy. Paid $47 for this. Never again

I got the Jerk Chicken lunch. The jerk sauce didn't taste right. It was salty and sour. I won't be returning. $18 waste.

When I walked up to the counter I was happy to see that their warmer was full of beef, chicken and veggie patties. I ordered a couple of beef and chicken patties. When I got home OMG so good. I ate the beef and shared the others and everyone said that they were so good. Definitely coming back to get more and the price is not bad at all. There is a huge parking lot so you don't have to worry about finding Parking. They have tables inside where you can eat. Service was very good.

I shared with her it was my first time and she was patient as I looked over the menu before placing my order. I love the vibe of the restaurant. The cook was back there singing and cooking his a$$ off tho lol. It was a cool first time experience. Got back to my car and began eating. The oxtails were really good especially with that gravy. Nice and tender. The gravy with the rice and peas was good also. The steamed veggies were fresh. I don't care for plantains so I swapped it out for another festival. I love them. Just wish they were bigger lol. Price point, for $27.56 it's a lot of food and it's really good. So it's worth it to me. It wasn't a long wait either. A few folks ordered before I did and after.

There is a small parking lot in the back whose entrance is on Vernon. When Elite Yelper Isobel L. & I got out of the car, we could smell the wondrous aroma of jerk chicken in the smoker smelling of Jerk seasoning, chicken meat & fat along with heavy smoke of Mesquite charcoal. The gentleman manning the BBQ definitely knows what he is doing. The interior is mostly standard fast food furnishings, but with padded lounge chairs in green, yellow, black, the colors of the Jamaican national flag. It's belly up to the counter for great slow, fast food. Customers seemed to be speaking Jamaican Créole or Patois, and some employees sang along to Jamaican tunes that added to the atmosphere and transported us to the Caribbean. Also, it's good to patronize local businesses to benefit the community and local economy to keep more money flowing in the community. 1) The impressive scent of cooking Jerk Chicken made both of us order this iconic Jamaican dish which comes in small or large size. The Jerk Chicken must have been marinated in the complex, spicy, piquant marinade for hours to keep the meat moist at the same time meaty and firm. The fatty skin of the chicken adds a richness while the strong Mesquite smoking gives off wild, feral, primitive delight. It's the best I have ever had in South Central back in the day as well as in Leimert Park. If Jerk Chicken is your thing, I highly recommend Wah Gwaan hands down. 1a) Soft yet touch al dente cabbage seems braised in light chicken broth with a little flavourful chicken fat and/or butter and touch of sweetness. 1b) Festival is a small cruller which is highly dense like a Beignet and fried in oil scented by other frying meats. 1c) Red Beans and Rice: Rather dry, nutty and friable rice subtly flavored by the earthy legume. 1d) Fried, thick cut plantain banana slices are plain, sweet, starchy, firm to contrast against the spicy Jerk. 1e) Small ramekin of dark, spicy, fruity Jerk sauce had a Worcestershire sauce component. If the chicken wasn't flavourful enough, dipping it in the sauce will do the trick. After we had eaten and were about to leave, Chef Mark came out to greet us. He asked us to wait and presented us with a Sea Moss beverage. It was thick, viscous probably from the seaweed that had been herbed and sweetened. He highly touted Sea Moss as having healthful benefits. I believe him since healthful Japanese food also uses many gifts from the sea. If I see any benefits from Sea Moss, I will definitely return as well as satisfying my craving for his inimitable Jerk Chicken. Chef Mark creates his own magic with a knowledgeable, deft cooking style and extending his warm, perceptive hospitality and warmth to his customers. Truly appreciate his kindness and thoughtfulness. 5 stars
