The food was absolutely amazing! It took me about 5 minutes to have my order taken. The food came out after about 15 minutes which was great. I enjoyed seeing the black posters on the wall and the restaurant was open and calming. The oxtails were fire! The rice and peas along with the plantains were on point, and the beef patty was delicious! I would definitely recommend if you're looking for some amazing Jamaican food!

Street parking was easy to find on a Sunday afternoon. The prices are very reasonable. I ordered the large oxtails with sorrel for $34. This establishment seems to be heavily takeout. The dining area was unkempt. The service was friendly and helpful. I wiped down a table near the entrance to eat my food. This place is busy with takeout orders. I was the only person dinning in. My oxtails were seasoned very well but were not tender. The cabbage was delicious, I would come back for it. Nothing special about the rice and beans they were good. I would order here again and not get the oxtails and make it togo.

Ordered oxtail with steamed rice and a garden salad, meal also included a side of plantain via Uber eats. Not pictured is a small red peas soup. As a Jamaican I know good Jamaican food and so does this restaurant. The food was seasoned deliciously. My only complaint of the oxtail is that there was still fat on it. I also wish the garden salad was separated from the hot foods. I can't speak on service in person, but in the past they will sometimes call if I order something they just ran out of to go through options. This level of service is appreciated. This restaurant is my go to when ordering Jamaican food in LA. Def recommend.

This restaurant is NEXT LEVEL. The flavor is immaculate, every single item on the menu is bomb! From start to finish, it's nothing but flavor explosions that leave you wanting more. The vibe is just as good as the food, and honestly everyone needs to try this spot at least once in their life. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!!

Stopped in after my partner suggested the location. She swore it was delicious and in fact was correct. We ordered the oxtails and curry goat. Everything was perfect, flavorful, falling right off the bone and spicy! The curry goat especially, too good and just kept on eating. Came in hungry and left overfly full. Service was great. Staff was friendly and playing with the children in our table.

Bones & Bull but was supposed to be a large oxtail plate. I was expecting the oxtails to be in the large portion

Worst Caribbean food I ever had. Wi Jammin count your days the oxtails were giving neckbones not much meat. This is supposed to be a large oxtail plate for $30 but it's more dry rice and peas than anything. The cabbage was decent, but the oxtails were bland full of bones and fat. I will never order here again. I can only imagine what the jerk chicken taste like it's probably horrible now I gotta go find some oxtails cause I'm still hungry

I've heard about Wi Jammin for a while and finally decided to try it last night as I just moved into my new place and was too tired to cook. I ordered on Doordash and the delivery didn't take too long. My order: Jerk chicken plate (large) Rice & peas Steamed cabbage Fried plantains Everything had an overpowering level of spice, only balanced by the sweetness of the plantains. The rice & peas also had a weird aftertaste like someone added cinnamon to it. Great portions... if I'd wanted to continue eating it. Perhaps I could try a different protein, however the sides were just not good. Not sure I'll try again.

I was visiting someone and got hungry. Wanted to grab and go. Simple and quick, so I stopped here. I wanted two beef patties, but after she said 5.00, I was like, let me get one just in case I don't like it. The beef patties were good, fresh, hot, and flavor was great! Oh, and it's cash only

I've been here plenty of times now and love the staff as well as the party vibe ambiance especially when watching Haiti compete in the World Cup. Oh and can't forget my fave the pikliz!!! I haven't been to Haiti, but the owners are from there and brought their unique spices and flavors to Los Angeles. Whether I'm getting take-out or dining in, this food definitely hits the spot!

I got an oxtail plate, with djon djon & bannan peze. It also came with a little bit of salade russe (Haitian potato salad), pikliz, and sauce. The diri djon djon was so flavorful, definitely my favorite thing on the plate. The oxtail was seasoned well and pretty tender. The pikliz was good, pretty mild so I could enjoy it all. I tried some griot and thought it could have marinated longer. The portions felt very huge. The service here is really friendly and accommodating. The food came put after not too long of a wait and it was hot. The space is cool. It looks like an old diner. There's konpa playing in the background and games like Uno & Dominos available if you want to play. We also got two Haitian beef patties to go. They're legit! Came with pikliz and another sauce I never had before, it was green with a bit of spice and tang. The main downside is the location. It was fine in the daytime, but at night I wouldn't want to be alone as a woman here. That's just me though. Parking is metered on the street ($6/hr)

Came here for dinner this week, on our way to see Rosalía at the Inglewood Forum. Found it on Yelp…read more(thanks Yelp!). This area is not familiar to us at all, and we don't normally eat (for us) exotic cuisine. But, we were in the mood to try something new, so we stopped here. It's a colorful, cheerful little place. I think there are only like 4 tables. Apparently, it is mostly takeout. This became evident when our food was "served". We ordered a large two-meat plate and two large fried chicken plates. The two meats were "brown stew chicken" and curry goat. The meat is served in thick savory gravy/sauce. The "plates" are served with rice and fried plantains. The brown stew chicken was good. The curry goat was really good. Here's where the experience really veered sharply from our normal dining experience. The "plates" were served in takeout fold-over boxes with plastic forks. The meat itself was pretty much all adhered to bones. It was tender and delicious, but eating with our hands doesn't come naturally. So, I asked for a knife, and the sweet woman who takes the orders looked at me and said they don't have knives, and that we "just have to dig down into it". Indeed. She did give me a second plastic fork though, which I used. Nice workers. Authentic food. Huge portions. New experience which we all enjoyed.

A big fan of island -Dominican food although it was overpriced compared to what you Can get it for on the east coast but what ever.. I went back to the counter to ask for hot sauce and the cashier told me it was a 1$ for hot sauce.. I said really? The owner, walked over very politely with a straight face and said we don't eat hot sauce on the island so it's going to cost 1$ What does one have anything to do with the other? I didn't understand her logic. I paused for a second and she said so would u like some hot sauce? It was some bottled generic hot sauce not even house made. I declined to order. The food was pre cooked , set in a steamer. Fast casual restaurant with a few tables Food was bland and subpar.

Stopped by Karibbean Cuisine after seeing an Instagram review and was looking forward to having…read moresome good Dominican food, especially because it reminded me of my summers spent with family in New York and visiting the DR. When I got on Yelp, I saw mixed reviews, especially comments about a woman being rude or having a bad attitude. Thankfully, we did not have that experience directly. I did briefly see her come out from the kitchen, we caught eyes, and she walked back inside. The ambiance was ok, good music , no customers at the time, but a few tables were dirty. The young man cleaned it right away . To be fair, I don't think the issue is primarily the young man taking the orders. He was kind, apologetic, and seemed to care, but the overall operation felt unorganized. Our order was incorrect three separate times. First, the drink order was wrong, but he fixed it and apologized. Second, we paid extra for mayo ketchup and garlic sauce in small 1 oz containers, but they were not placed on our tray, so we had to get up and ask for them. Again, he apologized. Then, when we received our tray, he let us know they had run out of lettuce and gave us potato beet salad instead, without offering us an option first. We ordered the goat stew plate and the grilled chicken plate, both served in to-go containers. For the plates, you get your protein, then a choice of green salad or potato beet salad, along with either white rice or moro rice, which is rice cooked with beans. We chose the moro rice. I've had Caribbean/Dominican food many times before, and it is usually packed with flavor, so I was honestly surprised that this was bland. This definitely feels like a coaching opportunity for the cook to taste the food throughout the cooking process, because a little seasoning and balance can make a huge difference. The grilled chicken portion was generous, and the plantains were delicious. The guanábana/soursop drink was also delicious, and the tamarindo had good flavor, though it had a lot of pulp/flesh in the cup. That said, the chicken and onion sauce were very bland and needed salt. For the prices being charged, the guest experience should feel more polished. Our total came out to $78 for two plates, two drinks, a small side of beans, and plantains. Pretty costly for what we received. Another thing that stood out was the napkins. When we asked for more, we were only given two additional napkins, which felt very stingy, especially when eating saucy dishes like goat stew. It just didn't feel like the best way to treat guests. As a chef and food safety professional, I also noticed behaviors that need coaching, including apron use when going into the restroom, lack of visible handwashing afterward, and bare-hand contact after scratching the head before touching food containers. These are important food safety habits that should be reinforced immediately. Overall, Karibbean Cuisine has good flavor potential and generous portions, but they need stronger operational structure, better order accuracy, improved guest communication, and tighter food safety practices. At this time, I personally would not come back, but I do wish them all the best in their business. I hope they take this feedback as constructive criticism and apply it in a way that helps the restaurant grow, improve the guest experience, and build long-term guests. If I see changes in the future, I would gladly give them another try. Until then, I truly wish them success.

After craving Jamaican food for what feels like forever, I finally decided to search Yelp on my way…read morehome from working in LA and came across The Taste of the Caribbean in Long Beach - and wow, this hit the spot in a way I've been missing for too long. For context, I've always loved Jamaican food and even have family who make incredible, authentic dishes, but I haven't had anything close to that in a year. So my expectations? High. My craving? Even higher. I ordered the jerk chicken dinner with peas & rice and cabbage medley, and some plantains - to go. First off, the service was amazing. The woman who helped me was genuinely warm and welcoming, and you can tell she cares about what she's serving. When I ordered, she asked if I wanted the jerk sauce on the side and made sure I was okay with the spice level when I said no. That attention to detail matters. The food came out quickly (it was mid-afternoon and not busy), and everything stayed warm all the way home--which is always a win for takeout. Now let's talk about the food: The portion was generous, the flavors were on point, and everything tasted fresh. The jerk chicken had that perfect smoky, spicy kick - exactly what I was hoping for. The rice and peas and cabbage medley were a great balance to the heat, and the plantains were sweet and perfectly cooked. I did notice another review complaining about the spice level being too high... and honestly, I had to laugh a little. Have you had jerk chicken before? It's supposed to be spicy - that's the whole point. Personally, that comment is part of what made me choose this place, and it delivered. If you don't like spice, jerk might not be your thing - but I'm sure there are milder options if you ask. Bonus: they offer online ordering and delivery through Uber Eats and Postmates, which makes it even easier to get your fix. Overall, this place brought back the flavors I've been missing for so long. I'll absolutely be back - and probably sooner rather than later.
