    Hawaiian omelette
    Anne L.

My daughter, grandson and myself were playing tourist in Belfast today and stopped in Tracies Diner around lunch time. They serve breakfast all day which is really nice - and my daughter and I took advantage of that. I got the Hawaiian omelette, which has ham, Swiss and pineapple.... I got it because I because I have never seen that on any other menu! It was really good and I would order it again! It came with home fries that were really well done and crispy which I loved - my daughter would have preferred that they were not as crispy but she ate everything on her plate with her egg and cheese sandwich. The hot dog my grandson ordered was a crazy red color but my grandson devoured it and I have to say that the fries he got with his meal were probably the best fries I have ever had. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside without being greasy.... Those rate 5 stars by themselves. All in all / the service was good and the ambiance is a throwback to an old timey diner.... We loved it and highly recommend it. Bon Appetite!

You can find Traci's Diner at 57 Main St, Belfast, ME 04915 at the intersection of Washington St - about half way up the hill where Belfast resides from the harbor. There seems to be a lot of street parking and also a few scattered lots here-and-there. We walked the nearby Armistice Bridge winding down the Train Trail and back to the Belfast Harbor walk, finally winding up the street to take a look at this picaresque town. Looking for something simple to fill our bellies, our local host suggested Traci's as he'd eaten there several times in the past. Traci's occupies what appears to be a local house that's expanded over time - there's an upper seating area with a counter and a lower room for additional seating. The interior is painted white and kelly green with polkadots - very whimsical. The available dishes are what I think of as traditional lunch/diner plates and sandwiches, breakfast all day with a few seafood items thrown in. I asked for tea and to my surprise they had an excellent southern-style sweet tea (seems someone there had spent time in the south so they made it right and fresh). For lunch we each had sandwiches and fries - mine was a pastrami reuben that was pretty good, served on marbled bread and a pickle spear. Fries were served with local ketchup. Service was exceptional - we arrived about 15 minutes before closing (afternoon) and everyone was really nice about feeding us anyway, knowing we would keep them there past closing. Kudos for this place for doing things right and taking care you customers.

I don't understand why this only has a 3.2 star review. This place is great! The pancakes were massive I couldn't finish my two. The home fries were delicious too! The service was quick and the super friendly. I love the murals on the wall of the loon. I love little diners like this. Don't listen to the bad reviews. Probably snobby tourists. And this is from an out of towner. I'll be back when I'm in Maine again.

Overpriced...not very clean and $12.95 for a mediocre burger and $4/cup coffee is ridiculous...go to rollie's instead....

Real turkey off the bone! But $3.99/cup of coffee & 14.95 4 mediocre burger is steep. So its spotty menu choices however friendly service. Rollie's prices are better and wider selection.

Bummer they don't open until May 6, two days from now. Continuing our drive north we came across the famous Moody's Diner that's known for their pies & down home cooking. They cook their own turkey so a turkey club is a must. For me it was either a 1/2 # lobster roll or a Percy burger with Swiss, onion & mushrooms. The burger was the juiciest burger I've ever had & I had a hard time getting it around my mouth. I managed to eat 3/4 of it & took the rest back to our B&B for later. We also had a side of awesome onion rings. If you've never been go eat & enjoy Maine cooking & hospitality. A factoid: They serve over 55,000 pieces of pie a year. Off to Whitehall B&B to rest up, go sightseeing & have an extraordinary dinner the night before our 37th anniversary. I forgot look at the size of this oatmeal raisin cookie we bought. Biggest cookie I've ever seen. BTW: Kris ordered a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie, she didn't like it. I passed on dessert.

These historic must-stop stays busy all year round with patrons of locals and tourists alike. You walk in and you'll see history and family photos. We've been driving here for many years and never stopped, and today we finally did! We came in at 1:15 p.m. and there was still a wait, around 20-30 minutes. We were going to have their famous dishes but opted to get breakfast instead. I enjoyed my 3 eggs over easy with sausage and a side of bacon, and BF had his with ham and blueberry pancakes. You can never mess up breakfast, which we are looking forward to going back and trying other dishes, specifically the biscuits and gravy, my ultimate American comfort food, and I'd be the judge. The server was nice and attentive, and breakfast came out in 10 minutes. Prices are reasonable.

Three booths opened and we were told to sit where we liked, so we all sat down in booths adjacent to each other. Mind you, we were there 1st. Apparently we were invisible as the waitress took the orders from the 2 other booths and one had already gotten their food, and we hadn't even been asked what we would like. After that person was served, the waitress spoke to another table that had been seated AFTER we were there and said she'd be right back to take their order. We left immediately after hearing that, we are very disappointed from this whole episode. We rode all the way from Brewer for lunch, we have always enjoyed the food here, hence the long drive. We will not be back, which is sad since the food is awesome!

The free street parking right outside the restaurant was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Just as surprising was the overpriced and just-okay food. I gotta say, both the inside and outside vibe of the place are a bit misaligned with the menu and food quality, and also the prices. We arrived at around noon and the menu unfortunately didn't look any breakfast items as they stopped those at 11am. Instead, our options were burgers, sandwiches, and dinner plates. The menu was quite extensive and creative -- it wasn't your typical diner menu (Asian noodles?!) -- but also, prices were steep for a place like this. A cheeseburger was $16+, with an extra $1 charge for tomato and onion. The sandwiches were more expensive and just included chips -- fries were an up-charge. Honestly, just the prices alone were a turn off. My burger -- I ordered the one with brie and jam on it -- was so underwhelming. Not even an exciting cheese like brie could save it. What a shame because it really did seem like such a cool spot!
