So I came here one day to make any appointment for my recall on civic for the airbag. The guy is obviously over dressed for his job. He was on the phone while I walked in. He happened to be the only one there to help. I told him I was gonna go to the parts department to pick up a part I had ordered. He told me to wait, otherwise I would lose my place in line even though no one was there. So I waited, thought he would be done soon. Well he wasn't. I could've gotten my part and came back in time to schedule my appointment. Now I schedule my appointment and he said someone will call me back for my recall because the part had to be special ordered. I said fine. Now the problem is, it's been a month and NO ONE CALLED ME! Bought a certified pre-owned Honda Odyssey from here... Noticed that our TPMS sensor was on (TPS REPORT?!??).. anyway, took it in to them.. In order to certify a pre-owned it's suppose to pass a long list of checks to make sure it's tip top, etc.. well, somehow they missed the fact hat this vehicle was missing the TPMS sensors (TPMS = Tire Pressure Monitoring System). They ordered and installed them. My question was "what else did you miss?" considering the light was on when we drovie it away, I can only imagine it was ON during the inspection, so why didn't they inspect why the light was on!??? Hmmmmmmm.......... Timeframe: Honda of Tracy was very fast at ordering and installing these parts, they communicated ery well with us via phone as to what, when and why.. I really appreciate updates and they didn't slack here. While you wait they have a fresh coffee brewing system that features Starbucks coffee and a whole array of condiments for the cup of joe. A nicew waiting area with television and (moms and dads listen up) a closed of rrom with a door (all glass) for the kids to play in!! The staff was curteous and polite the entire time. read more

so i am overdue for a review! my boyfriend and i purchased an 09 acura tsx technology package! we are in love with it! it was basically brand new looking inside and out. i know if we bought it from a different dealer without the big name brand or a private dealer we would of saved a fortune, but honestly why not go with a dealership that you can trust. most people go to jz auto in tracy, but if you have been there and catch them off guard they're basically selling you cars with dents and broken things and fix them before putting them on the lot and telling you that it is a clean title! i know a good amount about cars so these type of people cannot fool me. the manager slipped and confirmed that's what they do. anyway! if you're going to tracy honda make sure you ask for francisco! he's an older filipino man! he's not like most of these slime ball sales men who approach you and won't leave like a virus! an african american gentlemen approached us offering us refreshments inside with a smile and a fake positive attitude...and as soon as we said we were waiting for francisco he brushes us right off. at first we wanted to get a honda crv, but being cautious with our money and having the upper hand because we were pre-approved we had an idea where we wanted to spend out money with taxes, registration, and fees. they wouldn't budge and give us a deal so we left. after all the hassling phone calls we simply explained to them we weren't interested then the offering and bargaining followed. but for them we are still to no avail. maybe a week later we went and we found the tsx and had a good deal. it took forever to get everything situated! we came in at 4pm and left at 8pm. so make sure you give yourself plenty of time. my cons: when we bought my accord from a previous dealership couple years back they let us take the car with 7 days free insurance. at honda if you don't have insurance they make you get one on the spot or else you can't even drive your own car off the lot. make sure you already have an insurance company lined up! another con is- nick is an indian gentlemen i believe that is his name..talks extremely fast. extremely rude. tells you to ask questions later and completely slow preparing transactions. his accent is so thick you'll be afraid you may miss a word and get ripped off! he's their new sales manager. or whatever he does. he basically processes your contract. if you get their warranty for a used vehicle it doesn't make sense to pay over $2,000 then every time you come in you have to pay $100. ps. nick will offer you geico and say they're the best but honestly i think he has an affiliation with them because my quote was way better with aaa. ask for someone else if that option is available. it is your investment after all! shame on you nick for telling my boyfriend if we don't get your warranty something will happen to our car and we will spend thousands on repairs. i swear sometimes people don't know who they hire. two face and what not! i hope karma bites you on your ass! my advice to you is: don't just come and have these salesmen hassle you and tell you everything you want to hear! it is better if you have the money. even better to be pre-approved because they are on commission so they want to make that money and quota! you'll have the uppper hand! pro: francisco! you made this such a pleasant transaction. i know your intentions are in the right place! i enjoyed our chat while we waited for our contracts. thank you for coming in on your day off for us! thank you for making sure we got home safe! thank you for taking a picture with us in our new car. you're so sweet! you remind me so much of my grandfather! i hope nothing but the best for you! don't let those other dirty salesmen push you around. i see them talking down on you because you're older, especially that fat white guy who sits in the office and just tells you orders! we miss you! we hope to see you soon! thank you for an excellent customer service! take care! This was my first time buying a car from a dealership. I had done my research - Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds - etc and had a pretty good idea of the price I was looking to pay on a specific new car. I reached out to James Herren after seeing that Tracy Honda was offering the lowest price. His quote matched what I was hoping for and was much lower than all the other Honda dealers that I had found. After he had offered a price, confirmed that he could get the color I wanted and we had agreed on the date of sale I got an even cheaper quote through TrueCar. I sent James a txt asking if he could honor this new price and he said yes. That simple. As the date of purchase approached I was honestly anticipating being d*cked around. I had been told that this was a bait and switch shop - I called and emailed to confirm that the car we had agreed upon was there for the price we agreed on. I arrived. Car was there! So far so good. Went over the details with James - very professional and personable- not pushy. To finalize the paperwork and to discuss financing I worked with Todd Suender who was also nice. He wasn't pushy but it is his job to try to get some extras out of you. The finance rate was higher than I anticipated and only when we started talking about the possibility of an extended warranty was he magically able to get me a lower interest rate to keep my monthly payments the same. I bought it, but when I decided a few days later that I did not actually want the added coverage he was responsive and helpful in helping me cancel my warranty. I should also say that he didn't try to sell me anything unreasonable. The process was overall seamless. I got a GREAT car for a GREAT deal, well below the msrp and even the invoice price and didn't ever feel like I was being conned. I feel very confident recommending this dealership. read more

It's been a looooong time since I bought a Honda, since my 1996 Honda Accord EX (with over 300,000k), wasn't going to give up the ship, but alas, during it's last oil change, I was informed that it needed a new head gasket and it wasn't worth the repair. A very sad day for me. As I got older, I told myself that I would never buy a new car again (the depreciation factor is just too great), but would probably stick to the Honda brand since my car held up so well for so long. We started canvassing all the Honda, Acura, Mazda, and Lexus dealers for a certified pre-owned cars in the bay area. I even checked Car Max! Nothing. That is...nothing that was reasonably priced, that had the features I wanted including low mileage. If we did find a car that met our criteria, it was sold before we could get to it. We finally found a Honda Accord EX-L that was listed in Tracy, so we went out to see it the very next day. This is when we had the good fortune of meeting Dylan Soldati (and later, Frank Esparaza), but the misfortune of the car having been sold the day before we got there. However, Dylan told us that he had good news and that there was another Accord EX-L, the same year, with lower mileage and a little lower sticker price! Hooray! Too funny that it was the same color, inside and out, and the same model of my old faithful 1996. We took this one for a test drive and found it to fit the bill, had more features than expected and had low mileage. Problem was, we didn't know if we had the financial backing of our credit union. Since this was a Sunday, we wouldn't know until Monday. Dylan and Frank (the sales force at Tracy Honda work in teams) were both off until Wednesday. Eeeeek! Someone might buy the car out from under us, and we didn't want to have a hard credit inquiry on our credit history...trying to keep the score up, you know!? Dylan was kind enough to give us his cell phone number so that we could contact him on his day off. Dylan was not one of those aggressive sales people, who are often intimidating and relentless in their pursuit of a sale. We appreciated that very much! Thankfully, we were approved by our credit union for a lower percentage than Honda could offer, and we went back that following Wednesday to "seal the deal." The story is long, but the car purchase was short and seamless. To get to the point...Frank and Dylan were two of the best people that we have worked with in a long time. They were very helpful, had many good suggestions, offered sound guidance/opinions, and were a real pleasure to know. We liked the team approach as well. We all know that dealers are out to make their money, and though the car was basically a no haggle, certified pre-owned vehicle, Frank took excellent care of us, and threw in a few GREAT perks that made up for not being able to really lower the price of the car. Todd, the finance guy, went over a few other things, like extended warranties and protection policies that was also helpful to know about, and helped us decide what to get. In short, you would want to make the drive to Tracy if you are in the bay area, and you would want to work with Frank and Dylan in purchasing your Honda, be it new or used. They make you feel that you are a valued customer. I'm still missing my 1996 (which was bought by someone who is going to fix it), but we (me in particular) are loving our certified pre-owned Accord! He was the first service advisor for my first to visits to Tracy Honda. This time I made an online appointment because my car window of the passenger was making weird noises. I never really care which service advisor i am assigned to being that they are all great. Here goes my list of the amazing people who helped me today because I feel like they should be recognized: 1. Daniel Olivierra was AWESOME, he was super friendly and helpful. Every response ended with a " no problem, sure! " he is truly one of the best advisors there. He made sure to called me and worked with my schedule and accommodated with it very well. From now on if I can will be my go to person when I come get service changes. He found a driver to take me home within five minutes!! 2. Lupe was GREAT, she was the first person I spoke to ask if I can be taken home and picked up to get my car. In 2009 I had a bad experience with my local honda dealership and decided to look online for cars that matched my search. I found a fully loaded Honda Pilot 2006 for thousands less than the dented one the local dealership offered me. I drove out there and bought it. In November of 2010 I decided I wanted a Honda Insight and again tried my local dealer and was totally ignored when I pulled up in my beater commuter car. I contacted my sales person from Tracy and he worked my deal over the phone while I was at work as I have a young child and didn't want to spend a lot of time negotiating. I went after work and picked up my new car for way below MSRP. I am extremely satisfied with my purchases, never felt like I was being over charged and I will continue to purchase my vehicles here, as long as my salesman is still there, even if it is a 2 hour drive! Unfortunately I still have to service my car at my local dealership that hounds me to remove my plates that say Tracy Honda. Let's be honest, buying a car kind of sucks in general. However, James Herren at Tracy Honda was an great to work with and gave us a really good deal with no hassle. He was also just really nice and he has checked in with us multiple times since to make sure we're doing well. My wife and I were working with 3 dealers to try to get the best deal on a 2015 Honda Fit. We wanted a White LX Manual. I asked James what he could do for me and he said he'd get back to me. When he got back to me, he offered us a great deal, and I said I'd think about it. I brought this info to the other dealers and they basically strung me along, didn't communicate with me when they said they would, wouldn't be clear about what price they would offer, and one of them acted like we hadn't already talked twice before when he was supposed to call me back to tell me what lower offer he could make. We decided we were going to go to Tracy. I called James and I told him we wanted to buy. Since it had been about a week since I said I'd get back to him, he asked me to clarify color. I said White and he told me there are no White LX Manuals in Northern California period. I then realized that these other dealers hadn't really been communicating with me because they wanted to continue to pretend they had access to what I wanted when they did not. James said he had a Silver in stock and we went right out and bought it. It was easy and painless. James, nor his finance person, never tried to make us buy anything we didn't want or condescended to us about why we were making a bad choice by not getting extra this or that, like many dealers I've seen. I've seen James has had some bad reviews on here, and I'm guessing it's because James is very straightforward and many people don't like being told the truth--they want to be danced with. In my experience, however, James took kindness and honesty and responded with kindness and honesty. I certainly wasn't that easy to deal with either, as I had negotiated quite a bit and requested 3+ times for a better price and waited for him to call back without being willing to just do the deal right there. What ever you do don't get the warranty offered here, I had declined the warranty already with the sales rep and the finance manager Sier Amin basically pressured me into getting it giving this big spiel. I was about 19 at the time and didn't really know much about these warranties so I ended up getting it and now come to find out the warranty I got was not even through Honda, it's through Portfolio. Walked in, sat down with a Internet Sales person named Steven Brent Honnoll (Nicest sales person we've ever met) & looked through the computer for the specific cars we were wanting.  We found the exact car, color & payments we wanted & we drove off the lot in less then 2 hrs. Their prices were lower then Sacramento or Stockton. Their customer service was way above any dealership we have ever dealt with. Everyone & anyone that worked there were very kind & polite to us. We just bought a brand new Honda HR-V from James Herren. Throughout the entire process, we kept thinking 'there has gotta be some gotcha' We were able to come to a price agreement within 15 minutes over two emails. Gave a credit card over the phone to hold our car. We came in three days later - we drove over 300 miles to find the exact car we wanted. No dealer in SoCal was willing to bring in an AWD HR-V. In fact, most we talked to were marking up above MSRP and adding large accessory packages to the tune of $2,200. We were in and out of the dealership within an hour, and the only surprises were free window tinting and door edge guards, plus the out the door price ended up being a penny less than we had negotiated. Again, leaps and bounds above every other car dealer experience I have had. If yelp had 10 stars, they would get it. I thought I found the perfect car for myself and family and really thought I was going to walk out of this dealer with a new car. I had negotiated a price with James the night before so I thought this was going to be a piece of cake. I get to the car dealership and asked for James and a representative named Courtney came to help me. James didn't have the decency to at least introduce himself and let me know someone else was going to help. Ok, fine. Courtney took me to look at the vehicle and during me inspecting the car and test driving it Courtney sat in the backseat on his Phone. Not a single conversation. Aren't sales people supposed to sell you on the car and let you know the features it has? I figured eh, ill look at the manual myself. Then I let Courtney know I liked it and was ready to go home with it. He came and wrote down a price that was $1,000 more than what James and I agreed on. When I pointed it out, all Courtney had to say was oh, I wasn't the one doing the paperwork and crossed out that price in pen. Look just because i'm a female doesn't give you the right to try and think im not going to pay attention to detail. From there Courtney and one of The Finance Managers, Todd Suender tried to convince me to use their financing. I already had a loan approved with my credit union. I don't think it set too well with them. Thats when the worse part of my entire day happened. Todd Suender is a dirty LIAR. All I needed him to do was fax a purchase order (car contract) to my Credit Union and the check was going to be overnighted. When I asked him to fax it, he opened up the long contract and said "this we cannot fax". I asked how I would get the contract to my Credit Union he said you take it to them, they cut a check and you bring back the check and also mentioned without the check I cannot leave with the vehicle unless I sign financing with them because that secures my vehicle. It was so confusing why everything seemed to be so difficult. So I asked why is this a long process and apparently Tracy Honda does not affiliate with Provident Credit Union per Todd. So I stuck to my guns and said ok fine, ill take it to them. I had to drive from Tracy to San Ramon to drop off the contract. When I get to the bank they asked why i drove over there. I had to wait for approvals through Managers to cut the check so I could get my car the same day. When Provident called Todd to ask why he couldn't fax the purchase order Todd said oh, we do that all the time. Maria didn't ask me to fax the purchase order. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Then Provident asked Todd why do you need a check when Provident usually over night payment, Todd said oh yeah you can send payment that way. We handle it that way all the time. YOU BASTARD. He tried to blame it on misunderstanding. No. No. No. YOU TRIED TO COVER YOURSELF. After hours of trouble and waiting on approvals, I had the check in my hand. I was in traffic from 3:00-4:30pm when I said what am I doing? I could not see myself looking at that man's face and thanking him for finally giving me my car. I called the dealer and told them I will not give them the satisfaction of giving them my money and helping them sell a car to their benefit. Watch out when you go here. Hopefully they don't treat anyone else the same and make you run in circles. If you work with Todd I strongly suggest there be another Finance Manager in the room to watch over his work.
