$100 for an oil change? I think not. The service center at Tracy Honda cannot be trusted to give you honest answers and will take advantage of women. In addition to charging my wife an extra $70 of "labor" for an Oil change, they also tried to tell her a bunch of other services were "required" by Honda. Thankfully, she looked the manual and refused. The service tech's claim was that "Honda updated the service schedule". When my 03 Accord radio back light burned out, they refused to service it under warranty. After 5 different messages (over 5 weeks), they finally called me back to tell me that I'd have to pay $1500 out of pocket to fix it. First 4 calls never got return call. When to Livermore Honda and they called Honda and arranged to fix it under one-time good-will repair. Then again, the problem was a design flaw that affects all 03 Accords... (There's a service bulletin to that effect). Maybe that's why Honda was so quick to give me a "good will" repair. read more

BE VERY ALERT if you shop for a car here. My mother negotiated with the salesman for a new truck. After agreeing to the price of $21,000, he left to do final calculations with tax, etc. When he returned, he said the total would be $24,000. My mom asked for a breakdown of this amount. The salesman kept repeating it was simply the tax and refused to actually show her a breakdown. So my mom asked him several times whether the $24,000 total reflected a base-price of $21,000 plus taxes. He said yes. After making her wait almost 4 hours to see the financing people, when my mom was getting ready to sign the papers, she realized that the base-price was $22,000. When she brought this to their attention, the salesman returned and said something along the lines of, "no, it was always that price, I would never agree to a price of $21,000." He then continued to remind my mom how much she loved the truck, which she did, and what a great truck it was. He also alluded to the fact that it was only a $1,000 difference. My mother told him that yes, she loved the truck, and yes, that it was $1,000 difference. But she told him that she felt duped. We will definitely not do business with them in the future. read more

Went there this morning and had a very pleasant experience with a sweet salesgirl. I gave my offer for one of their certified vehicles and the salesgirl said she cleared it with the floor manager and that it would not be a problem. Once I find a car I like, I always bring my parents back for a second opinion. She mentioned that she would still need the approval of the store manager who was currently busy but that it was safe to bring my parents back. It's an hour drive without traffic so I told her I'd come back as soon as I got that approval. That was around noon today. Super excited that I FINALLY found the vehicle I wanted for the price I wanted, I arranged to bring my parents back that same afternoon. She never calls back. I follow up three times, first at 3pm to hear she's been too busy to speak with the manager.. then at 4pm to get her voicemail. Again at 5 to speak to the sales manager who doesn't know or sound too pleased about the offer given to me. By 6pm, salesgirl calls back to say the store manager denied my offer. No counteroffer was given. Nothing. Waste of time. And don't tell me you were too busy to call back all day because "people in the store have first priority." I was in the store and told it was safe to leave because you'd take care of it. I don't care if you deny my offer, just be respectful of my time and follow up when you say you will so I can move on. read more

Let me state for the record that I despise car shopping. Well, not looking at the pretty, shiny cars, but the negotiating that comes along with it. It makes me anxious and I don't like it! With that said I had bought my last Honda 8 years ago at Tracy Honda and had a good experience. I had come to the conclusion that I had to let her go as transmission problems would cost almost what the car was worth. I had checked out a few Honda websites in Sacramento, Stockton and Lodi respectively. I called in my dad for support and we figured since I had luck with Tracy Honda years ago, we'd try them again. I did make a call before we left as I was interested in a certain Certified Used Honda I'd spied on their website and wanted to make sure it was still there. I was helped by a female salesperson and she assured me the car was still there. When we got there, we were greeted by the saleswoman. We promptly took the car for test drive. She was in my favorite color, nice smooth ride and some extras in the car that I wasn't particularly looking for but was an added bonus. I let my dad do all the talking as he really loves getting into the negotiation part. Well, apparently Honda doesn't negotiate. Ahh, since when? The saleswoman told us that the price was set and they'd already knocked it down a couple of thousand as it has been sitting on their inventory list for some time. I had to laugh when she said negotiating was old school. Yah, she called my dad old school! I was a little put off by that comment. Long story short, I needed to dump my car quick and figured I was getting a fair deal per KBB homework I had done. Honda did stay open for us so we could sign the papers and I appreciate that. I also understand that the finance manager has to offer GAP, Lo-Jack, etc. Just wish he wouldn't have been pushy about it as I was tired and just wanted to go home. I'm happy with my car. From the mysongenistic sales person, to not listenting to what was being requested from the customer, it has become a shoddy deal and is the worst experience car shopping my life! I had emailed the Manager James Herren regarding a car I saw online and made an appointment to get in and check it out. So my family came to check out the cars they had we had spoken to a gentelman before, and was underwhelmed, his name is Rocky Bhatti, avoid him if you can! He is clueless, and has no knowledge of the cars on the lot. We asked some basic questions, 1. How much MPH 2. Since the car had 93,590, what is the warrenty Basic questions, when we asked were was the car? I had to find it myself he was too busy trying to impress my husband, who does not know cars and relies on my expertise. Rocky never spoke me, and only to say I had come in before with my Mother. In one instance? While we were in the test drive, where he did not allow us to use the freeway to see how the car would handle. He made a predjudical comments on another salesman, that he was seeing us personally because the other man could not speak english well. We said we wanted to see the Carfax on the cars we were looking for, while Rocky was showing us, and then began the buying process without haggling without speaking to us and clearly confused because he began the loan process without gaining approval from us! I commented they had a purple car and so he then asked me if I wanted to purchase that car, when we had just went through several used cars!!!!!! So I am waiting to haggle, one of my favorite things to do in the car buying process, and well nothing, he was speaking to my husband and asked me if I had given permission for him to begin the buying process, I had not. The management has changed at Tracy Honda, and as a result it is not the same place we have known. We will not EVER purchase another car from this place. When I called the Manager, he hung up on me and did not return my calls. It is a Mockery I have read the reviews that are possitive regarding Rocky Bhatti, and it seems his good service is reserved for people of his region of birth, The service has gone down as well, they forget appointments and treat their customers like crap. I drove down to Tracy Honda this morning, February 24, 2015; I was looking to purchase a 2011 Scion tC that I had found online. I had called ahead on Saturday, then again this morning, to ensure that the vehicle was available and ready for me. I drove over 60 miles from Elk Grove specifically for that car and the promise that I would get a good deal, promised by Internet Sales Manager, Gordon Gooch. Gordon himself was not there this morning so I had the pleasure of working with Eddie who was not at all motivated to sell me anything; but that isn't the worst of it. These guys LOST THE KEY TO THE CAR. You can imagine how furious I were to have driven down on a Tuesday for over an hour to be disappointed like this. Then they didn't even try to make me feel better by perhaps showing me a similar car, which they had, and trying to give me deals and compensating me for their mistakes. In conclusion, Tracy Honda is a prime example of what organization, teamwork, salesmanship, hospitality, and customer service should NOT be. Don't waste your time with these guys. If you really want a Honda, go elsewhere. read more

Service Department Review: First I do have to say the work was done quickly and they had the parts in stock so they get at least two stars. The costumer service was the issue. First was the communication about the repair. It was under warranty so they just took care of it but it would have been nice to get a call letting me know they diagnosed the issue and what was going to be done (wasn't going to refuse the work, just would have been nice to know) Then when I came to pick up my car there was no courtesy wash (my regular dealer offers a wash and vacuumed for warranty work, oil chance and even recalls and bulletins) the techs left the dirty paper mats on the floor with greasy foot prints and the tag was left hanging in my window, seat wasn't put back and an item that sits on my dash had slid off during the test drive and fell near the passenger seat and was left there. Also they never took down my email address. I have worked for both Honda and Acura dealers for over three years and they use emails to send out customer surveys from Honda. They must not be taking emails because they don't want Honda to find out how their customers feel. They could just be taking short cuts but I know how Honda would feel about that, we used to get penalized for not collecting emails. read more

I want to give them a 5 star, based solely on how nice the staff has always been and the service provided. But this time around, I have been left disappointed. I have owned four Honda's - so you can say I'm a loyal customer. I work in the Bay Area, so I have many convenient choices when it comes to getting my car serviced. I've been to several other Honda dealerships and Tracy Honda has always been my favorite. Because of this, I purposely wait for a Saturday for any service so I can bring it here. The downside is that it is a Saturday, and I'd much rather spend my day doing something else. But that's how much I like Tracy Honda. I made an oil change appointment for Saturday morning at 8:30am. My service agent, Daniel, was a really nice guy, so no complaint regarding him whatsoever. I told him that besides my oil change, I wanted to specifically check on two things: 1) My remote keys were not working. I have this problem every few months (which has gotten me to the point of frustration) and have been told that it has something to do with grease. This is what it says on my previous work orders: "Type CL: Please check remote for grease". 2) One day my driver side visor just snapped when I pulled it down. I asked them to check this and see if my warranty covered that repair. He wrote those things down on the service order, so I know he did his part. He also told me I needed some other routine service, so that would have put me at about $400. He gave me a discount (which was awesome of him, btw), and I agreed to do that service. Within 30 minutes, I was home and realized that I needed to hold off on that, so I called him to cancel it. He graciously canceled it, no problem. According to my service order, my promised pick up time was 11:30am, though Daniel said it should only take a couple of hours (this was even before I canceled the other service). At 10:45, no call. So I decided to wait until 11:30 on the dot to call and ask for a status. I had plans, so I was in a hurry to get my car. I called and it was a hassle trying to reach anyone. I am not exaggerating, I called 7 times. I'm sure the receptionist got tired of me, but she was really nice. I finally asked her to please write down my info and go hand it to Daniel to call me back. Daniel called me quickly and said that it was being worked on at that moment....then at 12:12pm he called again to say it was ready. I picked up my car and went on my way. Well, not before I had to flag down someone because there was a car parked directly behind mine and I was blocked in!! So I already had to wait almost 4 hours, and now I can't get out. It was actually a little funny, though I was in a rush by then. As I was driving, I notice that the visor is still the same...broken. Then when I arrived at my destination, lo and behold, my keys still don't work. Not sure what happened, b/c there was obviously a disconnect. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt b/c the service here has always been outstanding. Today is Memorial Day, so I had to leave a message for Daniel about the visor and keys. I let him know that I won't be back in town until the weekend. I'm bummed that I'm going to have to return for something that should have been fixed when I went it. I'm also confused that my wait time was 4 hours. I understand if I had to wait that long for a walk-in. But not for an appointment. What is the point of making one if I have to wait just as long as the times I've left it there without an appointment? I hope this issue is resolved and I don't go through it again. I really don't want to leave a negative review for a place that I've always highly regarded and recommended to others. read more

I went in on Monday to see what deals they had for '15 Accord since it was Labor Day weekend. I already have approval for an auto loan through my credit union. I pulled up the loan info that I had from my bank, and their sales guy, not sure his name, a stout African American guy, with glasses tried to convince me it was a pre-approval and they hadn't ran my credit yet because they didn't see the credit check ran. WHAT A LIAR!! Wanted me to use Honda financing at over 7% when my credit union loan is 2.24%. And "their" credit check showed my credit score, over 80 points lower than my FICO score. When it came to bartering over final price out the door, he kept twisting his words and saying we were getting our out the door price at where we wanted. But this value was how much I would be financing, not adding the $2,500 down payment. For being a lying and unfaithful dealership I walked out with a bad taste in my mouth about Tracy Honda (when I have heard great things from both family and friends). They lost a deal and also lost a future potential client. SHAME ON THEM for trying to pull a fast one on us!! read more

Ok, after filing a complaint with the BBB I was contacted by Honda and they told me there was a software update that could fix my issue with the battery dying. They said I could bring it in and they'll update the software as well as test my battery again to make sure it was good. I brought it in and was told that they "helped it fail" and they replaced my battery. From here forward I'll be taking my car to my mechanic in Livermore for any and all future services, unless there's a recall on something. read more

I was really hesitant about buying from this dealership because of all the negative reviews, but I don't think I could have had a more pleasant experience - for a car dealership of course. After finally finding the exact used Honda Pilot, the cheapest price I've found all around the bay we made an appt and headed up there. Well, when we got there the car wasn't exactly what we had in mind BUT they had another pilot that was perfect and less money. We test drove, went through financing and left in our new car. Of course the financing guy was a little pushy with the "Add-ons" but that's to be expected at any dealership. There were no car mats in the car - They put an order in for them and they were shipped to my house in less than a week. Would definitely buy from here again. read more

We have bought a couple of vehicles here and all is good. My new car is now 8 years old and still going strong. We purchased a used vehicle here and that is still going strong and 11 years old. 5 stars! Now, service is very expensive. I never go here as our other local repair shop does a stellar job. However, I needed to purchase my 2nd replacement key. 4 years ago the key costs $110, now the same key is $190! They said it would take 1-1 1/2 hrs to program, but it took 2 hours. Not what I had expected! I did get 15% off for my trouble, but Honda has a faulty product and overcharges for its replacement. 0 stars. So, let's average 3 stars: 5 for sales and products, 0 for parts/service. Update 7/10/11: Corporate Office called me and asked about Tracy's service. Next day, Chris from Service contacted me. They are trying to make it right and will give me a free oil change for my difficulty. I will still go to M&M Auto as they are honest, better price, and won't try and sell me another service I don't need. My rating stands. read more

While shopping for a certified CR-V, I found myself at Tracy Honda interested in a particular model that was currently in their inventory. I was nervous about financing, as I am in the process of rebuilding my credit. My sales associate (Bernie?) was extremely knowledgeable. He answered our questions, and offered insight when comparing particular models and years. He was never pushy, he simply helped guide us through the inventory with information and expertise. Although I arrived under the impression that a used model was my only option, I left that day in the only car I test drove, a brand new 2015 CR-V that was more amazing than I could have ever imagined. The sales aspect of my experience was easy and professional, yet the finance team worked some magic behind the scenes to find me the agreement that worked best for my budget and credit score. I brought it to Honda thinking they would AT LEAST tell me what was wrong with it. One of the services performed on my car was an oil change. When I asked why that was needed the srvc rep said it had to be done. (Mind you I had a oil change done 3 weeks ago). When my car was ready I paid around 250. only for my car to be having the EXACT same issues as before if not worse. I commute to the bay and my car was dying on the hwy. Had something horrible happened because of the car issues, things would be much worse than a bad review.. I decided to take my car to LIVERMORE HONDA. Which they kept my car there for about 5 days and after deep inspection they found out what the problem was and said they would cover the cost. So I came here one day to make any appointment for my recall on civic for the airbag. The guy is obviously over dressed for his job. He was on the phone while I walked in. He happened to be the only one there to help. I told him I was gonna go to the parts department to pick up a part I had ordered. He told me to wait, otherwise I would lose my place in line even though no one was there. So I waited, thought he would be done soon. Well he wasn't. I could've gotten my part and came back in time to schedule my appointment. Now I schedule my appointment and he said someone will call me back for my recall because the part had to be special ordered. I said fine. Now the problem is, it's been a month and NO ONE CALLED ME! The offer was very attractive. Another dealership near my house was trying to sell me Civic for more than what I paid for Accord at Tracy Honda. I scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning, I was greeted by Russ, car was ready for test drive. After all the process and paper work, we were out of dealership with our new car, old car traded in and lease signed at 0%, in under 2.5 hours. Between Russ and Rachel, they made my interaction very smooth and pleasant. I loved the people around. The Finance team was great too. I respect the efficiency and love the customer care shown. I also appreciated the fact that they didn't just try to sell me their inventory (unlike my neighborhood Honda Dealer), rather their focus, even before I reached the dealership in person, was to understand what I needed and suggested what will be best for best for my daily drive of 100+ miles in heavy traffic.
