Trader Joe's is one of my favorite places to shop. They have everything I need most of the time and the people are super nice. In that regard, this is a good TJ's. What sucks about this location is that it's a nightmare to park. The shopping center is an absolute joke in how they have overpopulated it with too many shops and about half the number of needed spaces. I will go as far to say that this is the worst TJ's in Orange County in that regard. I rarely shop here as a result of this. The footprint of the store is also too small. It feels crowded and the aisles are narrow. You have a hard time getting around and it's never really not crowded. read more

Best floral department, hands down!! Just went to pick up bouquets for Mother's Day. There were about 20+ folks standing outside before 9AM to get the best selection (and prices). Walked out spending $40 on 3 bouquets. 2 large mixed ones with roses and one bunch of tulips. Great deal!!! I was at Whole Foods and their Mother's Day bouquets were starting around $25 each. This place is great, and the left side of the store looks like it used to be a flower shop (maybe a Conroy's). It's a nice place to buy items, I'm new to the idea of everything being organic. My favorite part about this location is the workers, they're helpful, and not too busy to help you find your items. I usually find fresh fruits and vegetables here, some frozen items and lunch meats for sandwiches. It's always clean and a friendly atmosphere. I'm not sure if they have the free samples, it might be another location that offers them. This is a nice shop, will gladly continue to buy items from here. read more

Trader Joe's uses paper bags. Each time we shop at TJs, our purchases have to be double bagged. In California, we pay a bag tax - 10 cents a bag. So each "bag" costs me 20 cents. However when I shop at Ralphs, Lowes or Home Depot, our purchases are never doubled bagged. Their bags, plastic or paper are strong enough to support our purchases. Why can't TJs use bags that are strong enough to support customer purchases without having to double bag? Single bags are a win-win, for the environment and customer wallets. However, I believe the retailer gets to keep the 10 cents per bag. This might be the real reason TJs in the only retailer in California that I know of that "has to" double bag customer purchases. The little item signs just don't tell you the name and how much it costs...they give you information and a little quote. Like "you'll have a berry good time with this bag of dried berries!" It's just a fun shopping experience! And what a selection of wine! So many to choose from and all very affordable. Of course, you can't leave without a bottle of their famous two buck Chuck. I HEARD they make that out of all the scrap premium grapes for various vineyards? I could be wrong so don't quote me on that, but it kinda makes sense. Why else is it so cheap? I usually have a bottle handy to cook with. But if there's nothing in the house and I'm ready to go party, two buck Chuck is my favorite drinking buddy. My favorite is the chardonnay, it has a very fresh and buttery clean taste. Try the chicken pot pie. But don't get mad at me when you burn your mouth from eating it while it's piping hot! I've been a customer here since they opened over 20 years ago. This is one of the larger Trader Joe's in terms of square footage. The aisles are nice and wide, the store is clean, and most of the staff is friendly, and the shelves are fairly well stocked. They have more of all the good things all the Trader Joes are known for, lots of good stuff at cheap prices. You'd be smart to avoid this store between 6PM - 8 PM most week nights because of the crowds at that time. Weekends are pretty hectic, too. The location is great, too because it's in the same mini mall as Smart and Final, across Culver from Ralph's, a whole ton of restaurants lie Caspian and Elephant Bar, and next door to French's Bakery. There really is one section that sets this apart from the 15 Trader Joe's I've been to all over LA, OC, and SF Bay Area...the floral department. It's a mini nursery in there, At Thanksgiving and Christmas, and other holidays, I go here instead of a florist. For the host of all the parties I attend, I usually bring a flowering plant and champagne or boxed candy They have the best cymbidium orchid plants, baby roses, succulents, and other interesting finds. Their plants are well cared for and several dollars cheaper than any nursery. They also have the usual product and food demos. The parking lots is a little crazy busy, Some sections of the parking lot is really dark. That's not their fault, but clueless customers seem to jump in front of cars backing out wearing black clothing as if to say, "Did I give you a panic attack today? Good, I meant to do it?, I get really scared when clueless parents let their kids run in the parking lot when it's dark. Friendliest and most helpful workers ever. I went in and found two things and while I was walking past the cashier, one of the workers offered and handed me a basket so I wouldn't need to hold the 2 items I was holding. Super friendly. carries on casual conversations about you and makes you feel welcome. They are also attentive in which they ask you if you need any help without being to persistent with trying to help you find something. My roommate bought the Ghost Chili Pepper with Grinder here. I loved it so I tried looking for it at the store next to UCI before but they didn't have it. She told me she got it at this location but when I got here they had a sign for it but the shelf was empty :(. I was really looking forward to buy this product. It is SUPER spicy and I love that. I really hope they get more in stock of this product. Another one of my favorite products are the frozen french onion soups. It is absolutely delicious. Tastes as good or even better than what restaurants serve. This frozen french onion soups come with 2 in the package. It is basically a frozen block of soup in a plastic wrap. You remove the wrap and put the frozen block in a bowl and just microwave it. It comes with plenty of cheese and croutons. It is the perfect amount, not too salty, and just the right amount of cheese. Their premade set salads are also really good. My favorites are the Spinach with ginger miso dressing, kale and edamame salad, lemon chicken salad, and the arugula and quinoa/couscous salad. read more

Very good Trader Joes location. Pros: close to the freeway and has ample parking. Cons: Due to median dividers in the street, it may be hard to exit and drive the direction that you would like to go...plus there is a lot of traffic in the area around 3pm when Irvine High School releases their students. read more

Clean and so far the best parking lot for a TJ! All of the TJs I have been to have the worst parking lots. Almost like it's a prerequisite for TJ- bad parking lot , check! But this location is awesome. Ample bigger parking spots and clean and friendly team. I go out of my way , a whole 7 minutes away from me haha. There is a closer one but this location is worth the extra couple min and love the parking. But no, really, it's clean, plenty of inventory stocked every time I go, clean carts and abiding by the COVID rules of cleaning them and offering hand sanitizer. Definitely a great TJ! read more

No visit to So Cal is complete without a trek to Trader Joe's. When I went to Burnt Crumbs and some other shops in Irvine, this Trader Joe's, was the closest to me, so I stopped by to pick up some of my favorite treats. This store location was clean, and it was relatively easy to find everything, even though I had never set foot in this store prior to this visit. All the items--especially the ones I was looking for--were well stocked, and since I was there during the week, the checkout lines weren't long. Whatever Trader Joe's location I go to, I am sure to check out the "What's New" section to see if there is anything that looks interesting. It's always fun to see the different snacks that are in season. Regardless of what's new or in season, there are certain items I always get from TJ's. Here are some of the snacks that were part of my latest haul: Gochujang-Flavored Almonds: Spicy almonds don't get much better than these. I don't particularly love spice, but I got these addictive snacks for a friend who does. She said this treat actually wasn't that spicy, but it had just enough heat to make it positively addicting. Gochujang is a Korean paste made from rice, fermented soybeans, red chili and salt. Boasting a smoky flavor and kick that's not too spicy, these almonds provide the perfect respite for that boring afternoon. Even though I prefer sweet over salty/spicy, I can see how it would be really easy to devour an entire bag of these in one sitting. Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzels: These are one of my favorite sweet snacks from TJ's, and they never fail to satisfy my craving for chocolate and peanut butter. I love these so much because they feature the perfect blend. These square-shaped pretzels are filled with creamy peanut butter and are finished off with a luscious, milk chocolate coating. They have a strong peanut butter flavor, which is complemented perfectly with the milk chocolate layer. Praline Pecans: These are currently my favorite snack from Trader Joe's because of their texture and consistency. The pralines are larger than the pecans, and they are finished with an extra coating of sugar on top to achieve the perfect sweet ending. I usually get at least two containers of these ... to me, they're worth the price! They have just enough of that nutty taste and texture without sacrificing sweetness. Candied Pecans: These are some of my favorite snacks, as well as salad toppings. These little packs can be found in the aisle with dried fruits, nuts and the like. When I'm just snacking on these, it's really easy to go through the entire pack at once. I try hard to sprinkle them over my salads for added texture and crunch. That way, too, I can prolong the lifespan of each bag. read more

I was at this location 2wks ago. They were implementing social distancing and limiting customers inside. I was happy to stay in line and wait outside until they let me in for that reason. I was back there this morning and social distancing was gone. And I didn't see a sign requiring a face covering for entry like I saw it outside of Smart n Final in the same plaza. It looked like people didn't mind brushing up against each other. But I did, and it was stressful trying to give people space in already small space. I had a very unfortunate incident today In the store. My wallet was taken from my zipped purse which was on my shoulder while this woman was distracting me by asking about my clothing. I dont blame the store for this however corporate should know that these things are happening because the stores are not equipped with cameras. Please reconsider this as this is happening in many of your stores. I must say the manager was unbelievably kind to me and very helpful while we waited for the police. On 4/25/20 I had a terrible experience at TJ's on Culver in Irvine. I'm not going to lie. I never had a bad experience at TJ for over 10 years except on 4/25/20 during Covid-19 at this Culver location. Yes, I'm aware these are new normals. However, I don't need the added stress from this terrible entire experience. I also feel degraded by store manager while he's "watching me" head to the registers. Because of new guidelines, I've been avoiding going out. But, I ran out of food, so I needed to restock my fridge. I arrived Sat. around 6:30 PM. I waited patiently 20 mins before entering and stood 6 feet apart in line. In the meantime, I was watching the employee's disinfecting techniques with the shopping cars. He only wiped the handle areas which I thought was incomplete. At the entrance, I also noticed a bald headed male employee (30's, about 5'7") directing the traffic flow. I naturally thought he was the store manager. But, I noticed he wasn't wearing a mask. So, I thought that was very weird and quite unnerving. By the time I entered, it was 6:50. I did my best to hurry and do my grocery shopping for at least a week of supply. Well, I'm not that familiar with that store. I usually shop in Woodbury. I noticed the same bald male employee by the bathrooms still NOT WEARING A MASK. I asked him about how they disinfect the carts. He replied that they wipe the carts like the guy is doing outside. I thought that was such a nondescript answer. Well, I continued picking up my items. About halfway into the store, I met the actual store manager. I asked him the same question about sanitizing the carts. He said that they wipe the handles and the perimeter. "What about the inside?", I asked. He also said they DON'T WIPE the INSIDE the cart. Oh, that's TERRIBLE and GROSS !!! Also, the store manager gave me a warning that the store's closing at 7. Well, I waited 20 mins and I have only been shopping less than 10 minutes. He told me I had to go to the registers now. Then, I remembered I needed to get some sparkling water. As I headed over there, HE actually FOLLOWED me! I've never experienced anything like that, ever!!! It felt like I was going to steal something and he was watching every move. QUITE DEGRADING!!!!!!. I found the sparkling water section. I don't want to leave my home again just for one item. He asked what am I looking for? I replied that I'm looking for the blueberry lemon flavor. The manager told me that they don't carry it. REALLY? I just drank the last one at home. I don't believe your answer. Anyways, I took a different berry flavor to buy. He then WATCHED ME go to the registers. I felt like a thief. Because I had such a bad experience, I gave my first input online to corporate. Two days later, Captain Jeff, another store manager, called me to apologize & to clear up anything for me. At the end of the phone call, he said he would follow up with that store manager (male, 40-50s, salt and pepper hair, about 6 feet, medium build with a tan). Well, I haven't heard anything from corporate or from Captain Jeff about the follow up. It left me hanging and I still feel the same bad thoughts. I will NOT GO BACK to this Trader Joe's. Besides, I'm not the only one who feels this way. From the other people's reviews who posted after my shopping date, it looks like this Trader Joe's doesn't care. TJ's LACKS the proper treatment of people. TJ's LACKS how to make me feel better after my phone call. ***Most importantly*** TJ's LACKS the proper protocol to disinfect thoroughly !!!! It was just Valentines day last week. I'm your typical non celebratory Valentines guy. But you know what, if I'd known how easy it was to get valentines flowers from Trader Joe's... I would have done that. Sadly I didn't see their flower deals until after I'd gotten a dozen roses from Costco (albeit for $18.99). On Valentines 2018, You could get a dozen roses for about $15.99. Dozen roses in a vase + bag were $17.99 Tulips... 2 dozen were just $10.99. Assorted flowers were just $8. I haven't been to Conroy's in ages. But Trader Joe's has more then enough flowers for me to make an arrangement. Actually I ended up making a tulip arrangement for my wife since I was making some for my mom. The floor plan is a little more open than over TJ locations I've been too which is great since they're always packed. The staff is very friendly and knows where everything is at. The parking lot leaves a little something to be desired, so you're better off parking out a distance and walking- there's always plenty of parking. read more

I'm not sure why this Trader Joe's is always out of things it's pretty annoying. I usually try to avoid this TJ's, but out of convince (right next to the freeway) I begrudgingly go to get basic groceries. Usually if i go to this one, I will need to go to another Tj's later to get the rest of the food on my list. I'm not sure why they are always out of products that other TJ's has. I really like Trader Joe's a lot. This location is very much like most of the other locations I've been to as far as the layout of the store, the products they carry, and the crappy parking. Employees here are very nice and friendly. This isn't a store I frequent for the majority of my shopping but they do have several non essential "must have" products that I go for every so often. Love love love TJ's !!!! My latest food find is TJ's Raw Almond Butter (ingredient: raw almonds - that's it!) can be pricey at other grocery stores, but here at TJ's - it's only $7 for a 16 oz. jar. Hands down my favorite grocery store ever. I come here about 1-2 times a week for 80% of my grocery needs. The prices are much cheaper than other grocery stores (Vons, Ralphs) and the quality of goods is much better. Less preservatives, less processing. My favorite items are: - soy chorrizo - hummus - dolmas - ghost chili grinder - mini soy ice cream sandwiches - pizza dough Besides my random list of favorites, I also buy the bulk of my groceries here. Quick little review! I love trader joes for their trendy and organic foods. The quality of some of the items here are far beyond any other store. Specifically, I love their exotic selection of butters (almond, cookie etc...) I got a huge Belgian imported chocolate bar to make some hot chocolate later tonight. What would I do without you, Trader Joe's? You provide me with my weekly meals at work and at home. I am a loyal faithful customer because your perishables and frozen goodies are so delectable and delicious. Yesterday, I picked up a cheese and green chile tamale and it was oozing with cheesy goodness and perfectly cooked masa. TJ's is great for small portions and quick grocery shopping. It holds almost everything you would need in a small space so you can literally be in and out within 20 minutes (depending on lines). I love the (organic) coffees, super foods (ex - chia seeds), wines, and exclusively TJ products sold there all a pretty affordable price. The quick meals and snacks are awesome. It must just be in my head but the processed foods to me seem fresher here because of turn over or maybe because I'm able to finish the smaller portion sizes in a single sitting. I am a fan and will always be one. Oh and not that it would matter much for me but the service is quite good too. read more
