I am a loyal faithful customer because your perishables and frozen goodies are so delectable and delicious. I LOVE TRADER JOE's! This one is one of the bigger ones I've been to, everything is well organized, it's cheap, and their staff is super accommodating. One time a friend and I were trying to select wine and had a hard time choosing, so their "wine connoisseur" came over and helped us out a lot! I love the lil' samples they have towards meal times too. There's something for everyone at this store.. Can't go wrong with these! Greek Yogurt - add some honey or jam and swirl it in... yum! I love grocery shopping at Trader Joe's - but this location is definitely my favorite! The aisles are nice and wide (unlike the one at UCI), the store is clean and bright, and the employees are friendly. This location has a huge produce section, as well as dairy, cheese/deli and breads, compared to the other TJ locations. My favorite items... Thai Jasmine Rice (Frozen 3bags/box) - $2.99 Mediterranean Hummus (the ones with bean garnish on top) - $3.99 TJ Pita Chips with Sea Salt (blue bag) - $1.99 TJ Garlic Naan (great with the hummus!) - $3.39 TJ Snickerdoodles (you can find it above the Frozen section) - $2.99 Items are always well-stocked, but if you find something you'd like and there isn't any on the shelf, you can just ask one of the friendly employees. What stood out for me in several of my trips are how helpful and knowledgeable the employees were - a couple of times I'd overhear a customer asking a emp. if they had a certain item - and the emp. would say no, however, they'd offer a substitute that they did have in stock - which works great! The store retains the business and the customer doesn't have to drive somewhere else! Parking can be tricky if you go during the weekends or dinner time, as this TJ shares the shopping center with several popular restaurants (including the yummy Curry House). If you like dried fruit, or even if you don't, you will like the dried lychee at Trader Joe's. They come in a silver resealable bag. Don't get the freeze dried stuff. I think about $4/bag. You can't find them at all locations. They started out at the Huntington Beach location and my friend just recently got some at this location. None in Torrance. I went to all of them, but they might be there now. They're good for an office snack to tide you over until lunch or dinner, but I plowed through an entire bag in one day one time. Probably not good for me. But they're just really weird and they're not the best thing I've ever eaten, but because they're so weird, you keep eating them. Weird. read more

TJ's is great for small portions and quick grocery shopping. It holds almost everything you would need in a small space so you can literally be in and out within 20 minutes (depending on lines). I love the (organic) coffees, super foods (ex - chia seeds), wines, and exclusively TJ products sold there all a pretty affordable price. The quick meals and snacks are awesome. It must just be in my head but the processed foods to me seem fresher here because of turn over or maybe because I'm able to finish the smaller portion sizes in a single sitting. Salads are great! I buy 6 at a time because you can't beat this healthy and fresh $3/4 lunch. I feel healthier every time I leave the store with a full bag of groceries. I always find what I'm looking for. Sometimes they have some interesting stuff that I just need to try. I'm not usually disappointed. The parking lot is small and sometimes very crowded so my visits are limited to off hours. I may encounter low stock but at least I don't have the aggravation of dealing with idiots. read more

Recently moved to Irvine and had to do some grocery shopping. Came to Trader Joe's on a Sunday. Not too crowded for a Sunday. The flower selection was limited and scarce. No lemons available. Their fruit and vegetable section was smaller then other Trader Joe's I've been too. The aisle were also narrow and limited. Overall, this is a small Trader Joe's. read more

My daughter and I had a very special interaction with associate Chrissy yesterday. My daughter was literally silently sobbing down each aisle we went through. Chrissy noticed and asked if she liked stickers. Chrissy also asked me if my daughter could have a lollipop. She took my daughter to the front of the store, gave her a lollipop, some stickers, and coloring pages. Also told her about Ringo the raccoon hiding somewhere in the store. As a thank you, my daughter wanted to give Chrissy a ceramic miniature ducky. Chrissy seemed genuinely touched, asked if "Ducky" liked flowers and that he would be placed right next to her flowers at home. She also told us tomorrow (today) was her birthday and so this was going to be her very special duck. It was such a sweet interaction, definitely turned things around for the remainder of errands my daughter had to tag along with. But, store #37, you guys have an absolute gem in Chrissy! Unless you are prepared to be yelled at, don't go to this location!! My husband and I came in to stock up our empty pantry and fridge with food and had our dog with us. We were not aware that only service dogs were allowed at this location, i agree that was our fault, however, we had been inside the store and multiple employees saw us with our dog and did not say a word. Some even commented on how cute she was so we know they were aware of her presence. We got to the back of the store with a cart full of food and she peed, as dogs do. She had gone before we went inside but we can't always predict when dogs will go again. I was by myself with her while my husband was looking at something else and I heard an employee, Tom or John, begin yelling and berating me. I had not stepped away and had actually moved over the pee so nobody would step on it and was looking around for my husband to ask him to grab some paper towels so we could clean it up. I have never, and will never, expect an employee to clean up my dogs mess. I believe that is part of the responsibility of being a pet owner and fully accept that. We completely accept that we were in the wrong here; but, the way we were approached was not acceptable. Tom or John kept yelling at me to leave the store and did not step down until my husband approached. Even though my husband was upset with the way the employee handled the situation he did not yell, raise his voice, or use vulgar language as an attempt to de-escalate the situation. He simply stated that the way the employee approached me was not acceptable and if he could go get paper towels so we could clean up the mess. Tom or John did not fully step down until another employee came and told him to go to the back of the store. We love Trader Joe's but I will never step foot in this location again. We typically spend $200-$300 per shopping trip and am so disappointed with the way we were treated! read more

Wow! I am so impressed with Trader Joe's right now that we are going through this quarantine. They have a limited amount of people inside their store. They have a line outside with X marks that are 6 feet apart. They are cleaning the carts. And what really impressed me is that they are taking care of their employees! The cashiers have a big glass between the customer and the cashier between them. They have footprint marks on the ground for people to stand in line. They have foot footprint marks for the customer that is paying to stand back as the cashier scans the products. When the cashier is done, they will then step back as the customer can step forward to slide in their credit card. Great Job Trader Joe's for protecting your employees as they are in the front lines as well being exposed to hundreds of people while people are in need of your services. Because they have a higher probability of being exposed, it also protects the customer. read more

Love this store! I go there 2-3 times a week. But recently I've purchased 2 frozen meals and while they were tasty they were lacking ingredients stated on the label. First, got the beef and vegetable meal and there was 3 TINY pieces of beef. At first I thought they were a small piece of a vegetable. Today I got the Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes, gravy and mushrooms. NOT one mushroom was included in the mix even though they were plentiful in the picture on the package. No taste of Marsala wine either. So are they being miss labeled or is TJ's being misleading???? read more

I feel like you can never go wrong at a Trader Joe's. Their customer service is always pretty top notch and their selection is great. This TJ is pretty big compared to the one on Campus and I can see there is more selection. This location has better/bigger parking and is close to a lot of variety of stores in the plaza itself. They are always coming up with cool new items and recently when I went, there were a lot of pumpkin goodies also! read more

I frequent a few of the TJs, but this one is my favorite. The staff is above and beyond friendly. Maybe it's just that I am familiar with the layout here better. Store is always clean, and the produce always looks fresh. I said this in my other TJ's review for the Woodbury store, I buy the caeser chicken and garlic naan, and it makes like 4 or 5 health meals for lunch time. The only downside is the center is a little jacked up parking and trafficwise, but it wouldn't be fair to ding this TJ's with the loss of a star. read more

I never really understood Trader Joe's and to this day, I still dont. But this store is a decent size, probably bigger than the one thats in Monrovia. Its clean and the pricing is comparable to your larger supermarkets and the quality of the products is good. The employees here are friendly - my nephew asked an employee where "Wally" was hidden and he gave my nephew hints (the kids get a prize if they find him). There was only 3 cashiers open the night I was here, which wasn't good cuz there were a lot of customers. I was confused when I walked passed the free sample area - they were giving out "Chicken less, orange chicken". WHY????????? Why not just call it Orange flavored tofu? My local TJ's .... without TJ's I would suffer from malnutrition. My wife and I don't really cook so the perishable items and the frozen foods at TJ's is what we live on. We have our weekly trips. I always feel that the staff is a reflection of managment; therefore, this management must be excellent, as the staff here has consistently displayed an energetic and postive attitude (makes me want to work for Trader Joe's)! They are consistently friendly, happy, and helpful. Great little finds here! I love their Pita Bite crackers, selection of cheeses, desserts, candies, flowers ... and selection of wines! Trader Joe's is probably not where I would go to shop for basic staples or regular groceries. I usually come here for a change of taste, for that special flavor or recipe that is exclusive to Trader Joe's. They have a wide variety of pre-made microwave-and-eat dinner entrees. Many of them are actually surprisingly good. One of my favorite is the chicken masala, which comes in a rich and flavorful wine sauce and is served with fresh mashed potatoes. This is almost like restaurant standard. Another of my favorite is the lasagna -- they have 3 kind, meat, chicken, and veggie and they are all good. There is also a huge selection of frozen vegetables. Many are the basic stuff like those you'll find in a supermarket. However, there are many items that are unique and very tasty. One that I highly recommend is the vegetable mélange, which is mixed vegetables sautéed in a rich buttery sauce. Yummy! Another one of my favorite is the vegetable in a balsamic vinegar butter sauce with pearl onions. Delicious! The selection of salads are good, and every time I bought one it has been fresh. They have a potato salad that is made with green onions and it has a very unique taste, although that is probably not for everybody. But you can't go wrong with a chicken Caesar salad there. They also carry some ethnic food, but most of those are not impressive. One look at the sushi and you know it's not good. Most people who know sushi will go across the street to Mitsuwa to get the real stuff. The frozen Asian items do not look authentic (or maybe they are not intended to be authentic). The other basic grocery items such as fruits, vegetables, fresh meat, eggs, milk, etc. are comparable in quality and price to other supermarkets in the area. But if that's all you need you probably don't need to make a trip to Trader Joe's. But if you are there, be sure to sample some of the entrees there that are exclusive to Trader Joe's and cannot be found in other markets. If you can't make up your mind what to try, go with the chicken masala. You'll thank me for it! read more

i buy flowers for my daughter at least once or twice a week and have scouted A LOT of flower shops all over oc from grocery stores, mom and pop flower shops, big chain floral stores, wholesale floral warehouses and HANDS DOWN trader joe's has the best variety of flowers at a good price point! beautiful mixed bouquets start at $1.99 to $12.99. they also have a great assortment of different varieties throughout the seasons if you want to make your own bouquet and not break the bank. i look forward to peony season each year and trader joe's has the BEST price for my favorite flowers hands down! FYI the trader joe's at the culver location also has one of the bigger floral departments than most TJ locations i've been to so i specifically go here if i'm looking for more of a selection! read more

I pick up groceries at this TJ location ATLEAST 1-2 times per week. Everything is always organized and restocked (atleast on all the nights or afternoons I'm in there luckily!) and ALL their staff is super friendly and extremely helpful! Can't think of a reason to not like this location besides the terrible parking at peak/rush hours. Also, there is still some construction going on in the lot but it should almost be completed. read more

I'm a senior citizen, I went to Trader Joe's on Culver this morning to shop. Trader Joe's Company is allowing seniors to shop 8am to 9am during this horrible time. Except this Trader Joe's. We were told they open at 9 and for everyone. So if you're a senior and you have to do your shopping and you want to have the security of going with minimal and with seniors do, don't go there! Go to the one off Harvard. They were open for us. That's the one I will go to for now on, even after this crisis. read more

I guess I'm just used to my closest TJ but I find the layout of this one a little strange. For example, when you walk in they have organic bananas at the front, but then the regular bananas are right at the back of the shop. So they're shy of a "five", but don't get me wrong, I love Trader Joe's, including THIS one. I mean, it's no bigger or brighter than any other location, nor is it any less stocked or less organized. There always seems to be the same proportion of friendly, helpful and sometimes very cute kids manning the aisles and registers, as seen at any other TJ's county wide. HOWEVER, all generalizations aside, I've been noticing some oddities about this location, first being THE PRODUCT, being that the sourdough bread and bagged lettuce I've been buying goes bad in 1-2 days, and furthermore, so does the hummus! :( The second issue is this really strange female restocking the frozen food aisles, usually around 830pm - she is neither friendly, helpful or cute. Don't look at, touch or even consider buying ANY frozen food items while she is there. She will literally follow you around the aisle while you peruse the items wanting to restock EXACTLY where you are standing without a word (much less a half assed grunt) that might indicate her desire to usurp your position right over, say, the frozen enchiladas, frozen rice, or any frozen thing you THOUGHT you wanted to buy. The only indication you will get is her cart "almost" being jammed into your side TO MOVE and her evil eyed look. This has happened to me twice already and I told the manager! Overall, TJ's STILL gets a 4 from me because I will always continue to shop there for convenience and price, and hey, they even let me return all of the bad items that spoiled too quickly without hassle! And all generalizations CONSIDERED, their product is good and the employees are just THAT cool (except for frozen food cart Nazi who needs a serious attitude check and/or a 10 minute break to eat some fabulous TJ's cinnamon sugar candied almonds...those have always done the trick for me!) read more

The problem occurs because it is the closest to a lot of Irvine houses. The conundrum is that there is a "secret" Trader Joe's in Irvine that has ample parking and is never out of stock on the good stuff yet no one wants to drive to the other side of Irvine. So we all shop here. And complain about the poor service and low stock and terrible parking and awful drivers. I once sat outside with a friend at Starbucks and we were both amused and yet horrified and the constant near and no so near misses while we were eating the new Starbucks Le Boulangerie pastries (yeah, I'm an Irvine gringo with first-world problems, sue me). This really is a surreal shopping experience. Every customer is completely unfriendly, probably because of the death defying trip it takes to get into this store, including the cute girl at front trying to raise money for the homeless. Did she really say "F*ck you" to the customer who replied "Not today" when asked for a donation or did I just imagine that? She was the cutest young woman I have ever seen raising money for the homeless. Only In Irvine. Nothing will surprise you here except why do I not drive just another 10 minutes to the "good Trader Joe's". 3 stars because it is still a Trader Joe's. read more

*******************Trader Joe's Supermarket Sushi*********************** This is for Sushi only, the store itself like most Traders Joe's ( 5* all the way) is awesome, great service, selection and value. I like running in and grabbing something on the go that appeals to my healthier side and they have a great to go section with all of the salads, sandwiches, wraps, etc. Their sushi selection is weak at best but a couple of items are pretty good.. I am reluctant to really call this sushi, as all of the rolls are either imitation crab concoctions or rolls with cooked items. The spicy Lobster or spicy shrimp rolls are the best of the lot...not sure what kind of "Lobster" is in there for just over 3 bucks but it's tasty none the less. They have veggie rolls too, but I am not a fan of the rice, too gummy and it makes the seaweed a bit chewy as well. Sorry to say, but Trader Joe's needs to up their "sushi" game! read more

Who doesn't love Trader Joe's? I came in here after my trip to Smart & Final in the same plaza because they didn't have pita bread and I knew TJ would. So I get my pita bread, momentarily check out the Asian talent, and go to check out. There was a fairly attractive Caucasion woman, obviously in her 30s, buying a bottle of wine and I forget what else in front of me. Just those 2 items. The cashier makes a comment about "oh, so this is dinner tonight" to which she made some remark, and then the cashier asks to see her ID for the bottle of wine. When he did that, I couldn't help but let out a small chuckle, obvious that he knew she was old enough but did it anyway. When she had left and he was ringing me up, we had this conversation: me: "Bet you made her day by carding her, didn't you" cashier: "Haha, yeah, you know, they like hearing that stuff" me: "oh yeah totally" Now that's customer service!!! read more

I love Trader Joe's. It's a little bit of a drive but when I'm not feeling up to it they have a lot of premade meals. The problem is some of their vegetables go bad after just two days this is about my fifth experience with stuff going bad quickly. I guess it's a good sign that they're not using too many preservatives. It's a great place just make sure you eat your food quickly. read more
