I've only been out few times since my mom passed. And today I decided to go out, do my errands even If I didn't feel like it. Plus I was I wanted to see the new Trader Joe's tote bags that they've showing on the news lately. So, I went to this store this morning to pick up a few items and hopefully purchase some of the new tote bags to give as gifts. I grabbed some bananas and red velvet cupcakes before heading to the back of the store to get the bags. Btw.. The guy at the back giving out the bags was nice. Afterward, I went straight to the checkout and waited for a cashier to help me. A cashier name Elizabeth at another register said "I can help you here again." At first I didn't think much of the comment because I wasn't sure what she meant. However, when I placed my items and tote bags on the counter, she said, "Oh, you're buying this again?" With an ATTITUDE. I was confused and I responded, "Excuse me?" She repeated, "Again." I was taken aback because I had just arrived at the store. When I told her that, I noticed her roll her eyes and shake her head. I was shocked and annoyed by her behavior. After completing the transaction, she didn't even ask if I needed a bag and usually they do. As I picked up my items I told her, "I think you may have mistaken me for someone else and I just got here". She acted as if she didn't hear me and turned. I left and went to my car, but the interaction continued to bother me. Between her comments and the eye-rolling, I felt disrespected and unwelcome. I decided to return to the store and return the tote bags because I no longer wanted to purchase something associated with such a NEGATIVE vibes/experience. It's strange that she would say something like that to a customer unless she was absolutely certain I was the same person she had helped earlier. It made me wonder if she was simply assuming I was someone else because I'm Asian. May be next time she should take notes & photo if she thinks that person keeps coming back to buy their stuffs. She can even check their camera that I just arrived there.... When I went back inside, I asked an employee where I could return the items and file a complaint. I was directed to a manager, and I explained what had happened. The manager was very apologetic, thanked me for bringing the issue to his attention, and processed a refund for the tote bags. After leaving, I decided to visit another Trader Joe's location to see if they had the tote bags in stock. On the way there, I realized I should have returned all the items I had purchased from the Livermore store, not just the tote bags. So I ended up returning the bananas and cupcakes at the Dublin location instead. Fortunately, the Dublin store had the tote bags available, and the customer service there was excellent. Both the cashier and the manager who assisted me with my return were friendly, professional, and helpful. The positive experience at that location was a complete contrast to my experience at the Livermore store. read more

My experience at this branch has always been five stars This store is always busy but the staff makes an effort to answer my questions. Every check stand is always open too. I drive from Pleasanton to this Livermore branch because they always have my ginger shots in stock and they carry a good amount of gluten free products. Pro tip: the parking lot is huge! Thank you for the smooth distribution of the Spring mini totes. This location had clear communication on when they were distributing of the Spring mini totes. The lines are orderly and organized. Door opened precisely at posted open time - 8:00 am. People were guided to the back of the store. Employees handed the desired totes to people. Limit was 4 bags per household. Excellent shopping experience. Fast, friendly, good prices and well stocked. Entered at 8:53pm just before closing. At first I thought I didn't make it in time as I didn't see any other shoppers - but sure enough it was open and all the aisles wide open - just perfect for some speed shopping. Speed shopping I did. Got a bunch of fresh fruits and vegetables... A bunch of different things for dinner: chicken, meat loaf, pot roast... a whole hand basket full in no time including a heart shaped chocolate mousse cake. Checked out in lightning speed and with a smile. As I finished loading my groceries I took a look at the time and it was 9:00 on the dot. Trader Joes is always an excellent shopping experience. I love Trader Joe's however... I am 45 and my daughter is 14. The cashier asked me "Who is paying?" I said me. She then said "Is this you wife or daughter?" I didn't know how to respond, why would you ever say that?! She finished with "When you are with your dad you should never pay for anything." To my daughter. Everything was fresh and when I went to the checkout the bagger asked me how my day was going. Such a welcome environment. Safeway should take a lesson on what great customer service looks like. I never met a Trader Joe's that I didn't like, til I came to the Livermore branch. I don't know what it is, but the service here is not what I'm used to from a Trader Joe's--staff isn't friendly and I've caught an attitude from them on more than one occasion, even if I never ask for help (I'd rather wander the store til I find things on my own than ask for help.....introvert problems lol). I get it, everyone has bad days and has to deal with annoying customers, but it seems like this every time I come here. Today at check out, the cashier was so friendly with the customer ahead of me, but as soon as it was my turn, her whole attitude changed, like a light switch. The tone of her voice was just super rude and made me feel so unwelcome, so I didn't even bother attempting to initiate any further conversation. At the end of the interaction she said "have a good day" but then again the tone and facial expression was rude, sarcastic almost. This makes me sad cause I love Trader Joe's and this one is close to home, but this was just one of a handful of negative interactions I've had at this branch. I'll gladly drive the extra 20 minutes to the Pleasanton location. read more

How did I never review this place? I love this place. But then, I love every Trader Joes. I remember when there weren't any in the Livermore/Dublin/Pleasanton area and we drove out to Lafayette or something to go to the TJ's out there. It was that important to go to TJ's. I grew up with TJ's in So Cal- and I even worked at the Yorba Linda store! I was a sandwich girl- back when they had a sandwich counter (wish they still had that.) Of course I go to TJ's for wine, and vermouth, and other liquors- but it's also my go-to for sourdough bread, some kinds of veggies (love the deal on organic baby carrots- because sometimes you don't have room for that 5 pound bag of Costco carrots) and of course, cheeses. Love the TJ's cheeses. We're also a fan of the frozen items- love the Indian frozen foods. And it's great they have 1 million varieties of cookies- because that's what America needs, more cookies. But at least TJ's has tasty cookies. The parking lot is a decent size and you can almost always find parking. Do be careful walking to the store, though- I've found people in this parking lot more likely to act like they are going to run you over. Not sure why that is, but look both ways and be careful! And did you know TJ's will always open a product and let you try it? They will! In fact, they'll encourage you to do that. Don't open the product yourself, take it to an employee- and they'll let you sample it. read more

I was in the area so stopped by this location for the first time and they had great customer service, were stocked on pretty much everything (a surprise during the holidays) and while the lines were long, they moved pretty fast and all of the workers I came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. My go to grocery store in Livermore...and I hate grocery shopping. Normally my husband does the grocery shopping but lately I have been coming to TJ's. I love how clean it is and how nice the staff is. Sue me but I'm a huge fan of TJ's frozen food selection. I also love the variety they provide throughout the year with their seasonal items. I love shopping at Trader Joe's and this has been my favorite location! While not as large as some other branches, the layout is easy to follow and it's cozy. I come in once a week or every other week to grab some quick lunches for work and have never been disappointed in my selections! What I like most about this TJ's is the staff! They all are helpful from my experience and seem to genuinely like each other. When I see staff helping clients and having a good rapport with each other, that solidifies my choices. I remember once in the hot summer of 2020 during the most restrictive time of the covid lockdown, there was a long line outside the store given the minimal capacity they were allowed to have. But what makes each TJ unique is the people who work at each store location and the culture at that location. Which brings me to Mr. McPinchy. "Who is Mr. McPinchy?" you ask? Mr. McPinchy is the reason I've been able to spend many memorable hours shopping at the Livermore TJ with my daughters while their mother gets some well-deserved rest and alone time at home. The first thing they do when they enter the store, after we've grabbed a couple of kids grocery carts, is hunt for the elusive fellow. The hunt for Mr. McPinchy takes us through every section of the store, allowing me to discreetly load up our carts with the groceries on our list. Sometimes he's hiding on top of the frozen food area, sometimes he's camouflaged on top of the display where they keep their eggs, other times the wily little crustacean is hidden in plain sight among the vegetables - but you'd never know it till you were looking right at him, eye to beady eye! Mr. McPinchy (aka McPinch or simply Pinch) you see, is the Livermore TJ mascot - a stuffed lobster full of personality! And the reward for finding him? Every kids (and parents) dream - lollipops (and other prizes that my girls don't care for, like coloring sheets and stickers) - that provide the extra sugar rush and distraction needed to finish our shopping trip! There are many things I love TJ for - like their great selection of healthy food at reasonable prices in a small footprint location. And the great management and stellar service, of course. But trust me, the reason we shop here, and will continue to shop here, is the remarkable Mr. McPinchy. read more

We had heard numerous times how great TJ's stores were so we visited the one in Livermore on Saturday. The store is very small, but clean. Not a great selection of anything really, many bare shelves and numerous expired products still on the shelves to be sold. The lettuce was brown and soft, not appetizing at all. Our cashier was pleasant. The stalker on the floor, not at all. She was clearly not at all happy with her job. Not at all impressed with TJ's. Really don't understand all the hype. Trader Joe's is awesome. There's not one between Livermore & Stockton, so if you're in Tracy you need to stop by this location (Livermore) or Stockton. We came here a few weeks ago to stock up on some goodies and healthier options for food. They had a clam chowder & coffee sample stand on the day we went also. Trader Joe's has fresh organic veggies, all kinds of unique options ranging from organic meats & fish, chips of all kinds, frozen items, sweets, list goes on & on. Always a fan of TJ's but even more so when it's my new home store! This store has many of the amenities I enjoyed at my old store (Modesto) but seems like it has a better layout/flow which I always appreciate! They definitely have my staples well-stocked and the staff are super friendly! I'm especially enamored that the parking isn't an apocalyptic nightmare like it always seemed to be at my old store. I can mostly get in an out without steam coming off my head. I can't wait to see what other treasures I can find here that maybe they didn't have at my other store. COVID Review. This Trader Joe's is doing it right. They are taking Covid precautions seriously by limiting the amount of customers in the store at a time. Expect to wait in a socially distanced line before entering the store. They wipe down each shopping cart. The entrance is so welcoming and is currently full of flowers and pumpkins. The produce and poultry prices are much less expensive than other stores. They have a great selection of cheeses, individual salads, and juices. I particularly like their Toscana cheese, and they have a great pineapple juice. I like that they have wild caught shrimp and scallops in the frozen food aisle. They have fun seasonal items, such as pumpkin bread mix and pumpkin ginger beer. Their selection of wines isn't extensive, but they have some good affordable options. I like the Kono Sauvignon Blanc. When checking out, the employees were very nice and helpful, and they grouped my items in my cart neatly. As someone who dreads grocery shopping, thank you to this Trader Joe's for making it much more bearable, and dare I say, enjoyable. read more

Popped in here on a Tuesday evening around 5:45PM to pick up some flowers for my mom's birthday and though it was a quick, in and out, trip, I really liked what I saw at this Trader Joe's. They had a very large variety of flowers to choose from. Of course, they were completely affordable and all appeared fresh. I always come to Trader Joe's any time I need flowers because their prices are always so reasonable for all that you get. A place like Safeway will charge you $16 for a bouquet of flowers that are nice, but Trader Joe's will charge you $10 for an extraordinary assortment of beautiful flowers that tend to be fuller and fresher than a Safeway bouquet. The cashier was quick and friendly, which we appreciated. There was no line and the staff here appeared to be helpful, they were assisting another customer in finding something that sounded very specific. I'll definitely be stopping by here again in the near future. read more
