I absolutely love this place! They have a great selection of fresh meats, including steaks, sausages, and so much more. They also have a full deli with delicious sandwiches. We usually order the Cowgirl tri-tip sandwich, and it is SO good! I personally love adding a little extra barbecue sauce to mine. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating, and their customer service is excellent. Even if they're getting close to closing time, they'll still take care of you and make your sandwich without making you feel rushed. The place always smells amazing, it's very clean, and it's usually busy which tells you how much people enjoy coming here. Great food, great service, and a really nice atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite places!

    Ribeye, Pork Steak, Lamb Chops

I've generally had positive experiences coming here. They are family-run, quality-first, and have a "personal" feel that's rare in the Bay. They Sell: - American Lamb (Not Gamey, Delicious) - High-Quality Chicken (Mary's) - Homemade Sausages - Solid Pork/Beef (including Wagyu) - Game Meats, Veal, Seafood - Deli Items - Seasonal: Dry-Age Prime Rib, Heritage Turkey, etc. Over time, I've made a conciencous effort to get my proteins here. My rotation has usually been their chicken leg quarters, ribeyes, lamb rib chops, and pork steaks. Recently, I made tandoori lamb chops (my favorite dish) with their American lamb, and it was honestly one of the best versions I've ever made (photo attached). A few extra notes: * Go during the week if you can. It's less crowded and the experience is more personal -- you get to actually talk to the folks behind the counter. * The walkways are tight. Not their fault, just something to be aware of if you're on the taller or bigger side. * Hours can be tough for a 9-to-5. They're open Wednesday through Friday during the week and close at 5, so I've had a few near-misses trying to swing by after work. Weekends are open, but plan ahead. * Online pricing would be a nice add -- would help with planning. * Wishlist: Would love to see limited offerings of premium versions of other proteins -- Iberico or Berkshire pork, Mary's pasture-raised chicken, Ora King salmon, bluefin tuna. And spirits (bourbon, rum) would be a fun addition. Overall, a great business and a real value-add to the community. I'll keep coming back - highly recommend checking out!

Recently moved to Livermore and was looking for a good sandwich place. Who woulda thought it would be at a butcher shop. Ordered the Godmother (-$18). Sourdough roll, mollinari salami, Hobbs tavern ham, lettuce, tomato, fire roasted peppers, banana peppers, olive oil, vinegar, pesto aioli, and fresh mozzarella cheese. I optioned to toast the bread. The bread is fresh, soft inside and crunchy on the outside. I elected to toast, looks like they use a panini press. They don't skimp on the salami and ham. Produce is fresh. Great contrast of the peppers, acid from the vinegar, creamy pesto aioli, and good chunk of mozzarella. It's a balanced "Italian" sandwich. So good I came back two days later. Portion size will fill you up as a solo but definitely can be split between two people. Feels like a mom and pop operation who has been here for a very long time. Will absolutely come back for this sandwich.

    Picanha (front). Venison Rack (back)

Key Points: - wide assortment of meats, including elk and venison - They have picanha - Wagyu options available - They even have sandwiches Stumbled upon Livermore Butcher Shop on my quest to buy a holiday roast for my family. I was specifically looking for picanha aka sirloin cap, my favorite cut of beef. Not only did they have it, but I was pleasantly surprised to find different meat varieties such as venison and elk! I've always wanted to try Venison after first reading about it in Little House in the Big Woods a gazillion years ago. This was my chance! So I decided to buy two x 4-bone venison racks in addition to my picanha For meat this good, I seasoned them with nothing but "salt, pepper, and garlic powder" I cooked them Sous vide at 130 degrees F, six hours for the picanha, and three hours for the venison. Both turned out phenomenal! The venison was lean, flavorful, and tender despite its leanness. The picanha was juicy , and even before cooking it, I could see excellent marbling, akin to USDA prime, or maybe even equivalent to Australian Wagyu. Speaking of Wagyu, I'm quite certain that I also saw specific freezers with Japanese A5 Wagyu too. Will have to return to confirm. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Shout out to Luka , who did an excellent job holding/reserving the picanha for me in the freezer after my calling ahead of time. Bonus: we also grabbed some pre-made garlic bread, which was mostly the Mrs. idea, but a wonderful move. All we had to do was heat them back up in the oven, then they came out even better than the cheesy garlic breadsticks, you get from pizza shops. I think this place is going to become one of my new go-to butcher shops. Way beyond the basics. Place is casual but well kept. Can't wait to come back and try the elk. My folks are already requesting it. Edit with Shameless plug: scored the featured photo at the time of this writing! W00t!

Every Sunday, we typically go to their deli and order lunch. The sandwiches there are absolutely mouthwatering. Today, the special was Smoked Prime Rib French Dip on Semifreddi sourdough, with horseradish sauce, onion jam, and Mommy V's homemade au jus, and it was simply out of this world! The meat was cooked to perfection, and the au jus was the best I've ever tasted! Compliments to everyone at this wonderful family-owned business!

We had a dilemma and needed 2 cases of short ribs we purchased from another place, cut flaken style for a luau. This was the last place we tried and were out of hope . No one in Tracy would help, but this place did it for us and we're so grateful! From here on we will buy our meat from here cut to the size we need. God bless this family!!!

    Monthly sandwich special (tri tip)

My husband has been stopping by here when in the area for work, and one day he brought me by. We got the special of the month (which was a spicy tri tip sandwich), and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I have ever had... and I don't usually get excited about tri tip like my husband does. The meat was super flavorful and moist, the spice had a good little kick, and the bread was perfect. Beyond the great food, another thing that makes this butcher shop stand out is the amazing service. All the folks are super friendly. Must stop if you're in the area and craving a good sandwich!

Great, well-stocked butcher shop that's like a deli too. They have daily sandwich specials. All the meat in the cases looked great, will have to come back to try some. Our Italian sandwich was delicious, done right. Sandwich held together, no sliding around. Great bread. Will definitely come back!

Our family recently decided to eat out less, and instead cook at home with high quality cuts of meat from local butchers. Which is how my wife and I found ourselves in our old hometown last Friday, paying a visit to Livermore Butcher Shop. We immediately noticed there was a nice ambience to the place. It was clean and well organized, with none of the off-putting smells that one often encounters at butcher counters inside grocery stores. After browsing a bit, we spoke to the friendly lady behind the counter and told her what we wanted to make - beef stew for our extended family of ten, and chorizo burritos for the four of us. She recommended the beef stew meat and suggested we buy four pounds, and one pound of chorizo. Both were about $10 a pound, so we spent a bit over $50. The next morning, the missus cooked the chorizo with eggs, onions and spices, and rolled up some yummy burritos by adding in shredded cheese, salsa, and other fixings, just the way she used to when she lived in Texas. We got eight burritos out of the one pound of high quality chorizo we had purchased for about $10 the previous afternoon. They were all delish, and way healthier AND cheaper than eating the same at a restaurant! Later that evening, we made a HUGE pot of hearty and flavorful stew from the high quality beef we had purchased the day before. This was another hit (no picture, sorry!) and was enjoyed by our extended family at our weekend family get-together. Thank you, Livermore Butcher Shop, for serving our community and feeding our family so commendably. We will be back!

3 bone in ribeye steaks, about 2" thick, a total of 5.25# of steak.

Does this location sell pasture-raised pork lard?

I honestly don't know, but you can call Andrew, the owner, and ask. He's the best, and you'll get a straightforward answer from him! Good luck!

Hello Martha, we do sell whole rabbits there is 1 in stock now and we can always order when you need it Sincerely Livermore Butcher Shop.

Does this place accommodate custom cuts with advanced notice for pick up? Example, I'm hoping to make my own guanciale so I need several skinless pork jowls. Also, looking at making my own prosciutto, so I need several skinless rolled pork belly.

They told me they do custom sausages so they probably would do what you are looking to gave done I suggest you call them and ask

Does this place sell grass fed and finished beef? If no, where is the nearest place from San Ramon I can find a butcher shop that sells 100% grass fed meat?

    Is the meat sourced locally?

Hands down the yummiest pastrami sandwich I've had. Yelp reeled me in with a picture I saw on yelp…read moreI had to try! I was pleasantly surprised with delicious combo of the filllings! Some type of jam, pickles, peppercini, and grilled onion. I chose it to go on sourdough. The sandwich itself took about 15 minutes for them to make and it was served hot. I will be back again!

Something made me think about Katz's Delicatessen in NYC and I suddenly craved a Pastrami sandwich…read more I was excited to find Mirchi nearby and a locally beloved pastrami with interesting ingredients. Location is near the Mirchi cafe on Fremont Blvd in the plaza right next to Wonderland smoke shop. There is plenty of parking. Staff was super nice and helped me open the stuck door that you have to pull really hard on to get in. The market is small but curated and I was drawn to the imported potato chips. I picked up a bag of Lay's Masala chips I haven't had since I was in Mumbai, excited to eat it with my sandwich. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to make and panini-press and smelled delicious. However, when I got home I immediately noticed the color and thought they had mistakenly used roast beef. I looked at some of the other reviews and their doordash image and I'm confused on what I got. The pastrami was missing the distinct reddish-pink color from brining and black bark from smoking, I'm not sure how it was prepped in-house but it tasted like roast beef. I did enjoy the blueberry jam and pepperoncini combo.
