Let me begin by giving a shout out to an invisible CSA, or customer service All Star All by phone-a gent named Dan or Dave. He was kind enough to grab a particular chocolate bar that is absolutely out of stock at at least 3 to 4 other locations I've tried closer to me. I was in the area, so I thought I'd call ahead to this particular store. To my surprise a gentleman named Dan or Dave answer the phone and put me on hold and was kind enough to go and hold some of the product upon my arrival. And while I want to give him a lot of credit for that, this store was absolutely nuts! I've never seen the sheer volume of people that were in here. There must have been over 3 to 400 people in this store, and that's probably on the low end. Absolutely every single cashier had a line going back at least midway through the respective aisles. You couldn't make it up. I called the store back to thank the gentleman who took his time to grab me the product, but told him with the best tone of appreciation I could muster up that there's no way in the world I was going to do half an hour to 45 minutes in line to get out of there with a few candy bars. Lol This location must be the most popular thing this side of the pyramids of Giza on Sunday afternoons. Suffice to say they won't be seeing me again on this particular day. I don't even know if additional staffing would make a difference. Best of luck to those who call this particular Trader Joe's their home store. read more

Pretty much if you've ever been to a Trader Joe's, you've been to all of them, as each location is very much the same in what they have to offer. This business is no different. It offers all of the stuff that Trader Joe's is known for putting out onto the marketplace. In terms of this particular location, this is a large store. But, more than simply being a large location, this is a very busy Trader Joe's. There's always tons of people here. This isn't a big deal, because they actually keep the store very well staffed. So, you'll never be waiting too long in any of the lines or anything like that. But, just keep in mind that there will, more than likely, be a lot of people shopping anytime you go in. What I like about this location is that they have a very large selection of flowers. They even have some very nice exotic flowers that you commonly don't find at some of their other locations. So, if you're looking for that special bouquet that you need to present to somebody, this may be your place to go. Similar to the amount of shoppers one may find inside this location, the parking lot for this store can become quite a mess. This Trader Joe's is located within a large strip mall, and there's several other businesses adjacent to this store. Thus, their parking lot does not only catered to Trader Joe's, but it also caters to the other businesses, as well. Meaning, sometimes, particularly during peak hours, this parking lot can become a bit of a mess. Just something to keep in mind. Overall, like I said, if you want what Trader Joe's has to offer, and you're in the Manhattan Beach area, this may be your place to go. read more

It's one of those stores I don't mind popping into, even when I just need one thing. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the vibe feels way more relaxed than most grocery stores. They have a great selection of unique snacks, frozen meals, and seasonal items. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality, and I love that I can grab something quick and interesting without spending forever shopping. Definitely a go-to grocery spot for me. read more

The Baseline: For a grocery store it must have a wide selection of items, the produce/bakery/meat selections must be fresh, the store aisles need to be clean/organized, the traffic flow must be logical, the prices must reflect the value, and the service from staff must be good. Food: This is Trader Joe's so it is going to have a variety of grocery items not considered standard by major grocery chains. The items I come to expect to be available from a TJ store are typically there and I get some good finds. On my visit all the produce items and meat items looked fresh and of good quality. The things I probably didn't need but were fun to find were bought. I got ears of corn, flowers, and half-n-half which were of good quality. Service: All the store staff were friendly and helpful looking for items we came in for. Register check was quick and efficient. Ambiance: The aisles were cleaned and stocked, well organized on my visit. The flow of the aisles are in a grid were functional to the flow of traffic making selections. Price: Trader Joe's has some really good value items but it is based on quantities with a 2-3 member household ratio. I had no complaints about my bill. read more

This Trader Joe's location isn't my favorite so far. Both times I've visited, it's been very crowded, and several items I was looking for were out of stock, which made the trip a bit frustrating. I also noticed that the cashiers weren't as friendly as I've experienced at other Trader Joe's locations, though that can vary by day and time. That said, I've only been here twice, so it's possible my visits just caught the store at less-than-ideal moments. I'm open to giving it another try to see if the experience improves. read more

One of my go to locations. The parking lot is shared by lots of other big store businesses like Barnes and Noble, REI, and Old Navy. The weekends are always busier so plan accordingly. The cashier's are all always friendly and most of the time they have their sample and cart set up near the entrance. read more

My preferred location is the Trader Joe's near USC. I went to this location out of convenience since I was in the area. Perhaps it was because I went on a weekend but it was super crowded and the layout it's suitable for when it is. The customer service is friendly and the lines move quickly but I'll avoid shopping there in the future. read more

I haven't shopped at this location is awhile. I decided to pick up some fruit and Mandarian Chicken. This was on the weekend; the store was very busy.I wasn't sure what cold freeze it was located. I proceeded to walk into Trader Joes. I then proceeded to the right to pick my fruit. I noticed an older white gentleman with a blue hat on. He was doing something with products on that isle. As I got closer to have him direct me to the chicken in the freeze, I was met by this stern, mean, look, coming from this person. He didn't utter a word, but his demeanor and look said it all. This look made me feel like I was not wanted in Trader Joes, or anywhere around him. I kept walking. I looked away. When i was safely pass him (about 25 feet) I looked toward his direction again. He was still giving me this hard, glaring stare, watching me. I finally found my items and proceeded to the front of the store to check out. The male cashier made small talk with me. I described my encounter with his co-worker. He looked like he knew who this person was in which I had the unpleasant encounter. This cashier kinna shrugged it off. This is something that I didn't appreciate. I'm not sure of the person in question had an unpleasant encounter with another customer. I went in for groceries after having a bad weekend. The Trader Joe's employee asked what i did this weekend. I couldn't come up with anything to say besides the truth, which is that my grandmother passed away on Saturday. After bagging my groceries the employee left and came back with a bouquet of flowers. This TJ's is fine--it's a smaller buildout than some other TJ's with less shelf space but they try to keep things filled. It's not my regular TJ's, but I stop in here when in the area for the famous TJ Tuna Wrap and sometimes pick up some other things. I am going to give you some million dollar advise: Do Not park in the first row near the store--I am not there often and in the few times I have been over the years I have witnessed cars backing out of spaces and hitting other cars backing out, other cars parked, and many close calls--seems like every time I am there there is a car incident. To get more spaces in, they put the rows too close together and with many people in South Bay owning large SUV's these days--it's not optimal. Best practice is to park as far away from the store as possible where no one is parked. That's what I do. I am telling you! Also in the shopping center is my favorite REI. There is also a Barnes and Noble and the Vitamin Shoppe. read more

I know it is a corporate chain and all but, this location sets itself apart from others as I have found that parking in this shopping center is not "driver's test-like complicated" as other locations tend to be! The employees at this one seem happy, courteous, and helpful. I've been twice last week on weekday afternoons and the shelves are stocked well. As I was picking up some salads, I overheard the employees meticulously reviewing expiration dates on the shelf and multitasking in helping customers. I've not really observed other grocery stores going over expiration dates and making sure products are current. Cashiers are smiling and efficient. I like their music playing as I shop. I was staying at a nearby hotel for business and looked around on Yelp for some decent healthy breakfast options and I found Trader Joe's. I'm no stranger to Trader Joe's. I like what they offer. Good produce. Decent vegan options. Friendly employees. This Trader Joe's was like many I've visited before. Pressed a bit for time and hungry for breakfast I knew the game plan. Peruse the perimeter where all the fresh good stuff is (produce, salads, nuts etc) and explore the interior "if there's time". You see I travel a lot. When I see a decent place I can get healthy food I tend to get way too much. However I restrained here. Got a banana (yes you can get one, lady employee who checked me out asked if it was organic or not. Confessed I had no idea. Difference in price maybe $.07? Don't recall what she charged me but yeah it's ok) also got organic blueberries, a salad and a veggie wrap for later. I looked around at the frozen items (I always like seeing what vegan options each store carries) and went to the checkout. It was fast, I brought a bag. Off I went. Shout out to Michael! So, I went to the TJ's at Torrance located on Hawthorne Blvd to exchange a box of mistakenly bought white zinfandel (I intended to buy merlot.) They shot me down saying they can't take it back without a receipt. (Yeah, okay, so I didn't have a receipt.) However, research revealed TJ is to accept any returns even without a receipt for store credit in the form of a TJ gift card. I gave this argument to their manager (or whoever I spoke to) but no cigar. It was upsetting. I decided to give it a try here and spoke to Michael. (I suck at names, but I'm confident that's his name.) Gave him the general gist of my situation. His response: "No problem. We can do a quick exchange." He didn't require anything else other than checking to make sure all the bottles are in the return box. He even located the correct box of merlot for me and transaction complete! This Trader Joe's is in a large strip mall in Manhattan Beach. There is plenty of parking and the aisles are very large so you won't feel cramped. They have all the same produce and products as most Trader Joe's, but we really like this one. It is just easy to get in and out and the staff is super friendly. I love Trader Joe's for their selections and reasonable prices. This store shares outdoor parking with Barnes and Noble, Pier One, Old Navy, and REI. There's also an Office Depot close by. For those having trouble finding parking, the Office Depot lot a few steps away always has empty spots. This Trader Joe's has a lot of registers, but seems to be crowded most of the time. I stopped in today, and must remember to avoid this store on Sundays. Lines were super long and it was hard to maneuver around. But I found the Greek olives that I needed for a Mediterranean chicken dish that I want to make, and it was only $1.79 for the package. I got 2 at that price, especially after leaving Bristol Farms down the street where their olives were $10.99/lb. Once I got to the front of the line, I was greeted by a friendly checker who did the transaction in no time at all. read more

Visited this TJ's on a Thursday afternoon around 2:30pm, plenty of parking and there was not a line to enter the store. Walked right in and saw that the shelves , meat , and produce were fully stocked. Everybody was socially distancing and they had arrows guiding you to the front when you were ready to check out. This store felt like it had a more open floor plan for shoppers. Everybody who worked there was kind and helpful during my visit. Had lots a snacks to stock up for a longer weekend. Everything from organic beef patties , dried mango in a smaller package ( Costco's is just way too huge and overpriced ) to marshmallows that vegetarians can enjoy (no gelatin) Vince was my checker and he was kind and engaging. There's a quite a few TJs by the beach and I have to say that this trip was one of the smoothest experiences I've had at a TJ's in years. read more

Not all TJ's are alike. the Manhattan Beach location is great! Why? Because parking is plentiful, staffing is friendly, shelves are stocked, location is clean and they have quite a few food and drink sample stations going at the same time. This is the second year I've hunted for the TJ Surprise Package. What is a surprise package? It is a sealed package containing 3 TJ shopping bags. Why is this so great? Because! it's $2.99 (yes, $1 per bag as you would pay if you bought it separately) BUT the surprise it each surprise package has bags from various TJ locations across the continent. Last year, I got a bag from Boston MA, New Mexico and Portland OR. FUN!!! It makes great gifts to exchange in the office or with clubs or even if you bought ONE, you have the surprise of locations. As always, their product line is great. Sadly, I live 2500 miles away from the closest TJ and purchasing frozen products would present a problem for me. Their dry goods, produce and wine selection are great and even if all I do is browse and enjoy, I'm happy with that. The MB location has decorated their store with "local" MB design, theme and décor! One of my favorite stores!! I always make sure I find one in any city that I travel to. I didn't need much on this trip and I was literally in and out within 5 mins. Mid day is pretty ideal as it's not super busy. I always have a pleasant experience whenever I go to a Trader Joe's. I also love how their vegan/vegetarian products continuously expand. Every now and again I like to update my reviews on some locations. This is by far the best trader joe location I love to visit. I love the cashier's and other workers who are busy on the floors. They give me a good lesson when it comes to customer service because although they are extremely busy they are never to busy to help a customer. Austin was of such great help this evening (5:25pm 4/10/22). My husband and I have been searching high and low for organic ready to cook brown rice. It's frozen and microwavable in individual bags. We can't seem to find any regardless of the location. Austin took the time to explain to me what's going on with the product and even recommended another for me to try in the mean time. I love this location and it's employees like him that keeps me coming back and also recommending this location to others. read more

I was outside the store for a bit looking at the plants and I noticed they had two employees outside directly people to go inside I assume in case people assumed it was packed (which it wasn't) and it was a line forming to get in. I love visiting this Trader Joe's when I'm here in MB visiting my daughter. They have such a beautiful, large collection of house plants and seasonal items. It is always well stocked with fresh produce and the store is clean and tidy. I especially love how friendly the employees are. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Diana and Carl for doing everything they could to find a specialty item for my daughter this morning.
