(I'm actually eating a tray right now!) -Almond Ginger Bar Soap - I'm usually not a bar soap advocate but I really like this soap. It's mild, lathers well, and has a nice scent that's hard to get sick of HOWEVER.. I've recently had some yucky things... -Garlic pasta sauce - trust me, I LOVE garlic. I want to go to Gilroy's garlic festival and eat to my garlicy hearts content... but really, this made my spaghetti noodles not so enjoyable. My nose felt like it was burning. I highly, highly recommend Mrs. Gooch's spaghetti sauce (find it at Whole Foods) and for the record, I like TJ's other sauces -Almond butter - we go through a couple jars of peanut butter a month and almond butter sounded intriguing. This is the worst Trader Joe's I have EVER been to. It looks like a hurricane is coming and the shelves have been ransacked to store up for bad weather. They never have items fully stocked. Every time I come here they don't have what I want, I go out of my way to avoid this location entirely. This TJ's has everything you need. The managers are friendly and the stockers will stop whatever they are doing to track down your product and let you know when they expect it in. TJ's no longer sells Emergen-C. Seasonal products are one of my favorite parts about TJ's: the pumpkin products galore, seasonal Joe's Joes, chocolate advent calendars, chai powder products, gingerbread latte mix, canned pecan pie filling - I could sit here and list them all. Some of my staple favorites are the frozen tamales - green chile and cheese are top notch! The frozen shelled edamame are convenient and delicious. The butternut squash risotto, schoolhouse graham cookies, dark chocolate peanut butter cups, almond milk, white cheddar popcorn and dried cranberries. The packaged spinach and canned garbanzo beans are the best deal amongst the grocery stores. I don't buy TJ's fruits and veggies (other than the packaged spinach) anymore- they are overly priced and not as fresh as those at Sprouts. TJ's is great for yummy treats, frozen products, wines, dairy products, and snackaroos. Sadly, this store has eliminated a number of it's canned vegan soups - they have been moved from shelf stable to the refrigerated section with the prepared foods. The cashiers are incredible and always have nice things to say. It is amazing when people share their happiness with you - thanks TJ's! There is usually plenty of parking during the day but come the holidays though you should expect more difficult parking and lines down the aisles. Don't forget to bring your own bags! read more

I like Trader Joe's. It's not overpriced and flagrantly yuppie like Whole Foods. Not everything tastes good and not everything is cheap, but a lot of it is decent. This location doesn't have the canned Dolmas that I love, but I can still buy a healthy, satisfying lunch for roughly $4. Thumbs up. read more

Trader Joe's is truly one of the best of the higher end grocery stores. A great place to pick up good wines, nuts, fruit, veggies and other basics. I used to love the one on Marine, but the parking there is so limited ... I moved. We still go to Ralph's for regular shopping, but TJ's is a regular weekly stop. read more

The one downside of this Trader Joe's is due to its obvious popularity, it's very packed and crowded. I came here not to do basic grocery shopping, but to buy a bottle of whiskey for a friend of mine as a last minute gift. Selection: ~ Their alcohol selection is surprisingly large! Especially the variety of whiskey they have on offer. A lot of it were common whiskeys that I have seen when living in he UK but rarely come across in the States. Comparatively speaking, this Trader Joe's isn't that large but they don't sacrifice on variety. Customer Service: ~ I would assume this to be the main reason why this branch of Trader Joe's is so highly regarded among the community. The employees are wonderfully kind and pleasant to deal with. They love making conversation and working to brighten your day. It's a shame that I'm not from the area, otherwise this branch of Trader Joe's would definitely be my go-to spot for groceries. Located at a shopping square with ample parking, there's really no reason why you shouldn't make this store your regular. The only thing is - beware the queues and the crowds! I just happened to be down in this neighborhood, and needed a quick salad before a soon to be appointment two blocks away. Parking was easy (when I was there), customers were courteous, employees as friendly as ever. All in all, I love the vibe of the southbay, and this TJ lines up with my city perceptions. read more

My favorite TJ's in the area. The store is larger than the other TJs in MB and RB and carries some items that I can't find at the other ones (such as certain wines & larger flower selection). Parking is easiest at this one compared to the other MB & RB locations. The staff are all very friendly, which is a plus. read more

This Trader Joe's is always crowded. Actually I think they all always are! Good stuff.. Organic, healthy.. Some premade stuff you can just cook quickly. We love this Trader Joe's! We just need to avoid the crowded times to shop there. Decent number of parking, however there are number of other stores near by so you just need to avoid the rush hour for grocery shopping. This TJ is bigger than the other locations near by and because it is bigger, they have more items and aisles are bigger to move around. Just avoid going there at rush hours... Sunday and Monday afternoons. Otherwise, this place is great! read more

TJ is my usual after gym stop on my way home and it def helps it's across the street. The staff is always so friendly and enthusiastic. I mean, they are all busy stocking all the great goodies and will drop everything to help you. Every TJ I've been to is crowded bit I guess that means their business model is working. This location has better parking and selection than Manhattan Beach Blvd and Aviation. It helps that there is so much to do in this plaza if you feel like it; Bevmo, Barnes and Noble, Pier 1 Imports, REI, and Old Navy. read more

Of course Trader Joe's is a great specialty grocery store (regardless of location), but this specific store is the best TJs I've ever been to. Not only are the sushi, wine, produce selections great, but the outgoing-ness, friendliness and pleasant demeanor of the crew made the shopping experience even more rewarding. Since the Seahawks played (and won) their playoff game earlier today, I was wearing a 'Hawks shirt. Four times I was politely asked by the crew about the game and we had a couple of nice, brief conversations about the NFL playoffs. Other customers asked too... TJs is always a good experience, but the friendliness of the crew made it great. I'm staying in a nearby hotel due to flying out on a business trip tomorrow but I will definitely be back! read more

I'm upset with this TJ's - back in the day before I made any real money (2004), the major LA supermarkets went on strike and in support, I began shopping here. What made them different from the stores on strike was their respect for employees and customers. Although I spent much more money than I had, I felt good supporting a business model that had employees that enjoyed being there. Even after the strike ended months later, I continued to return to TJ's for their selection of foods and excellent customer service. Fast forward to today. It was busy as usual and the cashier was awful! Unfortunately, many are no longer that friendly, but you, Kirk, should not be around people. Didn't say hi, threw, yes (really) threw my items on the counter after scanning them. I brought my own bags and ended up bagging everything by myself. Instead of helping me, he began to scan and throw the next customer's purchases onto mine. Lame. If you value customer service, your best bet is probably the one in South Redondo - still not like it used to be, but better for sure. Their parking blows, though. TJ's are pretty much the same no matter where you go. With that said, I will say that I like this one more than others. The place is clean, the restroom is clean, staff is friendly, the parking lot is bigger than most and hey it's in Manhattan Beach; what's not to like? If you're in the area stop by this one. The parking here can be hit or miss since this TJs is in a center with several other busy businesses. It is relatively small on the inside and not everyone extends shopping cart courtesy when moving around. Folks also tend to hover too close to the products on the shelves, blocking your view of what you need to purchase. This, I am sure is another result of it being so cramped in there on some days. All in all, I am still a TJ fan. They alwyas have what I need and the staffers are friendly enough. read more

Great location with easy parking, lots of space and lots of open registers. They have a place in front of customer service with an alphabet magnet bard and children's books which is nice for when I have my toddler with me. I just love Trader Joes. LOVE it. Charles Shaw wine is around 2.50 or 3.00 a bottle?? I don't drink it, but I will ABSOLUTELY use it for recipes! They also have a sparkling wine for 4.99 that is perfect for Saturday morning mimosas. Their orange, peach, mango juice is delicious (on my second one this week...) and they have a great deal on basil. My favorite grocery store in the area - hands down. read more

I love TJ's for 2 reason great prices and great service. This location has a really hard working staff that is always smiling and willing to help. The selection is small, but the quality is great for most everything we get. Since moving down here this has been my go to TJ's. Unfortunately, it seems like it's everyone else's too and this place is super crowded all the time. The line isn't bad, but there are just tons of people walking around and shopping here and this place is not a big place. Also parking is just weird here and just hard to fund especially on busy times. Anyone have suggestions on times when it's NOT busy? Also, the first time I came here, I asked one of the workers if he can help me grab something high, he gave me a dirty look and didn't really want to help me. I know he was probably busy restocking stuff, but I'm sorry I'm vertically challenged. And how bout if a person on a wheelchair needed that item? How are they going to grab that item themselves? Only the second TJ I've been to but in my opinion a very good grocery store. Everything is pretty well organized and easy to find, huge plus for me. The store itself is well lit, not cramped, has lots of parking and the staff are very helpful. If you've only been to the usual everyday grocery stores like Vons/Ralphs/Albertsons/etc. this may seem like an odd place to you. It's roomy but not huge as they only carry food items and some plants (nope, no toiletries/paper goods/laundry or cleaning supplies). The food is great, they have an interesting variety and all the produce is very fresh. You can also find some prepared salads/sandwiches/etc. for a quick meal. I like that they have some really cool alternative choices like agave nectar instead of just maple syrup (try it!). You can often find fruit/vegetable plants and flowers for sale here. For the most part prices are a bit above the "norm" of regular grocery stores but you're getting fresh and organic here. They also tend to run quite a bit cheaper than Whole Foods. Also they carry some specialty items at a lower price than if you went to a specialty store to get (ex. I usually get mochi at the japanese stores for $5 or $6 but found it here last week for only $3!!!) read more

I love Trader Joe's and this is my favorite location. It's definitely the one I go to the most. It helps that it's right across the street from my gym, but this one seems to be less hectic than other TJ's AND they have good parking. There is always parking available in this huge lot (which is shared with Barnes and Noble, REI, Old Navy etc), so I don't have to circle around and look for a spot. I also think this particular store is a little more spacious than some of their other locations, so even at busy times, it doesn't feel like a mad house. I was really excited to grab some fun things today but I left this store disappointed and full of anxiety. When I've gone here a few times before, chaos was inevitable because the store is so popular, but I expected more organization today considering the pandemic we are in. However, there is zero social distancing from customers or the employees stocking and no capacity limit. So despite the confusing arrows on the ground everywhere, no one is following guidelines or enforcing them, except for at check out. And when I noticed a man walking around the entire store with his mask on his chin while talking on the phone, I let a cashier and manager know just in case and they brushed it off and did not care. It's extremely unsafe and I felt unsupported, so I highly recommend a different location, especially if you have underlying health conditions. read more
