I stopped in here just based on the name. Andronico's is a mix of Trader Joe's with an old school deli/grocery store. Price wise it wasn't much different than most grocery stores, but their select of snacks, produce, and meats offers a much more unique variety of imports and smaller brands. We came here and just hit the snack aisle, but we did walk around just to window shop. A fully stocked bakery, liquor section, overflowing produce and their deli was very impressive. Filled with pasta salads, couscous, meats, cheeses, and other tasty items perfect for a beach picnic. This is a great place for visitors to load up their Airbnb's or stock that hotel mini fridge. read more

We were in Monterey for the weekend. It was such a delight to have this grocery store close to where we stayed. They have cakes, flowers and pretty much anything you need. Just had a horrible experience at Andronico's. My special needs nephew came for lunch. The deli was out of his lunch and needed 10 minutes for his potatoes. I tried to take my nephew on a walk. Security told me I would get a ticket. I explained my situation and asked him not to give me a ticket. He said I would get a ticket if I walked off the property. I explained my situation to customer service and she offered nothing to help. I know they have parking issues but today the lot was 80% vacant. They had every option to do the right thing and refused to. It's really too bad. read more

Thank you Andronico's for making us a delicious cake for a special event. The cake was perfectly sweet, the whipped frosting was yummy, and it was made with the freshest strawberries. Perfect thing for me as a quick and easy lunch!! I have a number of food, allergies and sadly, even though I'm Japanese, Hapa, I am horribly allergic to MSG! Luckily, for me, this particular rule did not have any soy sauce or premarinated items with mono sodium gluconate in it! I was, however, able to get some chipotle, aïoli sauce for dipping And the gentleman behind the deli counter was very friendly and helpful. Everything was very organized throughout the whole store, and they had a number of unique, dietary restriction and organic items for me and my family! I will definitely come back here again next time we go to the aquarium! They even had cute little benches out in front with some takeout utensils so we were able to eat Relatively close to the aquarium and walk down the hill back to the aquarium. Hee read more

This is a nice size grocery store in Pacific Grove, belonging to the Albertsons network, so you know you can find Signature brand items as wells as Organic brand items. Their weekly flyer is a great way to find out what is on sale that week and what the best deals are. Their wine and beer section is very well stocked and their produce and meat department, very nicely setup. Lots of cashiers when it was time to check out. read more

Nice store. Good selection of foods. They have a public restroom. I stood at the deli counter for about 4 minutes and was not acknowledged. I walked away. The checkout woman was less than friendly. The store was clean. I won't be back. I can go to Walmart and get treated this way and pay less. And the Starbucks that's in the store (is closing next week) - the guy was rude, barely spoke to me and got my drink wrong. I've never been treated poorly by a Starbucks employee! This market is located just steps away from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We arrived in town earlier than the rest of our party so decided to stop by and grab a few snacks here. Parking is free for 90 minutes for customers. I really appreciated that they had a lot of items marked off at 50% if they were close to expiration. This saves money for customers and also helps prevent food waste. They have these discounted items in the deli and throughout the store but there's a concentration of these items in the back near the restroom. There are tables and seats in the front of the store if you want to eat your deli items there as well with trash, compost and recycling bins. I would recommend a stop here if you need a grocery store while in the aquarium. There are more food options here compared to the Aquarium food court. read more

This store is pathetic. If an item is on sale, they don't bother to restock it if they run out, so you are wasting your time trying to find it after the first day it goes on sale. They are constantly out of other items they should have in stock. The smell of the fish counter is overwhelming when you walk in the door. The only store that is worse is the Safeway in Pacific Grove. Nob Hill was a much better store. It's too bad they had to leave the location. read more

The sushi! It is the freshest, tastiest, sushi we've ever had. The rice, a key part of sushi, is perfectly prepared. and the salmon and tuna are so fresh! Kudos to the sushi chef, who's been there for years. When we come up from So Cal for a weekend, we try many of the great and varied restaurants in the area, but we always stop here at least twice for the sushi. This is for Starbuck's in Andronicos: Out of all Starbuck's, this grocery store location has the BEST black iced tea. It's rare to find a location that doesn't water down the black tea down so that it tastes like a Venti cup full of water with a few drops of tea. Great taste!! This review is for the Starbucks staff. I enjoy grabbing an iced latte a few times a month from here because the drinks are always consistently good. I stopped going at other Starbucks because it seems they no longer care if the drinks are made correctly or not. The staff here put in the effort to make sure the drinks are done right. As for Andronicos goes I do enjoy the hot bar breakfast items as well as the ice cream aisle. Store is always clean and well maintained. read more

Overall, this is a pretty good market. Prices are on the higher end but product is generally good. I like the location. One thing I will say is when I buy milk in paper cartons, they are always wet, dirty, and the print on the side of them gets ink all over your hands, and sometimes the seals are peeling. This may be an issue with delivery. Lucerne in particular. Nevertheless, something should be done about it. It is rather bothersome when you are shopping in the store. Convenient grocery store located in same parking lot as Carl's Jr. The parking lot isn't too big, we had to park at Carls Jr. The store is on the smaller side and seemed crammed, there isn't much room trying to navigate through the isles, especially around the produce section, well actually, the whole store. Other than that, they have just about everything you need. In my opinion, they are on the expensive side. You can use your member card here for a discount. They have a deli that sells an array of delicious food. Staff was not the friendliest but they were fast at the cashier. They have a Starbucks inside and were selling Christmas items. read more

I went to Monterey Bay on December 29, 2022 for the first time and went into Andronico's Community Markets to buy sandwiches (I got the proof of purchase). I've made the purchase on 2:19pm. My wife called me and I needed to walk down to help her. When I come back, I've realized that I got a parking ticket at 2:44pm. As far as I know, I got at least 90 minutes of parking permit. However, somehow store manager or security clerk decided to write a ticket to me. I've tried to resolve the issue with store manager (Brian), which he was not helpful at all and clearly wanted to get rid of me. I don't know if you do this to all your customers, but this is not good and clearly a very bad service and experience. I don't think I will shop in Andronico's Community Markets again. Love coming here. Store is always clean and organized. Staff at registers, deli, bakery, hot bar and around the store are always super friendly & helpful. However the other night the register had a malfunction and the transaction had to be pushed over to the single standing register where the front end manager helped me out. I waited till my total was fully loaded onto the computer screen and saw the "insert, tap or slide" pop up on the smaller screen to place my Apple Pay. When I did my Apple Pay the system froze again to then the manager started punching the side of his head and smacking what I believe was the bottom register. I looked over at the other staff at registers (seeing if anyone else is seeing this grown adult crashing out) having their head down continuing scanning items like this was of norm. By that time the manager walked over & grabbed another customers cart and pushed it out of the way without saying anything to the other customer and took mine down to the register nearest to floral area. I followed him and all he said was along the lines "don't do anything till I tell you." He asked if I had the physical card with me which was in my car. I went out to retrieve it, after he started attempting to make small talk mentioning how old the system is and it doesn't do great with Chase cards. The transaction went through and said "Have a good night." Unsure if he was under a lot of stress from the day or what may have been going on with him but Forrest was completely unprofessional with hitting his head and the machinery. We all have hard days but we don't take it out on people. Other than the front end manager - all other staff are super friendly and amazing individuals! read more

I loved this place. Everything was extremely organized, and produce selection was great! I also specifically purchased a lemonade that is the store's brand, and it was PERFECT. Andronico's is a well-stocked grocery store. They have basically everything you need, and organic options as well. I came here since it was on the way (usually a TJ or Costco guy) and enjoyed their good selection of meat and produce. The only problems were the long lines and the pace of the sanitized carts. It is fairly popular so the queue gets a bit backed up! Prices are pretty average but helps if you have a Safeway card or membership # (seems they are affiliated)? if you're in the area or just visiting definitely give this place a try. This is owned by Safeway and is even more overpriced than a typical Safeway. Additionally, it is extremely small making the select super limited. I am fine with overpriced groceries if it's specialty items, but here the quality isn't there. It's just mediocre overpriced stuff. I witnessed a Senior Citizen woman getting some bad treatment from a little male employee. The Senior Citizen woman was pointing out a double charge on an expensive item and some other problems at checkout and askEd the clerk to call the manager. Little male employee-- not the manager--came running over telling the Senior citizen woman customer that he was going to have to ring up her already bagged groceries again and told her to wait off to the side while he went over to ring up someone else. Then when the woman manager was walking over to resolve the Senior woman customer's issues the little man employee intercepted the woman manager and apparently told her some lies about the Senior Citizen woman customer being a problem. So then the woman manager had incorrect information upon approach and was inappropriately aggressive to the Senior woman customer. The little man walked past aggressively again and again! The manager eventually told him to go to his office! This guy is a problem bullying a Senior Citizen woman and should be fired for it! read more

I'm not really sure why they have a deli. I think there's one nice guy behind the counter doing his best to make up for the others. I ordered a BLT. Not really that complicated. Guy gently placed two small leafs of lettuce on a bun and asks if I want Turkey. Huh? I commented that a BLT comes with bacon. He placed two small raw pieces on the sandwich and gave me a look like he needed approval. I asked if he could at least warm up the bacon. He looked confused. It almost seemed like this was the first sandwich he's ever made. Another time I was helped by a young lady who was extremely annoyed from the moment I said hi. Guessing she was having a bad day, it happens, I get it. I ordered the same thing, a BLT. She too acted like I was asking for the moon. It's got to be one of the simplest sandwiches you could make. Considering the price they charge for such a basic sandwich along with the headache of teaching them what a BLT is, I think I'll eat elsewhere from now on. read more

Stayed in Monterey for a night and always need / want some extra goodies for the hotel room. Water, snacks, etc especially in the time of Covid when hotels don't seem to have any extra's for you. This is a small local grocery store, but had whatever you could need. Of course a bit more expensive than say a chain grocery, but again you are in Monterey and everything is expensive there. It was an easy walk to many of the hotels, but also has a small parking lot. read more

If you are in a rush consider another store. They only ever have 1 register open and when busy they might open a second. (Might being key word) If an item doesn't scan they'll have you complete you purchase while they have someone price check. Then ignore you until either the line is gone or you ask to finish checking out. I suggest if anyone has this issue let them know you want it all one a single transaction and have everyone wait. Selection and cleanliness of store is fine; it's not a big store so if you are looking for unique items I suggest somewhere else. read more

Stopped by here for groceries after visiting the aquarium. It feels like a beautiful, local, friendly grocery store with premium products with premium prices to boot. Bought some ready-made sushi they create in-house and it was great. Also tried these cocktails in glass bottles called On the Rocks and those were beautifully packaged and tasted great. It's certainly cheaper than ordering the cocktails at the bar. If you have extra cash and want to try something new or grab lunch (sandwiches/salad/sushi/drinks) here instead of a sit-down restaurant (which gets pretty pricy down by the touristy pier), this is a great option. read more

This place is really neat; it is a little on expensive side for some items when comparing it to an safeway. They stock more interesting items that other chain grocery stores. It's definitely a place where you find find everything on your list. The apple turnovers in the fresh bakery section are tasty. I was surprised to see a more inclusive fruit section. If I lived closer, then this would probably be my favorite grocery store because they seem to have everything and more. read more
