Love this place. My favorite store and so close to my house. Im thankful I can find quality and unique products at great prices. During the busy season the parking lot can be hellish so many bad drivers be careful but on a chill evening or in the early morning this place is amazing. Most workers are really nice and helpful. First time in this particular Trader Joe's. It was "aight" (pronouced aww-ite). Nothing special. For these type of items and organic food, I prefer Sprouts or Whole Foods. The customer service at places like this is always iffy. And it proved to be on this trip as well. My husband is hooked on the fresh squeezed orange juice and I like the dried chile mango but I really LOVE (I wish Yelp had an italics/underline option) the milk chocolate jumbles...so maybe it's a good thing we don't come in here too often, because I'm hooked on those things. We only get a handful of items here and the employees seem to have bad attitudes. When we checked out, the young man didn't even look up at us or read us our total, let alone tell us "have a nice day." Probably won't be back very often, as we have better options available. read more

This is terrible that I just found that I bought Persian Cucumber at Trader Joe's in Palm Desert on this Sunday! I really like this store , so once in a while I pick up something from this store. But first time I got awful vegetable that they were selling in that store. I know I should check the packing date on this package which it says Package on 4/29. But even so, I can't believe this store is selling to Consumer to this package on their shelf ! Don't you checking up for that ?! It is disgusting ! I'm going to take this back tomorrow. This is the nicest T J's that I have been to. The staff is helpful like they are at all the T J's. We picked up a few items here, some sauces, the high caffeine coffee, some Spanish saffron, and some very nice vegetables. People watching is always nice at Trader Joe's as my wife tends to take a while shopping. Anyhow this is a very nice store, a stand-out among the T J's brand. read more

I've love the staff, they're wonderful and so is the selection of really great products. That said I will never again but their milk. This isn't the first time the milk has gone bad long before it's date on that container. I go directly home , less than ten minutes, and my refrigerator works fine . I only picked up after previous problems because it's convenient. Bringing an already open container of milk back to the store ( especially these days ) is just to much of a hassle . At any rate I won't bother buying milk at Trader Joe's again . read more

I go to this Trader Joe's several times a week. The employees are friendly, happy people and I always feel great when I leave. There is one lady who never smiles, is rather blunt, and exhibits none of the personality characteristic of the store. You may know of whom I speak. She has probably been there a long time, is a good worker, but is lacking in tact, diplomacy and plain on Trader Joe's warmth and friendliness. That won't keep me away, but I won't stop at the coffee pot if I see her serving samples. read more

I fear after many years shopping at different locations of Trader Joe's, we have come to a parting of the ways. My last trip there is the straw that broke the camel's back. I like the stores very much and all the salespeople are super nice and helpful. My huge gripe is that there are too many items that I purchase which must be thrown away because they spoil in a surprisingly short time. Even worse, I have opened an item on the day I purchased it and found it moldy. Years ago, I stopped buying Trader Joe's milk because it would be sour in three days, but that has been improved and I haven't experienced this in a long time. However, four days ago I spent $41.45 at T.J's and there is something wrong with three of those items. Came home on the day of my purchases and opened zucchini to cook for dinner; had to throw one in the garbage immediately. It was rotten and gushy. Had two uncooked left in the refrigerator and chucked them today, rotten. Another of my purchases was a package of cranberry bran muffins, 4 count. Used one and a half the next morning. Last night, all moldy, tossed them. Also bought a carton of blueberries and used a portion of them the next morning. Yesterday morning they were moldy and into the trash they went. It seems you must use T.J.'s food ( unless it is frozen) the day you bring it home. Exceed the speed limit getting it there, go directly to the kitchen, prepare and serve it and if you have to have dinner at 3:00 p.m. to eat it unspoiled, so be it. As with the zucchini, not even the immediate consumption will save all of it. I have not found this problem with supermarket purchases. There is also the hypocrisy factor. They talk the healthy talk, but if you read labels you will see that many of their products contain palm oil. Not good. This has been going on too long to tolerate and I will miss Trader Joe's to some extent but I won't be unhappy losing the frustration of thinking I have food to use and find all I can do with it is tote it to the garbage. read more

Oh how I love thee, Trader Joe's in Palm Desert Towne Center Way. I love your aisles that are more than 4 feet wide. I love your spacious and non-cramped interior. I love that you are never crowded. I love that your cheese and wine selections are at least twice as large as the ones in San Diego. I love that you are located in a strip mall next to a cookie store, some great local restaurants, and a cool hobby store. When I am out visiting in Palm Desert, I will make sure that this is one of my stops for my grocery needs. read more

If you are in the Palm Desert area for any extended amount of time, you will need to get some provisions and spirits here to see you through. (That is, unless you are about to check into Betty Ford... but even then...) I really do love this particular Trader Joe's with its madcap and hilarious septuagenarian patrons pushing around their carts in their golf togs and partially de-hydrated dead-ringers of Bob Mackie shopping for hemp seed granola! The staff is pretty friendly and dare I say "in on the joke" on the camp value of all the patrons and how seriously they take their dietary needs. I have shopped at this Trader Joe's a VERY long time / and it already received 5+ stars in my book for customer service, store layout and product availability. But truly - What has blown me away is through Covid and the limitations it has provided, every time I have come to the store through this pandemic I have been blown away with the positivity of every single staff member here. I have witnessed a team member dancing to the music being played, the staff members communicating with each other with laughter and smiles, and doing the same with their customers. Trader Joe's doesn't always have what I need but it always delivers excellent customer service. The Crew Members are always friendly and willing to help...and they do it with a smile. I've been shopping there for several years now and it's prices and products/produce are always competitive with other grocery stores in my area. To me, my PD store, almost has a Mom & Pop vive to it because of its Crew. A lot of it's Crew Members are locals to the area and might even know your name. Sure, there can be some hiccups, no one is perfect. However, when there is an issue, Mates are quick to resolve it. I've gone to the other locations and the PD store just seems to flow organically. Moved away to Dallas TX from the desert 15 months ago and boy oh boy have I missed Trader Joe's... Stopped in yesterday to grab a few favorites: Bruschetta, Gone Bananas, Fruit Floes, Peach Pops and milk!!! Everything was amazing. Store was clean and in order, check was awesome and fast. Went outside to head home with our goodies, car won't start!!! WHAT? A trunk full of frozen goodies and car won't start! 111 degrees outside, so what, 1140 in the trunk! Took our bags back into the store and the kindly placed our goods in the fridge and freezer! We called AAA, had the car towed, stopped back in Trader Joe's about 3 hours later and picked up our things, headed home and enjoyed our cool treats! Thanks Trader Joe's! YOU ROCK!!!! read more

I LOVE the customer service, they always have at least 4 lanes open! so nice and I love that they keep the rugrats in mind with the "Find Buster" (a stuffed monkey that the kids have to find in the store to win a sugar free lollipop or stickers..etc) P.S. easy recipe: Apple chicken sausage (sauteed with onions and garlic), bbq sauce, frozen corn and Moz cheese; all thrown on the instant dough in the refrigerated section. For the past three years, I have called the Corporate Office of Trader Joe's complaining about their Ginseng to no avail. It is green, dry and stringy. They told me they sell thousands a year, and have no problem. I told them that if their customers shopped in an Asian market or Sprouts they would immediately tell the difference. Ginseng is white, juicy and soft. Also I purchased 5 boxes of Pita Bite Crackers, (they say they come from Canada) 1/3rd of the contents in all the boxes were broken bit and pieces. When I told my guests, guess what they said? Trader Joe's doesn't care about what customers have to say, they do too much business to care. Well Whole Foods is coming to the desert, so we'll see what happens then. Normally a person can call the vendor to complain about something, but with Trader Joe's everything is "Dist. & Sold Exclusively By: Trader Joe's, Monrovia, CA.91016." Now I'm reading the other reviews here, and I'm wondering why they aren't "shaping up" and listening to their customers? By the way I have shopped at TJ for over 30 years, in L.A. West L.A. Nice sized Trader Joes with a well stocked store. Always have super friendly clerks and love to pick up some snacks there when in the desert. Be sure to bring your own shopping bags since Palm Desert has outlawed grocery bags! Will cost you 10 cents for a paper bag or buy a recycling one for 99 cents. read more

TJs is my favorite store !~I always go there first. NOW, however, I don't because social distancing is impossible inside. Please control how many people can be in the store at one time -- even if just during a special one-hour a couple of times a week for those of us who are in that 'elderly' category. I'm 71 and just won't go until I can see from outside that it's not crowded. It's the one place that is most likely to be crowded because grocery stores are the one place where everyone HAS to go ! I'm sad and disappointed that TJs hasn't stepped up to this emergency as other less-worthy stores have. I don't want to be limited to Walmart ! read more
