If you can, ride your bicycle here. I showed up during the COVID days so the lines weren't that bad. Better yet, on a weekday so I was allowed to enter without having to wait to allow for capacity to be kept under maximum. Hoping it wasn't because of the COVID days but there seemed to be a better variety of goods here. We played a fun little game at the socially distanced checkout where I put my goods closer to the cashier, then backed away. He rang everything up, then backed away. I paid via wireless payment, grabbed my receipt and goods, then went outside to bag em up. Don't bring a truck here when it's busy. Seriously. Is it strange to say a grocery store is gorgeous? I don't care. This location was gorgeous. There's a ton of flowers in the entryway and they were all so pretty. It was at that moment I knew I would love this location. Lol, the store is pretty big and so we'll organized and stocked. I came in on a busy Friday during lunch but I easily walked in and out. They had every register open and the gal that checked me out was sweet. The parking is a bit tricky though. The lot is on the smaller side so just be prepared to wait for someone else to pull out. read more

Our cashier was a wonderful man, who upon learning why we were there, (California from Arizona), for a family friend dying of Pancreatic Cancer, ran after us to our rental car, with a huge bouquet of flowers, for us to bring to the home we were heading. Just on here to give a product review on the chicken chow mein! This review is meant to reach a customer that is new to Trader Joe's that doesn't have much experience. Trader Joe's has great products. I just want to warn incoming customers to avoid the chicken chow mein due to it not measuring up to other frozen food items they have to offer. First, the bag says 3 servings. It's only one serving if it's a meal, and 2 if it's a side. You need to use more than 1 tbsp of oil to cook with (they are saying to use less because they want to keep the nutrition facts reasonable). It says to cook on high heat, so DON'T take your eyes off the pot because a good amount of noodles stuck to the bottom of the pan. The bell peppers were mushy as well. The noodles were okay and the sauce had an undeniable chow mein flavor. These noodles were not bad, but I'll probably fill my freezer with other things. I would possibly buy it again just not for awhile. read more

This is our favorite Trader Joe's in the Sac/Elk Grove area. Feels the most organized with great service. Parking is the main downside for this location - it's always borderline full, where you'll likely have to wait a few minutes to find parking. Not sure how their supply chain is organized, but they always have the Trader Joe's items we want in stock. I'd definitely come to this location during more off hours so you don't have to worry about parking. read more

7.6.2020 During this Covid-19 pandemic, Trader Joe's is is doing a really great job of practicing safety measures and allowing open spaces for social distancing when shopping and checking out. Staff are wiping down the shopping carts. They space put the number of patrons allowed in the store. There is an outside tented area for the waiting line. Staff are friendly and efficient. Tip: Shop in the morning. I went this Monday morning and there was no waiting line to get in. They will bag your items with their paper bags. If you want to use your own bags then they will put your purchased items back in the shopping cart. There is an outside, sanitized table where you can bag your own items. read more

I love this Trader Joe's and they are always fully stocked with food and other items. Staff have been responsive to assisting me when trying to locate certain food and drinks. It is quite busy so please be prepared to have a little patience inside. The check out lanes move pretty fast and often receive great customer service by the cashiers. The only reason I gave three stars is because of how horrible the parking lot is. It is often busy and hard to find parking. Every time I go, there is a line of cars waiting to park and get into the parking lot. People don't know how to drive and aren't looking in their mirrors when backing up. So please be careful entering or exiting. read more

Great produce, excellent selection of organic and natural products at very competitive prices, and super friendly staff. They also have good operating hours (not being one to get out of bed early to do grocery shopping). I love their frozen food section - there is literally something for everyone with every type of dietary requirement. COVID Review: The stores current occupancy is 35 people. Therefore, if there are more shoppers at a time you will be waiting in line to get into Trader Joe's. The line may seem long, but the wait goes by quick. People are in and out to get items needed. Most people are wearing masks (thank you) and are cognizant of spacing. The lines have markers to ensure you are standing 6 ft apart and the check out lines are taking precautionary measure to ensure staff and customer safety. A love/hate thing......Let me explain: I love shopping at Trader Joe's, probably for the same reason everyone on this planet loves to shop there. The friendly staff, the Trader Joe's branding of mostly all items; the new and old items you can only find at TJ's. I love how you can pick out 1 can of beer and they'll charge you for that one can. I mix and match a variety of beers every time, all the time. I hate shopping here, because I ALWAYS spend more than I intended to. Bye bye money :( Now let's talk about this location in particular: Yes, what everyone says about the parking is true; parking is difficult here. TJ has their own private lot and it is always crowded here. Sure, there are times where someone directs (points out) parking spaces, but traffic here is tough to navigate. I wish they would expand their parking. Other than the parking, this location is my local TJ's. When I find a reason to shop here, I will, and I'm always prepared to buy and spend more than I intend to. read more

Dear Trader Joe's Corporate and the City of Sacramento: The parking at this location is at a crisis point. I love the employees, products and prices, but what was once joked about as the worst parking in Sacramento is no longer funny. How to fix this problem won't be easy. But it's going to get worse before it gets better. The recently closed Burr's Creamery next door now serves as basically an extension of the Trader Joe's parking. Whomever owns the lot is wisely not enforcing their "No TJ parking" signs because that's the only people who park there. It's telling that even with that additional parking, there are still lines of cars spilling into the streets, honking and cutting each other off, to find space in both cramped and poorly designed lots. This isn't just during peak hours, this is almost anytime of day, seven days a week. I last visited on a Sunday, which is of course a busier day, and was witness to the following. Two people trying to get into the same spot in Burr's, leaning out the window swearing at each other. A line of cars six deep in the westbound center lane waiting to turn in behind a line of four cars in the eastbound lane with other cars speeding between them just to get down the road. A known employee circling fifteen minutes to find a spot. A truck clipping another cars bumper because it was trying to back out of a space built for the smallest European car you can imagine. It all adds up to not good. Someone is going to get hurt. At the very least, it's only a matter of time before there is a collision in the lot or the street that backs everything up until the main road closes. It seems like the only option is opening up TJ parking in the lot on the other side, but that lot is private and pretty full as well. There's no easy answers and that's above my pay grade anyway. I love Trader Joe's. I will be honest and say if you come in here with a list you might not be able to get everything you need. However the things you can get here are so good. I typically don't buy a lot of packaged foods... but when I do they are from Trader Joe's. Their frozen section is unmatched. The workers are nice, you'll typically get through the line quickly. There's always someone nearby who will open a new register when the lines are too long. I will always shop here. I went in yesterday to order flowers and was helped by Cait and Amanda. They were amazing and provided exceptional customer service, even though they were in the process of stocking fresh flowers. They definitely make taking care of customers a priority and honestly want to help. All the staff that I interacted with was friendly and welcoming as well. I went in today to pick up the flowers and they had everything in a cart ready to go. I ordered flowers from here before and the customer service was wonderful as well. I stopped by this location to pick up a few items on my way home. The guy at the door made an effort to greet everyone in front of me in their long line. Soon as I got to the front of the line, he simply asked me if I wanted a cart. This same employee on the walk out the store says something to everyone leaving. As I'm leaving, he says nothing. I don't really care for dealing with employees who are selectively friendly to customers. Now I remember why I haven't been to this location in years.... the staff here isn't as friendly as other locations. On top of that, the customers at this location are just as rude as the employees. Is this the unspoken rude area of Sac or something? Who shops or even works at Trader Joe's in a bad mood, anyway? The only positive was finding parking, which was effortless. While I always like getting stuff from Trader Joe's (especially flowers) I do not like the actual parking and shopping experience no matter which location. It's weird that every TJs you go to has the craziest parking lot and the rudest shoppers. It's like Black Friday - a line to get in the parking lot and people reaching right in front of you to grab things, seriously zero personal space. Word of advice: try to go early, during the week and avoid weekends. Aside from that, I love their selection of cheeses, alcohol/wine/beers, and their dips/spreads and exclusive TJ items like cat cookies, peanut butter pretzels, bon bons, and their dips and hummus. Their selection of flowers at this location cannot be beat and the prices are really amazing. I love this location because I love supporting my local east Sacramento businesses. I am a fan of their organization, their in stock items and their variety of groceries to choose from. The parking isn't bad when you arrive early to get your shopping in. It does tend to fill up quick as they tend to get very busy. I recommend parking on 49th Street or 51st if the lot is too packed. I have ran into an employee there named Michaella several times (at the cafe, stocking and checking) and she is wonderful at providing excellent customer service. Each time I see her or any of the other staff, I am always greeted with kindness and that is important for me as a customer. read more

This location of Trader Joe's isn't my usual store near my house, but I was down in downtown Sac and this friend told me about this wonderful Trader Joe product, so I just had to stop on in to get it here. The store is fine and laid out pretty much like most Trader Joe's and has all the same products. I wasn't super crowded when I went so that was good. The Trader Joe product I was looking for is called Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend. You know those bagels called the everything seeded bagels, that's sold with all the other flavored bagels, like salted, poppy seed or sesame seed, but has "everything on it? Well, what if you could have that mix, like the bagel shop to put on other foods besides bagels? I have to say, it really works and tastes wonderful by adding the texture of the seeds and a slight saltiness of sea salt. Yeah, there's some foods you really wouldn't want to put it on like a burrito or Chinese food, but where it REALLY taste good is like on buttered toast using all kinds of breads, or even pancakes! It's interesting on pasta, but the toasted breads are where it really tastes good. It's inexpensive, I forgot exactly how much but it was not much. Look for it at your local trader Joe's. BUT IT GETS NO WORSE... ...when you sell a product that isn't even the product as advertised. That's called fraudulent advertising. PUTTING THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE I do think it's important to put things in perspective and attempt some level "proportionality." For example, For years back in the 90s & 2000s, I loved both the jar & canned varietals of Trader Joes Dolmas. Then one day they *pulled* the jarred variety (and have never sold them since), and soon thereafter also pulled the canned variety. This really torqued me. But I am not going to rate a store on the basis of one product. HOWEVER, false advertising is another matter - and whether it be intentional or accidental - it's not cool to dupe people into buying a product as represented, only to find out that it is NOT the product you purchased. A totally different level of "dam, really?". THE LOWDOWN Oh. On occasion, I'll still be dropping into TJs to get my dolmas and Asiago cheese assortments, but it will be less frequent. Many choices at this store! My first time seeing the Niçoise salad and I must say it is now my favorite salad from TJ!!!' It is so good and fresh! The tuna with green beans and potatoes is the right texture combined along with their vinaigrette dressing! This TJ also has a plethora of beautiful fresh flowers to choose from, their floral area welcomes you as you enter their store.
