This has to be the most un-authentic Vallarta I've ever been to, nothing about it is what I recall of Vallarta from when I was little. The quality of foods at this Vallarta is very poor. Especially when it comes to their ceviche as well as to their hot bar. Today I purchased a grilled chicken combo with a side of canned refried beans, the beans tasted like canned beans- something that's been premade and prepackaged. The rice is dry. The chicken is dry. There's was even hair on the skin of the chicken. This is just very disappointing. Not just that, to top it all off you can tell that at this Vallarta the main motive is money, because everything is overpriced and the quality it's not worth the price. One thing that definitely made me review my experience was the work environment- which seem hostile. I witnessed when the manager of the store or the kitchen walked in and not acknowledge the workers -walked straight passed them; like he was king out of the hill. Up on receiving my food- the ladie serving my food, asked if I wanted a bag? I said yes, and then she proceeded to ask me to go pay for the bag- at the cashier. I explained to her that I was never offered a bag when I purchased my combo, so I found it a little bit annoying that she was asking me to go back to the register and pay for a $.25cent bag. The lady proceeded to honored me a free bag, even though her coworker was telling her how she was going to get in trouble by the supervisor or the manager for giving me a free bag which just correlates with my analogy of this place being in a hostile work environment place where superiority is completely approved by higher management. The fact that your own employees feel threatened to provide a customer with a small item that cost is zero to nothing speaks a lot about the way that management handles their employees and customer needs. Anyhow, this has been my local Vallarta for a long time, but there's a lot to desire from this location as I used to go to the location in Canoga Park on Sherman Way and their hot bar was completely better more fresh, the service and working environment seem a little bit more friendly. I suggest management revisit their management team and provide a little bit more collaborative, friendly and progressive work environment. read more

Decided to stop by to grab some limes for cocktails and remembered one of our friends (hi Daniel) recommended Vallarta limes. Parking is pretty awful, looks big but really isn't. The lanes are not one way and it's super squishy since people just drive down the middle and the lot is always full. Otherwise this market is fantastic! The amount of limes they had in stock and the size of them was like a dream lol. We usually go to Ralph's and sometimes we barely even get by with a few because they either have zero stock or they're not worth getting. We were also happy to see their Ube desserts!! It is not often that I get the opportunity to visit a Vallarta Supermarket. One of the main reasons is that there is none close by. However, when I do, I am overwhelmed at the selections of hot food, fresh vegetables, meats, seafood, and all other necessities that you get at any other supermarket. They also have large hot cases with all the favorites (and a separate one for a variety of tamales). These establishments are huge, well spaced, but can get crowded. This is more in the parking lot, because everyone wants to be here. Overall, the prices are much lower than traditional markets. And the vegetable and fruit quality including the wide variety of selections are hard to match. read more

Love this location! As a rule most Vallartas I've been to are clean and bright throughout. Also pretty well stocked and organized. This one is all of the above as well. Parking here is easy. Most of the employees I've interacted with have been nice and respectful. For some reason the burritos at this location are always super good! The aguas frecas here are all good as well. The only thing I'd complain about is the pan dulce has been hit and miss and not as many choices as a traditional panderia. I was out and about and decided I would check out Vallarta Supermarket! This location has plenty of parking and the minute I walked in I was impressed by both the vastness and organization of the store. I don't think I've ever seen such large selections and massive departments before! Huge variety of Exotic vegetables (and fresh garbanzo beans in their little shells. Lol I thought they just came in a can)! They have hot foods you can eat there...fresh selections of bulk cheese and huge bags of tortilla chips I never knew existed! Some almost as big as me! Bakery, juice and ice cream bar and cut up fruits ready to go! Staff were nice, helpful, cheerful and friendly. The store itself is energetic, bright and spotless! I found myself venturing into each aisle! I ended up grabbing a hot cheese and jalapeño tamale...which was one of the best tamales I've had and a very generous portion size! I came across Wisconsin Amish Country 2 pound rolled butter...(85% butter fat) who knew?! I'm a butter freak so this was a score! This is the best Vallarta in the valley! It's nice and big with lots of different options. My favorite is the ice cream and ceviche bar! It's so clean and bright and there were so many different things to look at! From fresh meat, to the deli and even ice cream. I got ceviche to go and the service was amazing. I took a number and was helped almost immediately. They explained all the different options to me and it was hard to not get them all. Checking out was fast and the food was delicious! The staff is always so friendly at the taqueria counter and I'm typically here at least twice a week. Their prices are usually pretty good and produce is nicely stacked and organized. Parking can be an issue when busy, but it's a big plaza so you will find parking, even if it's not close to the entrance. read more

Went in to order some food, the younger lady was nice and double checked our order, but she switched with an older woman to take our order and the older woman completely erased our order and got frustrated with us because she didn't know what buttons were for what we ordered. I like this location because it's large, clean and has a lot of great prepared food options both premade and made fresh like their dedicated juice/smoothie bar and made to order salsas and guacamole. I like to get a agua fresca before shopping also I have a treat while I shop for groceries and stay hydrated. They have a taqueria/carneceria where you can get plates, burritos, etc and they also have fried chicken on site and also make tortilla and tortilla chips on site. The tortillas always smell awesome. They even made bars here! Yes, a Ceviche bar, a Queso bar, a Juice bar, a Dulces bar, even a Sushi bar (?) , OHHHH AND THE BEST BAR - A GUACAMOLE bar!!!! That's right, fresh made, on the spot, exactly how you want it, guac!!!!!!!!! That's the awesome variety of food this location has! Wait, maybe it's not the Guac bar that's the best, it's the Dulces bar! Every flavor of fruit popsicle known to man (my favorite is still the strawberry), Gelato to candy apples, this bar has it! He made us prove that we indeed we bought expired Crema. I go to the aisle. Easy. There were 5 more still there dated 4/7. It's the 15th. He was adamant on no refunds without receipt. Okay. I called home. We dug in the trash. Found receipt. No ownership. No apology. He was literally arguing with me saying that we should be happy that we even got the exchange. I shop at Vallarta weekly. Today we spent $175. Not snap. My hard earned money. And we were treated with disrespect and like we were in the wrong. "I went to the store with my elderly mother, who is 74 years old. She asked a quick question, but we ended up waiting for 20 minutes. How long could it possibly take? What a wonderful Vallarta! It's huge, clean and the employees are super helpful. There's a large produce section that also includes several shelves of organics. The selection of dried chilies is impressive as is the 'have it your own way' guacamole counter. The guacamole is made right in front of you and you can include or exclude whatever you desire. The fish, meat and hot food counters were still busy when I arrived just a little after lunch time. So many choices, I wasn't sure where to look first. Going to THIS Vallarta is an elevated experience. Vallarta is a quintessential market for those that live in the area and have an ounce of appreciation for Latino food. Even if you aren't in in the market for fresh guacamole or tamales, you can probably save good money on very affordable produce. All this could be said for other Vallarta's around the area but this new location is very large and offers much more than the others. Besides the packaged goods, you have the option to pick up lots fresh hot food. The graph design is modern and reminds you of how mainstream Vallarta is and accessible to anyone. I've upload a few 360 pictures to Google Maps to give you an idea of the scale of this place. It's a real privilege to have access to this new large Vallarta as many of these items just would not be available in other markets like Ralphs or Vons. I checked out the store the Saturday after the grand opening and it was very festive. If you were in the right area, you could watch and hear a lovely mariachi. During my short visit, I barely scratched the surface, so I'll have to return to really get a comprehensive experience. read more

Service is very bad. They get my order at the cafe wrong almost every time. There's almost always a communication problem. I feel like it reasonable to expect someone, at least one person at the counter to be proficient in the English language. I also feel like they skipped making my order a few times bc I'm not of Latin descent. It seems employees throw attitude at my husband and I.. I hear and see them speaking amongst themselves each other often and once heard a derogatory term referencing my race. Needless to say, we've stopped going here. I don't usually go here, but it was on my way home. It seemed fine, although everything is so expensive these days. The store itself is spacious with a big selection, and they kept the a/c at a good temperature. The people working there seemed friendly enough. I bought a tub of Tofutti sour cream without looking at the expiration very carefully and realized when I got home that it expired that day. That is on me for not checking, but usually stores discount or sticker stuff like that. Some of the vegetables were starting to go "off," but I didn't see anything actually rotting aside from a few avocados, and we know how that goes. My main gross-out is the long dark hair I found in the packaged cut melons. I don't have dark hair, so it's not mine--it was just waiting for me when I unsealed the package. Ugh. I called, and they said I'd have to come all the way back in for a refund. They weren't interested in information from the label so they could track down whoever packaged it (he said it's always packaged day-of so they'll know which person it was just from the day I bought it, but the packages have different best-by dates, so I can't see how that's true).
