I'm not sure if they saw my review, but since then, so far when I've been in the store the personal care items have been accessible. It is still kind of an annoying setup to have to pay for toothpaste separately from everything else (and honestly I preferred to buy sanitary items from self checkout or a female cashier, and it's always a young man at this station so that's not possible), but I'm sure the employees don't like it any more than the customers do. It would be great if there could be some other option besides locking everything up. The local Smart N Final has personal care items behind glass and you have to press a button and wait for someone to hand it to you, so I guess having to walk into a cage and pay right there is better than that. The people at the pharmacy are very nice and accommodating. I really appreciate them. I haven't had any issues with the employees; in fact, most of them are very friendly. I'm not sure what some of the other reviews are on about. I maintain that everyone working here is friendly and it is a good store overall. Sometimes the produce is rotten and kind of yucky and sometimes there are items on the shelves past their "sell by" date, so just be sure to inspect everything. Sometimes I get rotten produce when I do pickup orders (especially disgusting bursting avocados), but it's easy to get a refund online. I have time to spare before my shifts start at 7pm, so I stopped by. It was kind of busy. I went straight to the dairy department to pick up creamer. They were on sale. Cool. I looked around before going to the register and I find the store to be clean, fully stocked, organized and no clutter. Self check out was closed - probably they do that at night. Watch the checkers carefully! They will rip you off! See my previous post about how they tried to overcharge me. Well, I stopped by tonight needing a few things. I really don't go often; my wife does all the family shopping. And it's just a block from my home. So this time I had three 1-gallon bottles of water on the belt. The checker picked up one and scanned it twice. Then the next one and scanned it once. I figured he'd just move the third over, but he scanned that twice! Then he looks at me and says, "That'll be $13.67" or whatever the total was with the few other items I had. I looked at the screen in disbelief, showing five lines for the water, and said, "Did you just scan five waters?" The checker didn't say a word. He just turned around and removed the extra two. What does that mean to you? He does it routinely! He figured since each item was only $1.67, I wouldn't notice the total is too high as I might if, say, he double charged me for a $40 bottle of whisky. Anyway, I type this with no fear of any claim Ralphs might have for defamation, or the checker, whose name is James, because this is exactly what happened and they for sure have it on video. Thieves! I'm a Ralph lady! I moved to canoga park from Montebello on September 1st. I visited on the weekly the Monterey park and Downey Ralph's. My review below PLEASE drive the extra mile and visit the Ralph's on Victory Blvd . Two visits I have made to that specific Ralph's in 2 months. 1st visit- didn't feel like a Ralph's , something about it I didn't like. The vibe was off. 2nd visit - I purchased shrimp bc I didn't want to drive all the way to victory since I had my 2 kids plus my 2 nephews and that same night when I was about to start dinner, BAM! The shrimp was so bad! It was rotten, spoiled. I took a close look at it and it had this white stuff. It wasn't even on sale. The night manager Max is the biggest p.o.s I've ever encountered at a grocery store in my life. My girlfriend and I were shopping just before closing and he took it upon himself to get on the intercom and start singing inappropriate songs about shoplifting and accusing my girlfriend and I every time we come in for shoplifting when in reality we're paying customers and just because we come in late and not many people in the store to hear and see his horrible behavior he thinks he can treat us however and get away with it .. he then went as far as taking our bikes which were parked in the store and did something with them to this day we still don't know what happened to them and now every time we go in he harasses and antagonizes me and just to keep the peace I keep quiet but I'm very close to taking this to corporate or filing a law suit for stolen property against ralphs market. I've yet to decide my plan on action, but on that note the store is always fully stocked and always has all of our favorite foods and other essentials, while also being very cleanly and organized. Also, the rest on the employees are great especially Gil the other manager. On numerous occasions I find him being our Savior whether it's helping us out with digital coupons because we forgot our phone or extending the sale because we were a couple minutes late. He is the epitime of what a neighborhood market needs! DON'T SHOP AT THE CANOGA PARK RALPHS on Sherman Way - Take your business elsewhere. The employees are combative and rude - no one cares to help, specially the two guy managers. No problem with $0.50 for cash withdrawal for the store at 20060 Ventura Blvd, Winnetca, CA in Taft Plaza. However, the receipt said I was charged the $0.50 and when they handed me my cash they gave me $39.50. Isn't that the weirdest?The Ralphs closest to my home doesn't take the $0.50 from the cash I request. When I add the numbers up the store took the $0.50 noted a $40.00 withdraw and then they only tendered $39.50, So I was charged twice. When I addressed the cashier and told them I took another $60 out at another Ralphs the same day and it didn't give me $59.50. She gave me the your crazy look and tried to tell me thats my bank charge. Really, thats the best bank charge I get for a withdrawal from Green Dot. i went to the manager already, then to the website to register complaint but having trouble with the Alt ID number so it would not submit it. So here I am. Imaging how many customers don't notice or even care of the extra charge. After searching online for pre-made holiday meals for my family's Christmas dinner, we settled on a prime rib dinner bundle and additional sides from Ralph's at 22333 Sherman Way, Canoga Park, CA 91303 that we ordered online for pick up date December 23, 2021. Pre-made dinner was our best option as my wife have just given birth to our second child and have been having some post-partum complications preventing her and I from cooking. When my parents came to the store for pick up, no one knew about our order. The deli even mentioned that they do not make pre-made meals. We had the email receipt as proof but no one was able to help. They told my mother to come back the next day to talk to the manager. We ended up calling the store and Chris, (the manager?), eventually got back to us. He stated that he found our order but that they do not fulfill that order at their Ralph's. He stated that they had called us twice a couple days ago; however, we do not have any missed calls from a local number nor do I have a message. He offered us an alternative of fresh prim rib but we declined as I am not able to cook from scratch due to my wife's condition. Considering the reputation of Ralph's, this mix up is very surprising. As many customers order online, do better so as to have your online ordering system match the offerings of your local chain. This experience has been very stressful for us. We have had to to scramble to get together some kind Christmas dinner. This experience has left a bad impression on me and I am considering taking my business elsewhere. read more

This is the closest Ralphs to my house, so I go here. This is despite the parking lot being a carnival of drug users and grifters. I know the manager can't do anything about this due to slotting and being part of Kroger but the displays are awful. It is very difficult to navigate the aisles because there are so many things on display. The variety of merchandise is not great, because it's a smaller store. I have to speed through produce so I'm not triggered by my idiot neighbors putting bananas in bags--and putting bags of bags into bags. Just a tip: maybe don't use 1,000 plastic bags in addition to your lack of reusable bags for your groceries? My reasoning for finally speaking out against this location is how awful the deli is. I get that the staff hate their lives. But the few times I've asked to have sliced cheese, I have gotten the worst treatment. Today I asked for cheese. The first person walked away. The second person asked me several questions and then said they can't offer that specific type (Gruyere, on the menu) for some reason that did not make sense to me. I would go to the nice Ralphs on Ventura, but since it's under construction and kind of a nightmare to get through Topanga, I'm forced to deal with the bad Ralphs and its nonsense. PS. Bring your own bags! Bring your own mesh bags for produce! Don't put bananas in plastic even if you are extremely horny for petroleum based products that are going to outlive you by 10,000 years. read more

First time here today around 2:30 pm. I came for some luvsum dog food and a few other items. First this is a very small store. They didn't have not one bag of my brand of dog food which is strange. Can't imagine they sold it all out. Went into the 15 items or less line, and some damn lady had about 30 items and held up the line of a bunch of us waiting. The cashier was the bagger and the cashier. She replied she can't police how many items someone has. The store looked pretty decent and clean. They have all the sales prices but not as much selection as the Encino location. Don't think I'd return to this location unless I was desperate. read more

Every time I come to this Ralph's it just gets more & more irritating & frustrating. I only come here if I need a few items when I'm picking up from their pharmacy. This store can't seem to keep a lot of their regular items stocked ever. My newest complaint is they rearranged things for like the 50th time & now in the last year & they have their carriages BLOCKING customers to be able to go through sections with their carts & taking up space badly. Whoever rearranged this store recently needs to be let go. I mean the chicken hot foods display use to be in the deli section where it belongs & it wasn't in customer's way. Now they have it right near their self check out lines & it's in the way taking up half the aisle. Any customer that stops there to look at the hot chicken is blocking other customers that can't get through with their carts. SO STUPID. Any manager with half a brain should SEE THAT & realize the hot chicken table display is in a super bad STUPID location now. JUST DUMB. SMH at all the REALLY DUMB things this store continues to do & DUMB CHANGES they make constantly at this store. HIRE employees that have a brain for crying out loud. Ergh! And obviously not ONE employee gives a crap or has the BRIANS or courage to tell the manager that the chicken display is in really DUMB bad spot for customers. Uncaring idiots work at this store. I hate going to this Ralphs, but it's on my way home from work. Every single time I walk into this store, I see at least three customers without masks. When I say something to the employees and the manager about these maskless customers, they look at me like I have three heads and say they can't enforce the mask. They don't say a word to the maskless customers, and they just continue on with their jobs, with no expression on their faces, moving at a slug's pace. I went to buy some carrots and when I picked up a bag by the time I got to the register I noticed it was brown and they didn't look right. I looked at the expiration date and they were old. And not like a week old but a YEAR old. I asked the cashier if I could swap them out. I went back to see if another bag was better and all 4 bags that were left were the same.... expired with brown carrots in them. I told the manager and he had the nerve to say they shouldn't be expired I think they just put the wrong date. When I told him to take a look at the actual carrots he still never acknowledged that they were selling year old food. He just told the guy to get rid of them and then treated me rude like I just messed up business I guess smh.
