Unique menu with a variety that makes you want to keep reading the next item offered...I had an egg, bacon, swiss sandwich that was perfectly made...My son had pancakes that were fluffy and also perfect... So went to this cafe this morning. They were not very busy but apparently only had 2 servers. We are promptly greeted and sat by an older woman. She set the menus down then went to wait on a group maybe 10-12 ppl. We sat there for a bit. The younger server walked by a few times looking but did not say a word. The older one was far too busy taking care of the group. Neither ever acknowledged my husband and I once we sat. Not a, I'll be right with you, anything. The older server took several pots of coffee to the group. Never were we offered any coffee. We got up and left. Maybe it's a good place to eat. Not sure. Never had a server. read more

What a delightful surprise. The food here was excellent and the service fantastic without being intrusive. So many choices, so little time. I had an omelette that was perfectly prepared: ham, provolone cheese (not available in most restaurants), mushrooms and spinach. It was cooked to perfection. You choose items from a vast selection of ingredients. You have the usual items but quite a few surprises like ricotta cheese. This definitely was decision time. You had a choice of toast, English muffin, or a biscuit and either grits or fresh fruit. The fresh fruit consisted of a pineapple wedge, slices of watermelon and cantaloupe, grapes and an eighth of an orange. It was fresh, very sweet, and was served refreshingly cold. My friend had a breakfast sandwich with a thick slice of ham, provolone cheese and scrambled eggs served on a large freshly baked croissant. It tasted heavenly. With so many wonderful breakfast items available, I definitely want to return here on my next visit to Naples. The food is delicious, the service excellent, the decor is comfortable and the prices are reasonable. A great restaurant well worth the visit. read more

I'm not sure we will be back. They stopped answering their phone and a recording refers you to their website. The website menu is not close to accurate. Half of the selections are no longer available. Why a restaurant has a limited menu at this point is puzzling. I chalk it up to just using the virus as an excuse for being lazy. The ingredients are readily available all over SW Florida and the restaurant has plenty of seating and staff. I love some of those dishes they used to offer, but there's no need for a 45 minute round trip and $35 dollar tab for bacon and eggs. Try answering your phone. read more

The Trail Cafe has become my favorite place for lunch. I go there about 2 to 3 times a week. Everyone greets me and knows my name and drink....that is pleasantly surprising and something that is just over the top...BUT IT GETS BETTER!!! I normally sit at the counter to have lunch, and talk to everyone, but I like to watch. It's outstanding to watch the wait staff pay VERY close attention to the details of the plates coming out from the kitchen....if something doesn't look right or if the order is slightly off on the customer special request, it's caught and fixed. Your team makes my lunch a complete joy, and something I look forward to each week. I don't mind the drive (about 15 minutes) to come to the Cafe. read more

The clever items on the menu as well as most of the homey decor have survived the departure of the first owners. The present management continues to please The Trail's breakfast & lunch regulars. This place was a pleasant surprise! The decor and atmosphere far exceeded my expectations. We had breakfast and it was one of the best breakfasts that I have had in awhile. We were very impressed that we were served real, hot maple syrup. The grits and the biscuit were the very best I have ever had in Naples. My husband ordered a sweet iced tea and he was brought a regular iced tea with a side of cold simple syrup, which he loved, because he could make his tea as sweet as he wanted. I'm going to give it two stars because the atmosphere in the dining room was nice...but the walk back tot he bathroom was kind of disgusting. It looks like the base boards are wet and moldy. The service was great but the food was very disappointing. The pancakes were thin and dense and kind of gross. The banana fosters french toast was basically plain french toast with cut up bananas. My husband even ask to see the menu again to reread the description. The description was a lot fancier then what was on his plate. We don't send food back or verbally complain...but you would have thought when my husband asked to look at the menu again, that would have clued the staff in that things were not as expected. =( read more

I've been to the Trail at least 25 times - my office is nearby and its convenient. My experience is somewhat limited to their salads, which are mediorce at best. The ingredients don't seem fresh, and the tomatoes are tasteless. On top of that, their prices are through the roof. Just compare what you get from EVOO or other restaurants for the money. And many of these restaurants are running 2 for 1 in the summer. Pat, the owner is very nice. But the other staff is spotty. I hear that they make a nice breakfast - hope so because lunch has been dismal. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times in the last few months while visiting family in Naples. The food is amazing! I loved their Banana's Foster's French Toast, My absolute favorite!! It is a really cute little place. The owner's are a married couple who are both very sweet and really want you to feel at home with their cooking. This little Cafe is definitely a great find! If your ever in the area this is a place that you have to check out! They have weekly soup specials during the week, the last one I tried was a Cream of Asparagus that was absolutely amazing! Stopped for breakfast this morning. Simple meal. Eggs over medium, Canadian bacon, hash browns and sourdough toast. Eggs were very small. Bacon was thick and tough. One piece of toast and hash browns were very good. Companion had poached eggs, fruit and wheat toast. One egg was cooked and one raw. Fruit was marginal. Eat here! Delicious food, friendly service, good community citizens! We have been dining at Trail Cafe for many years and I can't believe I've never reviewed it. Every time we've eaten there the food has been delicious. It's always fresh, the portions are good, and there is a good variety of choices. We were there again this week and noticed they are doing several good things to serve the community as well; the gift that keeps on giving. This last visit, I loved the chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries and my dad had the turkey and pear croissant. read more

In the summer (off season), this is a very good restaurant for breakfast. When season hits, stay away. It took 10 minutes before we were offered water or coffee, and another 45 minutes for our food to come out, without the side bacon that we ordered. By the time the server returned to check on us, we were already done eating. It took another 10 minutes after we were done to get the check, which still had the charge for the the side bacon that we told him he forgot. That took another 5 minutes to correct before I just walked up to the counter to pay. Multiple tables were complaining. They are way understaffed, particularly in the kitchen, as the server was having to heat stuff himself, and run credit cards. Maybe someone (or several people) called in sick today, but we had the same experience last season. The greeter needs to learn to help out in the restaurant, by filling water or delivering checks. We went here for lunch and found the food to be tasteless. We both ordered the Monte Cristo and thought we were two of the unluckiest people in the world.
