This was hands down the WORST experience my husband and I have ever had making any kind of purchase. We drove 2 hours to this dealership after finding this dealership online. Before arriving, we were explicitly told that appointments were required, that each appointment would take 30 minutes to over an hour, and that a team member would walk us through the process, show us the trailers we were interested in, and go over details and features. We were specifically told NOT to do a walk in, on our own and to schedule an appointment instead. We initially wanted to arrive at 11:30 AM, but based on the information provided by April, we waited and scheduled the next available appointment at 1:30 PM with Jeremy. When we arrived on time for our appointment, Jeremy immediately told us to go FOUR blocks away by ourselves to "look around," find VIN numbers, and pick what we liked. No assistance. No guidance. No explanation. This completely defeated the purpose of requiring an appointment and contradicted the entire pre-arrival information packet explaining how this experience was supposed to go. When we got to the lot, it was a disaster. There was no staff present, no labels, no signage, and no paperwork on the trailers. Nothing matched what was listed online. The QR codes that were supposed to help redirected to something completely unrelated. After driving hours and waiting for an appointment, we were left wandering around confused, frustrated, and angry, doing our own search with zero support. At that point, I was extremely upset. The wasted time, misinformation, and lack of basic professionalism were unacceptable. My husband reminded me that this was our only option that day since we urgently needed a trailer, and he hoped that at the very least the quality would be okay. When we returned to the front, I explained how lost and frustrated we were and told Jeremy which trailer we thought we wanted based on our solo search. Jeremy was ready to start the purchase process, but I insisted on seeing the exact trailer we would be buying. As I suspected, the trailer they brought out was NOT the one we had looked at. In fact, we never even saw that trailer on the lot during our own search. The entire experience was disorganized, careless, and honestly upsetting. My husband tried to stay optimistic, but I was beyond unhappy. If you do not care what you are buying and are okay being handed something random with little to no information, then this might be the place for you. Otherwise, avoid it. What makes this even more frustrating is that we were promised guidance and support before arriving. For a purchase over $4,000, the bare minimum would be providing basic information like the year, size, or features. None of that happened. At the end of the experience, we were given $50 off because a license plate holder was not installed and then latter comped/ added (thank you...) Jeremy did apologize to my husband once he understood how bad the experience was. The team did clean the trailer and help hook it up, but that is basic customer service and does not make up for how horrible the experience was overall. My husband now just hopes the trailer lasts and is made with good quality. I have my doubts. This place does not value your time, your money, or your experience. I would never come back and would never recommend this location to anyone unless you truly do not care what you are buying. Go the extra distance and find a local/ reputable dealership that actually cares. read more

I purchased a trailer April of last year, used it very lightly occasionally to transport equipment and mulch. Keep in mind no heavy loads even though it's designed for heavy loads for months after warranty expired. The welding completely fell off and was stranded. Had to tow my trailer I have team to quote for repair. They couldn't honor the warranty, but they said they would discount half of the labor and the parts. They slap me with the 4200 repair estimate, including the discounts. I got another estimate from a reputable trailer company in San Jose. FJM trailers who is charging me 2100. They told me the welding was poorly done hardly any welding at all when you're paying $16,000 for a piece of equipment you expect it to last I would stay away from them. Please see pictures. I'm not to put a bad review I just don't do business with someone who lets me down but this is a big investment when you are paying 16-25 k for a trailer it needs to last more than 1 year and a half before any repairs take care of your money. read more

I put in a deposit on their website for a trailer and they called me to make an appointment to pick it up. I asked for the offer of free delivery that they promote on their website, however they said they don't actually offer that even though it's clearly posted. So I took the earliest appointment they had available which was just over a week out. The rep, who I believe was in another state, said that normally the reservation would drop off after 7 days, but they would call the local office to hold the trailer for me until my reservation. When I showed up at my scheduled time to pick up the trailer, they informed me that they had sold my trailer to someone else. I asked them how that was possible since I had taken their earliest available appointment. The employee just shrugged and he told me that another similar trailer was available for 40% more. At the very least, they could have called or emailed me to not waste my time coming down for my scheduled appointment since my trailer was gone. Apparently TrailersPlus doesn't actually honor the free delivery they advertise on their website and even if you make an appointment with them, they won't actually keep your trailer for you to pick up if it goes past 7 days. The main impression dealing with their various employees is that there seems to be a culture of apathy and ineptitude towards others at TrailersPlus. Their processes are very flawed and there isn't much they care to do about it. read more

I was told if I wasn't ready to buy a trailer that day she could refer me to the web site. I explained I wanted to see the trailer in person and was told I needed appointment and it seemed like she could not figure it out, even though there was no one else at the yard. Nick and Jeremy were awesome to work with! I reserved a 7x14, but realized it's the same size as some apartments in SF or NY and had to pass. Jeremy found a similarly equipped trailer a size down and I ended up getting that one with all of the accessories they recommended. This is long overdue. This company sells JUNKKKKK. I cannot believe they are so useless as well. We bought TWO trailers here and both are complete crap. The two patriot trailers we bought are built horribly. I brought one in to explain the situation and they looked under the trailer and said ehhh this isn't covered under warranty. I persisted to tell them that it should be and they still said no. I continued to reach out to them and they brushed me off saying I shouldn't store LITERALLY REGULAR SIZED YARD MACHINES. not even commercial heavy duty machines. The trailer is made to literally haul just this. The flooring broke the same week we owned them. Now the entire trailer isn't situated on the base metal of the trailer. I don't even think this thing was built to haul egg cartons. WHACKKKK. There's so much more to add. It's not even that we used it poorly. Today I was shopping simply for a Coupler lock or wheel bracket that would secure my trailer while being parked. I called this location three times and finally was able to get them to pick up the phone. After asking if they had these locks in stock I could've swore I heard him say how can we not help you. It was explained to me that he would have my parts manager call me back when it's convenient for him and if the part was in stock he could make an appointment with me to come by and take a look. I understand these are very difficult times for all of us, but this is the worst case of precaution I have ever seen. We found Trailers Plus after U-haul let us down with our trailer reservation; we just decided to buy one. We did have to make an appointment and it was for a few days out due to covid, but that is just the challenge of these times. I was able to put $50 down online for the trailer I wanted, so at least I was not anxious about it being purchased prior to my appointment. The service was professional, honest, and thorough. We are very happy with the quality of our trailer, and since it was licensed by the dealer, were able to hit the road with it the next day after we purchased it. read more

Oh man. I should have read the other review here before visiting TrailersPlus. In my case, I looked a number of utility trailers they had on the lot and settled in on a 5x8 that was a little beat-up, but cheaper than a new and clean one they also had available. After having to leave and return buy my own tow-ball (odd, you think they would have those in stock) I was shocked to find the price had gone up significantly versus what was discussed. The rational for the extra charges was I was paying with credit card (uh, what?) and they wanted to charge fees to essentially fill out the DMV forms. Ultimately I had the same experience as the other reviewer. They tacked on a bunch of BS fees and didn't tell me about it until it was time to settle the bill. I walked away from the deal. In the end I purchased the exact same trailer from Lowe's for less than the original list price at TrailersPlus and with none of the credit card and paperwork fees saving hundreds of dollars. I called to make a last minute appointment over the holidays regarding an electrical issue. All the lights on my trailer worked except the running lights. I was thinking something was wrong with my trailers electrical and couldn't figure it out. They had Nick look at it who within 15 minutes pinpoint the the issue to a fuse inside my engine bay. A popular trailer dealer in San Jose flaked on me last minute, and I had 1 day to locate and purchase a trailer. Because they're in Gilroy, they have much more product on hand. I went to Trailers Plus after researching several trailer options for an enclosed trailer to haul a UTV. I was ultimately drawn in by a Trailers Plus craigslist add for the Patriot 8.5x16 which was the least expensive trailer I found. Nick is the salesman that met me at their storage yard and pointed out many of the features of the Patriot brand and offered sound advice about the rear entry height vs the UTV. Nick then walked me through the Interstate brand, and with out any sales pressure, pointed out the advantages and quality of that trailer. After measuring up the openings and comparing quality, I settled on the Interstate 8.5x16. Nick came through with a good deal and the shop person attached a couple of tie down rings in the floor. When I went to pick up the trailer the tie downs in the back were not far enough back so the shop guy moved them, fixed the floor and re-coated the underside of the trailer at the old spot with no hassle or questions asked. I visited Trailers Plus in Gilroy on a Saturday afternoon wanting to check out the budget version Patriot with the intention of using it to haul and store my motorcycles. A guy who works in the shop (Garrett?) took some time and showed me the Patriot, then one built for motorcycles with wheel chocks and soon I was checking out the car haulers and considering spending twice as much as what I had originally had in mind, he was very helpful and I soon realized I didn't want the budget trailer for my application. I took this information and spent about a week researching and comparing trailers from Wells Cargo, Haulmark and a couple other makes and then did a good amount of research on the Interstate models. I'll be renting my property and the cost of buying a Tuff Shed to lock up 5 motorcycles is expensive and one can't easily take it with you when you move; so I opted for an 8.5' x 20 Interstate Pro-Series. So far I'm impressed with the quality and the assistance from Nick during my purchase was a lot of fun. He's a cool guy who knows his stuff and doesn't try to oversell you on anything. I spend about $10k on this trailer and I'm pretty sure the equivalent sized Tuff Shed wouldn't be any cheaper, if it is I don't care because I can use this thing for a number of tasks and take it with me to my next place. One funny thing about internet reviews; is either someone is ga-ga over their purchase or they're totally pissed off; like the guy who calls this place a bait-and-switch operation. I have one question for this guy; did you expect there would be no sales tax? Really? Does it piss you off when you buy a 12 pack of beer and you have to pay sales tax and CRV? By the way, DMV fees were only $80 on my big ol' trailer! Nick is the big dude with a beard and he'll treat you well, he's got more patience than I'll ever have and I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a good trailer and a nice deal. If they allowed half stars you'd see 4.5, I dinged them a half star for not serving whisky while we waited for financing. ;-) read more

I purchased a 20 foot enclosed car hauler in October of 2013 , the transaction went off without a hitch (no pun intended) the first week of November 2014 I contacted the manager Nick and told him about a problem I was having with the loading ramp door, he pulled up my information from his computer and said that even though I was out of warranty on that item he would take care of it at no charge. I made an appointment and sure enough the loading ramp was replaced at no charge. i did not want to do biz with TP after reading reviews, but, they we're the only place locally that had the enclosed utility trailer I was looking for. I called and asked for the price, I went over and after 90 minutes towed my new trailer home, everything went great, price did not change,( there is a 3% fee for plastic which I was told about) I paid cash. The DMV fee was $80. for 5 years, just like a new car purchased from a dealer, TP handled this, all accessories were reasonably priced and available. I think the quality of the trailer if fair to good and priced accordingly. No problems, I think some people just like to bitch. My only real complaint it that it took 90 minutes to get out of there, oh well. I'd deal with them again. read more

These people advertise on Craiglist as the best price possible. Do not believe that. Their customer service stinks. They sold me a $1500 flatbed trailer that I needed to tow a new UTV. After getting the trailer home. I realized that there were no tie-down anchors at all. This is a basic necessity for towing vehicles. There wasn't even an option for this and the manager Randy said the company doesn't allow them to install anything like that. He told me to put the tie downs on the wire mesh on the trailer sides, a total joke. Do not use TrailersPlus they will nickel and dime you for everything, spare tires, tire brackets, even the wiring assembly. read more

Bought my 6 X 10 Van Trailer from TrailersPlus a few weeks ago. I first noticed TrailersPlus by googling and was comfortable with their website and even more so when I visited the Gilroy TrialersPlus site. Great location, and what an inventory they have. Since I needed some specialized space to transport personal belongings like my Piaggio MP3 500 and a Hebb 700 e-bike every square inch counted in all directions. Salesman Dave did a terrific job lining me up with the perfect trailer. Also the comfort of having good warranty and service available Nation wide made it a wise decision to deal with TrailersPlus. Ed was a great help. I called with several questions before making the drive to Gilroy (1.5 hrs) and he was very nice and went out and took a few physical measurements and did some other research and got right back to me with options. I wasn't sure which trailer I wanted and he was totally accommodating and patient, switching my deposit from one trailer to another one, and then when I ended up deciding to buy one with a ramp door which they had at the Lodi store (Gilroy didn't have the ramp door in stock), he even called ahead to Lodi to have them measure as well to make sure it would fit in my garage before driving out there (also 1.5 hrs from me). When I called to switch to the Lodi one, it was before hours so it was a corporate person I spoke with (she was very nice and professional as well). She relayed the message to Ed in Gilroy and he proactively reached out to me shortly after opening the same day and took care of all the arrangements immediately. I didn't even have to call him; novel! When I arrived in Lodi, Ed had provided them everything they needed to hold the trailer and get me on my way efficiently. I like when someone is that helpful whether they get the sale or not - just shows a combination of a person with class, working for an organization with class.
