This place is super cute right next to the train track with lots of freight trains rolling by. The food was amazing! I loved the pork Korean tacos. Sweet and spicy, but not too spicy, just right. Came here for the first time after hearing great things over the years. I love the decor. All the wood is awesome. They accommodated well for the 5 of us for the size of the place. We had a short wait to be seated but that was to be expected. Parking was good surprisingly with it being in a smaller space. The bar is aptly named for being next to a train crossing. I got the Elk burger with sweet potato fries and an oyster shooter. The elk was great, it was the first time I have had it though so I can't compare it to other places. I love their chipotle mayo sauce for dipping fries. Large food portions. The oyster shooter was pretty good as well. The cocktail sauce wasn't the best I have ever had but the oyster was perfect. As an fyi, there is a bakery on-site so all the breads are made fresh upstairs as is the breading for the seafood: if you get a side salad, do yourself a favor and eat the roll while it's still warm. We tried this restaurant for lunch and dinner. Lunch was a hit, dinner was a wreck. The highlights were great soup, sandwiches, and burgers. The wrecks were very poorly cooked fish, dry salmon and over battered, greasy cod. The French fries and sweet potato fries were good. One salad was delicious while the other had only the spine of the Romain lettuce with no leaves and hardly any dressing. Service was good and the atmosphere was awesome. Wow- great food in a cool bar/pub. Found on Yelp and our hotel guy recommended it so we gave it a try. Situated in the cute Main Street area of Burlington- the outside and inside has lots of charm and a cool vibe. Our food was fantastic- salmon salad and Reuben. We both ate all of our food down to the last bit. For my salad- I ordered the fresh greens cucumber and avocado salad with salmon and instead of honey mustard which comes with that - I subbed for their house vinaigrette and glad I did. Flying solo on a Thursday afternoon and stopped in for early dinner. Bellied up to the bar and my beer order was quickly taken and delivered. Place was about half full. 4 people at the bar that seats about 10. 6 of the 12 tables were occupied (2 of the tables would seat 10 people). After checking out the menu, my order was taken. Just getting a Train Wreck Burger with fries. My beer was also promptly refilled. My food order arrived super fast. Wow, the pile of fries was impressive. Had to eat about half of them before I could even get to my burger. The fries were fresh cut with Just a hint of the skins left on. Seasoned nicely, hot, and couldn't be better. Now I'm full of beer and fries, time to tackle the burger. I added bacon but skipped the cheese. The meat was cooked perfectly and the bun was fresh and soft. After eating half my meal I was full, but I'm not a quitter! Gobbled up the rest and made a to-go order to take to my under-the-weather spouse. I don't give out 5 star reviews lightly but I can't think of a way that my order could have been better. I mean it's just a burger but it was delicious! Great pub atmosphere in the main bar area and the waitress was polite. Love the overall vibe and decor and had high hopes after reading the reviews. It was pretty busy lunch crowd and we had to sit in the back room where it was very loud. Sound bounced all over and we could hardly talk. It took just shy of an hour to get our food. I had the cheese steak and was really disappointed. Hardly any cheese and the Siracha based sauce that they had on overpowered the other flavors and made it sopping wet. The meat was very fatty and parts unchewable. Also had the clam chowder that was ok but I'm not a fan of carrots in clam chowder. Original Review: I saw their Ahi Taco pictures online and immediately decided to drive down from Bellingham to give this place a try. Before heading out, I called to make sure they are open, and that they had these entree items available. The host who answered the phone assured me that there plenty left. Upon arriving, we saw that the place was jammed packed. We were put on a wait list and waited for about 10 minutes for a table. The host told us that we had to show him our IDs when a table became available, which I did have, but not my friend, M, since she did not drive. We were denied service. This incident left a bit of a sour taste for us since we spent the time to drive down and even called ahead. It would have been courteous to remind the customers that even table seating away from the bar requires an ID check, before they drive over, and definitely before taking the time to wait for a table. Since then, I have gotten condescending and harassing messages from the owner, Nick. The first one came in June 2020, and reads, "In times like this you have time to write a shitty review because your friend forgot there ID. Have a little respect for the business...". We eventually reached a mutual understanding and we left it at that. In August 2021, a year since I tried to go to this place, I received another message from the owner unprovoked. Did he forget that he addressed my review already a year ago or is it that he holds long grudges? In any case, it is in my opinion the owner is a bit psychotic. Everyone at my table was super satisfied with their food including the brisket sandwich, Reuben sandwich, ahi tacos, and burger. Stopped in for dinner around 5:25pm and got the last available spot. I got the elk burger with sweet potato fries with the wrecked wings. Mom got the derailed burger with sweet potato fries and dad got the smoked pork sandwich with regular fries. Everyone absolutely loved their sandwiches and I cannot stress that enough. These are large burgers and when you're biting into that meat, you're getting a mouthful of meat! It comes with a little cup of what I think is their red onion sauce. Anyways that sauce was delicious and I poured most of it into the middle of my burger which made it five times more messy but ten times more delicious. The wings were good, nothing that will blow you away, just good quality chicken covered in BBQ. The reason I have to dock a star was that after ordering, it took between 35 and 40 minutes for our food to arrive. After almost a half hour our waitress came by to let us know our food "was coming shortly." But when it finally did, my fries with slightly cooler than room temperature and every single one was soft. Turns out mom's sweet potato fries were the same way. Cold and soft. I asked dad how his were and they were hot and crispy and crunchy. I'm not sure what happened with our sides but it's unfortunate to serve such an incredible burger only to be paired with a cold set of fries that had zero crispness to them. Because of the high quality of their burgers though I would eat here again if I ever find myself in the area. You can't go wrong with their burgers but the sides were a hit or miss for us. read more

Elk burger was very dry and tasted like it was packed for awhile. house fries was actually good but I ended getting the bottom of the what was left from the fryer. It was just sOo disappointing. i did not even want to write a review because it was so shocking and such a departure from what we expected. So, we decided to give it another try. We called, and Askt about the kitchen, Like, "Do you have a new chef or something...?" And the girl said they have had many cooks in the kitchen since Covid, but she assured us we would love who's cooking that night! So, we gave it another try. And... BOOM! Right on the money!
