Absolutely the best street tacos that I've had in the Dallas area, possibly the best anywhere, actually. They were fresh and flavorful, yet not greasy or over seasoned. The flavors were simple, but complex when combined into one magical taco bite. - YUM! I really can't say enough about how delicious these tacos were. When I tell people about this place in person I literally have to refrain myself from grabbing them by their shoulders and giving them a good shake while shouting "You Must Go!" So, yah. Mmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! This place was very very good. I have been wanting to try this place for a while now, but with their hours, I haven't been able to try it, at least until today. This is a 5 star from me because it was an excellent establishment from beginning to end. First of all, the gentlemen working here were very attentive and very nice. They treated me and my family with the upmost respect. Second, the tacos were phenomenal! The guy that was helping us told me to try the fish tacos, and I am SO happy that he did! They were so good! I also had their steak tacos and the we're fantastic as well. This place was amazing and I highly recommend it!! Thank you guy's for a great experience!! read more

Loved this place!!!! I was look for some good traditional Mexican tacos and I found it! They even had fresh Jamaica Tea made. My favorite!!! One of my favorite things about a traditional Mexican taco place are the three sauces in those ketchup bottles on your table. The green and the hot red were SO good. I ordered the taco plate; it came with three tacos, rice and beans. I also ordered chips and queso. Everything was great!!! I was able to choose which meat I wanted for each of my tacos. I went with the pollo asado, carne asada and al pastor. I think the carne was my favorite. All had great flavor. If you're close by make this stop!!! These tacos are legit. I have had every meat they serve and they are all delicious, but my favorite is the barbacoa. My husband loves the carnitas and the chicharrones. They are just delicious flavor bombs. Everything is made fresh, the staff are always awesome, the place is clean. I have never ordered anything I didn't like. Don't pass this place up! read more

I went here on a whim while I was in the Garland area. I've been looking forward to trying their fish tacos and they did not disappoint! I got the fish taco plate, which comes in three. They were perfect: corn tortilla, crispy battered fish (and lots of it), cabbage, cream sauce, salsa.. Wow. This is easily one of the best fish tacos I've ever had, and I've had plenty of varieties coming from California where fish tacos are a big thing. In addition to fish tacos, this restaurant offers tacos of other varieties as well as other usual Mexican food staples. I would love to try those for another time. The staff here are excellent; they were friendly and helpful throughout the whole experience. From the greeting, to ordering, to checking up on me to see if all was good, and to the farewell, you can tell the staff here are genuine people and that's always nice to see in a local establishment. Overall, this was such a solid spot. I've been raving about the fish tacos to my husband and we plan to come here soon. I highly recommend this place; one of my favorites now since I moved to Texas. I admit, I was a little wary when my wife suggested this place, small spot in an industrial area doesn't scream "great" to me. Boy, was I wrong. Don't let the unassuming outside fool you, this place is LEGIT. Like, I couldn't shut up about it for a while after we left legit. The food to me skews a little more Mexican than Tex-Mex, FYI. The barbacoa street tacos were amazing, solid refried beans, and rice literally like my mom used to make. I tried some of my wife's steak quesadilla, and man, was it good, too! The place is also very nice and clean on the inside, like standalone restaurant quality. As much as anything else, the staff stood out. Very friendly and inviting, always a big plus. This place gets a solid 4 stars for the carnitas tacos and friendly service. I got three tacos--carnitas, al pastor and picadillo. I also got a coke bottle. I started with the al pastor. It didn't taste like much pineapple was put into it but still good. I like the al pastor at my other taco place better. It is also not grilled but stewed. Next came the carnita taco. When I took a bite it was apparently not carnita but chicharrones. I pointed it out and I he chef quickly made another. No big deal. Mistakes happen and both tacos start with "c". I'm glad I asked for carnitas because it is the best one I've had in a long time. It is roasted well, garlicky and full of flavor. Just what a carnita taco should be. It came with lots of filling. Last taco was picadillo. I had never had it in a taco before. I actually just made picadillo at home because it is my daughter's favorite dish. I also grew up with my mom's picadillo (though hers was traditional style with green olives and I have to anglicize mine). Needless to say, I am picky about my picadillo and didn't particularly care for this taco. It wasn't bad and I ate all of it. They provided three salsas and the chef explained all three. I tried all of it and my favorite was habanero. It was not super hot at first but the heat builds so by my last taco, Alicia Keys was singing in my head "Tnis Girl is on fi-yaa"... Indeed, the top of my head was steaming. At $1.99 a taco, it's a super deal. The hours are limited, so you can't really come here for drunk food. I barely caught their open hours driving back from east TX. The location is easy to get to from 635. Although a bit sketchy on the outside, the inside is clean with white table cloths. Will definitely come back to try some of their other things like their guacamole. read more

My husband and I were on a hunt for a nice lunch spot and decided to come here because of the reviews. When we walked in the sitting area was filled and quiet (you know what they say about not being able to chat when the food is good). The menu wasn't complicated yet we still were unsure of what to eat. The owner clad in a chefs coat and very welcoming demeanor greeted us. We told him it was our first time and he recommended the taco trio. It is AMAZING! We dined in (on the patio) and Our food was brought to us by the owner and he recommended the habanero salsa OMG! This is the best kept secret in town. Best taco's, quesadilla, and taco salad I've had. Don't forget the chips and queso. Also, try the sauces! Small restaurant that gets busier every day. Go early, but don't be in a rush. Each item is freshly made with TLC. It's worth the wait! read more

Good street tacos. Meat is well seasoned. I doubt they serve refried beans as soupy as they were today. They were tasty but way too runny. They seem to be well liked as there was a steady stream of customers. On a cooler day, I would like to sit outside. I think street taco lovers would be very happy eating at Tranky Tacos. read more

Was in the area for a completely different reason and saw this place recommended nearby. Stopped in and got a taco plate and a couple gorditas. Everything was great. The al Pastor is some of the best I've ever had!! Carnitas were very tasty as well. Didn't get beans on the plate, just got extra rice, and it was good... nothing mind-blowing but good. Again, I don't live anywhere close, but I would consider driving back down for the al Pastor alone! Very tasty read more

The food is simply amazing! We love our street tacos! Let me tell you, we have not had street tacos this good anywhere in the states in a VERY LONG TIME!!!! The family that owns and operates the business brings their heritage recipes in to delight your palete! The barbacoa is out of this world! The sauces are all fresh and homemade, and we tried them all and they sell them too! We are going back for more and to try other items on themenu. So far we have had the beef fajita, barbacoa, chicken, and al pastor street tacos, with my husband opting for the plate that includes rice and beans. You would not expect anything like this in this area of town. Clean, modern and most importantly, great food. I read the reviews with some skepticism having been a bit familiar with the area. Shock #1, interior of the place is kind of Shake Shack'ish. Clean and contemporary. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. They have several sauces that range from mild to snot and tears hot. I just tried the hottest examples and can give Dos thumbs up. The tacos were exceptional. Honestly, everything a great taco place should be. read more

Worth the wait! I got there well after lunchtime and there was still a wait, and now I see why. Everything is made fresh, right when you order it. BEST TACOS I HAVE HAD SINCE I MOVED TO TEXAS!!! I moved from San Diego, CA where we are known for our amazing taco shops. I have tried several different Taqueria's since moving here and wasn't impressed. I finally came to yelp to see where else I can try and I'm glad I found this place. I ordered three fish tacos (which I barely finished two), the fish tacos were very savory and filling that the fish was coming out of the tacos. No complaints here at all. I can't wait to go back to try more tacos! I only gave it a 4 star rating because I wish they stayed open later read more

These tacos were so so good! And filling! I could only eat two and had to take the rest. The beans are great, with bacon and everything and real authentic rice! The people next to me were eating a giant hamburger and it looked so good! I have to get it next time. The place was nice, clean and everyone there was polite and told me about the hot sauce. I'm damn impressed with the food here. Ive had the pleasure of eating here a few times. The tacos are gourmet for sure. House made taco sauces are legit, and they are kept on ice at the counter. You wont regret stopping by here, as they have some of the best tacos available in dfw. Lunch gets kinda busy here, i suggest getting here early. read more

My family drove 30 minutes to give this place a try due to the 5 star reviews. I completely agree and couldn't rave about this place more....the food was fantastic and full of flavor, the staff (Daisy and Reis) were so incredibly friendly and helpful. You don't always find such outstanding customer service, but here you will. The place was tidy and overall just a great little spot. Saw this on Yelp as I was in the neighborhood. Drove up and all I could see was a line outside the door which was a good sign. Get inside and their menu is simple yet delicious. Got the taco platter with brisket, steak, chicharron. When ordering the gentleman behind the counter advised me off how they prepare their chicharron is different then other spots. They marinate their chicharron in chilli Verde sauce and cook it. Giving a soft texture. I was surprised how good it was. Can definitely see why so many reviews are great. read more

They were very good with the red sauce and Spanish rice. The beef had a very good seasoning and the chicken had a taste like it had been marinated for a few hours. I had the beef fajitas. The beef was tender, succulent and seasoned well. The only thing that I didn't like was that the fajitas had a sweet taste to it. I believe the sweet taste was from sweet bell peppers or sweet onions, nevertheless, it was too sweet for my taste buds. We enjoyed ourselves, enjoyed the margaritas and the starters, but next time, I'll try some shrimp nachos. I give Ernesto's Mexican Restaurant three out of five drinks. Cheers!

My husband and I love trompo tacos, tacos, Mexican food in general but every Mexican restaurant that we've tried near our home has been just okay or not good. For dinner we decided to dash our food since we had a long day and everything was still super fresh, hot, and delicious. Perks? It's very close to our home! We're very picky about cleanliness in the flavor and when we say cleanliness we mean the ingredients they use and how fresh everything was when you open your meal and that first bite. The first bite was the trompo taco fully dressed with extra green sauce....soooo good and it hit all of the marks. We highly recommend and we're definitely ordering here again!
