I was a patient of Cheryl's in November. I had six appointments, received 5 home exercises on the first visit. The first time I had a good feeling about her because she spent one on one time with me. The following 5 times were completely different-one time there were 4 patients and 1 therapist. The last straw broke on 11/30 when the gym was so cold, we needed jackets, space heaters and a blanket because it was freezing. Shockingly, I was told by the woman assigned to me that she mostly works in the back office. She is not a certified therapist or an aid. The physical therapists here are extremely experienced and committed. My daughter was able to use the pool for her ankle when she was unable to bear weight and has seen a lot of improvement. Cheryl and the staff at Transitions Therapies West Aquatic and Physical Therapy are THE BEST! I was diagnosed with a slipped disc in my neck, and in severe pain. My neurologist felt I was candidate for surgery, but also offered that I had one other option: go to the best physical therapist he knew of in the area -- Transitions Therapies. I started with Cheryl the next day. Now over a year later, I have not had a recurrence, did not have surgery, and have no limitations from the original injury. I was referred to Transitions Therapies through my GP to look at my hurting knee. Cheryl completely misdiagnosed my condition and was certain that my knee cap was dislocated /out of place and recommended several session of physical therapy (knowing that i have a good insurance plan) after 12 or so sessions my knee got worse every day, unable to walk for more than 5 minutes. although i followed her recommendation to buy new shoes after she told me that my feet are flat) I paid $150 for the new shoes which she insisted that I buy. The new shoes made my knee hurt even more and put pressure on my other leg/knee and back. During my 12th session I realised that the therapist has no idea about my condition and she did not even know which knee needed therapy as she started the exercice randomly. At that point I decided to stop going there and go back to my GP and asked him to recommend a knee specialist. Looking at the xray the specialist said that my knee is perfectly centred and to immediately stop the physical therapy because it was doing more harm than good not only to my knee but my general health and well being. By the way during the 12 sessions Ms Cheryl always assigned me to her assistants who have no clue and do not even read the reports. I could not believe my eyes when the physical therapist was giving me instructions related to my left know the good know as she had no idea which knee was the sick one. I do not recommend Transitions Therapies West to anyone, they almost ruined my health and my life. By the way my feet are far from flat, she just made me waste $150. read more

After my broken clavicle surgery I found Physical Therapist to be abundant with a two page list from my orthopedic. That doesn't mean everyone is equal! The first was your standard PT mill, bring 'em in, work 'em out, send 'em home. A bit too pandering to the patient and not 'mean' enough to matter. They know the insurance limit and thus the milking began. The 2nd was good, but a bit esoteric...and expensive. Out of plan, cash discount but still more than 4 times $$ than a PT in plan. Then I was recommended to Cheryl. What a godsend. She immediately saw through the pandering and put me to 'work'. Good work, you need it, I needed it and you WILL like it. Because it gets results. She is as tough as you want her to be. I said one day 'if you can do 10, I'll double what you do'. So she did the exercise and a hard one at that, even for a healthy soul. So I met my challenge. I didn't use their pool but it was available if necessary. The office and therapy room are smaller than others but very efficient. You never feel left out. If you need one-on-one she is there for you. I'm still doing 'homework' as it seems to never end, but was discharged in 3 months - which to me is speedy work. Thank you Cheryl and team for putting me back on the bicycle sooner than expected! read more
