Giving this place 5 stars for 2 reasons: 1. The Staff is AWESOME. Daphne (or Daphnie?) was our host/guide/everything else. She gave us a great intro, walked us through the rules, then helped us out with hints throughout the process! She was super thorough before, during and after our escape. She even gave us fun facts after the escape! 2. The room(s) are really well thought out. It's definitely the type of room where you have to split up to get it done in time. I can't imagine doing it with just 2 people! We did have one glitch (tech mishap) when we started the room, but they fixed it super quick. Overall I really liked this experience. Me and my kids LOVED this escape room!!!! It was hard lol. But we got some helpful hints that made it easier. It is such an exciting feeling to solve a puzzle and move on to the next step. We did Grandmas birthday. I had a 12 and 8 year old with me. They were mildly freaked out by the flickering lights and voices on the radio but soon got into the fun of the solve and didn't care lol. First off shoutout to Kaya our game master for the night! Super sweet and informative. "Grandma" never gave us unwanted hints (we're competitive and haaaate when that happens in rooms lol) This was mine and my husband's 32nd escape room (3rd over all from this company- we've done a couple at their Upland location), the production of the room was great. Loved the plot twist although it was kind of not such a surprise if you're paying attention! Lol If you finish with enough time there are bonus puzzles to complete. I'd say this room is fairly on the easy side, husband and I completed with just under 10 mins or so spare. read more

To be honest this one star is for the customer service of this location. I take full responsibility that I messed up on the booking time. I booked a 930pm instead of 11pm. Again, this is my fault. The one star is for the customer service when I show up at 11 and they have 2 other rooms that they can have us do at 11:45 pm but they wanted a $65 reschedule fee which is nowhere to be found in their website at all. The two other rooms were not booked and most likely won't be booked as we left around 11:20pm after trying to ask them why we just can't do those. Again it is entirely my fault that I booked the wrong time not but to be honest, I prepaid and would have loved to do any of the rooms. They could have done this for us to show in good faith and we would have encouraged so many more people to come here but after this, no thanks. There is no rescheduling fee of $65 that I could find on their website but that is what they were asking for. Even if we were going to take an empty slot at the very end of the day. Please don't make the same mistake I did and make sure you look at your time since they will not accommodate you at all. Again, this was very dumb on my part for not carefully looking at the time but they need to work on their customer service skills or clearly state their rescheduling policies on their website. read more

Let me start off by saying best experience I've had in an escape room! Everything is so well thought out and you are really immersed in the experience. From the beginning you feel the theme of the room with the videos playing and how the game master fully embraced the characterization. Olivia definitely made it more fun. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family and will go back! Our group was able to escape our room in 40 minutes & still had the opportunity to solve 3 bonus puzzles! I love the fact that if you finish a room in under the 60 minutes, you keep solving puzzles until your hour is up. "Pandora's Box" was challenging, but it was so fun. Did the Grandma's Surprise over the weekend and the room was surprisingly good! The set design and plot for this room was really on point and made for an awesome experience. I've done other Trapped rooms before where the tech was kinda finicky and didn't properly work, and we were warned of that before doing this room but we didn't experience any of that at all! The room was a bit on the easy side so this would be a good room for bringing along escape room newbies or children. The plot twist in the room was also really cool. I appreciate Trapped's devotion to adding plot elements to their rooms which many other companies forgo doing. We heard some yelling from the other X-13 room so I get that the feeling that's the more difficult room. We can definitely tell that the GM's were rushing between groups and they were overbooked for the weekend, however the GM we had was awesome and a really chill dude. Would recommend Trapped and the Grandma's Surprise room for those in town. read more

Fantastic escape room experience! They went all out with the props, special effects, and all the little details. We were a small group but had an absolute blast thanks to all the effort put in by the staff to make sure we got a full orientation and understood the rules of the game. They went above and beyond by actively monitoring our activity in the room and being proactive in providing the right amount of tips/clues along the way. It's obvious that the creators thought out everything in the room and were meticulous in weaving together an interactive experience. We will definitely be back for round 2! read more

My Bf and I did the last room we haven't done at the San dimas location. Grandmas surprise was really QUITE A SURPRISE! I didn't expect the theme of it based on the video they show you beforehand lol. The room was really cool, the way it was done and flowed was really cool too. The employees here are truly the best! Our puzzle master was Jack and I have to say WOW! He made it so memorable and fun and his voices were SPOT ON! I really wished they had more rooms cuz we truly do enjoy this location so much. One of my friends had the pleasure of winning free tickets to this location (we've their other locations and done the majority of their rooms) so we booked "Grandma's Surprise" because it was one of the few we hadn't done yet. First off, I'd like to say that the amazing staff member that helped us (he knows who we're talking about, especially since we tied him up in the lobby as we talked about other escape rooms we'd done by Trapped! and terrible ones we've done by competitors (I'm sure we made his day). This guy made this experience amazing. He did such a great job of welcoming us, and took "customer service" to the highest level! He was so patient as we joked at each other in the otherwise empty lobby, then managed to get us in the room earlier than expected. Because of this, we had time afterwards to take advantage of a second room (Operation: X-13) that we hadn't done yet either. Grandma's Surprise was probably one of my favorite rooms they've done, as I think that it showcases their imagination, with fun twists, and little 'extras' that truly challenge groups that would otherwise get out too quickly. The set is great, and we could tell that they spent a lot of time on the tiny details. This room is funny, fun, challenging, and overall entertaining (kudos, once again, to our new favorite staff member, who tolerated our friend Greg, who in turn challenged this guy's resolve when it came to laughing at truly goofy 'curveballs'!). Operation: X-13 was not my favorite, but still a good experience! A particular puzzle gave us trouble, and the staff member admitted that the task should be given to one with the best computer skills-- but my question is what if the person came from the stone age, or the dark shadow of a rock, and didn't know computers at all? Also, at one point, I was told repeatedly to get down and hide, which I couldn't because I've got a knee injury that keeps me from doing so. Once my whole party got down and I was told several more times to get down, it was slightly frustrating being yelled at given the fact it was something I couldn't do... Otherwise, great experience! We look forward to any new rooms!! read more

Customer service was great. Cleanliness is great. Immersive/Room decor was great. Puzzles? Meh. We did two rooms, Grandma's surprise and Pandora's Box. Grandmas surprise, was surely a surprise, good fun room. Good for families and young ones. We had high hopes for Pandora's Box because we heard good reviews. We were very disappointed in this game. We felt like the puzzles were more of a guessing game, not much of mind game. Didn't feel like there was a certain way to solve puzzles, just waste time till you the right answer. The fact that there are no refunds I understand, but to reschedule they want to charge an additional $65 on top of the amount of money I had already spent to book an appointment. Now that is ridiculous! I had an emergency so I couldn't attend my booking appointment. So this is why I give them one star. Update: Hello Owner, You claim the reschedule fee is "offered as a convenience" so that "They (as in myself) don't lose out on the money that was already paid". That does not make sense to me. Why would I want to pay an additional $65 on top of the $165 I already spent? Like I said in my review, if you did not read properly, I understand about the no refunds, but as a person you should understand that life happens and an emergency took place on my way to your location hence the short notice. I will take this as a loss, but I will not be returning to your business and will be informing future customers with this review. If you do not want a bad review, do better to accommodate guests who've already paid. Have a nice day. We've done all the rooms at this location (and the upland location) and would highly recommend them to anyone. Taylor led two of our rooms at this location and she was wonderful. The first room we did here was Grandma's surprise. The room is really cute with a cool twist that I wasn't expecting. I really enjoyed this room aesthetically and puzzle wise. I like that there's bonus puzzles if you have time. This is probably my second favorite room to date out of all the escape rooms I've done. The second room we did here was Pandora's Box. The room was designed well and was pretty cool. The puzzles in the beginning were really awesome. There is one puzzle in the room that I got stuck on and unfortunately it's not something that the guide can really help you on - aka a hint won't help you solve it. I probably could've done it with a piece of paper, but the way my brain works I didn't have the brainpower to do it in my mind lol. Talking to others apparently a good amount of people get stuck on this puzzle, and others just randomly get to the correct solution. However I still really enjoyed the room. The last room we did here was X-13. We didn't have a great experience with this room - but I think it was more due to walkie talkie issues and the people we brought with us than to do with the room itself. Having never experienced an escape room before, I wasn't sure what to expect and I admit that I was a little nervous going into it. My nerves subsided as soon as I walked in and was greeted by friendly staff, a game of Connect 4, and a game of Jenga! My husband and I played Jenga while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive and, once they did, we were promptly checked-in and guided inside. I won't give away anything about the room (we selected Operation: X-13) other than to say that it was great! Sadly, my group and I were not able to complete it and escape safely...major bummer...and, while this was a bit of a downer, we still had a great time. The puzzles are not impossible to solve but they definitely do take some real thinking. Hints are available upon request but I think our pride got the best of us and we didn't ask for a hint earlier on, which would have helped us save a lot of time on the front end and left more time for us to be able to complete the more difficult puzzles toward the end. Oh well, lesson learned for next time! The room was very well thought out and kept us on our toes. Something I really enjoyed is that the staff gets into character at a certain point - this was very unexpected! Also, there are lockers available for cell phones (not allowed inside the room) and small purses. Overall, we had a great time and will do it again soon! read more

My husband and I tried Grandma's Surprise (alone) with gamemaster Alex and we came second away from solving the room. We would definitely try it again but we would bring our 8 year old son who has been interested in trying an escape room with us. Tonight we survived Operation X-13 with another couple who have never done an escape room before. My friend was excited but her husband was hesitant and questioning how fun and interesting an escape room could be. Needless to say, he loved it at the end and definitely wants to try more escape rooms. Game master Joshel spotted us on this on and was fabulous as well as Alex was on the first one. We found this one to be a bit easier than Grandma's surprise as some clues were given at the beginning and pretty easy to follow. I feel like we needed more clues with Grandma's Surprise as maybe they weren't as obvious. We also had enough time for 2 bonus puzzles. That was exciting since we had never been able to get to these before. This was our 4th escape room. We definitely want to go back and try Pandora's box next. I was given a recommendation for this agency from another escape room business owner. I decided to book the event for my friend's birthday. We were a group of 7 women. The booking was easy and fully accessible online The check-in process was fairly easy. We signed the releases and went through a video orientation. We were briefed on our objective. The young man who checked us was kind and thorough. The rooms itself were well thought out. Our group did feel like the puzzles were difficult to understand due to the excessive wordiness. This made our comprehension difficult. Also our ability to access hints was good. However our one concern was that we couldn't hear the directive well at times. The walkie talkies didn't function well. This process also ate up a lot of time because we needed hints repeated. Other escape rooms use monitors to convey hints versus this style. We did not escape in time even with additional support and time. It was still very enjoyable and we had a great time. We participated in X-13. It is document heavy so if that's your thing, go for it. There are no live actors. Or scare tactics. Lockers and restrooms are available. Parking is ample. Locale is hidden a bit but the signage is great! Grandma's Surprise- This was the hidden gem that was my favorite room at any Trapped Location. It was whimsical and light-hearted yet immersive and highly-technical. Puzzles were superb, story was cohesive, and the surprises was an incredible surprise! Pandora's Box- Really immersive room that maximized a small space in an inventive ways. The technical elements in this room were surprising and added a multi-dimensional experience. Although I felt as though many of the puzzles were trial and error tasks, the immersive elements of this room made up for it. We came to do X-13 after completing every room at the Upland location. This location was awesome! The room was a prequel to Upland's Sector 13 and it tied the story line in very well. The puzzles in the room were just challenging enough for us to get stuck on them but not too stuck to where it's not fun. Probably one of the best rooms in regards to how involved the game master is... (you'll see). This location has another room under construction. I can't wait to come back a do it! Trapped! Is one of the best escape room companies out there. I've completed many of their rooms including Operation X13, One Eyed Jack, and Lair of the Puzzlemaster. Their track record of challenging puzzles and polished set design is impressive. This time around, we completed Pandora's Box -- their newest venture. DIFFICULTY: 2/5 We completed this room with 2 enthusiasts in about 35 mins and then the 2-3 extra bonus puzzles in about 45 mins. This room is different from the other rooms we have in the past in that the GM is an active participant in the room -- as both an actor to bring you into the room and then also as a voice providing the storyline to guide you through the room. We thought the GM was giving us "hints" but the verbiage was simply part of the game/script. Technically, we were given some nudges but no hints were asked for in this game. PRODUCTION: 4/5 Their use of sound/light and other elements were done extremely well. I don't want to give away the other elements yet but you'll see!! I felt like I was on a Disneyland ride. I've never seen these elements before in other rooms -- so bravo to Trapped! Also the use of the spotlight to drive the progression of the story was fun. PUZZLES: 4/5 Novelty and creativity of puzzles has always been their strong point. This was certainly true here. My only gripe is that I wish there were more to do. But, I can also see how there would be enough puzzles to do if we didn't get as lucky as we did. Bonus puzzles are a great way to make both enthusiasts and new comers happy. Add more! There is also minimal searching here which I enjoyed; this means there is maximum focus on solving puzzles. GAMEMASTER: 10/5 Winnie was amazing! She was energetic, fun, and very accommodating! Did the "Grandma's Room" escape room with a group of 5. Sebastian was our game master! Trapped always has great theming and fun rooms. This was probably one of my favorite storylines I've done. The room is large and had a lot to do. Puzzles were difficult but not impossible. There was actually a good amount of puzzles - including two extra puzzles - that kept everyone busy. Even though this was a family friendly concept, there were definitely some creepy factors in it haha. I will say it ended a little abruptly because we had escaped before solving the other two puzzles, though we were initially warned of that. The hints we had and our game master were just a touch underwhelming and not as engaging as I'm used to. But it didn't take away from the experience. Overall, a good experience.
