I've done many escape rooms and I feel as if each company has their own unique qualities to their games. My friends and I played menagerie which didn't exactly meet our standards. Overall the set was cool and unique but the puzzles seemed basic and I feel like the room featured many unnecessary puzzles (referring to the back room). We escaped but the game didn't seem very fulfilling. Not to mention that the staff was rude and I feel like they didn't play into the theme of the room and kind of haphazardly handed us our case files and moved on. Let me start off by saying we've done all 3 rooms in Vegas and the owner Richard told us we had to check out the ones in Upland so we were really excited to check out DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE. We booked our room for 8:00PM and got there about 7:45PM. We got to the door and the door was locked. We tried knocking at the door but no answer. At this point we noticed the lights were off and we began to question if we were at the right location. We then tried calling, but no answer. Confused, we called the other location. We told the man who answered what was going on and he was confused as well. He told us he'd figure out what happened and give us a call back. We waited about 4 to 5 minutes and he called us back letting us know someone is on the way and deeply apologized for this happening. A few minutes went by and we see a car pull up and a guy go upstairs and open the door. We then follow after and as we enter, the employee gives us a sincere apology, in which we accepted. We then did the room, which was AMAZING!!! And he apologizes to us again for the mistake and even offers us a free room for next time. We were so taken back from the kindness and the amount of customer service Trapped offers. We are all human and we all make mistakes so we were completely understanding of the mistake that occurred, but we greatly appreciate the service he provided for us. I really hope he doesn't get too much heat for what happened because he seems like an awesome employee that made a minor mistake. Thank you again Trapped!!! read more

Sector 13 is one of there many rooms. Their rooms were booked pretty solid, so you can't just book their rooms on the whim. We booked this one in the morning, and their "Grandma's Surprise" room at their San Dimas location. Sector 13, is a good experience for 4-5 players. The story line, is the usual. Someone's poison, and now you need to break into a lab and find the cure. The room does require quite a lot of reading though. So be prepare for that and no skipping on the reading. The decor was pretty good, but the space isn't large. With more people doing the room, you'll have to be more careful about not getting into each other's way. we can't wait to try out their other rooms, especially the "Down The Rabbit Hole" room. we heard that one is one of the best. read more

We have done a handful of escape rooms in the past and have come to love the experience. It's a fun and challenging activity to do with family and friends. However, in order to have that experience you need to have a good room and a good game master. This was by far the worst escape room we have been to. Almost every puzzle malfunctioned, there were multiple times where rooms or puzzles were left unlocked when they shouldn't have been, and it seemed as though the game master didn't understand the room or how the puzzles were supposed to work. The price you pay is for the quality of the room and the team members who help run it. This unfortunately was not worth the price and we likely will not be returning. read more

Rabbit Hole escape room: Worst experience ever! My gf and I have done about 10+ escape rooms, but this was definitely the worst one we have ever tried. I recommend the San Dimas and Vegas Trapped Escape rooms. $85 literarily down the "rabbit hole." The room was dark and we had a hard time seeing around the room. After 30+ minutes in the room we were offered a flash light. We were never told that we had that option.... The host tells us at the end that a lot of people have trouble seeing in this room...well...obviously there is a problem with the lighting...right? Also, had a hard time hearing the "rabbit" voice that was trying to guide us with hints. Very unfair. Again, worst experience ever.... read more

Great experience for our first escape room. Matt was our game master and really got into the roll as well as helped us out when he felt we were falling behind on a certain task. The puzzles were challenging but not impossible, simple logic throughout all the rooms just depends on your group size and how well you work together and with separate tasks. Such a great experience!! Our district management organized this amazing team-building experience. Our 10-person team proved how to work together and solve the puzzles. You definitely need to watch for every detail and listen carefully! The more you work in pairs rather than groups, the better! The staff is very friendly and explain everything from the beginning and answer your questions at the end. There are lockers to hold cellphones and keys. I love this place! I was looking for an activity for a student retreat and escape rooms are what the kids want to do! I talked with Roland and he was amazing in setting up something for my large group. We split the group into two rooms that ran at the same time. My group was in the Lair of the Puzzlemaster, so I will go more in depth about that -- for myself and 8 very intelligent college students, this room was just tough enough and had a lot of twists and turns that kept us all occupied and going the entire time. We had a TON of fun, and it was so worth it to me to see the looks on their faces when they figured things out. This room is CHALLENGING, but so wet decorated and set up. There is so much thought that goes into these rooms, it is incredible! The other team played Sector 13. They also really enjoyed it and found it challenging! I haven't been in that room, so I can't say much but they said the décor and the puzzles were really fun. Thanks again to Roland and the entire team here for making my retreat really memorable. My friends and I had an absolutely exhilarating experience here! We've all done escape rooms and consider ourselves as pretty decent at succeeding at them. We wanted to find something challenging, so we booked the "Sector 13" escape room for 4 people. While a couple of us had come here before, I came here for the first time and am now happy to say that this was the best escape room I've done so far. The room's theme was thrilling, and the puzzles were difficult enough to make us fully alert and high on adrenaline but not impossible to solve within a reasonable amount of time. Additionally, the steps/riddles/puzzles to unlocking things were very diversified. It was one of the most interactive escape rooms all of us have successfully completed so far. Apart from the escape room experience itself, I would also like to commend the staff working there. They were extremely friendly and approachable people who took the time to explain the plot of the escape room and delineate the different sources of inspiration that led to the structure and details of the room. I highly, highly recommend coming to this place for escape rooms. It's located on the second floor of a building in a business plaza, so it might be easy to miss. 5 out of 5 stars You look at what trapped has been able to do with what is seemingly a normal office building and their ability to transform it into a true escape room enthusiasts paradise. Their usage of both traditional locks and keys and a bit of technology sprinkled into their rooms truly makes this a great room to enjoy. Both of Sector 13 and puzzle masters lair offer their own spin off of varying difficulty but are still doable with just the minimum two people. Puzzle masters lair is a little more on the difficult side just because of the amount of puzzles within the room but offers such good game play with how the story takes hold as you progress. With the Sector 13 maze you feel the sense of urgency to find the cure and escape the lab before time runs out. Sector 13 offers so incredibly innovating puzzles that you may not have seen in the past that could hinder your progress if you don't listen carefully. All in all trapped passes the test and gets a 5 star rating especially considering the space that they have to work with! read more

Sooooo much fun!! I was literally tempted to book another one that same day because I wanted to do more! It was so much fun and the challenges were great and definitely challenging. I was definitely afraid that my smarty pants of a boyfriend was going to knock it all out in 15 minutes, but it was until about 45-min that we had to ask for a hint. As a self-proclaimed Escape Room expert, this was hands down the best I have ever been to. My boyfriend and I have essentially run out of Escape Rooms to do in the Orange County/Inland Empire Area (aside from just a couple) and it was our first time at Trapped! Diego was an excellent host: friendly, clear in expectations and available with any questions we had. Without revealing too many details, the puzzles and technology behind the clues surpassed all others we've participated in. There was a clear flow to the room, but still a high level of difficulty. It seemed like with each unfolding of a task I was saying, "Wow, cool!" Because everything really was SO neat. Another feature that we didn't know until we arrived, was that the minute you purchase your tickets, the room is yours--regardless the number of participants you have. I think this is a great point of difference because we've been added to groups that--in loose terms--did not enhance our experience. (i.e. an 11 year old's birthday party.) We haven't stopped talking about how impressed we were with the room since we got out, and we literally tried to see if there was another available tonight. Fun times with friends. This was my third escape room games with my friends. The office /room location is in the back building second level. Parking in the back is a lot closer. Restroom is located around the building and you'll need a key (get from the host) go before you start your escape game. We booked the PuzzleMaster room for 7 people. Without giving away the game, I think props and games were nicely done. Some games were a little hard and we had to ask for hints (we were given walkie talkie upon entering the room). But our sleuth abilities helped us escaped with 41 seconds to spare. I would recommend trying this game out, go with friends and family. Hopefully everyone have their special abilities in problem and riddle solving! It is, after all, a PuzzleMaster's lair. read more

We had a little problem in our room where one of the puzzles was already completed but that didn't hinder us at all from having a good time. Our host was amazing I think his name was mike? Or mark? So much fun!! Clever, well-designed and keeps you guessing. This is not my first escape room, but it's the best I've done so far.

Trapped escape is a great stop on any ones escape room journey. I came up from San Diego and did all 3 rooms Sector 13- lightly creepy, dark, science themed Rabbit Hole- fantasy, whimsical, a lot of associative puzzles. Puzzlemaster- intense, involved a lot of gathering information in a true non linear format. Suspenseful. All rooms are worth doing if you have the funds but I would recommend Rabbit Hole for sheer fun and Puzzlemaster for the true challenge and Fun! We had multiple host throughout the day and they were very nice! They never introduced themselves by name but all were great hosts. Each room had plenty to do and was a solid test of teamwork. Trapped has entered my top 10 of about 60 rooms I've done so far! Thanks to Roland for helping me organize this trip! read more

I noticed that this game room started in 2016... and I must say the puzzles definitely seem to be up to date and standard of the other escape rooms I've been to. So much fun! I scheduled this Escape Room as a team building experience for my co-workers and I. We weren't sure what to expect. There were six of us and we went through Down the Rabbit Hole. It was so much fun! It required we work together and figure out the clues in order to move on to the next steps. We found it very challenging and were among the many who could not complete this room. As a note, some of us were nervous about a possible claustrophobic feel. I am happy to say this room was not claustrophobic at all. Once we got in there, the only anxiety was in completing the puzzles! Overall: a lot of fun, highly recommend, definitely coming back to do Sector 13! read more

Joining the ranks of those many who enjoyed Trapped! Escape Room's Down the Rabbit Hole here! Had a wonderful time - it didn't feel like an hour at all - maybe because we got out in 55:49 - yaaay! It was just the two of us in the room again, us empty nesters, pitting out greying head against the genius young 'uns who most likely designed the room! Great job, kids! First, what was lovely about the experience: 1. The room was playable with just two people: as empty nesters, all we do is have date nights / date days, so this was perfect right before (or after) dining somewhere. It was also nice that we didn't have to play with strangers, although I'm sure that can be an option if requested. 2. There was ample free parking. Yes, it was a bit of a drive for us, but we will drive for good things (showing my age here - it's what Martha Stewart used to say) and one of the things we absolutely go for is free parking. Trapped! is located on the second floor of a back unit of a business complex going in from the main road - and there is ample, AMPLE parking behind, even though we parked in the first spot that caught our eye ... 3. Our game master, Hana, was the perfect host. The lobby was welcoming, and Hana was such a good sport. She took the time to explain the set up to us, and made sure to offer us the chance to use the restroom ahead of our game. We didn't need to, but it was appreciated - not everyone remembers this! 4. After watching the introductory video, we were to the start of our quest, which was not just Alice in Wonderland: there was quite a bit of The Wizard of Oz there as well, and a fair bit of the Brothers Grimm. In fact, we hadn't realized it when we made our booking, but Down the Rabbit Hole actually won a number of awards for being super-immersive and family-friendly. I am also currently reading The Absolute Book, and Down the Rabbit Hole was a good realization of Shift's house there, too! 5. The puzzles were a nice workout for our rusty brains. We homeschooled our child for 15 years before our nest was empty - and it's a big reason why we love escape rooms: done well, they provide the mental challenges we no longer have. Down the Rabbit Hole was done well! There were many exciting moments in the hour that we really thought we wouldn't make it - and then we did! So thrilling! 6. In addition to free merchandise, the loyalty program offered by Trapped gives us a free room after every two rooms ... That is probably one of the more alluring offers in the world of escape rooms right now, especially since the business is bourgeoning. Trapped! is the Inland Empire's first escape room - there are actually three rooms at this location: The Lair of the Puzzlemaster; Down the Rabbit Hole and Sector 13. The San Dimas location, just a short drive away, is home to Operation X-13, Grandma's Surprise and Pandora's Box. The Lair of the Puzzlemaster and Operation X-13 occupies space in the alternate universe at their Las Vegas (a little far to drive in the peak of summer) but their One Eyed Jack room looks really good, too. I was VERY impressed with the attention to detail with the room we chose, Down the Rabbit hole. It was my son's first time at an escape room and he had a blast. We had to ask for a lot of clues since we aren't veterans at this game, but they all helped to escape. The room was dim which I thought added to the vibe which I liked. But I know my bf had a hard time seeing and reading clues because of it. And the rabbit voice (heard when you ask questions) was cool since it added to the theme of the room, but wasn't the easiest to understand. I had to listen really close. But still, I highly recommend this place. I'll definitely be doing it again. read more

OHMYGAWWWWD!!! SO. MUCH. FUNNNN!!! LOL!! This is hilarious! Can't believe I waited so long for my first escape room experience! We're already looking into booking our second one. PROS: - private rooms, just for your group only, minimum # of players must be met though. - extremely well thought out and amazing aesthetics! - super friendly staff - ridiculously fun, if you like thinking games, puzzles, trivia, etc - will put your relationships to the test! Either get really annoyed with one another or work well, you decide LOL!! - great for date night, team building, girls night out, boys night out, family night out, etc etc CONS: - once you play all the rooms, there's really no point in going back and you suffer from withdraw. Luckily there are other locations to continue the fun! I guess this is actually a pro because it can get costly if you are doing this every weekend..... O_o Check on their site often because they also change up the rooms so that it can be replayed. TIPS: - no food or drinks allowed - you will put away your belongings into a locker, you get to keep the key - venue is located in what appears to be a professional office plaza, second floor, easy to find, just look for building B. - second floor shared restroom is located outside of the suite, you will need a key to access the restroom - highly suggest going to the restroom BEFORE you start your game, no one wants a pee pee accident from being too nervous or excited ;) Shoot me a message if you have any questions! The "Down The Rabbit Hole" escape room was adorable and fun. The theme was well established with decor, sound effects, and puzzles. This is a great room to do with younger kids although the puzzles have a wide range of difficulty, so adult assistance would be strongly advised if escaping is the goal. The space is tight so I would not do more than 4 people in this one. MILD SPOILERS: - Some of the puzzles had very obscure confirmation alerts once a puzzle was solved correctly so we kept trying alternate solutions even after we solved a puzzle. I don't agree that a confirmation makes a puzzle "too easy." It just needlessly wastes time. The test of the players' intelligence is actually solving the puzzle, not wasting time wondering if they misread something or if a mechanism was broken. This is along the same lines as red herrings which are just time wasters. If it means people escape the room too quickly it means you don't have enough puzzles, not that you should trip people up to slow them down. - aside from that issue, I enjoyed the puzzles and the cute theme. The cutesy rabbit voice was fun and I liked how all the puzzles tied into the Alice in Wonderland theme. All the puzzles were fair even if they were challenging and required a few different approaches before we got the right solution. - as someone who gets scared easily, one discovery did creep me out a bit. Nevertheless, that didn't take away from the experience too much. - I loved the decor in this room, it was very detailed and theme-focused. I felt like I was actually in a rabbit hole! - I have a point of difference with one of the puzzles. I left this escape room happy but hungry :) read more

I was very disappointed with their customer service. I have only done one escape room before and my husband was so into it. I thought I would surprise him with a gift certificate to trapped because I had heard good things about it. I called to get some more information about how to get a gift certificate and the woman I spoke to was very helpful and took the time to explain each room to me and made suggestions and I thought cool I will buy it on line. She the proceeded to tell me that if I wanted an actual gift card I could come down in person to get one, so that is what I decided to do. Well that did not happen. After getting there and waiting for a bit I was informed that they do not have actual cards, well they do but they don't use them anymore. The nice girl who was helping me called the owner to see if they could be used and he was talking to her and then I guess asked to speak to me. The owner told me that they are not like Starbucks and do not have actual gift cards that you can keep using. He said that I could buy it on line and then print out some papers from an email that I would receive. I said ok fine.....but after hanging up with him I realized that I was paying with cash. Well you can't put cash into a computer and since I had already pulled out the cash so I could surprise my husband so he would not see a charge to trapped escape room on our account buying a gift certificate was no longer an option for me. I am just very disappointed with the lack of communication with the staff and the owner just really seemed annoyed with me and the situation. My advice is if you want to make $32.00 a person for this experience you should offer more then one way to pay. I know I may be a rare person but there are still people out there that still use cash. As someone who has done over 85 escape rooms, I can EASILY recommend all three games for you to play. Trapped has a diverse line up of rooms with each game reside of its own genre of storytelling. Here's my quick breakdown of each of their rooms. Sector 13: Their oldest room and you can see a bit of wear and tear in it. However there is a strong sense of atmosphere and has a rather fun an unique beginning. It's a very fun room still and I recommend trying to play it ASAP as it has been revealed that this room will be replaced. Lair of the Puzzlemaster: If you want a good brain burn and lots of puzzle density this is your pick. The intro has a great amount of cheese and the room carries an air of menace that also delves into dark playfulness. Down the Rabbit Hole: This is Trapped's award winning room and it shows! Great theming, fun puzzles and whimsical setting put it above a lot of other Alice in Wonderland rooms from other companies. It's absolutely baffling that they were able to fit this in its modest location. In general your time is going to be well spent coming to this location and San Dimas. Don't forget to claim your stamp card which can net you free shirts and rooms down the road if you come back. read more

Absolutely Brilliant! I brought out my team from Surreal Escape Games and we had a BLAST! Both the set design and clues/riddles/interplay are all superb! One small suggestion (this is NOT a spoiler) be SURE of your entry attempts on the safe as too many lock you out for 5 min; we were over-confident and this happened to us twice (our own fault) so wasted 10 MINUTES of our game! My friends and I decided last minute we wanted to do an escape room and I'm so glad we did! The room we did was called "The Menagerie" it was extremely fun. Wasn't too hard at all, but also makes you think. Our game master was Liam. He was super friendly and very helpful. When we had questions he responded right away and when he saw us struggling for a while on a puzzle, he would pop in and give us a hint.
