As someone who grew up in Buffalo, just an hour away from Rochester, it was quite the surprise running into this food truck. It had been years since I've had a garbage plate, and it really hit the spot. This is a single patty with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, ketchup and trash sauce. Fries on the side. Trash sauce reminiscent of Big Mac sauce. It is a good burger, but nothing special. Fries are crinkle fries, crispy and hot, nicely salted. Jalapeño poppers were fried crispy and stuffed with cream cheese and a mild jalapeño. These were OK, too. Rochester, NY specialty plate. The plate is exactly the way it sounds because of the way it looks. It is not pretty, healthy or vegetarian. The idea is yummy sides, toppings and proteins all layered into the togo container. Macaroni salad, potatoes, burger patty or hotdog, topped with chili and mustard, onion, etc. Some of my time in Rochester, NY has given me some knowledge of the plate. I have seen a little more variety on potato option's but over all it was good. Very filling when you want something hearty. Also excellent hangover food. We were missing the cheese on our 2 juicy thin beef burger patties. Chili had no beans and was the top topping, it helped keep the square potato's crispy. Not a fan of the name of this food, but I get that it has some appeal with what it represents and for the simplicity of it all. Trash Talk food truck markets itself as serving the "Trash Plate" (others in line behind me called it a garbage plate) "from Rochester, NY." It's not as bad as it sounds. I came across it at a local brewery, a nearly perfect pairing as it reminded me of something my friends and I might have had after a night of partying. The concept is simple: pick the meat - burger or red or white-hot dog and then, for this food truck -- it's put on top of macaroni salad and fries and then topped with mustard, onions, and a meat sauce. I couldn't bring myself to load up on that much starch, so I opted for the simpler trashed home fries, which is exactly as it sounds: fries with onions, mustard, ketchup, and the meat sauce. The fries were small cubes instead of the long, traditional shaped fries, and that worked for a less messy meal and a taste of all the flavors in each bite. I hate to say this but I'm not a fan. This is a food truck, so this review is heavily weighted on the food. The minimal interaction with the lady taking my order was pleasant, but things quickly went down hill. The food came out fast - too fast... It was less than a minute. I was a little worried, and for good reason. Just as I had suspected, the food was cold. I ordered trash fries, and after listening to a friend from Rochester talk-up garbage plates for the last decade+, I could hardly contain my excitement. Boy, was I disappointed. The crinkle cut fries were cold. They were topped with something similar to canned chili without beans, only more bland. There were a few raw onions mixed in, finished with a drizzle of mustard and ketchup. Just below the top layer lay a mess of soggy, greasy, cold, sad fries. It was such a disappointment. Soon we will have Wegmans (and their DiBellas-like subs) and today I tried the infamous Trash Talk Food Truck to get 1 step closer to complete happiness. When I heard about Trash Talk, I was hesitant because the plate had to be perfect and I couldn't bear to be disappointed with such a well loved delicacy. First, I looked up their social media accounts to check them out. Sure, the photos looked good but I needed to try it to be sure. When I heard they were stopping at a local brewery today, I knew it was time to take a leap of faith. We ordered 2 cheeseburger plates to-go for the family. It smelled so heavenly and authentic that I couldn't wait to get home. As soon as I walked in the door, everyone was so eager to try it and immediately grabbed their forks. The first bite was magical and brought us all back to Rochester. The Mac salad was perfect. The home fries are slightly smaller than usual, but I actually prefer the smaller ones because of the light crispy texture on the outside. The burger patties were perfectly cooked and they used the true white American cheese instead of the yellow one. The meat sauce is legit... the right seasoning, texture, and not too cinnamon-y. They even use Zweigles hot dogs for the hot dog plates!! The only major difference is that they do not serve the crusty bread and butter; however, this is a non-factor for us because we always ended up throwing it out. These folks definitely put blood, sweat, and tears into making their plates authentic, and they did not disappoint. Once Wegmans opens up down here, the Triangle will truly be the best place to live. read more

As a former Rochesterian, I was elated the first time I saw this truck. I was at a ceremony for a development plan in the Holly Springs area by Bass Lake. I immediately regressed to my 20 year old self and got what I always got which is cheeseburg plate all French fry, with everything. My first bite took me back and immediately destroyed the plate with a quickness. It was every bit as good as how I remembered. Though the owner was from my hometowns rivaling neighbor (Webster), her and her husband made my year. Oh and I also bought a second plate and ate that too. So effing good So now I crashed an elementary schools festivities just so I could get my hands on another plate. I do not think that anyone who hasn't grown up in Rochester truly understands its magnitude. Just like how North Carolinians don't understand eastern style BBQ. Standard crinkle fries which are good but nothing to write home about. The cheeseburger was a little dry but with cheese it was tolerable. I was also pretty hungry after having worked out and then waited a while. The staff were not very friendly. The woman that took my order was seemingly stressed and tired which I can understand since it was pretty hot out. Overall I would not get their food again or recommend it to anyone. Visited Trash Talk Food at the UNC football game today (Oct. 26, 2019). AWFUL EXPERIENCE. First my credit card could not be read by their machine (no issues with my card). I paid cash. Then had to wait 10 minutes for my fried chicken sandwich. When received it had no toppings. It's supposed to have mayo, lettuce, and tomato. I gave it back asking for the toppings. They told me they didn't have any lettuce. This was the last straw and I asked for my money back. They said they couldn't. I demanded my money back ($9). They then came back and said they were opening the lettuce - lo and behold they found some! It seems they were just too lazy to open and clean it. I took this pitiful sandwich and have informed all my friends, family and co-workers to AVOID eating at this place. NEVER will again. read more

Staff was nice, this rating is based off the food being that food trucks are supposed to be quick great tasting food. We went trash burger, with trash fries, and also the trash talk plate. All were crinkle fries you can make at your house topped with can chili... That was pretty much it, had other toppings but were so light all u could taste were the fries and the can chili. Burger was okay but for maybe $3-$4, not $8. Was in line with a good gas station buger that they fry up in the back and you pay $3 for a single $3.50 for a double. If you know what im talking about you know. Overall wouldnt spend any more money here, sad but I have to put out this "trash talk" to give you guys a heads up on the food quality.
