Good food. However, I would say the food has seemed to start coming out too bland, or too salty the past couple months. I have been ordering my food from here through InstaCart it DoorDash... and it comes in a sealed clear bag... and depending on the plate... and it's never the same... the marinara can be too salty it too bland. Example. I got three lasagnas the other night... one adult and two kids... two of ours were WAY TOO SALTY... and the other tasted like tomato paste... so I put them all in int bowl, and mixed them... reheated them. And they came out decent. However, items like the chicken parm. are great... but the chicken fet., the sauce was great, but the chicken was bland. Seems the chefs are being inconsistent. Had the most delicious and delightful birthday lunch for a grandma here this week. The lunch menu is a super value, offering soup or salad and a lunch portion main course (which I couldn't finish) with a variety to choose from for a low price. We had a nice bottle of Chianti and ordered the sausage in spicy red sauce for an appetizer that was wide-eye delicious. They served yeast bread with garlic infused olive oil that went so well with the sausage. I had the house salad which was a large variety of leafy greens and tomatoes with your choice of house made dressings, followed by the tortellini alla panna that was creamy goodness. My husband flipped over the caprese salad (bit of an up charge) made with the creamiest tasty mozzarella ever, imported from Italy. The chicken Parmesan was also a hit. The birthday girl loved her fagioli soup and ravioli. The super cheerful and helpful staff brought her a birthday cannoli before we left. The staff was top-notch and made our evening dinner delightful. The food was perfect. This was the case even though we didn't precisely order off the menu. This meant the chief had to put even more effort into our request. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our choices, and when one of those customers was my 18-month-old grandson, it was a real challenge. Not just for the chief but the staff. My son's glass never once hit empty, which is a full-time service request. Even the food's temperature was perfect. The restaurant's ambiance is ideal for a big group or a romantic dinner for two. The music, lighting, and temperature never once was an issue. I know, without any doubt, the next time I'm in El Paso, TX, and hungry for the best Italian food in the city, this will be the place to come to, and I highly recommend the same for you! read more

To start everything is way over sauced. fettuccine Pollo- chicken was cut into 3/4"X1/8" squares why? Super duper dry and tough way over cooked. The sauce was way broken and lumpy, taste was good not great, dish way over sauced! My son asked if he could get a plain bowl of fettuccine noodles to mix in. Gnocchi- was under cooked and very heavy! Not fluffy and light. Meat sauce was hot, Gnocchi was cold. Come on chef is that how your mama mia does it? Pizza- four cheese had to wait a extra 5mins+ after everybody was served then it came out over cooked. I almost broke a tooth on the crust edge. Crust was caked yes caked with flour on the bottom Over cheesed and under sauced. One bite you know the rule 6.4 my son took one bite and said no thank you! 4.5 out of 10. Mama had the fettuccine Shrimp mushroom. Way over sauced you can do better than frozen babie shrimp pre cooked from Sam Club. Tasted okay to good. Maybe she could of share my sons extra bowl of plain pasta! Appetizers- bruschetta, The tomato's came out a whole... come on Su-Chef sharpen your knife and dice it up a bit. I had never been to this place and didn't know what to expect but I'm glad I came. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the meals. And if you like calamari, get it! It not greasy at all, it's cooked to perfection and they give you a good serving as well. The bread and olive oil dip is also really good. Oh Yum! I went out of my way on a road trip to check this place out. Not disappointed. As I entered, the place was packed. Luckily, I was alone and able to be seated at the bar immediately. I chose to "build my own pasta". You choose your pasta (angel hair), 2 additions (artichokes and diced asparagus) and protein (scallops). Wow! The sauce was thick and plentiful with the right amount of spice. The bread and uniquely prepared garlic olive oil was yummm. Salad was included with a great Caesar dressing. Why is it always some of the best restaurants with the best food also feature a parking lot the size of my drive way? Anyone who has ever claimed that Olive Garden was some of the best quality Italian cuisine they've ever had needs to book an appointment with their family doctor immediately and have their taste buds and/or head examined. And then they need to come check out TBS, because this place is the real deal! I'm not even kidding here. This place nails it where it all counts (for the most part, but we'll get into that later) from the quaint and humble decorum to the ostensibly authentic Italian cuisine. We started the evening off, as we often do, with the traditional Caesar salad. And I swear to God Caesar Cardini must have made this salad himself. Because it is, hands down, the best Caesar salad I have tasted since way back in the day when Great American Land & Cattle used to make theirs almost the same way (before ultimately and inexplicably raping their own recipe). For the main course tonight, I took a gamble by ordering the lobster ravioli...despite also having my eye on the Scampi alla Griglia (which I shall try upon my next visit). Now, I've also tried this very same dish at the ever-so-trendy Olive Garden. Dude! Theirs couldn't hold a candle to the masterpiece I tasted tonight! TBS's rendition of lobster ravioli makes Olive Garden's taste like it was made by Chef Boyardee. The lobster filling was definitely legit! And it was clear these ravioli were made in house. What especially impressed me was the portion size. I'm not sure if my photo does it justice. But let's just say I was neither under nor overwhelmed with this portion size. A lot of times, it's real easy to walk away from a pasta dish feeling like an over-bloated fat ass. Let's talk about the service for a minute. See, this is one of the reasons why I think Yelp should update their website/app protocol and allow us to grant 'half stars' because this one's a mixed bag for me. Whilst I would give the food here an 8 out of 10, I'd give the service a 6 out of 10. And then invariably I could give this place 4 and a half stars, rather than only 4. It wasn't really....bad...per se. It just wasn't as great as I'd imagine it could be in a place as elegant as this. The restaurant itself is pretty small. So serving tables, I imagine, wouldn't be all that difficult. I dunno...maybe we got the mediocre waiter tonight. But this guy was like wallpaper; I couldn't get a read on him. Seriously, he was drier than my glass of Cabernet. I mean, I can't quite put my finger on it. But it was like every time he served us a plate of food or refilled a drink, he would sheepishly scurry on back to the kitchen as if he had an impending game of poker going on in the back. He never even once asked us how our food was. He also generally didn't speak much either whenever he was bringing us our food. And coming from a guy who's probably the world's ultimate introvert that despises small talk, that's saying something. Can we...like...get this guy some classes on how to have a personality? Because I would pay for that. Seriously, fellas...we should get on this. Anyway, overall...it was a great experience. I remember my wife having serious doubts about the place whenever we first pulled into their tiny parking lot that looked like it was made for a Matchbox commercial. Not to mention the rustic Italian decorum on the outside. But you know what they say about the humble looking restaurants (can't really call it a hole-in-the-wall, as this is a stand alone building). As mentioned above, we will return to this place again one date night. I already have my next meal picked out and everything. Anecdotal nitpicking aside, overall: great restaurant! Had a wonderful lunch here today. Our waiter Tyrone was fabulous. My companions each had meals they raved about. We ate off the lunch menu. Tyrone brought us bread and garlic oil. Yummy! Two of us ordered the cioppino. Delicious. Plenty of clams, shrimp and seafood. One companion ordered the spaghetti with marinara. He also had minestrone for a starter and was very happy. One of the ladies had minestrone for a starter. She said it was a bit spicy but delicious nonetheless, her entree was lasagna and she ate quietly and happily. Our other lady companion had the salad for a starter and gnocchi Gorgonzola for her entree. She said the Gorgonzola sauce was to die for! Lastly, one male companion had the spaghetti and meatballs and he cleaned his plate! All in all we were well fed and very contented. Great place to eat Italian food. I've tried this place twice so far and I enjoyed both times. I've had their gnocchi and some kinda cream pasta. Both of them were okay. Not really my kind of pasta. I really enjoyed their bruschetta. Also, they have great deserts too! Their panna cotta is really good. It has nice berry sauce on top of thick cream. So delish... The restaurant was clean and the service was great. Nice little cozy restaurant. It could get pretty busy on weekends so I would recommend you to make a reservation. They have a sign outside about their lunch special. I'm curious for that one too. I had a chicken cutlet tonight here at Bella Sera that was the best I ever had. After explaining to my server how I wanted it she actually wrote down how she ordered it with the chef in case I return. "Pollo Angelo, no sauce, no mushrooms. Substitute for olive oil and fresh garlic sauce (garlic & oil) with fresh lemon and pepper." The breaded chicken done to absolute perfection. So tender it cut with my fork. The food, the service, the ambiance!! This is a restaurant to visit if you know and appreciate real Italian cooking. There is no doubt mama is watching in the kitchen. read more

I was disappointed by the Italian soda because there was too much whipped cream & ice, not enough of the actual drink. The caprese was delicious! It was prepared like a salad with a large piece of mozzarella in the center on a bed of arugula, surrounded by tomatoes, which was different than what I expected but tasted great. The bread they serve was a lot, with too much butter in our opinion, but we liked the olive oil dip. It took awhile for our food. The side salads were large! The waiter offered complimentary dessert because of the wait for our food, but then forgot. By the time we were done and had the check, we were just ready to go and didn't mention the dessert. The interior is beautiful, and we enjoyed the music. So my wife and i decided to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary here since we had never been here before but had wanted to try it. We arrived about 645pm and were told it would be about 25 minutes before we were seated which was OK. So we finally get seated and are promptly greeted by our sitter Adam who took our drink order and appetizer order. He arrived shortly thereafter with our drinks and some delicious bread and i so mean that was tasty bread. So we order Fried calamari which was delicious considering i had never tried it before for fear it was to fishy. It was breaded just right and fried delicious with some yummy marinara sauce. Highly recommend it. My wife decided to go with Mario's Special and I opted for the Rolantini Di Pollo al Gorgonzola and they were both beyond delicious. We enjoyed the house salad they came with as the raspberry balsamic dressing was yummy. The dinner itself was very delicious and we capped off our night with a Cappucino and a slice of the wedding mixed berry cake that was a perfect dessert. After reading some good reviews and having friends recommend the place, we decided to give it a try. Their menu is LONG! I had trouble deciding what to order. From Gnochi to Polenta and everything in between. Including many dishes with an array of sea food options. My husband was mesmerized with his Calzone and I ordered a pizza to go. For which my daughter had to say "super good with chewy cheese". I went with the manicotti, heavy on the sauce, but with well balanced flavors. All I have to say is, why waste your money at Olive Garden when you can have better food at a local place? Chances are their food is more fresh than anything a big chain restaurant has to offer. This is an over priced Olive Garden. The ambiance is very unsettling. I felt like I was in a garish cafeteria. The menu plays over and over on a TV which is good because the menu reads like a novel and we needed cliff notes. Obviously people come to Bella Sera for the bar or for the alcohol; there are no good beers in bottles or on tap. Chef Ramsey would be losing his mind on the microwaved mushy noodle lasagna or the prefab pizza crust that tasted like chewy dough. I was very unsatisfied with the whole experience. I really have a hard time believing this place was voted no 1? Really El Paso? This is the best Italian food? How Sad!! read more
