Wonderful small restaurant in Rome. Their tartufatta pasta was extraordinary and I can't wait to visit again!

Looked online found a place with a good rating and close to hotel. What a find! 10 out 10. Ate there 2 out of 4 nights in Rome. Antipasti house starter was fabulous. Steak with truffle and salad garnish with roast potato was amazing - cooked perfectly. Tiramisu was best ever. Tony is a consummate professional in hospitality and will gently guide you back on track if menu or wine choices will not pair well. Sagrantino wine was excellent and paired beautifully with the steak. Be sure to make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Will be eating here again when next in Rome. read more

After a very long day we looked on yelp and saw this place that had very good reviews. We got there and this guy asked us if we had a reservation, which we didn't, and we said no. He went inside, came back in 2 minutes and he said it's ok, we have room for you. While we waited 6 more people came to ask if they have tables available. We were excited. We got inside we sat at table and while we were looking what we'll eat another couple sat to the table next to us Not even 3 minutes later a different guy came and he said that we have to leave the table cause they are all booked. There were tables available. There were tables even outside but they said we HAVE to leave and also kicked out the couple next to us. I would not go here....they were very unorganized and disrespectful. We went to "Elettra" which is one block away and we were spoiled. We had the house menu 2 courses each and a bottle of wine for 55 euros. read more

Came here back in February and finally remembered the name of the restaurant! This place was one of the best meals we had in Rome. The food and wine were amazing. The atmosphere was delightful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the spaghetti with clams and rigatoni with mushroom/sausage/pepper sauce both of which tasted amazing! The prices were really reasonable and definitely worth it. If we had more time in Rome we'd defiantly be back to have another plate of their food. We also normally don't get desert but we decided to try the tiramisu, we were not disappointed! Everything we experienced was positive here. Be sure to show up as soon as they're opening if you don't have a reservation since seating is scarce and could mean a long wait. read more

I really loved this place. Our hotel recommended this place for its pasta, and it didn't disappoint. The pasta was handmade and tasted so fresh! My dad had pasta (I believe it was linguine) with mushrooms, I had the ravioli, my mom had the lasagna, and my brother had pasta with anchovies & a few other things. I'm not a fan of anchovies so I didn't particularly like my brother's dish, but all the other ones were fabulous. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for authentic Italian pasta. The price may be slightly more expensive, but I find that the cheap restaurants definitely taste worse. Loved this place! By far my favorite pasta place in Rome. The homemade pasta is chewy and incredibly delectable. The severs were friendly, charming, and sweet. We had the Carpaccio di Filetto Agentino (Carpaccio of Argentine Fillet) and Alici Marinate (Marinated Sardines) from the Antipasti menu. I had never been a big fan of sardines, but I am now! And I always love a fresh Carpaccio. We had the Tagliolini al Negro di Seppia, salsa rosa e Gamberi (Tagliattele tinted with squid ink, pink sauce and prawns) and Spaghetti Vongole e Pesto (Spaghetti with clams and pesto sauce) which were delicious as well. The wines paired well with the meal, and the waiter even gave my mom some wine to taste on the house. For dessert we had the panna cotta with fruit sauce and the waiter recommended the homemade Tiramisu, which was amazing! read more

Very good Roman cuisine! We ate there twice during our short stay in Rome. Our meals were excellent!! Really truly very good Italian pasta. Both times we were there, we just let them bring what they thought that we would like without us having to go through their menu. Loved this place, especially the service. We came in on a Friday night around 6:30 PM with 4 adults, 3 year old and a baby. The waiters were very accommodating and nice. I absolutely love this place. I ate here for dinner every night I was in Rome roughly 5 days. We tried different places in the afternoon and always ended back to Trattoria Cecio because the food were so flavorful and plain and simple taste good. The friendly staff was a bonus as well. They were welcoming, friendly and could recommend a good dish. We ate through the menu even though we always asked for Truffle Ravioli to start. Make sure you reserve because its an intimate place and although they accept walk in the priorities goes to reservation. I recommend the truffle ravioli and the oxtails. read more

Worst meal since being inItaly for 9 days. Had the lamb, was told by the waiter it was chops, what came on the plate was nothing but thin bones without any meat on the mat all, and a piece of grizzle that had maybe an ounce of meat on them. This was a very small but elegant restaurant. I had a salad and steak with Gorgonzola sauce. It was absolutely divine. My fiancé had the rigatoni and she loved it. All I can say is you better call and get a reservation. The place was packed. Plenty of people came in but were turned down due to reservations. The staff was fabulous. They made recommendations and were easy to communicate with. No hiccups anywhere. Probably one of my favorite meals in Rome. Food was priced a bit higher however I think it was justified. Last day in Rome and I think I landed in the best pasta and dessert I've had the whole trip. I only knocked off a star because the server wasn't very suggestive when I asked for recommendations... all he said was "everything tastes good". He was right... but I guess as an American, I like recommendations and their popular dishes. Anyway, I was torn between pasta or steak... they both looked good when I researched it. Last minute, I ended up ordering a random pasta. I got the squid and shrimp pasta with tomato creme on squid ink pasta. Wow I was impressed! Out of all the pasta places I've been to, this one was my liking. I felt like everywhere I went this whole trip the food were just extremely salty... my pasta came out perfect and el dente! Since it's my last day here, of course I had to get dessert. The tiramisu showed up several times when I was googling places to eat and man I was so glad I ordered it. It was the BEST tiramisu I've ever had. I'm not huge on sweets and never finish my desserts... and guess what? I ATE THE WHOLE THING. By far a good experience and the service was excellent except for the suggestion part. I highly recommend it esp if you're looking for a good tiramisu. Food was good, I cannot deny. However, they charged us too much. Who knew they would charge us for the bread (2 euro) that they brought out in the beginning. Also, they charged the sitting as well (4 euro per person). (Btw, we were sitting inside closed to the kitchen). We went to this restaurant because the Hotel Morgana recommended it.
