We had a group of 10. The lasagna was tasty. Ny wife and I split, which was more than adequate. The Cod special, wAs not good per another diner. The reason for the low rating was confusion over our bills. Two were provided with incorrect bills. One was given an incorrect bill twice. They charged one couple for 3 neals for 2 people. This delayed our departure by 15 minutes. We had eaten at Traverso's about 10 years ago and had bad meals. Too many other decent restaurants. We will not be back. read more

Traverso's has become a family tradition every time I come home. My parents found this spot shortly after they moved to Naperville and now, no matter what else we have planned, we always make sure we get Traverso's before I head back to the DC area. we travel a good 25 minutes to get their amazing antipasta salad, delicious italian dressing and awesome crusty bread! Today we also tried their buffalo wings, which were great! Whoever packed up our "to go" bags neglected to add the celery sticks and great bread. Not a huge deal, but knowing how caring the owner is, I called there just to mention it, so they wouldn't forget items for the next caller. I have to say, the young girl on the phone was so sweet. She then put a gentleman on the phone who apologized profusely and bent over backwards because these two items weren't included! Being a business owner myself, I was blown away with his caring attitude. In this day and age, where most biz owners don't give a darn, it was wonderful to hear this. Traverso's has become my favorite Italian Restaurant in the area. Their lasagna is second to none, meat sauce is excellent, and I really like their pizzas. One other item we always order is the potato skins. You wouldn't normally review a simple appetizer like a potato skin, but Traverso's are amazing. I've become a weekly diner there, usually take-out. The only word that came to mind after eating here was Average. Nothing to rave about, but also nothing to complain too much about. I have had much better and much worse- in terms of taste, service, prices. We went on a Saturday night at 6:00 and were pleasantly surprised to only wait for 5-10 minutes for a table of 4. We had: Thin crust pizza- Good, but not as fantastic as some of the other reviews would make you think. Other places in town- notably Vito & Nick's- are clearly better. Lasagna- Not very good at all. They list it as lasagna bolognese, which would make you think it has a bolognese sauce. Incorrect. It was a lot of noodles and a lot of ricotta, with some meat sauce on top. Definitely stay away from this dish. The caesar salad they gave with it was excellent. Caramel Apple Crunch- Quite tasty. Service was spotty. The waittress was very friendly but disappeared for long periods of time. All in all- not a place I would recommend as there are places very close-by that have better pasta and/or better pizza. read more

Being that we just moved to Naperville this last April we haven't had the chance to dine at many of the local places but let me tell you this is a place that tops any Italian restaurant I've ever been to. Service was great, food was absolutely fantastic from the appetizer to the homemade bread, homemade salad dressing and the homemade sauces with every pasta dish! In my second visit to this restaurant I brought my family alongside. 3 kids age range 15-8 and my wife. We were promptly seated in a booth near the kitchen. We asked to move to a different booth and the waitress immediately obliged. I can't remember her name but the waitress was awesome! She frequently checked in on us not being disruptive, but always keeping our glasses full and available for requests. The house special was all you can eat spaghetti w/salad or soup. That what I chose and the family had the signature pizza. The food was delicious! Pricing was just right and the ambiance of this place is excellent. I'm local so I'll be returning of often. read more

Very very classy establishment this is exactly the way to run a family restaurant. Weekly specials that are homemade that are to die for.... Fast attentive service tip well and get treated like a king a place where everyone knows your name even the owners. Came here for dinner and sat in the bar. In my opinion the food/drinks are overpriced, and their cheesecake (that they are apparently known for) tasted like cool whip and sugar. $6 for a small square. Pizza thin crust wasn't bad, but places closer to us are similar/better, So we wouldn't go out of our way to go here. Hostess and waitress were extremely nice though. Had the garlic bread "loaf" and a cheesy crab dip for appetizers, the load was square pieces of garlic bread and the dip wasn't bad, a bit too salty but overall Good. Went here for a luncheon after my grandmas funeral yesterday. There was a large group of us and the staff was great. They brought us refills before we even had to ask, were very efficient in taking our empty plates and were extremely attentive. The food was great as well. The pricing is more than fair, the food is amazing, the staff is attentive, and the location is phenomenal. Never again. Our party of 3 was completely ignored by our waitress while we watched the party of 15 that came in after us getting served and eat while we were sipping on our tiny little apple juices filled with mostly ice. They charged us $3.00 for those which was a joke. $18.00 just for juice? Absurd. We were so hungry and the waitress was not at all apologetic about it taking 2 hours for us to get our food. We ordered a salad, popcorn chicken (kids), and a pizza. Nothing too involved there! I could have gone to the store and home and cooked all of that in less time. This was an enormous disappointment! The dishes we have loved are bow tie pasta, cheese ravioli, chicken parm, and lasagna. They have a very good craft beer menu. This would be five stars if we had not had the pizza. Traversos is one of the true values in the Naperville area in terms of Italian cuisine. I have never found the restaurant empty regardless of day or time. One of the two owners, which I believe are brothers, seem to always be on the job, ensuring everything is up to standards. More often than not one of them will come to the table and ask if everything is satisfactory. Traversos has a modest number of menu choices, but executes them well. The wine list seems to have been upgraded. My wife and I dined there this past Sunday. The place was busy with one long family table occupied (10) plus a special party group in the back room. In spite of this our service did not suffer. I had a simple pasta dish and my wife ordered a customized pizza. Everything was done nicely and we got away without breaking the bank. Portions are such that one often takes home leftovers. A recommended staple for neighborhood Italian food. read more

Went to Traverso's to enjoy pizza and watch Blackhawks. Game was on but after 1st period bartender changed station to watch Olympics. Asked him to change it back a few minutes later. They have 3 TV in bar all were tuned to Olympics. He changed it back to Blackhawks game. In less than 3 minutes he changed it back to Olympics. Pizza had not arrived. I got my server gave her $20 for the Pizza and walked out without my dinner. Will not be going back and I had been going to this place at least once a week for some time. My family goes to Traverso's frequently. The bar area is great. It is not unusual for the owners to come and visit you at your table. Great service. Several dishes we recommend are the Gnocchi, lasagna, ravioli, all with meat sauce, yum! The bread at the table is fresh and warm. If super thin crust pizza is something you crave, theirs is the best. Their special and white pizza are awesome.
