    Polish sausage, add cheese

Mr. Travis is a legend around these parts, that's why I can't believe that I have never reviewed his truck! His food (for the most part) is consistently delicious as he obviously knows what he's doing-he's been doing it for 50+ years! I opt for the polish sausage with cheese, the Bear burger or the loaded fries. This is not a date night, "I want to eat cute kinda meal". This is a big-back, we've been married awhile now and "you know I'm about to throw down kinda meal"! Lol! Service with a smile and the food comes out quicker than most other trucks. I prefer going to the white truck when Mr Travis is on it versus the red truck that parks at Saturn. There's a difference that only old school Travis fans will understand. Both are good but it's a difference, plus you get to see a legend and pioneer of food trucks at work! Follow his FB page to see where he's located or call the number listed and ask where he will be. Trust me...you won't regret it!

It's a Friday night , after having a few drinks. You get Travis, right ?! The food truck is a fixture in front of Saturn ... in Avondale. I placed my order with a nice gentleman. Food didn't take long at all. There was a little mix up with my order but was quickly resolved. I was so ready to tear into this polish dog! It wasn't as good as I remembered. Way toooo much sauce and extremely too many onions. I didn't love it and didn't care to eat it all. I've always been a fan of Travis. If you never experienced it, I think you should give it a shot.

Fast and friendly service is a given upon each and every visit. Whether you are hungry at the moment or need a prepared lunch for the next day you had Best get you a 'Bear Burger's with the works. Big enough for one with a hefty appetite or has been known to be shared on a rare occasion. Depends on how well liked the other person is at the moment. Haha! Always have additional options of bagged chips and soda or water to complete your order.

We've eaten here several times. I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed Travis's food truck. Travis was at Secret Stages last weekend so I had to get a burger. Travis makes everything to order so there was about a 15 minute wait, which I was okay with. I'll wait for fresh, hot food. The burger was good, but it was missing that ground beef sauce I am accustomed to. My husband mentioned it, too. Our food was delicious so we'll stop by his food truck again.

Amazing! I tried both the burger and the polish sausage with everything on each and they were both SO delicious. And huge! Probably one of the best burgers I've had. Would definitely recommend. And great customer service too!

Best hot dog I've ever had!!! The food truck is located outside of Saturn and we stopped and got a hotdog before we went in and they were so good had to go back to get a second (and third) when we left. They were the sweetest guys ever and joked around with us the whole time we sat outside. I HIGHLY recommend!!

If you're in the Avondale area at one of the night spots and need a bite to eat, give Travis Chicago Style food truck a try. The menu is very limited. The only options are burgers and polish sausages with one vegetarian option. I ordered a Bear Burger. It was good but probably not something I would order on a regular basis. However, its perfect for late night eating after a few cocktails. The owner was fast and efficient. No complaints.

This is the definition of Food Porn My daughter and her husband took me to 41st St while I was visiting Bham last week. I was introduced to what can only be explained as the hot dog I've spent my life looking for. As a hot dog lover my daughter told me I had to try Travis and omg I'm so glad she did. This is a taste explosion and will be the standard all other dogs are compared to from now on. The care and love for his customers comes out in that amazing sauce. This is definitely a must have when visiting the Birmingham/Avondale area. I'm already back in Missouri knowing my first stop next time I'm in town will be to this Amazing food truck. Thank you for doing what you do.

WOW, what a surprise. Just when you thought there was nothing else you could do with a hamburger along comes these guys, !Travis Chicago Style'. They keep it simple and serve 2 items, a giant hamburger and a polish sausage. I ordered the hamburger. It came smothered in grilled onions, peppers and a special sauce. It was messy but oh so good. My motto in these situations is, if it is that good then wear it proudly. If you see this food truck around give it a try. But you better bring an appetite.

Fast forward to this week, 7/2024. It was my turn to pick a place for happy hour. I called SKA last Thursday & asked what time happy hour is? The staff replied "Either 4pm or 5pm until 7pm." I asked her to please find out and I'd wait. In response she asked me what time I planned to come. I told her, 4pm. She responded, "YOU SHOULD BE FINE AROUND THEN." I was baffled and just asked for her name and ended the call ... We went to Courtyard 280 ‍ It just so happened that my friends picked SKA for brunch today, Saturday. I'd resolved that I was going for the company and would put all of my past experiences aside. My food experience had been prior the food truck and brick and mortar. So I was open to giving them a chance. I'm so so glad I did! They refer Saturday brunch as a Day Party. It's on the louder end of the spectrum, which is perfectly appropriate for a day party vibe. There was a DJ ... at some point my friend asked, Are they playing GloRilla?!? lol! I'm a fan so it was fine. Our waiter had great energy and he was attentive. The decor is nice. We ordered the mimosa flight. They were good, 4 flavors - strawberry, mango, blueberry, peach - not too sweet. I ordered shrimp and grits. The grits were thick (that's how I like them) and well seasoned. The shrimp was plentiful! was not over cooked at all. There was shrimp in most every bite. I'd recommend this. My friend ordered the fried catfish and grits and said she enjoyed it. The biscuit tasted canned - it wasn't needed though. This was a nice experience!

One thing I really liked was the wide variety of protein options on the menu. I ordered two tripa tacos and was very happy with the flavor. The tripa was well-seasoned, and the tacos were satisfying overall. The staff on the truck were friendly and patient while I decided what to order, and I never felt rushed. My food was prepared quickly, which I definitely appreciated. The only downside was the price. I paid around $11 or $12 for two tacos, which is a bit more expensive than the food truck I usually visit. That said, I assume the higher price is due to the Lakeview location. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would definitely stop by again if I'm in the Lakeview area.

Where do I begin?…read more First of all, the restaurant is very colorfully decorated, which instantly brightens the mood. We were able to seat ourselves, and immediately afterwards the waitress brought complimentary salsa and chips as she took our drink and food order. The salsa and chips were very good. The chips were crisp and freshly made and the salsa had just the right amount of kick to it. It was sweet and unique and I could see myself ordering it as a to-go order. For our entrees, I ordered 3 street tacos and cheese dip. My guy ordered the steak fajita plate. After a short wait, our food arrived, hot and fresh off the grill. I wasn't a fan of the pollo taco. It was bland and lacked any type of flavor. However, the campechano and chorizo versions were much better. The cheese dip stayed watered down even after it cooled but had a good flavor to it. I looked up to see my guy reaching for the salt shaker several times. I tasted a small serving of his steak. Yall..,.I kid you not. That steak had no type of seasoning-no salt, no pepper, no nothing had been sprinkled on it. To sum it up...it was overcooked and under seasoned. He kept trying to doctor the dish up by adding salt and pepper but after a while stopped because that should've been done in the cooking of the dish. He only ate a 1/3 of his dish. Upon paying the check, he attempted to share his disappointment with the waitress, who now all of a sudden, doesn't understand English. Keep in mind, we had been communicating with her just fine throughout our time there. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the restaurant location anytime soon. I've visited the truck before and will return there.

The bun was soft, fresh, and really complemented the toppings. The fries were crispy and tasty, making for a solid side. For our meal, we ordered the Chili Ray Cyrus burger with fries ($13.29), an Al Capone hot dog ($8.79), a Blueprint burger ($11.29), and two fountain drinks ($2.79 each). Our total came to $48.69, including tax and tip. The only thing keeping this from being a five-star review is the pricing. While the quality of the food is undeniable, almost $9 for a hot dog felt a bit steep, especially considering it's just the hot dog without a side. If the prices were a little more reasonable, I'd have no problem giving this place five stars. Overall, the food quality exceeded my expectations, and I'd definitely return when I'm in the area.
