Restaurant Week special: 4 courses for $40!! 1st course: corn and crab soup and burrata with peaches Chunks of crab in the soup. Burrata was creamy and the peaches sweet. 2nd course: beef spring roll and Gorgonzola salad Spring roll wrap was light and crispy. The steak inside was very tender. Gorgonzola salad was beautifully presented and delicious. 3rd course: crab, lobster and shrimp in a tomato bacon sauce and filet mignon with onion rings, veggies and mashed potatoes. The lobster in the seafood entrees 1/2 of a tail! Sauce was yummy with just a hint of the bacon flavor. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly to order, was tender and served with garlic butter on top. Veggies and potatoes were also delicious and the onion ring had a crisp batter and tender, sweet onion inside. 4th course: zeppole with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce and warm cheesecake with vanilla caramel sauce. Zepplole were warm with a dusting of powdered sugar and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. A yummy comfort food. The cheesecake was warm, which we were a bit skeptical about. But paired with the sauces it was perfect. What an absolute bargain at $40. Everything was spectacular. The only disappointment was the bread for the table. It was soft, not warm and tasted like Wonderful bread. It was saved by the olive and basil dipping oil. The restaurant is large with ample seating and nice ambiance. Went here for dinner last week with three of my coworkers. It's a few blocks from our office and al but one of us had never been here before. They have a full page of gluten free options which is so great as one of us needed those options. They had a three course option that had great choices! I really liked that all of us didn't have to do that as two of us ordered from that special menu and two ordered entrees form the regular menu. Bread and oil was brought to our table to enjoy. I love a seasoned oil for bread! I started with a warm pear salad, a salmon entree with vegetables and risotto. Then for dessert I had a mini cannoli with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Service and food a 10/10 every time. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here years ago and now my husband and I come back for anniversary and date night dinners often. The staff is friendly and the food is always phenomenal. BYOB which is a huge plus. I got one of the specials the filet with crab and cheese on top with risotto and asparagus- my husband and I both agreed it was a perfectly cooked and paired meal. Absolutely delicious!! And of course we got the chicken parm a staple every time we come here. We got dessert and the cheesecake was to die for!!! It is a very warm and friendly atmosphere despite the place being packed service was fast. My top choice always for Haddonfield's Restaurant Week. And it doesn't hurt that I live around the corner from it. For $40 and 4 dishes, it still delivers amazing bang for buck, especially considering that most of the items were not miniaturized for Restaurant Week (as I've seen happen all too often over the years at other restaurant menu offerings during RW). This year, I opted for the following from the RW Menu: Started with fresh, warmed slabs of bread that came with butter and the restaurant's signature seasoned olive oil. I need to remember to get a bottle of this stuff. It's liquid gold, especially if you tart it up with some fresh parmesan and hot red pepper flakes. Zuppa de Grancino - crab chowder in light tomato base. Pretty light on the crab itself, but the flavor was delicious. Lasagna al peperone dolce - a meat lasagna in a giant stuffed sweet pepper. HOLY PEPPERS. I would've eaten this as a main course. Just out of this world and a terrific surprise in the menu. Panko crusted pork chop - Huge. HUGE serving. Perfectly done, bone-in, perfectly fried, served with roasted potato wedges and steamed veggies. Could not finish it, it was so huge - gladly donated it to a friend as leftovers. Torta al cioccolato - I've eaten a lot of chocolate cake over the years (and my waistline is proof), and this was among the best I've ever eaten. Meh. *shoulder shrug emoji* FIRST the place was packed, and there was a wait. (We didn't have a reservation.) BUT, they were able to seat us immediately outside? Um....ok. SO, we sit at an outdoor table with plastic patio chairs, directly under a bee infested tree, dropping vegetation into every facet of our meal. Both of our waters, our wine glasses AND food had tree flotsam drop onto our un-umbrella-ed table. Secondly, our waiter was nice, but looked like an absolute deer in the headlights. Service was NOT good. At one point, we thought it was just us, but then the Misses noticed a table that had been sat for about 15 minutes and they still didn't have their drinks. (At one point the woman from that table came over to ask us to take a picture of her husband and her. She had asked the waiter 10 minutes ago, but he must have forgotten. She said herself, "the service here is lacking.") For example, our waiter greeted us and opened our bottle of wine, then asked for drink orders. "Just two waters," since we brought the wine. He left to get them.....maybe 5-10 minutes later, he comes back and asks if we're ready to order. I, because we were busy talking amongst ourselves about the seating and service hiccups, didn't know what I wanted from the pretty small menu, so I asked for few more minutes. I'd say another 5-10 minutes, the bus boy/food runner comes out with water for the table, at which point I ask for two wine glasses. At LEAST 10 minutes our OPEN bottle of wine sat on the table. Waiter comes back and we place the order, and THEN he says he'll get bread for the table. Another 5-10 minutes for bread. ( I WILL say, a positive was their olive oil dip, but that too has a negative that I'll get to.) 10-15 minutes or so later and the entrees come out. "Would you like red pepper or parmesan?" "Yes, I'd like both please!" "I'll go get them." Why not bring them with the damn food?! ANOTHER 5-10 minutes to wait for the spices. As I wait, tree litter floats down into my pesce primavera. Ugh. In short, service was a weak point. The food itself was no saving grace either though. Crab cake that was all backfin/claw/etc and a decent pasta dish for me that was not worth $48. Like I said, the oil dip WAS great; good oil with a ton of italian herbs and spices. I liked it so much, I bought a bottle to take home. I go to use it the next day and there is LITERALLY maybe a THIRD of the spices in the take home bottle. Just 95% oil. For $18, I'm quite disappointed. I ended the meal with a decent cappucino, but again, not sure if it was worth $5.50 $126 later and we were out of there; not MAD at the meal, but certainly feeling like our money could have been spent better somewhere else. And with the crazy amount of choices in that immediate area, I highly doubt we'll ever be back to Tre Famiglia again. read more

This is such an adorable authentic Italian restaurant. The space was divided into 3 sections, the main dining room and two seperate event rooms on the Saturday I attended a wonderfully executed baby shower. The other event room was hosting a group for a baptism celebration. There are seperate entrances and each space is private. The staff, from the beautiful hostess who greeted us to the servers were all incredibly personable and professional. The food, with each bite was a welcoming experience of freshness and flavor. Went to TRE Famiglia in haddonfield tonight and wanted to warn others to really HEED THEIR WARNING. I remember having a GREAT experience four years ago which is why we went again tonight (not a big Italian food fan). The first thing I noticed was that there menu now states a disclaimer for those with celiac to use your own discretion. I was so hesitant and told the waiter that I would rather not eat than get sick. He assured me that I would be fine with the steak and all surfaces were separate, so, I took the risk. I chose the steak with risotto and in the risotto I had found a fettuccine noodle. I brought it to ther attention which they tried to tell me it was an onion. The texture did not match that of an onion, I made sure to examine the "noodle" before bringing it to the waiter attention. Being glutened is one thing but gaslight is another. Please, don't take the risk and learn from my mistake. The disclaimer is there for a reason even if your waiter seems so confident- I paid $60 for a dinner that will cost me a month of issues. read more

My wife and I have been to Tre Famiglia many times, however last Night was not very good! It was only 5:30pm they were very busy. The Mussels appetizer was excellent however, my Filet Mignon steak that I ordered Medium rare was medium well, dry and tasteless! My wife had a Veal Cutlet dish that was overcooked and dried out! It appear the both meats were cooked previously and kept warm before serving. I should have talked to a manager but they were so busy and I didn't want to waste my time. I'm sorry but I work to hard to spend my money and time at a restaurant that doesn't treat the food properly. There are many better restaurants in the area so we will not be retuning to Tre Famiglia. read more

My experience was very underwhelming. Our server, Peter, was probably the most impressive part. He recited the specials perfectly. Also, he was attentive and friendly. I guess since we didn't have a reservation we were seated in the first room where there is a lot of hustle and bustle. The bruschetta and antipasto salad were delicious!! The popular "oil with herbs" was more like what herbs??? I ordered Linguine Aurora, with a swap of papadelle. The seafood in it was HUGE and cooked well, but the sauce was so lackluster. This place is usually an A+. However, we went during restaurant week on a Sunday at 3:45 PM and it was pure chaos. I felt bad for the staff because they were bombarded by multiple huge parties at once and got backed up on all of their reservations. They were super friendly and very apologetic about it but some patrons weren't so friendly back to them. The wait staff, cooks, and busboys were really hustling the entire time. The tables were turning over quickly, and it was clear the staff were doing the best that they could. I definitely would like to go again when it is not restaurant week because they have a fantastic menu & friendly service. When it's that crowded & people are bumping into your table or chair constantly it becomes less enjoyable. We went for my mom's birthday and I will say the prefix menu had some delicious options on there. It was only $40 a person for four courses. I regretted getting the 6 ounce filet because it was over cooked. I felt bad sending it back since they were so busy but they did exchange it for a steak that was cooked the way I had asked which was medium. The green beans were undercooked and the mashed potatoes were dried out. The dish had no wow factor to it. It's always hard when you do a prefix menu because they're just making the same dishes over and over and sending them out so I'm sure much of it is made in bulk. I will say the lobster ravioli with baby, shrimp & crab meat, in a lemon tomato cream sauce was amazing. The crab chowder soup was just okay. I'm a huge fan of vodka sauce AND I think that store Famiglia may have topped my previous favorite restaurant for vodka sauce and I think it may be because of the sausage in this dish. I also tried the bruschetta and mussels. Both were delicious and highly recommended. Additionally, the service here was great. I think reservations are good to have as it does get busy here! I'll definitely be coming here as long as their vodka sauce continues to be this good! read more

My primary complaint is that tonight when I ordered takeout for 4, after I drove home, I discovered that they forgot to include my main course despite charging me for it. I called and asked if they could deliver since they made the mistake. They said they could not so I drove back to get my food. Minimal apology and no offer to give me the dish for a discount or give me a gift card or a free dessert or something. Just bad customer service. Some of the problem is that the two women I was dealing with looked barely out of high school so probably didn't have the experience to know what to do, but that also comes from the top. Tres Familia owners, you should know better than this. My family has eaten many meals with you, and I was very disappointed tonight in the lack of customer service. Do better. I hate giving out five stores, because everyone does. I like to honestly rate a place. The only thing I was disappointed in was the Caesar salad. I split it with my dinner, mate, her choice, and I said not for nothing I've had better bagged salads from the grocery store. Now, with having said that, I got something called linguine Aurora. It's kind of a blush sauce with linguine and seafood. I said the sauce is so darn good that I didn't need the seafood. Of course I ate it. But it was very, very good . I think that might be my go to for now on. We had a delicious meal and the bread is darn good too. We had to wait 30+ minutes past our reservation for the 3rd consecutive year. We've always gone here but we are going to switch it up next year. The food was not as good this time around - we got the chicken parm, linguine & clams, seafood aurora, etc. Things were a bit bland and the chicken was overcooked. The server was very nice and attentive. The atmosphere is decent but a bit tight in the lobby and dining areas. We don't dislike the place but it has certainly taken a big step backward recently. Tre Famiglia has made it to my area-favorites list. To put it simply, the Italian food is executed with perfection and quality. I've had the opportunity to try the food on two occasions now, with overlap in the gnocchi, fig & sausage dish and peppers with mozzarella appetizer. In addition to the previously mentioned quality, let's add another plus as consistency. The homemade pasta figuratively rocks my socks. I've had the penne vodka and crab mac & cheese. Both were creamy and made for adults. Portions were all good too. I've had the warm apple pie and cannolis for desserts. You cannot go wrong. Bonus points for being in Haddonfield and a BYOB. Really bummed to say I was extremely underwhelmed with our experience. The service was.. fine. Our waiter wasn't the most friendly and I felt kind of jealous of the other tables who clearly had much more personable waiters. He never even checked in on us to ask how the food was. The ambience/atmosphere was pretty lackluster. I was also surprised to be seated next to a big birthday party with a bunch of kids and people very dressed down. Husband and I got dressed up because we thought it was a more upscale restaurant but I think we were wrong. The starter bread is low quality and the oil-and-whatever dip is very basic and forgettable. Husband got crab bisque. It was fine; mostly puréed and very small bits of crab but good flavor. Then we split the apple and grilled shrimp salad, and this was my favorite part of the meal. It was excellent. Great flavors and a decent portion size. Husband got some seafood dish for his main, which he liked. The vegetables he received were laughable. Just steamed slices of what looked to be zucchini and peppers. So unbelievably bland for something so very expensive. I had a chicken dish with prosciutto and spinach. I asked to swap out the risotto for a side of plain pasta. The waiter seemed really hesitant about doing this and almost confused by my request. I did wind up getting a small bowl of (bland) pasta, no vegetable as advertised (although based on my husband's veggies, you can keep them), and a meh chicken dish in a very wine-heavy demi-glacé. I did not enjoy it. Lots of dessert options and we decided on the "fried cheesecake", which we were both excited for it, only to again get disappointed when we see it's basically just a sweet fried eggroll with some cheesecake filling, cut in half. We had decided to order tartufo to go, since I was pretty bummed out about the entire thing, but our waiter immediately brought us the check; didn't ask if we needed anything else, more coffee, etc. It wasn't even busy! I didn't bother asking to add it. I was also disappointed to see that I was significantly up charged to swap the risotto for a pasta side. It was not the size of a full side dish, and the waiter didn't care to let me know it would be any additional fee to swap risotto to pasta and additionally lose the veggies..? So I paid more for less food? Confusing. Really wish we had picked somewhere else for our wedding anniversary dinner. My first time here. It was a beautiful night and we decided to sit outside. It was a nice crowd to be a Thursday night. The hostess was very friendly. Our waiter was exceptional. He was really good about the specials and food selections and answered all of our questions. The food was AMAZING!!!! the salmon special was on point. Came here with a party of 6 on Sunday to celebrate my mom and aunt's birthday. Service was great, atmosphere was lively, and food was tasty. I was pretty surprised at how packed this restaurant was for a Sunday night. There were many large parties, so I assume this place is a popular spot to celebrate occasions. Our server was very friendly and patient in explaining many of the dishes to us. We ordered 2 orders of rice balls (each order comes with 4) to split, and I ordered the Cannelloni as an entree. For dessert, we split an order of the tiramisu, a cannoli, and a chocolate lava cake with ice cream. We ordered a small bottle of Malbec as well. They don't sell by the glass here, but a small bottle is probably about 2 large glasses of wine. Honestly, I thought the wine didn't taste very good. But I think this place is BYOB, so wine probably isn't their speciality. The rice balls are tasty! They're a bit sweet - almost like a churro, as my cousin described them - but still had the cheesiness of an Italian rice ball. They are pretty big in size that I wish we had stuck with one order instead of 2, since they can easily be split in half. The rice balls come with a small salad as well. My mom and sister both ordered the crab bisque and they LOVED it. Our server also highly recommended it, and it smelled amazingly. Probably worth a try! I personally did not like the Cannelloni much, to be honest. It's EXTREMELY cheesy because the ricotta is strong. There aren't that many pieces of crab in the actual dish, and it just ends up tasting a bit too ricotta-y for me, without much else to it. I wish I had ordered a pasta dish because all pastas are made in-house and the rest of my family who did order the pasta dishes seemed to love them! In terms of desserts, I HIGHLY recommend the tiramisu. It's not too sweet, and tastes great. The cannoli was alright, but nothing extremely special. Went there for my mother's birthday. I wasn't too impressed with the appearance of the restaurant, as there were large stacks of chairs and tables out front that gave the impression that the restaurant wasn't open. We made a reservation for 5:30 (on a Monday) and really didn't need to. The place was practically dead with only (I believe) one other party seated in the dining room. Something my family didn't enjoy was that we were seated directly next to the other party, despite having a completely open room. Aside from this, the wait staff was friendly and checkied in regularly. As far as food goes, I was not a fan of the bread they serve; however, I also don't enjoy sesame seeds and the bread was covered in them. The bread is served with some sort of herb (mainly basil) and oil mixture that was rather tasty. We got the calamari fritti ($17) and split it as a family. This, in my opinion, was the best part of the meal. The marinara was exquisite and the calamari was cooked perfectly, not rubbery or too chewey. I ordered Chip's gnocchi pomodoro ($24); however, I wanted the linguine aurora ($37) but it was just too expensive in my opinion. Though, that's usually how seafood goes these days. The gnocchi was fine, nothing to write home about. It was just standard italian food. My family seemed to enjoy their food more than I did, so I'll just chock this up to personal preference. We had a lunch reservation on Mothers Day for 4 adults and 1 preschooler and 1 toddler. They sat us at a table in a corner nearest the kitchen. We asked to move but were denied. It was terribly noisy with a ton of foot traffic, as could be expected. To top it off, the food was extremely mediocre, considering all of the excellent Italian restaurants in the area. I emailed the restaurant when we got home but have not gotten a response so I decided to leave a review. In hindsight, we should have left when they refused to move us. Food came out fast and timely for the courses. All courses were delicious! We upgraded to the crab bisque for the first course and another of our party upgraded to the veal chop.
