Either we were racially profiled or profiled because we were in "workout" clothing. I'll never give business to a company that treats paying costumers differently based on how they look. There were only three other sets of women in the store at the time and she noticeably went up and acknowledged every single group, multiple times asking if they need help or what they are looking for. She found shorts for our 13 and 16 year old sons and allowed them to use the dressing rooms to change into dry clothes. I feel like she gave us great deals on all items purchased, especially for the situation and even ran out bag we forgot out to us as we were leaving. Two of my pieces did sell, and per our arrangement, the profits were supposed to be split evenly. Unfortunately, I have not received my portion of the payment for those sales. I've reached out multiple times over the past year trying to resolve the issue, but I have not been paid. In addition, my interactions with the store during this process were surprisingly rude and unprofessional. At one point I was even told that if I wanted my payment, I could take the matter to small claims court. I create and sell my work as a retirement hobby, and I trusted this store to handle the agreement fairly. Based on my experience, I would encourage other vendors to be cautious and make sure they have clear terms in writing before consigning items here. My hope is simply that others avoid the frustration I've gone through.
