I have used tree tech 5 times over the years. Every time the crew arrived on time and ready to work. They do an excellent job and clean up afterwards. They chip the tree stumps the best. They go below the ground from 6 inches to 1 foot so that grass seed grows well after adding soil to the hole. They are knowledgeable when they prune my large oak and maple trees, the trees respond well to the pruning. There equipment works well and seems to be well maintained. Hello, I want to give props to the great customer service Janelle provided. I'm happy with the stump removal. I have an awkward set up in my backyard and my stump was located on a raised bed of dirt. They were able to get their stump grinder up on the platform to complete the job. Their machine broke towards the end of the job but these things happen. Nonetheless, Janelle did a great job keeping me in the loop with the turnaround time.They just came back out today and I see they grinded the remaining stump and they removed the two large stump remains. These guys were amazing. They showed up about 30 minutes late, running behind but they made up for it. They cut down the tree within 30 minutes cleaned up and we're out of here. I was very happy with there services. Only thing I would say is we had some plants underneath that I don't think they could've avoided hitting. so if you're particular about your plant underneath the tree you might want to mention it to them. We hired Tree Tech to cut down and then remove the stumps of five 30+ feet tall cypress trees, trim a very large tree away from electrical lines in the front yard and trim a large tree in the back yard. The price was very reasonable. Even though we waited five weeks (this was consistent with all tree trimming companies local) the wait was worth it. This is a travesty. They are over priced and sub some of there services out. FYI- if decide to have your tree trimmed "Lew" will supervise and take part in the trimming, but if you decide to cut a tree down, he subs that task out. I know this because I called Tree Tech and left a message for a quote. I left the address where the trees where to be taking down- no stump grinding. The following day I received a call from someone with a bad accent and he gave me a quote for $1400!!!! TO TAKE DOWN 2 TREES!!!!!!!!!!!! I told the person i received a quote less than 18 months ago for $700 for the same job.... I know gas prices didn't double over that time and the economy is in a slump, but how does that translate to doubling your price? He said he would take $300 off for no stump grinding making the total $1100. RIGHT!. I asked him why the big difference. All he said was I will have Lew call you. I spoke to Lew and he said the quote he previously gave is out of dated (that still doesn't explain the doubling of the price). I told him I would pay $550 to take down one tree. He told me he would have someone call me back the following day. That was 3 days ago. Instead I called another service (Stumpman) and he wanted $800 to do the same job. We just had a silver maple tree removed by Tree Tech. We went with them because their quote was significantly lower than another company. Ruben (arborist) was prompt and very knowledgeable. The day of our tree removal, Pedro and his crew arrived when they were suppose to and removed the tree in approx 1.5 hrs. They also cleaned the area and hauled all the debris. Another worker named Brian and his crew came back 2 days later to grind the stump. Again, they were on time and did a great job. We were also given a recommendation for future trees to plant. Not impressed with this organization at all. Called in late October in response to ad in weekly shopper paper in our area. While not particularly happy with the date for service we were given--two months out, we accepted it. This was our first mistake. Anyway, the week of scheduled service we called to confirm and remind them that there are underground utilities nearby that would need to be marked. This information had been given when we agreed in October to the service. So, now the company wants to put us off another full month, because they failed to contact USA. Three months to cut down one tree in the front yard--go figure. Seems like a professional tree-cutting service would have called USA in plenty of time. In any case, this organization had two months to figure out their approach. They just didn't follow through. Five Star tree service! Of 3 estimates to trim a 40' Mulberry tree, they were the lowest. .. but we're booked out 6+weeks. I asked to be placed on a cancellation list (I was concerned the main branch could fall during the next big storm). They called within 3 weeks, and came this afternoon! I have been very pleased with Tree Tech Services! I have 2 big honey locust trees that I have trimmed with mistletoe removal every few years. They always do a great job for a reasonable price. This past January was no exception. Since it was January and all the leaves were gone, the guys overlooked a large dead limb. I called Tree Tech when I realized that that limb was not going to leaf out and was dead and asked if they could come out and take care of it since they were supposed to remove all dead branches from the trees. Terry, the arborist came out to look and said definitely they would take care of it. Today the guys came. They had cheerful attitudes and removed the dead limb and cleaned up the trimmings. From the initial call, I made to inquire about their services, to the consultative visit from Rueben, their Arborist, it was a seamless and professional experience. On Rueben's advice, I ended up having an additional tree removed due to its position and invasive root structure that would, in time, compromise our walkway. Two of the guys from Tree Tech showed up this morning bright and early around 8:07am. They proceeded to grind the stump and clean up the area. They did a good job. The guys were so professional and polite. They were done by 8:50am. I'm changing my review from 3 to 4 Stars. To me customer service in a company from beginning to end is important. All they had to do was to communicate yesterday that they were going to be late. I took the whole day off of work and a morning of another day to accommodate them for not being here when scheduled. Tree Tech trimmed a large sycamore tree in my front yard and my neighbors front yard. I had used Davey tree service in the past but Tree Tech's bid was $50 under Davey's and my neighbor wanted to use Tree Tech so I went with Tree Tech. They were going to come out and trim both sycamore trees in one day. They showed up a day late, didn't even finish my neighbors tree and said they would be back the next day to finish. They didn't come out or call the next day. I called and they said they would be there the next day. Two days later when I came home my tree was about 90% trimmed. There were several obvious places where limbs should have been trimmed but they were not. They called for payment two days later and I told them I was not happy with the job. Tried to charge me $50 for a city permit, when I asked if I could have a copy of the permit the said it was a mistake and it didn't need a permit They took my payment and scheduled their arborist to come out and look at the tree. They called a few hours before my appointment and said the arborist was out of town for the day and would have to reschedule. I rescheduled and he didn't show so I called again. They had the arborist call me back. He told me that he was there when they had trimmed my tree and everything looked good. I explained to him what I was unhappy about and he wanted to make another appointment to look at the tree and take care of any limbs I felt needed to be cut. I declined their offer because I didn't want to get stood up again. They did an ok job but treated me like I was a nobody for a little $345 job. read more

Terrible service. I didn't hire them, the neighbors did, for tree trimming service on the giant tree next door. It was a good deed gone bad. As the workers were cutting at the top of the tree, I had giant branches coming down on my house. Scraping the stucco, almost took out my kitchen window, and very close to hitting our (new) car. When asked if we should move the car they said no, and then branches barely missed it. It was extremely nerve wracking to watch. When questioned, the workers laughed it off and said everything was fine. Very unprofessional. You'd think that the purpose of tree trimming would be to prevent branches from recklessly coming down on your house and cars? I don't usually write reviews unless the service is exceptional. Tree Tech was recommended to me by a friend so I called for a quote. Everyone from the office staff to Lew who did the quote to the actual tree trimmers were wonderful. They did everything as quoted; they were conservative in their cuts but happy to do more if you wanted. They were quick and cleaned up thoroughly, and on top of it all, they were extremely friendly and wanted to make sure we were happy with the job. I have had work done from other tree services and not been happy with the results. I will definitely use Tree Tech again. P.S. As someone who has experienced them working on trees at the house I rent and the neighbors they are the worst in customer service ever. They tossed logs onto our lawn while working on the neighbors yard. They demand, not ask, that you move all the cars in the street and driveways and will cry to their boss refusing to work until said vehicles are moved so they don't have to walk an extra 5 feet. Tree Tech Services came out to give me a quote for the removal of a 70' tree about a week after I contacted them. After an additional couple of weeks of collecting other quotes, with the next lowest quote $200 more than Tree Tech Services' quote, I scheduled an appointement with Tree Tech. My appointment was scheduled about a month out. On the day of service, the crew showed up on time with a great attitude and ready to work. The foreman Francisco was nice enough to talk me through the process and provide a schedule. Within a few hours the tree was down and the stump grinding went without a hitch. These guys knocked it out! They impressed most of my neighbors by getting the work done fast and neatly. I've had a lot of work done recently to my home and all of it has been painful dealing with poor workmanship. What a horrible experience !!! We specified with both the boss and the tech - by phone and by text in writing - the morning of our tree trim - that we needed all our wood left in our driveway. When I said to Terry "I want all wood left in the driveway", his response was "Oh.... You do ??" in a very disappointed voice. Our 100 foot tall 40 foot round 70 year old cedar tree has been trimmed three times in the twelve years we've owned it. One trim usually yields 2 cords firewood. They took it all. The boss says "all our wood went to the dump". The receptionist says our wood was "chipped there the same day". The manager says they have plenty of wood they can give us. The receptionist promised us a delivery of seasoned oak. Nothing happened and no one called back. The tech promised us via text a "full truckload" of seasoned cedar over five days ago. That's 2 full days wasted waiting for deliveries. The boss laughed at us when we politely asked for compensation. Yesterday less than third a cord of green wood - which looks as if it is from our own tree - was dumped in our driveway, without appointment. The boss says it's the only wood he has on the property - 'because it's the wood his employees have set aside to take home for themselves".. and he says that he has "no idea when he may have another job to trim a tree to get any wood at all to give to us". Really ? This is simple theft, and a big joke to them. Worst service on the planet and after all this, in yet another phone call made to the boss - even he himself is extremely rude and flippant. On to the BBB, DCA, etc. for me - another couple of hours to spend on this idiocy today, but it's the principle... etc. The number of hours spent trying to resolve this equals a full work day at this point - so far.... read more
