You're not going to get a better breakfast in the Outerbanks. The line forming before they open is a testament to the quality of the food. Luckily the line moved pretty fast and they had a ton of seating open. I was so amazed by the menu, they had so many unique options that all sounded delicious. My husband got the pimento biscuit sandwich and it was SO good. I'm dying to go back to Duck so I can eat here again!

Biscuit is homemade and to perfection! Bacon I'd 1/4 inch thick....insane! So delicious! Not much of a coffee fan here but their breakfast, bar none, best in the area and sure to please. Outside seating in the courtyard. Pretty. We showed up after they closed, yet they still served us!!!

Delicious, MASSIVE biscuit sandwiches? Yes please. This place is a gem in Duck that we were lucky enough to try on our way in to Corolla for the week. There was definitely a line but it moved quick, and service was fast and friendly. I got the Southern biscuit with fried green tomatoes and pimento, and it was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. My wife got the bacon egg avocado and cheese biscuit and also loved it. Coffee was perfectly good as well. We ate outside and food was delivered quickly. I will be craving these biscuits all year.

Fabulous brunch spot! Took about 20 minutes to order and another 20 to get our food. There was an awesome outdoor mimosa and other beverages at a bar area outside. This made the wait more enjoyable. As did the very good acoustic guitar playing singer! Love live music in a nice outdoor setting! Food was fantastic. Loved the crab cake and egg biscuit sandwich. It had a tamarind aioli that should have helped cut the richness but there was so little of it I asked for a lemon slice to squeeze on it which somehow they had no lemon? I ended up adding some Texas Pete' s hot sauce and that helped a lot. The parfait was not remotely a parfait. It was a very genius heap of yogurt with a small mountain of yummy granola and a ton of strawberries and blueberries. Nice drizzle of honey over the top as well. I don't know why it's called a parfait because it's a big ol' plate of food. Not a stacked item in a glass. Regardless, very good! We were worried about finding seating but it wasn't a problem at all, even though it seemed crowded.

They serve the biggest biscuits or french toast I have ever seen, and so delicious! The chicken and sausage gravy biscuit, with pickles, was so good, had a tiny kick to it. Friendly staff and great service.

Best biscuits ever! Coffee was also delicious and super cute indoor and outdoor seating. Surrounded by lots of cute shops and under charming trees. A longer wait for food, but that's what you get when it's so good! Will definitely be going back.

I mean COME ON PEOPLE, this is a masterpiece!!!! Grilled biscuit with honey

First of all, these are the best biscuits in the world, full stop. Second, my partner and I always come here when we visit Duck, but they've recently upped their chicken biscuit game as my partner claims they have surpassed chick fil an and all other competitors. Thick, juicy, and deliciously seasoned with honey. Bonus points for the grilled biscuit to go. I'm a vegetarian and love the huevos rancheros burrito. Even when they're swamped in there, service is always on point. Excellent quality counterculture coffee as well. Don't miss it!

Chicken biscuit is good honey is delicious. Bacon was good also the egg with gouda cheese. Very pricey it was $117 for 4 adults and 2 kids for breakfast. Gravy was not good had a sweet taste definitely not southern gravy. The seating was nice and clean up after yourself. We went to the bookstore after it was really nice.

Food is amazing. I'll be thinking about this place when im back home in Va. I can't wait to come back and try the biscuits. We also bought some muffins for the road. They looked to irresistible to pass up! Coffee is also really great! Went down before I could get a picture lol.

I have been going for the past year, and they are consistent every time. Recently we went as a family. The vibe was amazing as usual. Warm, welcoming, and effortlessly charming. The staff? Always incredible. They're genuinely friendly, super attentive, and their recommendations never miss. Now the FOOD. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory, and every single item delivered: The peach pecan streusel crêpe was pure comfort warm, buttery, and perfectly balanced with that sweet, nutty crunch. I usually get extra caramel drizzle. The French toast crêpe. Imagine your favorite brunch classic leveled up into something soft, rich, and absolutely indulgent. The Nutella and banana crêpe is a crowd pleaser, especially for kids. It's creamy, chocolatey, and just the right amount of sweetness. The turkey, goat cheese, and avocado panini brought the savory side. The flavor was great, and came with kettle chips. The drinks were just as fun and unique. The butterfly pea flower lemonade, was not only refreshing but visually stunning. We also got the mango soda and a blueberry soda, both bursting with flavor and kid approved. Everything about Café Davina just hits right. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the people. It's one of those places where you walk in and immediately feel good, and then leave already planning your next visit. If you're looking for amazing crêpes, a cozy vibe, and consistently great service. This place is it!

The decor has Polynesian touches, the drinks and food nod to Samoan flavors (like taro and Spam musubi), and you can tell it's a true family business built with a lot of pride and hard work. My friend and I first heard about this spot and literally drove about 25 minutes from Ghent Norfolk over to Bel-Aire Norfolk just to try it out, and it still remains one of our favorite coffee shops in Norfolk. Totally worth crossing town for. On my first visit, I got the Apelu Island Iced Latte, a Taro Cupcake with vanilla icing and toasted coconut, and a Spam Musubi with egg. That combo right there? Dangerous. The latte was smooth and lightly sweet with that pretty taro purple, the cupcake was super moist with the coconut giving it that little crunch on top, and the Spam Musubi with egg was the perfect salty-savory bite to go with my coffee instead of the usual basic breakfast sandwich. Second visit, I pulled back up for their Taro Pumpkin Roll Latte with oat milk (one of their fall specials), and I'm still thinking about it. It tasted like fall but with that island twist; cozy, a little earthy from the taro, and not overly sweet. Just really well-balanced and comforting. The staff has been warm and welcoming every time I've gone in; smiling, chatting with customers, and making it feel like a neighborhood spot even if you drove in from across town. It's the kind of place where you can sit, catch up with a friend, get some work done, or just enjoy your drink and snack without feeling rushed. If you're anywhere in Norfolk and haven't tried Apelu Island Cafe yet, go. From the lattes to the taro treats to the musubi, it's one of those places that makes you want to become a regular. More people need to know about this place.

I love this area of the city - feels a little small town/a little suburban. I have the coffee passport and was excited to try this new-to-me spot. Mudita sits just off Ocean View Ave practically on the beach. On this visit, there was ample street parking, but I dare say it is tricky on weekends and during the summer. It is in a pedestrian-friendly area, which is a plus, so it's easy to walk to. They do make a point to remind you not to park in the lot belonging to the adjacent shopping center or risk being towed. When I stopped in, it was empty except for one table. I let them know this was my first visit and the staff was happy to tell me about seasonal specials. They have a variety of teas and coffees. I do wish they had a sample of their food menu where they take orders. I didn't notice it until I picked up my drink, so I'll have to return when I have more time to peruse it. For my first visit, I wanted to try a seasonal special drink and opted for the Vietnamese Egg Coffee. It was described as an Americano style drink with egg custard foam. They offer decaf which is a plus so I selected this. It was ready in about 5 mins and was absolutely delicious. The only downside was the size. I wasn't expecting an espresso sized beverage for the price, but probably because I'm used to a Starbucks Americano which is bigger (even for a tall) and has slightly more hot water. The flavor was impressive and I much prefer the espresso Mudita uses! Overall, a great experience. I don't often venture out to OV, but I'll definitely stop back in when in the area!
