I had a very good experience here shopping for a tree. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were able to answer all the questions that I had. I am one of those people who reads through all the paperwork they are given somewhere, it was nice to see everything laid out for me. I saw a few negative reviews when I checked them out here but quickly ignored them when they seemed crazy. Some lady was mad about how big her tree to be removed was, she also freaked out at Jimmy Johns about missing some avocado. Crazy much? Entire experience was what you would hope for. Tree selection process was great, although daunting due to the huge inventory. When the weather got too wet for our front yard they were accommodating in changing the delivery schedule. It is hard to find someone that does what they say and when the say these days. My experience from when I first called Treeland to the final result after everything was planted was excellent! I also shopped the pricing and found it very fair and competitive in the market and the only company I found with a 18 month guarantee. They worked me in their busy schedule and were great with the communication before and after the sale. The installers showed up on time to plant the trees, the workers were all very polite and professional and made sure the trees were in the right location and turned for my preference. I lost a tree in the ice storm a few years back. It was a HUGE tree. After lots of time researching on the internet I found Treeland in Gunter. Their website was great, with all types of trees, advertised pricing, and tons to choose from! Save your money and go ANYWHERE ELSE where business ethics and customer satisfaction matter. We went to this place on the recommendation of a neighbor for its perceived value ("worth the drive"... hardly it turns out). That neighbor is now in the same place we are...pissed off. We wasted almost $1400 on a tree and its replacement, both officially dead. Both the original tree and replacement were planted by Treeland. The first tree started looking poor in the first month. Nonetheless, we followed a strict watering regimen and were assured things would be fine. After watching the tree decline month after month, and calling them on it, we were reminded of Treeland's "unique" unconditional replacement guarantee (more later on this). For just 33% more, you can get a new tree if the first one dies. In effort avoid a total loss, we doubled down and ponied up another $400 to get a new tree. The tree showed up with obvious borer holes in the trunk. We pointed these out immediately, but were assured that these were just woodpecker holes and not to worry. "All the trees have them," we were told. There was also obvious pruning done ("shaping") on the tips of branches. We can only assume this was done to hide the fact that branches were dead or dying. Once again, despite a consistent watering regimen, this time within 3 months the tree lost all its leaves. On Treeland's advice we gave it a root booster to "bring it back". It came back briefly, then died suddenly. Back to the neighbor...their tree died, as did its replacement. Sorry, but this is not a coincidence. This place sells disease-ridden trees and the so called "no questions asked" warranty is B.S. When we expressed concern about the condition of the first tree, and interest in the warranty, we were indicted by Treeland for over watering or under watering the tree (or maybe both, whatever it takes to avoid accountability)...ridiculous. We emailed Treeland to let them know the 2nd tree died. To our surprise they asked what tree we wanted to replace it with. We were pleased that they were going to stand behind their product. Our surprise was met with more surprise, an invoice. Treeland sent us an invoice for $1000 for a "new tree." UNBELIEVABLE. Not only did we waste $1400 and a year and half awaiting the shade and privacy we expected would come from this tree, but now they were trying to trick us into buying (full price) another one. Save your money. read more

They were helpful in teaching us about growing conditions in Texas, what will work best in our yard and which trees would help us achieve our landscaping goals. We visited the nursery numerous times before we made our purchase, and spent a lot of time going through their nursery and selecting our trees. During the selection process we asked for their advice in making our choices, and they directed us here as well. They delivered on time, their planting crew was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I ordered a Little Gem Magnolia from Treeland Nursury. The tree I was delivered had holes from some type of bug or disease affecting 3/4 or more of the leaves. A few months later, while the new growth appears very nice, all of the leaves with holes have fallen off th tree, giving it a very barren, sickly look. I guess I should have refused the tree, but then again the delivery staff didn't ask if the tree was acceptable. I guess they didn't want to call attention to it. read more

While it is true you have to partially pay for your replacement - Treeland will replace your tree for nearly anything including your own negligence. Every other company we contacted had a list of exclusions for why they would NOT replace your tree than reasons they would replace your tree. TREELAND will replace your tree for nearly ANY REASON. GREAT place hidden back behind Preston Rd in Gunter. They have a huge selection, reasonable prices, and knowledgeable owners/staff. They take you around in covered golf carts and are very patient while you're picking out your trees (or like in my case, just following your husband around while he makes the "manly" decisions). We stopped in on a Saturday and didn't even have time to make it to the front door before someone was offering help. Our trees were just planted yesterday, so we can't speak for their health yet, but we trusted Treeland to send us what we wanted, ordering by telephone. They delivered just the right thing, on time (in fact early). Their communication is outstanding, meeting and even beating their delivery schedule. Their tree planters were experienced and fast. First of all, this place has a great website. It made it easy to select the right tree and see pricing. Then they make it easy to do it all over the phone. Dont let the distance turn you away. They communicate a lot during the order process and make it easy to reach them. No service. Drove an hour to get here was told to drive around-no help offered until we started to drive out the lot. Unless you are looking for a sickly red oak, a Chinese pistachio, live oak, or a small holly don't waste your time or your gas. It's all nice and dandy - large tree farm, trees delivered and planted - as long as your trees grow with no issues and if you do not have to deal with their customer service. But if your trees look awful after just 4 months, their so called '18-months warranty' credits you back only 2/3 of the original purchase price towards a new tree from them, no money back. Treeland says, they need to cover the labor cost. My bad that I did not read the small print and just went with my customer expectation. read more

This truly is the best place to purchase tree's. Last season I purchased 55 (45 gallon, Red Oaks, Crape Myrtles and Little Gem Magnolia's ) trees from Tree-land and there staff was great. I'm not a happy camper. First and foremost make sure you read all of the sales agreement. If a tree dies you have to pay 1/3 of its cost to replace it and when I wanted to replace a dead tree they did not have a tree of the same size. The only one they had just happened to be bigger and of course more expense so my replacement cost was almost as much as the original and when they replaced it I could not tell must difference in the caliper of the dead tree and the replacement. Those that were ushered around must have seen the better part of this company. When my wife and I went to the farm we stopped at the office and were told "just go ahead and walk around. There's marking ribbon out on that table so if you find something you want just put a tag on it." There was NO HELP AT ALL from these people. I'm no youngster. The house for which I was buying the trees is the 5th home I've owned in the last 45 years. I've planted trees from South Texas to Georgia and back to North Texas and to the best of my remembrance I think I lost 1 tree in Georgia and it was very small and on special so I think it had problems to begin with. The trees I bought at Tree Land were 45, 65 and 95 gallon trees. I bought into their Gator tree bags and fertilizer. Watered each tree just as instructed from the time they went into the ground all through the year. This year in March I found that one of them was not looking good and decided that it was not going to make it so I replaced it. I had other trees that for whatever reason were not showing any signs of putting on leafs when they should have had leafs to begin with. Not good. Called several times telling them what was going on and was just told a Bunch of Stuff. Now it is almost May and the ones that were still green under the bark are starting to turn brown where they were green. I spent several thousand dollars when I purchased the trees originally and now that it seems like I'm going to loose several there is no way that I'm going to go back to the same company and replace them with what may be more questionable trees. BE CARE WITH WHERE YOU BUY BIG TREES MAKE SURE THEY HAVE A FULL REPLACEMENT POLICY. read more

Absolut fantastic customer service!! I drove out to Gunter from Frisco on a whim, hoping to replace one of my Italian cypress trees. I met Bob, and he not only showed me his inventory, but he took about half an hour out of his time to explain to me the reasons why my tree had deteriorated, offered advise how to avoid similar symptoms in the future, best time for planting, fertilizing, other tree diseases, and when to buy them. We moved into a new subdivision and there were trees planted along the sidewalk by the homebuilders, but none in the back yard. We were fortunate because there were trees along the back fence on the property behind us. Then, the owner of the property behind decided to cut them down! This changed the entire setting of our property. We decided to plant our own and visited a few local nurserys to search for trees. I was not happy with the pricing, quality, warranty and method of planting. Doing a little web searching, I found Treeland's website. The more I read, the more sure I was going to visit. We decided it would be worth the drive to see what they had to offer. We got to their location and were treated like family. They were very accommading and answered all our questions, including the ones we didn't know to ask. We bought three trees and set up delivery. The crew delivered the trees, hand trucked them into position without having to remove and fence or tear up my yard. The trees were beautiful. All the neighbors were envious because I had the best trees in the area. I did have an issue with one of the trees and it died. I called treeland and they followed the warranty without question.I went to their location and selected another gorgeous tree and they delivered, planted and it looked better than the one I had before. I recently had a serious storm that toppeled the largest of my trees....Treeland came out, erected the tree and restaked it adding additional stakes. I can say, with surety, I have the most beautiful trees in this subdivision and it is thanks to the product and customer service provided by Treeland. Ok buyer beware if you buy a large tree and spend thousands of dollars and it dies within a week it is still only replaced one time at your expense.... "They always honor their warranty". Even when their tree specialist says there had to be something wrong with the tree remember "They always honor their warranty" which is replaced one-time at your expense plus 1/3 the original cost. REMEMBER if your tree dies within 24-hours they will "always honor their warranty". So, that great price on your tree will get real expensive as "they always honor their warranty". Even if you buy 2 trees and one does great and the other dies immediately which could not possibly be your fault "they always honor their warranty". read more

Treeland is as good as it gets! I was searching for tree's but no time to shop. I contacted Treeland after comparing prices on line. Hands down, they beat everyone in price so I picked up the phone and called. I talked to Pat, AMAZING! I explained my situation and she offered to take pictures of the trees that I was asking about that she had available and send them to me via email! now that is what I call EXCEPTIONAL customer service! I emailed her back, she tagged my tree's and I called to set a date for delivery and planting. I had to call back., Pat was out of the office and I got to talk to Sandy, again AMAZING! She shared some great information and we confirmed our order and planting date. Our trees were planted Wednesday 9/11. The men that came out were also AMAZING! They had all 4 tree's (45 gallons) planted, watered and ready to go in about an hour and a half. They were all so nice and worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect.
