Planted a Mexican American Sycamore for us in early 2016. Hurricane Harvey uprooted it halfway. They came out a few days later and replanted it free of charge despite gas shortages and it's still much healthier than the builder planted trees. Bonjour! I would like to recommend Trees Please for their professionalism. JP came with his crew and they did extensive tree pruning on our land. I have mixed feelings about this company. We've bought trees from him a few times over the past couple years, and JP is very knowledgeable and his prices are very good. But our most recent delivery turned out to be a dwarf variety rather than the full size variety. Unfortunately we weren't aware of the difference until after we planted them. I contacted JP about it twice by phone and left two messages, and later also emailed him about it. He never responded to the phone calls or the emails. I think he's not responding because he doesn't want to deal with a customer possibly wanting a refund. The funny thing is we don't want to return them, we ended up relocating them to a different place in the yard. I was actually just trying to contact him get advice and to ask to see if he could also get us the full size variety. JP in the past had been slow about returning calls, and often it would take a few tries to get a hold of him. But now that he isn't responding at all, it's reached the point that my opinion of Trees Please is less than favorable. read more

We had a dead tree removed from our front yard and needed a decent sized replacement. I called around and got lots of people that didn't seem to want to answer any questions, just quote high prices. I called JP and he steered me in the right direction and helped me pick the perfect tree for what we needed. He was very flexible in scheduling a time to come out and, most importantly to me, was right on time for the delivery and install. He and his guys worked quickly and carefully, and left my yard looking (obviously) much better than they found it. JP was very helpful and friendly, and offered me multiple ways to contact him in the future if I were to have any questions or issues. JP was good at helping me buy 3 trees for over $2000.00 and was very kind and knowledgeable. After about 6 months, the trees began leaning, so I contacted the company for someone to put another support on them. I began asking for this since April and kept getting excuses and promises that they'd be coming. Even this past week, Bobbi Lynne (JP's wife) sent me another email stating it would get done, maybe Thursday (last night). Thursday afternoon I emailed and called to see if someone would be coming, but a reply was not given to either one. I don't know if JP even receives the emails and phone calls I've left, but his wife sure does not realize the importance of following up with customers. I will not ever recommend this company. In December, JP planted a 65 Gallon Monterrey Oak for us. Bobbi Lynne & JP were extremely knowledgeable and helpful as we made our decision and got ready to plant. The tree JP planted was beautiful when it arrived and is thriving today. The customer service at Trees Please is phenomenal. Within a week of our tree being planted, our dog chewed through all the support tethers :( But JP came back within a week and re-did them for us, free of charge. This time, he used wire reinforcements and the dog hasn't caused any more problems! JP took interest in an impressive pine tree growing in our yard while he was here for the install. He said it is unique to see a pine flourishing where we live because of our soil type. He asked if he could take some pine cones and grow some trees with our seed. We agreed and he gave us a discount on the tree we were buying that day! I feel this is a testament to his knowledge and his dedication to his customers. He explained that offspring from this tree will be more likely to thrive in similar soil since ours already has; therefore, he could offer pines to his customers living in areas that might not normally be able to plant pine trees if that's what they request. This Spring, we realized the most substantial tree in our front yard has died. Boo! We're in the process of getting an estimate from Trees Please for removal and seeking their advice for what we should plant next. I want to send out an enormous thanks to JP. A friend (a tree farm owner in Bay City) had recommended him and I contacted him about providing a tree for a memorial service for my friends' 6 week old baby who tragically passed away. Due to the confusion of the week and crossed communication, JP didn't hear about it until I called him on Friday in a panic for the Saturday afternoon service. He had lots of work for the day, but rearranged his schedule in order to be able to deliver the lovely live oak tree for us at the last minute. When I called him to pay for the tree, he wouldn't even accept payment, saying he was so thankful for his own beautiful daughters and couldn't imagine what my friends were going through. It is so heartwarming and reaffirming that there are still great people in this world...to whom making money is not the ultimate goal, but helping out his fellow human beings is the priority. What a great guy who really went out if his way to help strangers get through an incredibly tough time. JP knows trees!! He answered all my questions about crape myrtles (color, growth rate, height, etc). I Ordered 4 crape myrtles from JP and had them install it. Very fair price and showed up on time. I contacted JP two weeks later to let him know that one of the crape is the wrong color crape. JP without any hesitation said he would drop by in a couple days and replaced it with the correct crape myrtle. He gave me watering instructions and even gave me some tips on keeping a healthy nice bermuda grass. read more

I live on a green belt in Austin and did not do much to my backyard for years - despite maintaining all other areas of my property. Previous attempts at making the back area attractive had failed, due to lack of sunlight and sloping terrain. I had seen some xeriscaping that Trees Please had done to a yard in my neighborhood and was impressed with the artistic approach. When JP came to discuss my property, he envisioned a "park like" environment that was definitely in accord with my thoughts. He discovered that a small piece of limestone actually covered the entire yard. From that point, it became a question of "sculpting" the area into natural steps, ledges, stonework and plantings that formed a natural flow into the woods. I couldn't be happier with Trees Please. I wanted a 65-gallon red oak installed, and they were running a special on Angie's List where they throw in a 15-gallon crape myrtle for free if you buy a 45+ gallon tree. I emailed them early one morning, and both trees were planted that same afternoon--for a total price that was less than I'd found for a 45-gallon oak elsewhere. The trees appear to be very healthy, and JP took the time to offer advice on caring for those and the other trees in my yard. I HIGHLY recommend this company and JP. read more
