It's not surprising how high this Trek store is rated. I had a pretty awful experience at a Trek store near my place of business. After repeated attempts to rectify it, I decided that I would never go back there again. When my service on my bike was due again, I was really in a tough place. I decided to go to the next nearest Trek location to my work, only to find out that it was being managed by the same person. I reluctantly went anyway, only to find out that they were closed on Mondays. I looked for the next closest location and that was Alamo and everything changed for the better. I went in, told them the problem that I previously had. They suggested I reach out to Trek Warranty and that the two of them, the Trek corporate along with the Alamo store, would make things right. I was hopeful but not convinced. 48 hours later, full resolution of my issue, and my bike came back to me after the level two service, better than when I originally bought it. This is a fantastic store. I know that their clients are difficult to say the least but these guys meet the challenge and exceed expectations. I cannot recommend this store enough. read more

This place is top of the line when it comes to service and skills. My daughter is a rider and has worked with them in the past. My need was a bit out of their lane, but Marcus stepped up and answered the call! My rolling walker had a brake issue, cable was out of whack. Raleigh was Kind and helped me when I stopped in to fill my tires. He helped with the suspension and took the time to show me tires that probably would be better for where I am currently riding. Dad that was excellent customer service! Sam B. was really nice! This is what my 10-year-old daughter spontaneously told me after our first visit to Trek Bicycle Alamo. After visiting two other bicycle shops in the area and either being pointed to the kids bicycle area and ignored or not being acknowledged at all, by associates busy on their phones, this was an appreciated experience. As soon as we walked in Sam B. the manager greeted us and said she would be right with us. When she finished her transaction with another customer she came over and introduced herself to both me and my daughter. We explained that we were looking for my daughters first bicycle. Sam B. instantly put my daughter at ease, explained the available options and made my daughter feel central in the decision making. Sam B. took the time to allow my daughter to test ride a couple of bikes. We never felt rushed and appreciated Sam's attention to the fit of the bike for my daughter. Sam B. did not try to sell us any of the bikes on the floor, but instead order the bicycle that would be the best fit for my daughter with her growth in mind. When we returned a week later, Sam B. let my daughter test ride the bike that was delivered on time. Sam made final adjustments on the bike so that it was the perfect fit for my daughter, who now really enjoys riding it. Sam then helped us find a proper fitting helmet, a pair of gloves, water bottle, cage and kickstand. My daughter was ready for her upcoming adventures. I wanted to let everyone know about this outstanding bicycle shop. Not only Sam B. but everyone we met at Trek Bicycles Alamo was welcoming and knew many of their customers by name. It didn't matter if the customer was a performance road bike racer, full suspension mountain biker or young novice rider like my daughter, they were all treated with respect. I would leave a six star review if I could. I've had two interactions with the head of the service department Marcus. He's friendly, patient, and incredibly helpful. The nut on my crank arm came loose and fell off at some point on a ride. I stopped in and Marcus looked for the part and happened to find one. He installed it and got me back on my way. This week I brought in my rear wheel to fix a broken spoke. My tires were worn too. Marcus suggested a slightly wider tire and explained the correct tire pressure for the tire and my weight. The repair was completed quicker than expected and my ride with the new tires and correct pressure was never more comfortable. read more

I went in for a mandatory safety check for a local mountain bike club. The guy didn't go through my gears or really inspect my bike before telling me i needed a full tune up to pass the safety check list for over $600 on sale. I tune my own bike and it works perfectly. It was dirty and just got new brake pads and he said they needed to be replaced. The chain is slightly used but does not need to be replaced yet he said it did. This is the perfect example of trying to do service to unsuspecting customers that they don't think know better to get extra money. Please do not trust this business. They also tried to upsale a friend to buy his kid a new bike that didnt need one. They tried to claim it was too small and unsafe when it was not optimal but fine for right now. Please give other businesses that want to be honest your business. after hearing about my friends experience and my own I feel the need to tell others to beware. read more

These guys really earned a 5 star review from me, since I was a pretty difficult customer. They helped me with a bike from another shop, multiple times, and they were always able to fix this previous bike quickly and effectively (they have great mechanics and service). Usually they fixed it while I waited- which is very hard to come by now. When I did need to leave it- it always surprised me how quickly they turned the repairs around. I ended up getting a new bike with them, which was an easy experience. The bike we obviously set up right. What compelled me to write the review today was that I just did my complimentary service appointment (after a few months of riding). They did a top notch tune up and cleaning (bike was filthy). Great service at Trek Alamo! Needed a larger cassette for my gravel bike to access the steeper trails around Diablo. Ordered the cassette, adapter and chain. When I picked up my bike, they said that a new chain wasn't needed as my new-ish one was long enough and shifted well on the SunRace cassette. Sure enough, smooth shifting on the climbs. Called earlier to ask about cycling shoes and was told that they were open, and had some in stock. I said see you in a little while. A girl said ok see you. Drove all the way to Alamo, and stood in front of the store for 15 minutes. Finally when we thought it was our turn to go inside a boy told us they only wait on people with appointments. WTF.... Why didn't the first dummy on the phone say that...! Fortunately there must be 20 cycling shops in the Tri-Valley. This is One I will Never Patronize.. :-( read more

I could not be more excited about Livermore Cyclery opening an Alamo location. I've been a customer of both the Dublin and Livermore locations for a few years, but the Alamo location is super convenient and a beautiful space. Not only that, the staff is outstanding. The manager Chris is always extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. A little bit of backstory here: A while back, I decided I wanted to upgrade from riding a hybrid to a road bike. I went to the Dublin store, knowing next to nothing about road bikes and was able to get all the information from Chris I needed. Let's be real, cycling can sometimes seem like an intimidating sport to get into on your own, but the staff at Livermore Cyclery made the entire experience amazing and helped me get started. No snobby attitudes, just great people who truly want to help you get the best bike for you. Within my first year on the bike, I rode almost 1,700 miles on the bike I purchased from them and I couldn't be happier with it. Livermore Cyclery Alamo is now a routine stop for me, I can't pass by on Danville Blvd without stopping in! I had a great experience today at this bike shop. I called in advance and was told I need to make an appointment for a bike service and it would be completed the day of the appointment. (I had called bike shops all over the East bay and the rest of the told me the wait would be between 7-15 days!). When I got to the store I waited (10 minutes) in line outside using the social distance markers until an employee invited me in the store. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and were all wearing masks. When I explained what I needed the service provider (think his name was Bob) took a look at my bike and took the time to explain what he was doing and why which I really appreciated. He also only charged for what was needed and not a full service. Highly recommend this place and will be back. read more

This shop is excellent. I have been here 4x for different maintenance issues on three of our family's bikes and every time received fast and economical service. The past time I brought my new Trek DS4 in after the derailer was damaged in transit.Severiin gave me a quote for the new part and meanwhile repaired/restored it so well it doesn't need the new part any more. I had gotten different opinions from other shops on a couple of issues and those estimates were more expensive and difficult fixes. The techs here are always available and super friendly. read more

I needed a repair of my front tire during the crazy world of stay-at-home, social distancing and expected that I wouldn't be able to get the repairs done. To my delight, my favorite bike store took care of everything. Seamless, efficient, no-contact handoff at the front door and I had my bike back ready to ride in no time! My bike was repaired and disinfected in time for an evening ride. I watched as they treated every customer with the same level of professionalism and attention that I received. Super bummed to leave this review as they have been steady and friendly in thier multi year service to me. Brought in my high end mt bike w a squeak and grind. $140 later they told me bearings. Took it home, no change. Brought it back. Told me actually I have a crack in my carbon frame. I Asked what's next. Told me nothing to be done. Buy a new bike. Just spent months trying to find frame repair or a new bike (and not riding). Finally had another shop look at it one last time. Like second opinion on a fatal diagnosis. Um, turns out crack in frame was the edge of a decal. Turns out, bike entirely fixable. Less than $250. Not sure if it was haste, inexperience (dont think it was upsell) but talk about bad info. After a huge waste of my time, bad info I paid for and almost junking a $4-5000 bike... sorry but they've lost a good client. read more

Just to be very clear this is specifically for the Alamo store managed by Chris at the time if this review. I really wanted to like this shop. I gave them a second chance after an ugly start and a very sizeable purchase. The manager & sales staff is very comfortable telling you anything, excuses and incorrect product information is the norm. They are apparently used to dealing with people with minimal bike knowledge and have no issue vomiting BS with a straight face. I would rather drive for 30 minutes to a real bike shop and deal with down to earth people that are not arrogant. This bike shop is a circus run by a clown and very sad since the Livermore Cyclery reputation is quite high or was. Go elsewhere save yourself the frustration. read more

I went by to see if they could do a quick repair. (~15 min labor). They said they were only doing appointments. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. A lot of businesses are forced into bad service due to covid. I asked him if I could book one right then and was told it has to be via the website. I went home to book an appointment on their website. The only choices are small tune up or large tune up. I called to find out how to setup my appointment since I didn't need a tuneup or overhaul. The kid on the phone said "Oh I realize it's confusing but the online appointment is just to bring it in and let us look at it and decide when we want you to bring it back to actually get the work done" They are asking people to make an appointment to make an appointment They inflate their services like an unscrupulous car repair shop They practice zero autonomy or initiative to adjust their policies based on the type of service the customer needs. This is not just a horrible bike shop, this is a picture of a dystopian future. read more
