The carnage, 30 min after I had paid almost $300 and picked us the bike. Luckily, my son wasn't seriously hurt.

I just picked up my son's ebike, having paid almost $300 in repairs. Took it home. 30 min later he called to say he'd wiped out because the back wheel came off. They hadn't tightened the bolt that holds the back tire. Side note: my son is 11 years old and 78 pounds wet! When I called and spoke to the owner, he was not only apathetic, but unapologetic. I will NEVER bring my business here again. I should've headed friends' warnings and gone to the place in Alamo. BUYER BEWARE!

I'm sure this place is great, most of the time for most people. Unfortunately we just had such a poor experience that I feel compelled to write a review. We took an electric bike in on Wednesday, November 2nd 2022 to get a flat tire fixed. We were told by Colton (he's actually really nice, the owner or manager we talked to several times, not so much.) that the tire was "on order" and would "be ready Monday". He informed us of that via voicemail, and that would be one of only two calls we would receive in 32 days. Monday comes and goes, no call from Danville Bike. We call that week and are told they can't find the tire but will keep looking, and they will get back to us. Odd, since it was on order! Another week goes by, no call, no communication. We call back, and offer to find the tire. They say no, they will keep looking and call us back. Guess what? No call, no communication for another week. We call back and say we will find the tire and bring it in, they accept. We find the tire (wasn't very hard mind you), order it, receive it within days and take it to Danville Bike. They tell us they will call when it's ready. We get a call on Friday, December 2nd 2022 informing us that the bike is ready. Again, this is a full month since bringing it in the first time, 28 days past the "mythical Monday" ready date we first got. My son happens to be getting his wisdom teeth out this same day but my wife said she would come grab it. We couldn't make that happen, and probably should have let the guy know but we didn't. Our bad (see rude Mr. Manager guy, that's how you take accountability for crappy behavior). My kid was in terrible pain, it was raining all weekend, and we just didn't do it. We figure "this thing has been sitting there a month, probably not a big deal". Well I guess we were wrong because today, Sunday, December 4 2022, not even 48 hours after the call informing us it is ready (again only the second call in 32 days) my wife receives a very rude call from the manager/owner of the shop asking why we haven't picked it up yet, and telling us we need to pick it up or it will "get wet out in the rain". Up until now we've been very understanding. We haven't complained about the ridiculously elongated timeline or complete lack of communication at all. I get it, things happen. But to cap all of that off with a rude phone call insinuating that we are dragging OUR feet picking the bike up is absolutely ridiculous. So we go pick up the bike. I confront the manager/owner guy about his super rude behavior and everything else. Instead of showing a bit of humility he insists he has called more than he did, says he wasn't rude, tells us not to come back, says there was never a commitment to get the bike finished on mythical Monday, etc etc. So Mr. Manager/owner guy if you're reading this and preparing a response with some rewrite of history just know that I'm willing to share the voicemail and call logs backing this all up. Two calls from you in 32 days. Many more from us to you. You have a great business, that's why we went with you. Maybe you were having a bad day/week/month, whatever. As a formal small business owner for a decade, I was prepared to fall on my sword even when I wasn't in the wrong. Whether you want to admit it or not, you absolutely were in this scenario and all you did is lose a loyal customer in the way to handled it. Danville and the surrounding area is not hurting for Bike shops.

Happy that they have been open through the pandemic and were socially distanced. Needed a chain, walked right in with my road bike. The nice young man (grandson) immediately identified my derailleur kit and the correct part. The parts cashier pulled the chain and chain break tool and I was on my way in all of about two minutes. Price was at or below amazon, without trying to figure it out myself online. I LIKE that these guys are LOCAL, knowledgeable, pleasant, and hire kids (at least for the summer). Support a great LBS!

Always a great experience here and an onus to support a local biz. Tire change is now $25

Wow, what a great selection of everything. I rented a Cannondale Quick (excellent bike) and the process couldn't have been smoother.

Great service and attitude even on their busiest days. Love the neighborly feeling every time we go to the shop.

Jose Gutierrez exceeded my expectations by promptly installing my new e-bike battery in about 10 minutes, which saved me a second trip.

After repeated attempts to rectify it, I decided that I would never go back there again. When my service on my bike was due again, I was really in a tough place. I decided to go to the next nearest Trek location to my work, only to find out that it was being managed by the same person. I reluctantly went anyway, only to find out that they were closed on Mondays. I looked for the next closest location and that was Alamo and everything changed for the better. I went in, told them the problem that I previously had. They suggested I reach out to Trek Warranty and that the two of them, the Trek corporate along with the Alamo store, would make things right. I was hopeful but not convinced. 48 hours later, full resolution of my issue, and my bike came back to me after the level two service, better than when I originally bought it. This is a fantastic store. I know that their clients are difficult to say the least but these guys meet the challenge and exceed expectations. I cannot recommend this store enough.
