    11-34t

First, I have owned 4 Trek bikes and purchased one from this store. My disappointment is with a tune of my road bike where the service person swapped my cassette from 11x34 to a 11x30 for no reason. I called the store and the store employee said this was impossible and I couldn't prove it and offered me a $20 coupon so I could buy a new 11-34 cassette, which is ridiculous. I am not going back to this store unless they put an equivalent 11-34 cassette back on my bike without any charges and they can have the other 11-30 cassette back.

Used to do repairs here yearly. Came in on Saturday so my son would have his bike. He waited to ride it once we got home. We did not put that slime in the tire. We avoid that mess by using a liner. They just shot in slime. Not trusting they did anything except that. Won't be going back.

Our beautiful matte black and blue Trek mountain bike that we took home. It happen to be in stock at the store, size L.

This Trek store was our first stop in search for a bike for my husband. We were planning to stop by a few in the area to see what options there are inside the store since I heard most bike stores and online are out of stock now due to SIP and quarantine. We thought it was still called "Livermore Cyclery" here but learned that Trek bought the store out. So there is no more Livermore Cyclery here in Dublin nor Livermore. We came here to look for a bike. The sales guy told us they had one in store inside size L mtn bike so we went in to take a look. He didn't ask about our budget. So he showed us a nice bike that was about $3000+ and it wasn't within our price range. While inside, I then noticed another mountain bike right besides the $3k one he showed us and I asked if it was available. It actually was, and was the right size we need and it was at a very affordable price for $399. We just wanted something basic. Of course the dude was trying to sell us the more $$$ bike...till I discovered other options inside on my own. We took the affordable bike out for a quick test run. Sales dude asked to get my hubby's drivers license before he could take the bike out...um, I guess he didn't trust us? We had the whole family there together, did he really think we gonna ride away that bike?! Either way, another sales guy ended up helping us out 'cos the first one had to go take his break. Well, I am glad because David was a very honest guy, telling us the big differences btw the 2 bikes. Educated us with the details. He was very knowledgeable with his products and gave us his honest opinion. He wasn't just trying to up sell us at all and showed us trust. Well, we ended up buying the bike. Good price, right size, and good customer service from David. So I recommend, if u see a bike in the store that seems to fit you, hurry up and buy it before its gone. Bikes seems to be selling like HOT tamales!? Bike shops are doing SO well these days due to COVID. The stores carried limited number of bikes that are available but they will randomly get shipments. Most bikes inside are road bikes and many are $3000+. And if u want to order, it would take months before u can even get ur bike, they said maybe in December 2020, if so. Overall, we love our new Trek bike. And what's important is that we got better customer service from David who was very friendly and casual, just like a friend, so we had a great experience. He wasn't pushy at all. We will be back here again to shop for more stuff. Highly recommend this place. Just look for an asian man named David. P.S. They had every customer use hand sanitizers at the entrance. Glad they are following safety rules.

These guys rock. I was looking for a hard to get Marlin and ended up calling on the right day as they just received few. David N. made it seamless and did not accept my payment over the phone to reserve it as they wanted to make sure they sized me correctly before I forked out the money. Drove up from SJ, paid and picked up a few days later! Love my bike!

Livermore had a more professional staff. Maybe once they lose more customers they will restructure. In the meantime, hello Cervelo.

I'm updating my previous review because Abraham Baiza went above and beyond to make things right…read more During my first two stringing experiences, I unfortunately ran into quality issues, including one racquet that was missing a string. It was definitely frustrating, but Abraham took my concerns seriously from the beginning. He personally reached out, apologized, offered to restring my racquet free of charge, and even provided a gift card for the inconvenience. What impressed me the most was that he didn't just fix my racquet--he worked to improve the process. When I picked it up today, I noticed they now attach a label showing the string type, tension, date, and stringer. That tells me they're focused on preventing mistakes in the future, not just fixing one complaint. Every business can make mistakes, but not every manager takes ownership the way Abraham did. His professionalism, communication, and commitment to improving the customer experience earned my trust back. Thank you, Abraham, and the Sports Basement team. I'll definitely be back for future stringing and would recommend them to other tennis players.

As well as better quality since it's like a private owned business and not a public one. The service overall was good at this place as the employees were helpful with guiding us to find stuff we were looking for. As well as helping my brother find a new bike for him to ride after his old one fell apart. When it comes to value that is where the problems set in as to why I am giving this place a 4/5. Lot of the stuff in this store is expensive and I do mean EXPENSIVE. It could be close to like 120 dollars for a pair of shoes which seems to be way more than most other retailers. And most of the other equipment could range up to 200-300 dollars as well which can make it frustrating to figure out what to spend your money on depending on the need. At least the store has plenty of equipment to choose from, as well as a range for you test stuff out and other useful features for equipment you want to rent. But I would only go here as a last resort if you can't go to a Dick's or find good pricing.

A special thanks to David and Will for taking such great care of my bike. They performed a complete tune-up, installed a pair of brand-new Panaracer GravelKing tires, and replaced my pedals. I dropped my bike off in the morning, and it was ready by the end of the day. It rode like new, and I couldn't have been happier with the quality of their work. I've always been a big fan of REI because they genuinely provide personalized service, especially for us cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts. This location is an excellent example of what makes REI so special. Over the years, I've purchased much of my hiking and camping gear here, including one of my favorite Trailmade sleeping bags, which has accompanied me on many adventures. I also appreciate REI's quality Co-op branded products, reasonable prices, and the fantastic sales they offer throughout the year. If you're looking for knowledgeable staff, outstanding bike service, and quality outdoor gear, I highly recommend this REI location. Cheers!

On my first ride after I picked the bike up, the brake lines were full of air, enough so that my front brake was not really functional. When I brought it back to the shop, I also mentioned that the chain was skipping off the cogs under load in the higher gears. They took care of the brake problem, but I literally had to go back three times before they warrantied the cassette, which fixed the problem. They just kept adjusting the derailleur. I don't think they test rode it because they would call me and tell me it was fixed. I finally had them go out the back of the shop with me and ride along with me to show them how it skipped. The other issue was the bike started shutting off (it's an E bike) when I would hit rough sections on the trail. I had to take it back multiple times before they finally warrantied the battery and mounts. Each time I took it in they would call me and tell me it was fixed. I would go to start a ride and within a very short period the bike would shut down again. I get that this is a problem with the bike manufacturer and not the service department, but a quick search on Reddit revealed that this was a known problem and a warranty issue. It shouldn't have taken multiple visits and so much time with the bike in the shop to get it corrected. Most recently, I took it in to have the brake lines bled, and when I picked it up, one of the mechanics told me that the back brake was making noise. The service manager said that couldn't be anything they did they just bleed the brakes. However, when I got home, it sounded like a bagpipe every time I hit the brakes and it certainly didn't do that before I took it in. I think the brake pads got contaminated with brake fluid. Also, the retaining clips that keep the pin holding the brake pads from falling off were missing from both brake calipers. I called and spoke to the service manager. He told me that the clips aren't really necessary as long as you keep things tight. I asked if they had them in the shop and if I could come get them and he said he wasn't sure what part I was talking about and he would have to look at them. At that point, I just ordered a new brake pads and clips on Amazon and I'm done with this shop.
