This is what a bike shop looks like in my mind. Trek met every expectation. As a first timer with a new found hobby, I wanted to make sure I got the right parts and service for my bike. I hadn't called ahead but for a simple tire and tune replacement it was an easy visit. It was a tad busy on a Saturday afternoon but everyone was taken care of promptly. As a walk-in I didn't expect same day service and was prepared to leave my bike for the day, but I got lucky. They offered free water bottle in the mini fridge while I waited for my bicycle to be serviced. The bathroom was clean. There's plenty of inventory of various bikes and accessories. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Parking lot is a good size. I'll be back! read more

He walked me through the Trek Checkpoint's features, took time to answer all my (many) questions, and made the buying process simple and pressure-free. What sealed the deal was that Mike worked with me on price and made sure the Checkpoint was the best fit for my riding style, needs, and budget - he personally helped to adjust the gears, added fresh sealant, and swap the saddle and pedals to my own personal set! I've also stopped by a few times after my purchase to pick up a few things every now and then and each visit I have, I'm met with so much kindness and support from all of the Trek Livermore staff! I was missing exactly one screw for my SPD pedals, and when I asked one of the busy mechanics, they dropped everything and found a replacement screw for free! I was super excited about purchasing my new Trek Marlin with a baby seat. But shortly after pickup, I ran into a couple of issues. First, the rear tire was rubbing against the baby seat hardware, and rubber debris actually landed on my baby's face. I brought it back, and the team adjusted the wheel and seat. Then while riding solo, out of nowhere, the pedal came loose and fell off mid-ride. I rushed back to the Trek store right before closing, and luckily, a Trek technician took my bike in right away. They replaced the faulty parts under warranty. Big shoutout to the Trek staff for standing behind their product and delivering great customer service. Didn't even know I was going to get a bike...Hubs wanted to check some out today is what he said. I tried two bikes and ended up getting the townie Electra cruiser bike in the end and hubs got Trek Marlin 5. If you need help, Kevin is definitely your guy! He was nice, patient and calm, while helping us out the entire hour and a half. Hub's bike had two prices, one clearly marking a cheaper value and one with a more expensive one. As Kevin was ringing us up, one of Kevin's colleague, who was helping, was disgruntled by the price and said the higher price is the correct one. Kevin kept firm and his colleague went to go find the manager, Mike. Who then honored us with the lower price and told them to go ahead with the transaction. During the traction another colleague came over and agreed with his colleague about the price, but told him about what Mike, the manager had told him. They both looked disgruntled and unhappy, but watched Kevin go through with the transaction. Clearly there was a mistake with two prices on the bike, and we as customers wanted the bike with its lesser value. I'm glad that Mike, the manager, honored the lower price that we had seen. As customers, we felt honored, valued and happy leaving Trek Bicycle in Livermore today! Kevin and Mike helped us out to the car to make sure things were ! Shout out to Sam for their amazing work on my Ibis Tranny 29er. It's been well over 100 degrees outside so riding is not ideal. Therefore, I thought it would be a great time to bring my bike into the shop to have the dropper seat cable shortened up. It had too much excess slack which makes it a risk to snap on something. Sam took about 4" inches off the cable and it looks sick now! They only charged me $33.00. That's a great value! Thanks Sam! read more

Our bike shop of choice in the TriValley - we've been loyal clients since the 2000s, when they were called Livermore Bicycle, and have purchased all our bikes here. We returned this weekend for some repairs and replacements that met our soon-to-be middle-schooler's bicycling needs: They installed: - a new bell (they removed the old "broken" one and replaced it with one that had a sound better suited to our tweens evolving tastes) - a new lock (after bolt cutting the old one that we could no longer unlock) - a new kickstand (which we had to go to their other location in Dublin for as they didn't have the right one in stock) - a bottle cage with strap adapter We also bought a small water bottle and a sea-foam green helmet that met her comfort and aesthetic wants and our requirements for safety. I have a cruiser e-bike that was in bad need of some TLC. I walked in for an inspection to get it fixed later on, and they ended up fixing my brake squealing that day for really reasonable price. I felt really welcomed in the shop even though I don't think I fit in the biker demographic, everyone was so nice and patient. I was quoted at least $50 + parts at a shop further downtown so when they asked to keep it to give me a quote I said why not. Service was good. Came to get tires replaced. Andretti handled me and I was very happy. Charges for replacing tires on the bike were totally reasonable and he got it done super fast. Only thing souring the experience was the realization that I paid $70 for a road tire. Car tires cost that much. I've always had great service with them on new bikes to tuning. They also resale the bikes that I bought from them before. I won't recommend or go elsewhere. When you go there be honest with your sales guy on what you want and what you can't afford. They are eager to fit your needs. Good selection. The Dublin location and Livermore location are both good in service. Livermore is bigger and has more choices for me. They packaged it up but didn't notify me of the measurements (so I could contact shipping company) until I called a couple days later to inquire. Turns out they forgot about it. Yikes. Much better than their Dublin store! I am new to biking and was looking to get a bike for exercise and explore the neighborhood. The times I was here, I was greeted by Zeus and Nemo? who are both friendly and patient. They answered all my questions and directed me to a good bike and other accessories. The bike I got was an 2019 Trek FX5 sport and Steve (owner) gave me a great deal since they were clearing out their 2019 inventory. After I got it, Steve did a custom fitting and gave lots of advice. I have in the past used this place to service my bike and they did a good job which is why I returned a year later to have them do a tune up on the same bike they had previously serviced. This time when I went though I did Not see the technicians that helped me before there were new people there and even though they knew they couldn't work on my bike they still took it in and held it 3 days and then I had to call them to check on it and at that time they told me that they couldn't service my bike. I was upset because 1 you could have just said that when I dropped it off, they had there tech look at the bike before checking me in to be sure they could service it and he said yes. Second why did you not reach out to me and let me know I had to call to find out that you were not going to service my bike. Third when I picked up my bike they were rude like oh it's over there get it out of here that's how I felt. I ended up taking my bike to a shop called Dublin Cyclerey. When I say that this place is by far a better bike shop I truly mean it. When I was at Dublin cycling when they checked me in they went over my bike with me from the front to the back tire with my concerns things that they saw that needed to be done this was not done at Trek Livermore they were like oh our technician will look at and he'll call you when he finds out what's wrong even though I had a problem that I wanted them to address specifically didn't matter like I said very rude, I wouldn't recommend anybody to go to trek Livermore however if you want quality service the guys over a Dublin Cyclery they do a great job they're very attentive they listened they didn't an outstanding job on my bike and I'll definitely be going back to there! From the very beginning, Chris and Jamie were so helpful, patient, and accommodating, especially with my schedule, and they answered all my many questions. They really went above and beyond and the bike is just gorgeous! I could not pick it up myself so when it was brought back, assembled, the seat and handlebar were set too high for me. Honest, helpful, knowledgeable people who work here. Came here this past weekend on a Sunday, around 11am. The shop was busy and bustling with people tuning up thier bikes in preparation for the nice weather and people shopping around for new bikes. Even though there were a lot of people, we were greeted by AJ in a matter of minutes and asked how we could be helped. I told AJ that I had a bike with a flat and asked him to take a look at it. He was so cheerful and came out to the car with us, unloaded the bike and took it inside and mounted it on one of their workstations, which was easily visible from behind the counter. He not only pumped up both of my bike tires but he also lubed up my bike chains and help me fix some gear issues so that switching gears would be easier. His colleague also showed us how to use our rocket tire pump that we had trouble with earlier. All of this amazing service was as a courtesy! AJ went above and beyond and I could tell that he loves his job and helping people. You cannot really put a price on excellent custimer servixe and great attitude. I will be sure to come back for a real bike tune up and trust them with all my biking needs. read more

I'd like to review this so any other customer can make decision before buying a new Trek e-bike. Trek model rail 7 2020 has a bit loud motor noise compared to Specialized Levo Turbo Comp carbon 2019. There are other review saying about the noise but sale rep insisted the opposite. I ended up buying the bike because I like the look of the bike. The noise is indeed true as I test rode the two bikes models mentioned above today. To interested buyers of Trek, if the noise does not bother you then go for it. read more

I have bought many bikes from Livermore Cycles over the years. I get that there is a pandemic, but i needed a bike tube 2 months ago and they made me wait outside for 10 minutes and i left. Today, my wife needed some bike shorts and i needed some gloves. Same thing. They make you wait outside with zero indication of how you can get inside. There was one family shopping for a small girls bike inside and another guy browsing. The place is huge. There is no way there was more than 8 humans in there total. The guy just said please wait here. We were the first and only people in line. No explanation. Another family showed up to buy a bike and we told them we were leaving anyway, but they just left after seeing the roadblock to the front door. Amazon for anything but bikes. What a shame! after 20 plus years of dealing with Livermore Cyclery Trek has took the small town customer service away from this new location. They wont work on anything but Trek or if you buy a bike from them. They use the smoke and mirror approach of saying "liability" which is BS. They want bike sales. Stock is also poor. Ive probably purchased 5 bikes since moving here and a few from other vendors and they worked on them all. Its a bike. Well the good news is Mikes bikes in Pleasanton still takes walk in's. I love Livermore Cyclery! Most of the bikes I had as a kid were purchased from this place. My hubby and I were looking for a helmet for our baby so he can ride in a baby carrier bike seat. We perused the racks at REI because we were there looking for a camping table. Their prices were high so we decided to go elsewhere. We were going to look at Target but then I thought, "Hey, why not support a local company?" So off to Livermore Cyclery we went. The customer service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. For starters, during the pandemic, bikes and parts are very hard to come by. A decent amount of bike shops aren't taking new service customers due to the shortage of parts. Trek Livermore is not one of them. I had a rear flat in my no name brand mountain bike (did not purchase from the store), and admit, I just don't like to change tires. I called and there was no problem. The shop is observing social distancing and I never had to even walk into the building. I simply waited in my car (from start to finish it was 15 minutes) They handled everything, including taking my payment from my car over the phone once they were completed. After completed, Sam even brought out my bike and offered to load it into my van. Not just a great bike shop, but a great business. Looking forward to getting a bike from them once available. read more

Every time I've gone in there, I have always received a warm greeting even when it's super busy (which is most of the time)! We just purchased our 7th bike from Livermore Cyclery on Saturday. My husband and I bought Trek comfort bikes when the shop was still at it's original 1st street location almost a dozen years ago when we first moved to Livermore. We also purchased a Kettler kid's bike, kid bike seat (to attach to ours), our daughter's first bike, then her "big kid" bike, one year when I was lucky enough to get a sweet bonus - I bought my husband his Specialized Roubaix and Saturday we purchased a Specialized Vita for me. My husband has been trying to get me into cycling for years. I had tried the Vita a few months back and loved it. Apparently hubby stopped by there Saturday morning to inquire if they had a small frame Vita in stock. They did, but it was not built. Later that afternoon, my husband said we should swing by and look at the bike. They had built out the bike in a few hours and when we arrived, M got the bike, made some adjustments for me (lowered the seat because I'm a Lilliputian) and had me test ride in the parking lot. M was really knowledgeable and encouraged me to come back in a month for a free tuneup/check. Now I find myself staring out of the window wishing I could ride instead of work. :) My Specialized Vita is FANTASTIC! On a personal note I really appreciate Livermore Cyclery because they've always supported local schools and local initiatives. When I was a room parent in charge of putting an auction basket together they came through with great goodies. Not only that, but my daughter is part of a local city youth organization and recently talked to the owner about the possibility of donating a prize toward an educationally-centered citywide contest. They were amenable to that as well. I love that Livermore Cyclery fosters our community. Livermore Cyclery is the only bike shop I will give my business. read more

Purchased a new Trek Fuek EX 5 couple weeks ago and realized after a couple days and prior to my first ride that the back tire was not the expected 29" 2.60 but rather a 27.5" 2.60 while the front tire was the correct size. I brought the bike down to Trek Livermore and they kept my bike to back order the correct tire. The store Manage, Justin Simon kept me frequently updated on their schedul as well as surprised me that they would if I approved upgrade to tubeless tires - I approved and was so stoked! Picked up my bike yesterday and it looks awesome - can't wait to ride it! throughout this ordeal, Justin and his Team were highly professional and reliable. Been meaning to write this for a while and I just had another great experience a few days ago. I'm not the average customer as I don't buy complete bikes and spendy components (new). So I'm usually after small parts like cables or bottom brackets. Sometimes odd tools. These guys are always super nice and helpful regardless of how much money I'm spending in the store. The younger staff are sometimes a little lacking in knowledge but they're learning and working! There's always someone there to help them find what I need.
