Shout out to Sam for their amazing work on my Ibis Tranny 29er. It's been well over 100 degrees outside so riding is not ideal. Therefore, I thought it would be a great time to bring my bike into the shop to have the dropper seat cable shortened up. It had too much excess slack which makes it a risk to snap on something. Sam took about 4" inches off the cable and it looks sick now! They only charged me $33.00. That's a great value! Thanks Sam!

We've had many great experiences with Trek Livermore! Most recently we purchased a bike for our daughter's birthday and when we picked it up they had a beautiful bow attached to it for her. Such a thoughtful touch. I get the sense they truly care about their customers. It's also such a clean/nice shop. I highly recommend them!

Our bike shop of choice in the TriValley - we've been loyal clients since the 2000s, when they were called Livermore Bicycle, and have purchased all our bikes here. We returned this weekend for some repairs and replacements that met our soon-to-be middle-schooler's bicycling needs: They installed: - a new bell (they removed the old "broken" one and replaced it with one that had a sound better suited to our tweens evolving tastes) - a new lock (after bolt cutting the old one that we could no longer unlock) - a new kickstand (which we had to go to their other location in Dublin for as they didn't have the right one in stock) - a bottle cage with strap adapter We also bought a small water bottle and a sea-foam green helmet that met her comfort and aesthetic wants and our requirements for safety. Thank you, Chris and team at Trek Livermore, for helping our family enjoy a few more years of safe biking.

I took 3 trek bikes over to be serviced and we are extremely happy with the staff at this store. They waited for us to be done shopping and super knowledgeable about everything to the bike. I purchased a few new accessories for my bike. They installed them all for free. I love this store and will be back.

My partner and I were looking for a new road…read morebike and decided to check out AJ's Family Cyclery, even though it's a smaller, newer shop compared to larger corporate stores like Trek or Mike's Bikes. Being right across the street from our neighborhood, we figured it was worth a visit--and we're so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, AJ welcomed us with enthusiasm and genuine positivity. His customer service has been exceptional throughout our entire bike-buying journey. He took the time to understand what we were looking for, let us test ride a road bike, and patiently answered all our questions. Then, he casually suggested we try out one of his electric mountain bikes, given the great trails in the area. We took him up on that offer--and wow, are we glad we did! That test ride completely changed our minds, and we quickly realized an e-mountain bike was the perfect fit for us. AJ is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and transparent. He spent hours helping us explore different options without ever making us feel pressured to buy. Unlike most bike shops that limit test rides to their parking lot, he let us fully experience both road and electric mountain bikes, which made all the difference in our decision. On top of that, he has been super responsive--even outside of business hours--via text, email, and social media. Thanks to AJ, we found the perfect bike that not only fit our needs but also came in well under budget without sacrificing quality. His passion for what he does shines through in every interaction, and his commitment to customer satisfaction is truly unmatched. Working with him has been an absolute breath of fresh air--you just don't find this level of service anywhere else. If you're considering buying a bike, do yourself a favor and visit AJ's Family Cyclery. Not only will you get expert guidance and outstanding service, but you'll also feel great about supporting a genuinely good person and his small business. He absolutely deserves all the success coming his way!

May 10, 2026…read more I wanted to let you know that I was interested in buying a new bike and establishing a relationship with a local bike shop here in Pleasanton. I went to your shop in January and had a very lengthy and friendly conversation with one of your mechanics. I explained to him that I had just had a very extensive bike fit and was hoping to buy a bike according to the information in the very detailed fit which took my body geometry into account. He said it should not be a problem and while I was there, I emailed him the report with all the specifications. He said he looked at it and thought the Specialized Roubaix would be a good fit, but it was not currently available in the color I wanted. He said I would be notified as soon as it was available. I didn't hear anything so decided to stop by the shop in March and was told it still wasn't available. I stopped by again (I was never called) on April 16 and was told it was available, and it could be ordered that day. I again reminded him about all the measurements, and he said no problem. I paid in full that day. I also re-sent the measurements. I was notified April 22 that it was ready and made an appt.to pick it up April 23. When I arrived, I found out that it wasn't ready (battery was defective on the shifter) and I would be notified again when the new battery arrived. On April 28 got another text notification that the bike was now ready. I went to pick it up April 29 (after reminding the mechanic that the tires were supposed to be tubeless) and when I got there, the tires were not set up as tubeless. I tried to get on the bike, but it was very uncomfortable and not at all adjusted to the measurements I had provided more than once. Also, I had asked for SPD pedals in purple but was told that they didn't exist. (The pedals on the bike did not work with my shoes). When I asked if the specific measurements were considered, I was informed first by the original mechanic and then by a second one, that they are not bike fitters and essentially, they are just mechanics and couldn't really help me. When I had made the appt to pick up the bike, I was told someone named Dean would be putting the bike together as he has an expertise in fitting. When I asked if this had happened, they both looked at me as if I was asking for a special favor. They said no, Dean (or whatever his name is) did it not put it together as they had not made that arrangement. The situation was starting to take on an adversarial vibe and it became clear to me that the previous discussions I had about the measurements were completely ignored. They both then accused me of asking for something that didn't exists and that no bike store would be able to provide what I wanted. They offered to let me return the bike, but I would have to pay for the labor it took to assemble. I left feeling very frustrated but still wanted to try and make it work. On the way home I stopped at Mike's Bikes, and they had the exact pedals wanted. I bought them there thinking I would go back to Superfly and drop them off so they could be installed. But the more I thought about it; I realized that I did not want to have this adversarial relationship and called the shop to take them up on the offer of returning the bike. It cost my over $350 but I realized it was worth it. I should have seen the red flags, the first being there were hardly any road bikes in your shop. I wish that when I first went in, the mechanic had been honest with me and said that they are basically a mountain and electric bike shop and could not provide the skill needed to set me up with a bike that would be comfortable for me. I am sure both of these men are good mechanics, but their customer service and honesty is lacking. I feel like dodged a bullet (albeit an expensive one) but it was worth it to me to not have to deal with unpleasant and dishonest people. I would be happy to discuss this in person if you feel that it would be helpful. Lisa Halperin

While the shop appears to excel in its core rental business--reflected in consistently positive customer reviews and a strong reputation for providing a smooth, enjoyable rental experience--the same level of performance does not seem to carry over to its sales and customer communication practices. In particular, the sales process felt less organized and attentive than expected. Communication around product availability, follow-up, and overall customer engagement could be improved to better match the high standard set by the rental side of the business. Clearer, more proactive communication and a more structured approach to sales would likely enhance customer confidence and satisfaction. Given the success of the rental operation, there is a strong foundation to build upon. I would suggest that by aligning the sales activity that has been primarily driven by the 2025/26 AVA rebate program to closely match what has been demonstrated in rentals would significantly strengthen the overall customer experience. In addition it appears based on investigation additional costs to consumers ( shipping and to some users higher assembly costs) were added when submitting a sales request via the AVA program. Based on these experiences I would not recommend using Pedego for the reminder of the 2026 AVA program.. I hope this constructive feedback is helpful and contributes to continued improvement.

However, service at the front counter was a bit slow. I observed the sole employee at the register as she prompted excessive conversation with individuals without regard for other customers waiting in line. This included reciting words to convince customers to join the REI membership for rewards... nope, not when you just added extra unnecessary wait time to my visit while I stood in the purchase line. Today's experience reminded me that I just have to deal with the drive to the Berkeley store or find another that is properly staffed with helpful employees. Two stars because it's a reasonably well-stocked store, I never have trouble parking, and the location is convenient even if the customer service is not.
