I brought my Mt bike in for new shifters just before Covid 19 struck. They called to say the shifters came in but were not the correct ones. They ordered the correct ones and said their would be no install charge because it took so long, just parts. I finally picked it up and they told be there was a small air leak in the front tire. They could replace the tube in 10 minutes and no labor charge. When they brought the bike out to me they told me the front tire was cracked so they gave me a new tire, no charge. What can I say, these guys go above and beyond what is expected. They are not only honest but really have the customers well being in the forefront. I will always take my business to them. This place sucks. Went there for brake pads. They were all out. Couldn't tell me when they would be in stock. Managed to make a snide remark about my bike being cheap and they had brake pads in stock for more expensive bikes. Said I should just buy on Amazon. Went to return a basket and buy a new one because it broke off when I was riding my bike because they didn't install it correctly. When I got there they didn't want to give me a refund even though they have a return policy that clearly states that I'm entitled to my refund under 30 days. They were rude and unprofessional they need to be trained how to treat a customer I used to buy my bikes and go there for bike repairs but not anymore. (They could've made more money because I was going to buy a more expensive basket then I had before there but I took my refund and Left because they were unprofessional) read more

i just moved to the desert from the NW and this bike shop was highly recommended so i took in my "ancient Trek Y22 carbon fiber" mountain bike for some minor work. EVERYONE in the store was upbeat, helpful and professional and i have NEVER seen a bike shop that spotlessly clean! Tim, in service, greeted me and he went through the bike with me. i bought new tires, tubes, seat, a tune-up, etc. He was never pushy but "more than helpful".................... and the bike was ready on the day he promised and at the estimated price. I road it 15 miles today for the first time.................. it was quiet, clean and perfectly tuned. IMPRESSIVE! I will be back and will heartily recommend you to everyone. Visited 4 different bike stores in the high and low deserts... Palm Desert Cyclery was the best by far. Scott helped me choose a bike that was within what I wanted. He didn't try and up-sell me or get impatience with things. The place was busy and Scott had to help other customers throughout our transaction. But I was there for 2 and a half hours... and never once did Scott get frustrated. He explained the answers to all my questions in details. I told Scott at the end, thanks for helping me make my decision. I only dealt with Scott, and cannot speak for any of the other staff on hand. Brad and the others were so helpful. They could have tried to sell me a new Thule bike rack, but instead, were honest and suggested we try lubing where the handle mechanism was getting stuck. I needed new shoes and clips and Brad helped me with that and went out of his way to make sure my bike had the proper air in the tires and chain was oiled. I hadn't been on my bike in 5 years due to a knee injury. They all were just caring. I took my bike back to Mike who measured everything to a perfect fit for me. Great sales experience. I needed help, knowing nothing but wanting a bike, and it was really nice to have friendly, but not pushy, help from your team. I liked being able to test ride the bike. I took my mountain bike to them after some slimeball tried to steal the front fork right off my RV. He got the stem and a few other parts. The mechanic and staff here were terrific and got me rolling again fast and very reasonably. In hanging around some I saw how they took great care of other customers too. I am a relatively new cyclist, in my retirement years. I love the professionalism and capability of the staff at Palm Desert Cyclery. I bought my Trek bike there a few months ago, and today I took it in for service when I encountered a brake problem I was unable to fix. Joe greeted me, quickly diagnosed the problem, and repaired my brake showing me how to do it for myself. He also adjusted the front brake to ensure my safety. When I asked what I owed him, he shook my hand and said "Just a smile." That's what I call service. I also recall that on the day before Christmas when I was waiting to pick up my bike, there was a man buying his son's Christmas present- a cool neon colored bike. The care and attention he was given by the sales staff, and their total participation in his enthusiasm, was evident (and I'm sure memorable) to all in the store. Thanks to my friends at PDC. Looked these guys up on YELP as I am a full time RVer. Brought my Santa Cruz Heckler in for a derailleur issue. Was greeted by London immediately and later spook with Kevin. Bike went to the tech, was gonna leave but they said hang on so they could get right on it. Bike was done in less than 5 minutes!! Quick adjustment, yet I thought it was bent! Works like a charm!!!! Didn't get the techs name. NO CHARGE!!!!!!! Bought some chain lube and was out. Even being a full time RVer most of my bike stuff is bought in the IE. I will definitely entertain buying a bike from this shop when it comes to it. Class act from this shop!! read more

This place is awesome! This is exactly what a bike shop should be: a warm and caring place where they really do care about getting you taken care of. And this all comes down to the owner Chris--who really takes pride in hIs shop and going out of the way to help,each customer. My story: went in and bought a Specialized Allez--as I wanted the entry level road bike. Did not want to spend $1000 or more. There was no pressure to buy bigger--or to pressure me. I then rode that for about 2 months...and I realized I loved cycling! And that maybe I should have got a carbon bike. Spoke to Chris and he bought my bike back--and I got into the Specialized Roubaix. And I love this bike!!! And: the other staff here are awesome--and especially the service department. They give a year of free tune up adjustments--and really want to make sure the bike is adjusted for the initial break in period. If buying a bike in the desert... This is the place! I owe these guys A LOT!!!! I was about to turn left on Washington to ride into the desert when my rear gear cable snapped. In a freakish bit of good luck, this happened right across the street from Palm Desert Cyclery. I went in and asked (more like begged) if they could fix the problem, like, NOW, and they did! The tech put my bike up and replaced the cable in less than ten minutes. I had not brought any money with me (my license, yes, and my hotel key, but not cash or a credit card), but, adding generosity to generosity, they let me pay later that day. Which of course I did. Any store that helps someone in need as they did is worth patronizing. Strongly recommended. These folks know what they are dong, and they are very nice. An unbeatable combination. read more

This was really one for the books! My partner and I went in around 3:30 PM. She was interested in purchasing an electric bike, and I was interested in purchasing an electric trike due to my balance problems. We are African American, age 64 and 70. When we entered two salesmen were working with other customers. One of the salesmen told us he would be with us as soon as he finished with his current customer. The other salesman finished with his customer, looked at us, and walked into a back room. Shortly thereafter a young man with dark hair came from the back room and asked if he could help us. We were SHOCKED, this young man was OBVIOUSLY AND OVERTLY drunk or high on something. He was slurring his words, weaving all over the place. We looked at each other and my partner said, "he is drunk". The young man ignored her comment, so we thought to ask him some questions until the first or second salesmen were free. He was unable to answer any questions, not even one as simple as if a particular bike had a 48v battery. So, we just asked him if he anticipated getting any EV trikes in. The drunk guy turned to the second salesman that had at that point returned from the back room and asked about the trikes. Without looking at us the second salesman said "They can go to another bike store." He said it so rudely we just left. What the heck? He HAD to know the young man was severely impaired. Was the drunk young man the owner's son or something? Why did the second salesman ignore us then respond so rudely? Wow! we would like to report this experience to someone, but do not know who to report it to. I cannot believe all these positive reviews are real. I hope someone else that experienced this will also post so maybe the owner will address this with his/her employees. Needless to say, we will not be going back. read more

The good part of this review would be that the bike shop on Country club has fantastic service and great staff and always willing to help when in a pinch. We purchased two high end road bikes there two years ago and have always had top service.......on the other hand today we were on a ride, half way to home when we stopped into the Palm Springs location to see if they could do a minor adjustment to the rear derailier and to buy some tubes. The staff person could not accommodate a 5 minute repair! That is the worst l have seen in a bike shop ever!.....so I guess you need to know before you go in and to book ahead rather than even bother asking. The guy even asked if I could come back later? After he knew we were in the middle of a ride, that's crap service right there. I guess spending $8,000 + isn't enough for some decent service? read more

Staff was very helpful, three of our bikes had blowouts during a festival weekend, we pulled up and someone came out to help us unload the bikes, they fixed three bikes in about 20 minutes. After visiting two other bike shops in the Palm Desert area, it was our good fortune to find Palm Desert Cyclery. Inventory stood out; customer service from how we were greeted to questions about what we were looking for in a bike, were all highly professional. The best part of this...all of these questions were being asked by a 14 year old young man by the name of Seth who has a fascinating story as to how he came to work for this company. I would not be surprised if we hear about Seth in future endeavors when he graduates from school. Kudos to the owners and sales people who are mentoring this young man and permit him to shine. I came out to Palm Desert for the Palm Desert Century. It was the day before the century ride when a friend of mine joined us from Denver Colorado. We started a shake down ride on Friday and my friend could not get his new shoes and cleats to snap into his pedals. We stopped by Palm Desert Cyclery to see if the problem could be fixed. Brett waited on us and immediately found the problem. Brett repaired the problem and had to add shims to the bottom of the new shoes to have them work properly. We did our shake down ride and all is good now. Thanks Palm Desert Cyclery and Brett for the immediate help. Since the problem was not my problem I was able to stand back and observe other employees work with other customers. I can say that they were busy and everyone I observed being assisted by employees were satisfied. I would highly recommend Palm Desert Cyclery to anyone in the area looking for a good bike shop.
