This place was the best for tacos, not anymore. Idk what happened, maybe different owner or new workers. Now they're just regular tacos just like anywhere else, also not the best to dine in. Won't be going back.

Came here for tacos on a Friday for dinner. There was a line to order. Got tacos de costillas, carnitas, and chorizo. $2.98 each. We ordered 9 tacos but got charged for 12, so just pay attention at check out. Costillas were the best, good flavor and not dry. There are a few tables but ambiance is mostly takeout. Parking on street. Open 24 hours.

I don't think this place deserves zero stars but I also definitely don't think it's a five star place neither. Stale ass chicharrones and carnitas...they outta be ashamed of themselves. The ironic thing is the food looks very picturesque!!!

Tres Agaves taqueria! Haven't tried the Paleteria yet (paleteria is right next door). Don't let the looks of this place fool you! This is a great spot to pick up street tacos, burritos, quesadillas and even nachos etc. The meat is fresh and chopped right in front of you. They are very generous with their portions. The salsa is also very good. The lunch line flows pretty quickly and the employees are fast and friendly. Prices also are reasonable.

Torta Cubana with al pastor

TL:DR - The Torta Cubana is very good and LOADED with meat. - The al pastor is very tender and rich in flavor - The horchata is very well made ------------------------------------- Midday while I was driving along I5 from San Jose to LA, I drove 15 miles off an exit to this gem. I was very turned off when my GPS told me that this place is 15 miles from the freeway, but I do not regret a single bit making the decision to drive here. This place definitely has one of the BEST tortas that I have ever eaten. I got the Torta Cubana with al pastor and it was LOADED with meat and a fair amount of avocado. The meat was very flavorful and all the elements within the sandwich just added another layer of flavor. For me, they used a really cheap hot dog which I didn't really care for, but the Al Pastor still held it's flavor against the hot dog. My only complaint would be that since the bread is very soft and the elements are juicy, I wish the outside of the bread was toasted/grilled to add a slight crunch when I bite into the sandwich. This place also has a really well made Horchata. In this day and age, every Mexican restaurant is switching to Horchata flavored horchata, but I believe their horchata is still made traditionally. I would love to come back to this place if I do pass this area again!

Honestly it was a very good hole in the wall of Coalinga. A family we know just moved here and had asked to try it which wasn't bad at all. The wait for the food up front wasn't too long and the employees worked hard to get our orders together while prepping it. So far everyone had enjoyed it and would recommend it again! The tacos were great! I'm not a huge Mexican food fan but this one was a good pick in town.

Carne asada burrito supreme

This place has yet to disappoint. It's a small little 24 hr gem! Out here everything closes at like 9pm so if you have a late night craving, other than this place you really are out of luck. Anyway, they have every choice of meat you can think of. They have good beans & rice and no matter what you order it's gonna be good. They have their moments where they run out of stuff or you might not get the freshest ingredients but overall we've never been disappointed. The juice place attached to it is really good too! So I ordered a Med carne asada burrito supreme and a strawberry/pina colada raspados. Everything was delicious! And the service is always great! Btw, they don't use gloves all the time lol

Great roadside find! Chef chops up the meat behind the counter and the chopping sound alone makes me hungry already. Good selection of flavorful meats with desserts on the other half of the house.

These tacos are AWESOME!!!! I got 1 asada, 1 lengua, and 1 tripas. They were so good.

When I think of Harris Ranch, I think steaks. That's it. Never would I have thought their bakery…read morepumps out some delicious pastries and desserts. The bakery is part of the country store, which sells such random housewares and souvenir-type stuff. They have a chocolate truffle case on one side and the other side, the pastries and desserts. The pastries looked delicious and I got a few to try. They also have bags of day-old cookies for a good price. Eclair 4/5* I'm not a huge fan of eclairs with the soft fudge on top instead of the hardened chocolate. Taste wise though, it was a good eclair. The cream isn't overly sweet and the eclair itself was a light dough. Napoleon 5/5* If there's something Harris bakery does right, it's flaky pastries. Surprisingly, this Napoleon stayed crispy the entire drive home and survive even in the refrigerator the next day. Many others I've had usually get soggy, but these layers of puff pastry stayed crisp to the end of every last bite. The cream was fluffy and not too sweet, and paired perfectly with the ripe strawberries. Banana Cream Pie 3/5* I love anything banana and just had to get it when my eyes landed on the perfect swirl of whip cream covered in chunks of buttery crumbles, atop a neat little mini pie. However, the pie itself was too mushy. The crust was soggy, with the smoothness of the banana cream, soft banana slices, and rich whip cream, everything combined was too much mush. It was also too sweet. I did enjoy the crumble on top though. That was the only saving texture. Strawberry Cream Horn 5/5* Wow these were so unexpectedly delicious! The horn is super flaky and delicate, filled from end to end with a light strawberry cream. On top, bits of dehydrated strawberries were not only beautiful but added a nice tartness and texture, contrasting with the silky cream. This was a great upgrade on your classic cream horn. Chocolate Chip Cookies with Walnuts 3/5* Nothing special. They tasted better the longer they sat out because they were crisper. I prefer my cookies to have sea salt for that good balance of salty and sweet, but these cookies were just one noted. Next time, I have my eyes set on this towering cake they had on the counter and of course, take home some of those yummy cream horns.

It feels like our home away from home as we go back and forth from Northern California and to visit our family in Orange County. We always LOVED seeing the store and its unique gifts that filled the entire place. For some time, there looks to be maybe a quarter of what they used to have. So sad... I used to come and find a lot of my Christmas gifts for people during the holidays. This past Christmas, I went in and the place looked desolate. I was confused and wondered if I missed it all? I don't know if Harris Ranch is not doing well, but it really looks like they're struggling if you look at the empty feel of the store. We just left the shop now on our way back down to Southern California and once again shocked and highly disappointment. It was bad.. I really hope that whatever happening there gets better so that the store can return to the gorgeous shop that it once was.

We stopped at the McDonald's in Coalinga, CA and ordered through the app. I'll give credit where…read moreit's due -- the app was easy to use and made ordering simple. That part worked smoothly. Our food actually came out pretty decent. It was hot, tasted fresh, and was put together better than I expected considering how busy it was. The kitchen seemed to be holding it together. But the front of the store? That was rough. The dining area looked like it had been hit by a hurricane. Tables weren't cleaned, trash was building up, and the straw/soda station was sticky and messy. There were a lot of people standing around trying to order. The manager was loudly telling customers they wouldn't be served for a while and should just use the kiosks. That didn't exactly calm the crowd. There was confusion, frustration, and a pretty tense atmosphere overall. Bottom line -- good food and an easy app experience, but the front-of-house operations and cleanliness need serious attention. With better organization and some basic cleaning, this place could be a lot better.

The first time, it was midday and busy. We waited over 30 minutes for our order. Eventually, I went in and asked for a refund because 30 minutes is too long to wait for a drive-thru order from a "fast food" establishment. Today, there was literally no one in the drive-thru line, so we figured it would be okay since it's the only place to stop. Also, I hopped out of the car to run inside to use the restroom and there was hardly anyone inside either. Well, we were wrong. Same story. Went through the drive-thru and were told to wait at spot number 1 for our order. After 10 minutes, and after 2 other cars parked next to us got their orders and left, we figured we should go ask for an update on our order. They claimed they had already given us our order already, which was curious since we didn't have it. They gave our order to another car parked in a different numbered spot. They didn't apologize at any point for the mistake. We asked for a refund and left. It's really unfortunate because McDonald's breakfast might be the only fast food indulgence I'll allow myself while on a roadtrip.Their fresh hot hashbrown are my favorite but after experiences like this, it's highly unlikely I'll return.

So I guess they don't operate like normal restaurant hours, better to assume that they are busy all the time. When I called, they asked how soon I'll be here as they have a line. I told them I'm 20 minutes away and when I arrived food was ready. Upon arrival, I just needed to go to the cashier line and pay. So that was nice. The call quality could vary, so I'd advice to keep your order simple and familiarize yourself with their menu. They were in their own building, right next to the Shell gas station. You can eat outside as there's no seating inside. There's a big TV outside. It can be super hot and stuffy eating outside in summer, despite the fact that they have fans and cold mists. We were roasted in there sweating and watching FIFA game while eating. The restroom has AC and is clean and comfortable. We ordered half a pound of brisket main and a pulled pork sandwich. I asked to put all the sauces aside. The Pulled Pork Sandwich looks like a burger as it comes with burger bread but it's loaded with a thick layer of pulled pork in the middle. That's it though, no veggie, no other things, just bread and pulled pork. The pulled pork is already soaked in BBQ sauce, so there's nothing more needed to add to it. It tasted slightly spicy from the BBQ sauce, meat is super soft. The brisket was shockingly little, I couldn't believe one slice is half a pound and that's over 18 bucks! A pound is $30. The meat is super soft, one touch and the fibers fall apart. I wish they put more salt on when they BBQ, coz then naturally it'll be flavorful enough and don't need the BBQ sauce. The texture is fatty and softy enough. The mac and cheese is not bad, the cheese sauce is slightly over as the mac were like swimming in them. Overall a nice and quick stop to get some descent quality food. A nice alternative to gas station hot deli.

If you're hungry, this place serves better food compared to the fast foods down the street. Food: 4oz Brisket (4.3/10): This one was a little bit better than the sandwich we got. We saw that they put out a new brisket on the cutting block and we were tempted by it. It was super tender but still lacked flavor. We asked for the side of barbecue sauce and it helped with the flavor a little. It lacked a smoky flavor. Santa Maria Tri-Tip Sandwich (5/10): Ordering was pretty easy. There's a menu displayed on the top and they slice the meats right in front of you! Unfortunately, this sandwich fell a little short for me. The bread was drenched in barbecue sauce and there wasn't much flavor in the tri-tip itself.
