If you read my reviews about my experiences with other organizations, you would see just how poor some of them have been. My experience with IFS is at the level at which I am just not willing to recount those memories by describing them here; they were just so psychologically disturbing. I might come around and write a full, detailed review, as I'm aware the sort of thing might actually be very therapeutic. As for now, I really hope you never have to deal with Marsha Hornsey or--especially--Calvin Click. It's not just about incompetence: It's about total disregard for ethical practice. Update #1: Read the response from Tiffany K., below. See what I mean about incompetence? I didn't say anything about promissory notes, security agreements, or the Truth in Lending Act. Update #2: If Tiffany K., apparently the owner of IFS, wants to say in their addendum response (2nd paragraph) that all of the phone calls were reviewed and no problems were found, there might be a problem with taking personal responsibility, reacting objectively to constructive feedback, and subsequently modeling and fostering poor behavior amongst their employees. Tiffany K. decided to disclose a customer's details, when the most appropriate response would have been to send a private message or encourage the customer to call. read more

Tresl are bottom feeding scum. They had me take photos of my drivers license, months of bank statements, and other things to say they can get my auto loan refinanced. After several hard hits to my credit report they suddenly said no. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. read more

Credit karma suggested this company as a refinance option. After researching and deciding which company to go through, my husband and I chose this one and ATTEMPTED to do the online loan application. What a HUGE waste of our time! My husband has worked at the same company for over 25 years and I guess that caused the application to not prompt for his "Previous Employer", however, we couldn't submit the application because we kept getting an error message to "please enter years and months at secondary applicants previous employer. AVIS Budget Group and Tresl are a mess. More so Tresel. Deceptive, arrogant, not customer oriented at all. Charged more for Illinois sales tax than they should have. Insisted I have Texas tags which is NOT the case. Customer service agents.....well I went through four because the first one quit, mid-stream. You will go to the extra expense of securing another key fob, because AVIS doesn't keep fobs together and Chandra Clarke of Avis will mail it to you several weeks later?? Tresl will put the burden on YOU to cover your you know what. Questions go unanswered. Truly a frustrating experience. I wish I had gone through HERTZ again. Worst company to work with It is one of the worst car buying experiences. The initial process of reserving the car was good. Susan Deeringer - Customer Service Representative was excellent in coordinating the initial activities. Next, I was asked to contact Darin - which started the sequence of bad experiences. Was not able to connect with him on email, phone, message. He would not reply for days. Couple of times I had to request Susan to help me connect with Darin. And when I wanted to return the car - I was charged ~$800 due to delay as one of the representative was not available to answer my questions. I was ok to pay for the rental fees; however not ok with the increase in rental fees due to delay from Tresl. Worst experience working with Tresl. read more

I was looking to buy a car when someone recommended looking into buying a car with a rental company. I found Avis did just that and later to know that Tresl was their third party who helps facilitate the loan and purchasing process. I want to say that staff at Tresl seems helpful. Although once I decide to go forth with purchase and pay etc, I didn't get much questions answered afterward. The registration process took close to 3 months (my tags had expired). I also inquired about understanding my manufacture warranty but got two different answers from purchase to post purchase. I now, know nothing about what is under manufacture warranty. Alsom 2 weeks after purchase found that the front wheels needed replacement. Therefore would recommend the following when you purchase from them or that they change their policy: - provide the basics: owner's manual, any original items that would come with a car. - all service records - manufacture warranty info - if there are delays in obtaining paperwork from original owners, to send updates - post followup purchase inquiry (ensure you are happy etc.) So overall, they are legit, but its a longer process and since they are in TX whatever automotive sales laws apply there may not apply in your home state. Not a good company to work with. The messed up the paperwork numerous times so the process ended up taking weeks. The program was supposed to give me 90 days no payments upon the refinance but when the paperwork was done, the staff decided to not know what I was talking about. They never filed the title paperwork correctly so almost a year later I'm still redoing paperwork for the title and even though I corrected them, they put the mileage on my paperwork 30k miles over so now no one will take the truck on Trade because they think the odometer has been tampered with. read more

Terrible experience. Very deceitful. The pictures in the car ad are not what the vehicle looks like from Avis. I traveled over 2 hours to find bumper damage, rims torn up, and alignment off. There were scratches and minor dents too. But Avis does not negotiate on price due to cosmetic. Waste of my time and life. Don't buy from them unless you get to see the real photos of the vehicle. They play games and when people don't buy the vehicle and then it automatically lowers the price in the ad until it gets to a price point people are willing to pay. These people are evil read more

Bait & Switch... I was recommended by Credit Karma. I went through the pre-approval process on the IFS site which included a soft credit pull. I selected the offer I wanted. After continuing with the process, I ended up with several hard credit pulls and they came back with nearly double the interest rate and in order to get this amazing deal, I would need to put $3,000 down. read more

I needed my SUV refinanced. I'd been putting it off for a few months. I wanted to use a local credit union. But it never worked out. So, I noticed on Credit Karma, they gave 3 recommendations. I narrowed it down to two options. I was skeptical of IFS because of a few reviews about it dropping my score. But I know I needed to save money. So, I tried both suggestions. I was denied by one. But IFS came through! Thank you Lord! I started the process from my iPhone through Credit Karma's app. Promptly, one of their agents, Travis, contacted me. I sent him my information. Then I got an email saying I would be approved. I received the paperwork, filled it out and sent it back. It was so easy!!! Thank you, Travis!!! read more

Kelsey Hileman is AMAZING! I recently needed to update my insurance with a new lienholder and I thought that I had reached out directly to my finance company but I actually had reached out to Tresl who facilitated my refinance. The reason I am telling you this is because when Kelsey replied to my email she could've just simply said sorry we're not your finance company we can't help you with this, but instead she went above and beyond for me by updating my registration with California DMV to show my new finance company as the lienholder, she also helped me take care of an outstanding parking ticket by simply sending me an invoice to pay even though she had already processed a payment to expedite me getting my new registration card. I mean... Who does that? Trust in the corporate marketplace seems to be something that is completely absent from our society today and without being asked to do it, Kelsey trusted that I would make the payment as I promised to do and helped me get all of my paperwork prepared in a single day. She also responded to my emails within minutes of receiving them. Even questions that weren't related to her job, like my driving record, she gave me very helpful resources for getting my questions answered. Tresl is lucky to have Kelsey and I'm glad that I was lucky enough to get her as my customer service rep! read more

BUT Jon definitely made me feel more than comfortable and reassured that I was in the right hands. I am glad to have work with IFS and now have my car refinanced. Even though we weren't financing, Avis car sales forces this company to be the go-between. They are unresponsive, incompetent and unprofessional. They also charge fees that you are not told about upfront and that other car dealers do not charge. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

A while back I had a crap credit score of 500 and purchased a car @ 19% APR! (With Santander, the biggest ripoff company ever) 6 months later I then used openroadlending and got the car refinanced for 14%, with one of their lenders. A year later after paying like $700 a month the balance of the car loan decreased by 1500, total BS, you have to make sure how these companies configure their loan amortization schedule, this is something that is always "hidden" from the end user and where you totally get F#^*ed. Tried refinancing with openroad after years of perfect payments they could only get me %12.5. Took a risk with Tresl (yes from Credit Karma), and their prequal conveyed 9%, after going through the official approval process, I was approved for a 7% APR loan! This place was extremely incompetent. After going back and forth for 3 weeks, I finished all of the documents for them to assist in the refinance of my vehicle. They stated I just have to wait for the payment to my current lean holder. This was 12/14/21. The website stated payment was being submitted. After a few weeks, I reached out to the loan officer and received no reply. I then sent an email 01/10/22. Someone I've never talked to reached out to explained that payment was never submitted, and the offer is expired. They some how lost all of the notorized documents that were completed over the zoom call. So the interest rate I signed documents on was expired and I had to recomplete everything. I'm not going to have them complete another hard inquiry on my credit score just to have them lose paperwork again. read more

I use Credit Karma and was given a suggestion of a car refinance. that is how I got messed up with the company. The first customer service rep, Tedd Tran, never returned calls or emails and consistently tried to get us to pay a down payment and fees for using their service, none of this was disclosed on Credit karma. Now, nearly a month later, we were told we were approved with no down payment and the lender would be calling us to confirm everything, that never did happen and conveniently, they said Tedd Tran is no longer with them and another CSR has taken over. Now we are told that lender pulled out (which we do not believe) and they are wanting a down payment. We reinterated that we did not want a down payment, they call and harass us. This was basically fraud and scam. read more

(GM lost out on the purchase) due to your companies incompetent business dealings. I worked with IFS months before my lease was up and got nowhere. This company is a total scam. DO NOT do business with these people. I've already filed a complaint with the BBB. They had me running in circles for 2 weeks in order to re-finance my auto loan. I have yet to pay my current lender because IFS stated they'd have all this resolved. They will have loopholes in order to finance you at the highest rate & will change/edit/amend their agreements in order for them to get more money then they'll blame it on the lender, in my case Wells Fargo, them Wells Fargo will blame it on them. No worth it, look elsewhere. Do not talk to Emily or some other scumbag named David. No wonder they don't have a functioning/working website. After an offer from Innovative Funding Services to refinance my auto at 2.97%, I gave then a try. Given that they have good reviews from Nerd Wallet and Credit Karma I felt comfortable with the decision. I have excellent credit and bought my car last year with $10,000 down. But 2.97% was a little more than a percentage point better than my current rate. I also wanted to shorten the loan to build equity more quickly. Despite the offer, I was actually approved at half a percent HIGHER than my current loan, and the agent suggested I lengthen the term to lower the payments. It is like he was oblivious to our initial conversation, and didn't read anything in my application notes. I confronted him on this and asked what he had to say. I have never heard back. Don't waste your time if you are looking at the advertised rates as your goal. read more

I would like to file a formal complaint about Jose Sosa. He has not only wasted a tremendous amount of time, he is also unprofessional and full of excuses. My experience from beginning to end: I submit a an application to refinance our auto loan I receive an approved email and a call/vm by Jose I call him back and straight to vm, then he is gone for vacation I request to be transferred to a different rep that I can talk to over the phone on his vm He comes back from vacation and tells me I need to submit DL, Registration, Insurance, Pay-stub, Odometer reading and sign the Docusign, I try to call, no response. He then sends the terms and new rates over email - no phone call. I sign the Docusign and turn in all of the required documents on 7/8/2015 I follow up with the email below because my due date for Santander is due 7/20/15 Jose replies, he hasn't received any documents I call him again and he said it is my fault. He is full of excuses. What kind of service is this? Is he suppose to represent your company? Are we suppose to trust this horrible experience over our current bank?? Conclusion, he gets all the documents and says, you are not approved due to not having a Driver's License. I mean pardon my french but WTF?!! I am very pissed off. Negative rating if Yelp allowed. I purchased a vehicle from Avis through Tresl. They sent the Title to the wrong state with someone else's registration. It took an affidavit to get it corrected. Now they haven't submitted the sales tax to the state even though it's on the Buyer's Order and paid for. No one picks up the phone, it all goes to voicemail. I'm going to end up paying double tax on the car, plus late fees. read more

Got financing though these guys to buy out my leased Hyundai. Lease turn in was approaching and things were taking at l longer than I thought. I brought up my concern about the car getting repo'd. They specifically told me they were communicating to Hyundai about the buyout and not to worry about it. Car of course got repo'd. Hyundai had no communication from them. To add insult to injury, after I called them the day the repo happened they told me there were more papers I needed to sign. This is the absolute worst experience in my life. It has taken almost a month to do a simple refinance, not even much of a difference, not only did they not warn us and make us behind on our current car payment but the rep Trisha Hagan never answers or returns our phone calls until we are on vacation then that's when she bugs nonstop. They don't prewarn what information to gather together , instead they bug on the weekends , our days off and start rushing us last minute. I will never work with this company again. Tresl- from paying tresl cash for the car on February 16 to receiving the plates on May 27, it took 3 months 11 days. I wanted to reuse my plate and told tresl that in february. They ignored that.and sent me a plate. In many reviews, tresl blames secretaries of state for delays. I have never had the problems or delays at Michigan's secretary of state that I had with tresl. The texas ice storm, covid, hurt everybody. But every year has some challenge to normal life. Tresl is just inefficient, doesn't listen to customers and does in three months what most people do in a few days. read more

My experience with Tresl has been TERRIBLE! My advisor was William Madison. He seemed To be a nice person in the beginning dispute me having to constantly email him because he wouldn't get back to me until the next week. After we were able to refinance my car with another institution, he completely avoided me. I am yet to receive my car title back from the company he instructed me to mail it to. Also, he told me that I will indeed be receiving reimbursement for payments I made to my other auto finance company while my refinance process was being complete. After giving this company all of my information including my social security number, no one from their office followed up. Continuously for two weeks I tried to reach them for an update. Whenever I called I would get the run around. I have left several voicemails for my advisor "Kimberly". She has responded by sending an email that says to give her a call. I have responded to her emails and have given her several calls since and she has not returned any of my emails or calls. My best advise is to not apply with this company. It is not worth giving all of your information and a credit inquiry on your credit report. read more

Do NOT do business with this company!!! To say my experience with IFS has been a nightmare is an outright understatement. Doing something as simple as buying a car and registering it in the state where I reside has become an exhaustive 7-month struggle. The staff at IFS, on a rare instance where you can get ahold of them, is completely incompetent and dishonest. They TWICE sent my title to the wrong place, and mistakenly truncated my phone number, so the DMV COULD NOT contact me. On top of that - IFS shamefully had the arrogance to charge ME for the late feels incurred by THEIR glaring blunders. After being passed on to countless untrustworthy "managers" - each of which raising the total cost to me - I'm still without the proper documents to drive my vehicle. In fact - my title is still to this day "lost in the mail" as a direct result of the complete ineptitude and utter uselessness of IFS. REPEAT: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH IFS! They are mere crooks who will stop at nothing to steal your money while inducing considerable headaches over an extended period of your life you can't get back. YOU WILL REGRET IT. read more

This company is shady. I applied, and I was offered some auto refi choices. I made a choice, and then someone called me. He asked me for all this information, so I asked him to confirm I was getting the refi choice I chose. He said yes. I gather all my personal information he needed (DL, insurance, registration, etc) and I upload it to him. He then tells me he can't get me the offer I chose and the best he could do would increase my payment. Now they have all my confidential information unnecessarily. This is just very bad business. read more
