I'm wondering if I have somehow entered into a parallel universe where the sun is always shining ( but not scorching hot) and the people are always happy. Why, you say? Well. About a year ago, we had the good fortune (and sense) to purchase a certified, pre-owned Buick from this dealership. In my history with dealerships, mostly in Massachusetts, I never went back for any service. My past reluctance was due to terrible service from dealers in the past including one instance where a service manager tried to charge me for service that hadn't even been done. All that's in the past now. I've been re-educated by my experiences here. This morning , I went in for an oil change. Drove under the service portal and was immediately approached by a service writer. I gave him my information and told him that I was there for an oil change. He directed me to the very comfortable waiting room where I Brewed myself a nice cup of coffee. I then sank into one of the very comfortable, plush chairs and sipped my coffee. In a lot less time than I had been prepared for, the service writer summoned me to go over the paperwork . Because I had purchased a " Certified, pre-owned " vehicle from them, there was no charge for my full synthetic oil change. Even if I had to pay for it. The change would have been only $99. But... they also rotated the tires, washed and vacuumed the car. So, my recommendation is that if you are going to purchase a new or used vehicle, start here. You're not going to do better anywhere else. read more

Thank you for getting my car done within three hours however I'll bring Vaseline next time. None of my rewards are on my account from the past 3 years i'm only coming here for all my service, come to find out there was a break deal available and no one let me know. I had to find out on my own after spending $1600 that there was actually a discount available.. you really should try to retain a customers who only bring your car there for Service and who plan on purchasing another vehicle in the future. I've never spent so much money and felt like I was not appreciated for it. Dealership put up to many road blocks when looking at two new corvettes (Z06 and Grandsport). Could not even test drive before running credit and have an agreement to to move to processing. I get not wanting joy riders, but it was clear that I was not one. I don't go through the process and run my credit before test driving anything. I was also looking for a 3/4 ton, would they have stopped me from test driving before running credit? I could have paid cask for both and they knew that. read more

Hewlett Service Dept - Quite the disappointment. I brought my 2025 Silverado to Hewlett for a recall. I arrived at 8:45 AM and dropped off my truck with the estimate of 4-6 hours until it would be completed. By 3 PM I had not heard from anyone besides the first text message after dropping off my truck. I called the service department a little after 3 PM and was told that they didn't have the part to address the recall. Total waste of time and I will not return. I arranged to complete the recall at a neighboring GMC dealership and the first thing they did was order the part and then arranged my appointment. read more

As stated, the caliper failed which caused the majority of the vehicle stopping power to the front brakes. The front Brake pads still had decent life to them.... but as stated, Chevrolets 36/36 is BULL. And Hewitt not backing up the product.... NEVER AGAIN WILL I STEP INTO YOUR DEALERSHIP. And if just one person reads this and I stop them from using or buying a vehicle.... Then it was worth every penny of me fixing them myself. Xpress Lube Service. Hours of operation state you close at 6pm. If someone shows up at 5:30pm requesting an oil change and tire rotation, I think that service should be completed. If you want to take your last service at 5pm, I would suggest changing your hours of operation to close at 5pm. Better communication, better service. read more

Within hours of posting this review I received a call directly from Mike Hewlett canceling my followup appointment to finish the warranty work on the one item that got covered for me as a "favor". He directly referenced the online review as the reason why my appointment was being canceled. ** Only come here if you enjoy having to fight for the rights afforded to you under the manufacturer's warranty. Took the car in for some items of concern. Their initial response was, Nope sorry, none of that is covered. When pressed on their conclusion, they'll come back with some hand waving about exclusions. When pressed further, the terms of such exclusions will never be produced, and depending on how confident they feel about being able to stonewall the issue, it can go one of two ways: 1. They'll do you the "favor" of seeing what they can do to get it covered. 2. They'll shut you down by acknowledging there is an issue, but it is only because you are not using the car "as designed". Unfortunately this issue isn't limited to a service advisor or two. It goes straight to the top with Mr. Mike Hewlett himself. And of course, they never have any loaners available. read more

We came to Don Hewlett for a used truck they had. Jamie was the first contact and reached out to us quickly and provided information for us. Austin was our salesperson and sent me a video walk around of the truck, which was helpful since we live an hour away. He was helpful when we scheduled a time to come in and was ready for us. We negotiated a fair deal, I think, and we got it completed that day. Trinity was helpful as well with a couple of addons we wanted for the truck. I'm going to be as honest as I can with this review. To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement. I own a 2020 Trail Boss 1500 with the 6.2L engine. I brought my truck in back in June because the motor went out due to lifter failure. That's a whole other can of worms, but that issue is more on GM than the dealership. Once I agreed to the repair, I asked them to also take a look at my radio, which hadn't been working for about six months. I was told -- and later verified -- that the radio had been fixed. It was not. The lack of communication I experienced throughout this entire process was unreal. Fast forward two months: my motor finally arrives. I received both a phone call and a text notifying me of this. I responded with, "Let me know when it's ready to be picked up." Two days later, I got another call saying my service writer had failed to tell me that I was expected to put half down before the work could begin. I was then told I had less than 12 hours to come up with $6,000 or the motor would go to the next person in line. So let me get this straight -- you've had my truck for two months, never once mentioned that I needed to put money down, and now you're giving me less than 12 hours to pay? Fast forward another two weeks: I'm told the work is complete. I ask again if they fixed the radio and I'm told, yes, it's working. The day I arrive to pick up my truck, I get in -- and the radio still doesn't work. I turn around, go back inside, and ask why I was lied to. My service writer looks at me confused, like he has no idea what I'm talking about. He then tells me the technician who handles radios isn't there that day. I asked, "Has he not been here for the past three months?" Now I'm being told I have to come back next week and leave my truck again for half a day. Keep in mind, this entire time I've been without a vehicle because Don Hewlett has refused to offer a loaner vehicle. I have been on a "waiting list" which im 100% convinced does not exist. Expecting someone to go three months without a vehicle and still come up with $14,000 for repairs is insane. And to top it all off -- today I noticed the oil change indicator wasn't even reset. I got an entirely new motor, which means there's new oil in it, so why wasn't that reset? 0/10. I do not recommend this place for any service or repair. I bought a 2020 Corvette from them in good faith, but they didn't sell it to me in good faith. after having it a few day I noticed a vibration at around 55 mph. I took it to my local dealership and they said it was most likely a tire balance issue. I took it to a tire place, where they found ALL FOUR TIRES out of balance, plus a bent rim on the rear. They showed me signs of the rim attempting to being repaired. I went back to the dealership and showed them the video I took of the tire under rotation. I was told in no uncertain terms that I probably hit something that caused all four tires to throw weights and bend the rim. Had that happened there would be some evidence elsewhere on the car. I don't know if they would have treated a man in the same manner, but that's something a woman has to deal with when dealing with car salesmen :-/ I told him to put the car on a lift and look at the tire, and check for any damage to the underside of the car, but he refused. Had he cared enough to even look at the rim he would have seen the attempts to repair it. DO NOT BUY A USED CAR (CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED OR NOT) FROM THOS DEALERSHIP. Look at their reviews. They have a long history of not standing behind their word. My salesman's name was Austin Allred and the sales manager who refuse to do anything was Orlando Mata. Jerred Nanney in reply to my wifes review You did not state to me that the vehicle was used; however, you did inform the service advisor at Covert that it was used and even referenced the Carfax to support that claim. Yes, the vehicle was lifted two inches. As I previously stated -- and as you agreed -- the lift works within all factory specifications and does not require any sensor adjustments. Given your role overseeing vehicle service, your continued assertion otherwise is concerning and inconsistent with what was previously discussed. To be clear, as you acknowledged, no adjustment to that sensor was necessary after the lift. You also agreed that the lift installation was straightforward and did not require any work near the front bumper. In contrast, the emblem installation did require removal of front-end components. You acknowledged that as well. The fact that the installation took over two hours, and that your service advisor informed me the front end had to be removed because the process was more difficult than expected, strongly suggests the front assembly was taken apart during the process. Based on the damage discovered, it is reasonable to conclude that something occurred during that removal and was not properly disclosed. This raises serious concerns regarding transparency and integrity at your dealership. Regarding Trident Motorsports, they have agreed to assist with the installation -- not because they were at fault, but because they are operating in good faith and are making an effort to help resolve a customer issue professionally read more

I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Don Hewlett Chevrolet and feel obligated to warn others. I brought my brand new 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 into their accessory department to have factory black GMC badging installed -- parts that we purchased specifically for this vehicle. My husband scheduled the appointment and was told it would take about an hour to replace all badging. When I arrived, Keith in the accessory department told me the employee who scheduled us was "new" and didn't know what she was talking about. I was then told replacing the front GMC emblem was extensive and would take the entire hour, and that we would have to pay for additional labor to complete all badging. I agreed to only have the front and rear GMC emblems replaced. After waiting well beyond the quoted time, I was told the install was "more complicated than expected" and that the front end had to be removed to replace the emblem. I trusted their expertise and left believing everything was properly reassembled. Several months later, I began experiencing electronic failures involving Super Cruise and other front-end systems. I took the vehicle to another GM dealership for diagnosis. Their inspection revealed multiple bolts missing from the front end, components improperly reinstalled, sensors zip-tied in place, and parts glued back together. Water intrusion from this improper reassembly caused corrosion and sensor failure. I was informed that the vehicle was not put back together to GM standards, and as a result, the factory warranty coverage on the affected part has been voided. This is the only service ever performed on the front end of this vehicle. When we contacted Don Hewlett Chevrolet, Jerred Nanney refused to take responsibility and attempted to argue that the vehicle was purchased used -- which is incorrect. I have documentation showing it was purchased brand new from GM. This situation goes far beyond a simple cosmetic install. Improper reassembly affecting safety-related systems on a new vehicle is unacceptable. If you value your vehicle and expect work to be completed to manufacturer standards, I strongly recommend proceeding with caution. read more

I purchased a vehicle march 2025 and unfortunately it turned out to be defective. Shortly after purchase, I noticed engine problems, electrical issues, safety concerns. When I contacted the dealership about the problem, instead of providing real support, they dismissed my concerns, refused to cover certain repairs, and offered no solution. Buying a car is a big investment, and I expected honesty and accountability. Instead, I was left with a vehicle that is unreliable and costly to fix. I'm sharing this so that others are aware before doing business here. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a dealership that stands behind what they sell. I find it misleading that the dealership is trying to frame this situation as if I simply purchased an "As Is" vehicle and later developed problems. The truth is, the issues with my 2019 GMC Terrain began the same day I drove it off the lot. That alone should tell future customers everything they need to know about the quality of vehicles being sold here. Yes, the dealership eventually replaced the engine, but needing a full engine replacement immediately after purchase is unacceptable and shows this vehicle should never have been sold in the first place. The so-called "professional courtesy" repairs were not favors -- they were attempts to patch up a sale that was bad from the start. Instead of owning up to selling me a defective car, the dealership hides behind the "As Is" disclaimer while downplaying the severity of what happened. This wasn't normal wear-and-tear; this was a vehicle with major, pre-existing issues sold to me as if it were roadworthy. I'm posting this so others know to be extremely cautious. The Service Department has managed to damage my car and diminish its value each time I brought it in for service. At this point, I'm just grateful to be alive. At least they proved my original concerns correct! It's astounding how Service Advisors and the service manager conveniently disappear each time I arrive to pick up the car--nowhere to be found! The seamless act of dodging responsibility between the dealership and GM deserves a standing ovation. I've taken my car in four times for the same issues, spanning 25 days at the dealership. Not only did they puncture two of my tires (one replaced, the other merely patched), but they also managed to worsen the initial problem--a steering shudder--which led to a coolant leak into the engine spark plug tube, causing the ignition coil to short out. Following these "repairs," the AC now blows hot air, a dent mysteriously appeared on the roof, the hood and fender were returned misaligned, the radio continues to malfunction, and the rear camera either switches to a fisheye view or stays on even when driving forward. He communicated well, took the time to listen to my various wants/needs and showed me multiple vehicles. All employees I dealt with were helpful and made the laborious process a bit less painful! My in laws have been Hewlett customers for several decades so I am glad that I continued the patronage. Dealer offers 2023 model year value on a 2024 car as a trade in. Trade in value $6k less than KBB, pre owned vehicle for sale $10k more than KBB, interest is high at this point. I lose on my trade in, I lose on my high finance rate and I lose on overpriced cars. It's just a waste of time to start any deal with this dealership. We purchased a cargo van from them in 2020. The transmission started acting up and we were told in San Antonio we needed a new transmission. We called Don Hewlett dealership to see if we had any warranty. Salesman said we had a warranty and told us to bring it in. We brought it in and he said to leave it and he would check transmission. He called today said we didn't have warranty but they could fix transmission for $7000. More questioning led to the admission they didn't have one at the dealership but would do a nationwide search to find one, no timeline given. We said no and we'd come pick it up. Here now trying to pick it up and they are trying to charge $214 diagnostic fee that we never agreed too. Not a huge amount but it is the principle. Would never recommend or do business with them again. In my opinion they are shysters. read more

I would EASILY give 5 stars if this was a review regarding the sales department and Edwin in service alone. However, there have been some issues with the service department. One time I was told they could fit me in for an emergency tire situation and when we arrived, nobody knew what we were talking about at the service department or at the express lube. That was frustrating. I have had a slow leak on one my wheels/tires since I bought the Tahoe last year and they tell me every time they cannot find anything wrong. I am going to be scheduling another appointment to have it checked again and request it be replaced since I bought the wheel/tire protection package and it continues to leak air slowly over time. I have also experiencing an alignment issue with a crooked steering wheel and they "fixed it". It is still slightly crooked and annoys the crap out of me. I am going to have them look at it again. Edwin is NOT the person turning the wrench. He is the service writer. He is an awesome guy, very polite, and was my service writer for all of my service and warranty claims on my previous Buick Enclave. He truly does everything he can to make things right. I think they need some help in the shop itself. I am not going to slam anyone though because overall, they have been alright. I would love to leave a 5 star review, but these minor issues have dropped it one star. The salesperson we used was Tyler, but unfortunately, he no longer works there. The sales manager was a good guy, and I like that he stayed with us while we ironed out the deal instead of having to wait for the salesperson to go back and forth. They didn't pressure us in any way and there weren't any hidden fees or "sneaky" packages tacked onto the price I had to find. They let me pick what I wanted. Finance was department was good too. We drove several cars the day we decided on the Tahoe as well and they were patient with us. This is the second car I have purchased from them and I would definitely return. I would just like a little more thoroughness from the service department. But, they have all been nice. read more

I took my 2024 Corvette still under full warranty, there to have my breaks checked appointment scheduled 04-14-25 @ 09:30 .The service rep stated that this is not covered under warranty . He proceeded to tell me this is not a warranty issue without checking the vehicle at all. they lied 1st stated they didn't have me scheduled. Then I was told to call the dealer I purchased car from in Houston and try to get the to pay $315 quoted to me again without checking out to confirm the root cause . Their service department comes across as shady and not professional. They call back the next day stating I missed my appointment on 04-14-25 which was the 2 nd lie obviously this was to appear I never showed up to cover all the lies that the felt I would make a formal complaint about there shady business practices and many lies told not to honor CPO warranties . I will seek for further assistance in resolving my issue. Please believe all the 1 star reviews . This review is mainly for the Sales side. Dealerships generally get a bad rap, and so I was pretty nervous of the general experience of buying cars, especially this being my first. I stopped by a few times, once for a test drive, once to put in an deposit for an custom order, and a final time to bring the car home. Walking in, all of the staff was in good spirits and the receptionist at the front was really nice and offered us water. My salesman was Randall Waters, and he made everything so easy and comfortable. The car was sold at MSRP just like he promised a full year ago, and while he suggested some extra add-ons like tinting and seat protection, he didn't push any of it on us.  From the car registration to providing copies of the paperwork to getting us set up for the home installation to getting our new car linked to our account, Randall took care of it all.  I was prepared for the worst, but it turns out that I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Went to get oil change, afterwards one of the guys offered to change the battery in my remote after I mentioned it was going dead. They also said it would be 2 hours but was ready 1.5hrs so that's also a plus. Would also like to add the older gentleman with a boot on his foot is a solid guy with great customer service. Now they won't take appointments for warranty service stating it's first come first served. will only give a repair window of 2 to 4 days, and no longer have loaner vehicles. I heard the same thing from a co worker that purchased in 2022. She now goes to another dealership for service. This is how Don Hewlett treats their customers and long time Chevy customers. Bogus Express Lane Service fee's and poor customer service! The Express Lane tried to charge $24.99 for rotating 35in tires that were bought at their dealership. In fact, the truck was bought new at their dealership as well. The tire rotation was included with the previous multipoint oil change. When I asked for an explanation, the Manager Chris got upset. He said he's been at the dealership for three years and he's trying to fix things. If you're looking for good customer service, don't expect it from Chris! Review for Don Hewlett Chevrolet SERVICE Dept. Brought in my truck (2023 GMC Sierra) for transmission fluid service (fluid exchange) and was told it may require the exhaust to be removed to access the transmission pan. I thought this was weird since I've been under the truck before and never noticed the exhaust in the way of the pan. Service advisor said they'd have to charge for it IF it needed to be removed. I OK'ed the service thinking if that's what they need to do - then so be it. I was charged an additional $275.04 in labor to remove the exhaust to perform the service. I drove the truck home after service and observed the exhaust did NOT need to be removed to do the service and the tech who performed the service did NOT in fact remove the exhaust (corrosion covered fasteners and clamps). Ripped me off and who knows how many other countless customers by charging for service that wasn't performed. read more

My husband and I just purchased our second vehicle from Don Hewlett Chevrolet in Georgetown! The last time we purchased a 2022 Silverado LTZ Texas Edition and our experience was with salesman Nelson. This time we found Nelson had been promoted (which he deserved!) and so we had a different salesman named Victor Sanchez. Victor turned out to be as wonderful as Nelson was to us and we felt like family once again! Victor went above and beyond helping us because the only vehicle I wanted was in Conroe. It is a 2025 Blazer Premier and I love it so much. Victor left at 7am to drive to Conroe to get my Blazer and back to Georgetown to deliver it to me. This was true dedication as he drove 6+ hours to get my car and he was leaving for his family vacation that evening! So, bless his heart! After that long drive to get my vehicle, he then had to drive another 4 hours to the coast for his family's vacation! He was so kind and was genuinely so happy to have picked up my vehicle for me! He really went the extra mile for us! He was so easy to work with and helped us to go through the features of my Blazer to make sure I knew how to work everything. All of this after his long drive and facing another one! I usually don't enjoy the process of buying a vehicle but I can honestly say that having Victor as our salesman made this an easy and happy experience! Victor is such an asset to Don Hewlett Chevrolet! Like I said, this is the second vehicle we have purchased from Don Hewlett and the next purchase will be with them plus we will insist that Victor Sanchez is our salesman! This is my 2nd review on the service center. If you have an easy issue, I'm sure they can get to it and get it fixed quickly. However, if you have a complicated issue, It sucks there. I had my truck in last week all day Friday. I stayed there for 12-hours waiting. I have an app that I can see where the truck is. Most of the day it sat in the parking lot. It didn't get in till about 2pm. I was told they can find anything wrong. Had to get the technician in the truck to let heim hear the noice. He heard it. The truck sat the rest of the day idle in the parking lot. Come to closing time, they forgot to take me home.... Decided to take it back in to give them four more days of my persoanl time to determine the issue. They installed a new driveshaft, still did not fix the issue. I constantly looked at the app to see where the truck was. I did see it was in the shop a couple of times. But mostly in the parking lot sitting. They issued a work order number for the engineers at GM to make recommendations. All I was told, they want the dealership to do more testing. I asked what other testing? If there is more testing to be done, why is the truck sitting in the parking lot more than it is in the shop??? Overall- I have taken off from work 6 days in total. Missed my normal pay and a lot of overtime that I needed and relied on. I had to cancel my doctors appointment (outpatient surgery). Just because they would not supply a loaner so I could get to work, etc... It's not like I have nothing else to do but wiat on them to decide what the hell is happening... Instead, I sat around waiting for them to find nothing... And they still want more time to do more testing. I feel, they had the truck long enough to do all sorts of testing. Instead it sits in the parking lot... The paperwork also said they did a courtousy car wash. LMAO!!! no they did not... Bird crap all over it. :-( I will not be taking the truck back to them for me to see the truck sitting in the parking lot more than being worked on or testing. I need to work and I can not afford to drop it off and have no way to get to work. I am not happy at all with this situation. read more

Let me just start by saying how unorganized and chaotic my visit was with them to start. They didn't call me to tell me about my vehicle report or engine light after I asked for it to be checked they just said car is ready for pick up. Okay whatever I called and asked. Well I have video evidence I left my house with a perfectly fine tail end of my truck (which by the way we rarely use and sits in my driveway) no dent or damage at all! And I pick up my truck with a HUGE dent and fresh scratch marks. Very frustrating they were closed when but my frustration was building and got into contact on Sunday with customer service who told me a manager would reach out to me 9am on Monday. NOTHING. I call them around noon and he says we'll bring it in and we will "see if we're liable". I'm at work but I manage to get off in time to make it to them on Monday, when I approach the counter the service tech said "Jessie or Joey" will be right with me wait in the waiting room. As I wait I notice the service manager get up and go straight to my truck with some paper and pen and I jump up to follow him and he then says oh do you own this truck. Well yes. And then proceeded to tell me that his paper he was using says the damage was already there. As I look at it I notice the pen mark were fresh or different from the rest and obnoxious to match my description of my whole tail end when it was near the front. Either way if he is being honest or not why did he not come to me first and then go to my truck but go out when I'm not there. And if the tech or whoever was driving my truck did this to my vehicle of course there gonna put it was already there because they are lying in the first place. Whatever I continue to talk to this guy and he says we're not liable "sorry bud". Furious I just let it go, never in my life have I been screwed over like this and coming from a dealership which I'm supposed to trust. This dealer is all about sales and not service. They have had my truck for a week for an engine light and still has no idea what it is. They tell me diagnostics take time. Yet I have to keep reaching out to them for updates. They want to sell me a new truck, but if this is how they service you, then NO. I bought this truck from them 6 years ago. I asked about a loaner, and they told me that there are 18 others asking the same question. I have an extended warranty on my vehicle so I know things will be covered but a week??? Once you speak to them, they talk at you and not with you. I do not know how many people out there can deal without a vehicle they need for work for over a week without a loaner is very frustrating. I am worried that if and when I get this back that I won't have any other issues with this truck that I have had no other issues with. Communication is the key to good customer service. Joseph worked with us today to get us in a great car. I had shopped at several dealerships, ended up calling them when I found a similar car available at their lot. The car was priced at more than the other car I was looking at and had more miles so I asked if they were willing to negotiate before I even drove there. They were not only willing to negotiate but made us feel very welcome and helped us stay within budget. We ended up in a completely different car than we had initially gone to see. Joseph spent ALL day with us showing us different cars, walking us through everything, and allowing us to test drive multiple cars without having to go through hoops. Other dealerships we visited (Mercedes Benz of Austin, BMW of Austin, Discovery Auto etc) didn't seem to want to earn our business. It was very much so "you like it or not? If not, see ya" where I felt much more welcomed and at home with Joseph right off the bat. He didn't over promise things like a traditional salesman that you aren't actually going to get, he was honest and knowledgeable. Additionally the finance manager was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and didn't push anything on us that we didn't need. He was upfront about what was necessary and what was not so we didn't leave paying more than we needed to or wanted to. We would definitely come back to work with them again in the future. Keep in mind, if you are a self shopper like myself and just drive the lots before talking to someone, the prices aren't 100% accurate and were actually marked down more than what was listed so it paid off to talk to someone. read more

My husband and his friend went to test drive a truck last Saturday and told the guy when he walked in he wasn't buying today just needed to figure out what he liked for when we are ready to buy next month. The sales rep Julian told him he could skip test drive paperwork if he rode during the test drive and he should drive him to our house since we lived close by. When they got her our friends were outside with me and Julian stepped out od the truck and immediately started sales pitching me. I told him it's a nice truck but we aren't looking to buy til next month and we'd consider using him when we were ready. He then turns to our friends and asks them what's the difference between next month and this month (um not their business or his) and then proceeds to tell me he has a wife so he knows how this works... Over the next few days he has called from 3 separate numbers including twice at 8:30pm and every time we block a number he uses a new one, on top of consistently texting and emailing. I don't know how an email with the title "Did you get shot" is appropriate, especially with the recent events of 19 children being shot to death in Uvalde. I do not appreciate this disrespect and harassment from their employee after my husband has said multiple times we are not buying. We will definitely not he purchasing from here and will drive to Covert in Hutto when we are ready next month. read more
