The owner/manager of tresser towing is an unbelievably rude hothead. I am a Nicks Honda customer and was dropping my car off for service. I unknowingly parked in front of tessler towing who have the garage to the left of Nicks Honda. Nick came out of the garage aggressively and started screaming at me " you can effing park here!" I was confused and apologetic but he would not let me get in a word and just continued screaming. There's no sign on his garage - I would have no way of knowing that he's separate from Nicks and Shaffers tires. This could have been avoided if there was signage saying "no parking" this is tresser towing. This guy Nick is a scary hot head. Avoid this company! read more

The gentleman that answers the phone here, seems to be unhappy in life or maybe the job. He has ZERO people or customer service skills. It is quite sad to know companies like this exist with their rudeness and we have no control over it bc they have your property and if they want, they can make it way harder for you bc it seems like this is how they work. Asking questions and getting answers like "uh I'm not sure" or "I don't remember", seriously how does a business like this stay open?! Just avoid using them, the cities should stop too. I would give zero stars if I could. My father's car was stolen and found, and we needed to contact Tressers to pick up the vehicle. On the phone Nick was extremely rude and agitated as we tried to ask basic questions about how to retrieve the vehicle. This place deserves 0 stars. They do not have a receptionist at their Burlingame office, so you have to call to let them know you are there and wait for one of their tow truck drivers to show up to do paperwork with you. I called when I was on my way, called when I got there, and I still had to wait over 30 minutes. After I paid, the tow truck driver tells me that the car is actually located in San Mateo, so I would have to follow him there to pick it up. I don't know if they are short staffed or trying to save money, but this was definitely not a good customer experience. I inquired about the cost breakdown and they said it includes 2 days lot fees= $200, and $288 towing fees. I told them they you towed it this morning according to the police department. I needed a tow today for what appeared to be a dead battery. Nick showed up way sooner than scheduled, which was appreciated, and within 10 minutes managed to get the car started (it was not a dead battery) so I could drive to the repair shop. He would not accept payment since he did not have to tow the car. I called for a Tow the day before my van did not have Drive Gear, the rate they gave was the same for the tow. He arrived. within an hour and manually put the van in gear to position it for the tow. I had a great experience with Tresser's who was recommended to me by my mechanic when my car broke down. They were punctual, knew what they were doing (got my car out of a tight space in the parking garage with no issues), and easy to work with. The cost was exactly what I was quoted, and what I expected to pay for the service. My guess is some of the bad reviews here are due to people being in a horrible mood already, nobody calls a tow truck for fun. read more

I was waiting for this tow company to tow my car for 2 days. On the first day, they said they would come in a half an hour to two hours. Then it became another two hour to three hour, then they said they would come after 4pm. However, next morning came they managed to message me saying "If you still need a towing service. Feel free to call me" after they no showed on me. I still need their help to get my dead car towed so I waited. I shouldn't have trusted them. They never showed up again. Please if you can't come, just be honest and say you can't. That's far better than lying and wasting someone's time. read more

2 of my tires were having issues so I didn't want to risk crossing a bridge in the rain with suspect tires. I discovered the problem at a gas station trying to remeasure the pressure so luckily I wasn't stuck on the side of the road. I called Topline (which is where I get my car serviced) and they referred me to Tresser's. 30 minutes later, Andrew came to pick me up with a flat bed truck. He was very nice and polite and took care of everything ... he was even pleasant to the annoying lady who accosted him for help on her car. Excuse me, I'm the damsel in the distress ... or rather, I'm the damsel paying for this tow. After dropping off my car, he drove me to bart in his tow truck. Can't beat the service. In what otherwise was a very inconvenient evening, this went off without a hitch (ha ha) and at half the price of what was quoted to me by Geico for an in town tow. read more

Point blank: the customer service via telephone is awful. The dispatcher was completely short, interruptive, rude and didn't care about giving me information about my mother's vehicle. Most of all, I'm telling the man that my mom was in a near death accident, I'm standing in the hospital room now trying to handle all the other logistics. He was uncooperative, judgmental and not empathetic at all to my situation. I'm honestly writing this after we got our car because I grew suspicious and felt that if I wrote this immediately during my experience that they were going to do something to the car or raise the prices. They try everything in their will to no give you back your vehicle, they change the rate on the spot to charge you a little more, then when I paid $3700+ for a 30 day impound I get my car back, everything looked normal inside and out, it's a BMW E46, but 10-15 minutes driving it back to my house my temperature gauge spiked up quick meaning my car is overheating and then my coolant level sensor turns on and so I pull over to a close by 7/11 parking lot to check under the hood. First I open my coolant reservoir and it was completely empty and a little Smokey, so I try and put some coolant in there and it wouldn't fill up and then I notice it was because all the coolant I was pouring in was leaking from the bottom. I take a closer look and the coolant hose was detached... It was not detached before the tow... something felt fishy about this towing company, STAY AWAY AT ALL COST! The 99 Eurovan failed on 280 in a rather dramatic fashion on the way back from a Sunday afternoon wedding in Half Moon Bay. I had a meeting with a couple getting married SOON, so I did not want to miss the appointment for something as trifling as an engine explosion. I fired up the mobile browser from the side of the road, and the first 5 places I called were all answered by the same cranky lady telling me to hold. I don't mind holding, but could she have at least said please? It sounded like a call center, so I kept trying. Call #6 was to Tressers. A calm human being answered the phone and he had a driver to me in 20 minutes. I got towed to my appointment (loaded to the gills with DJ gear!) made it to my meeting on time, and impressed the pants off of them with the fact that I had a box of yummy cake from the days event. When I got home that night - I Yelped out a good mechanic in the area and called Tressers in the AM to get towed 10 miles to Excelsior Auto Care in the City. (Nice folks!) The very helpful lady at tressers explained because of my destination, and their destination, it would probably be cheaper for me to call a competitor that was closer to the two. I REALLY appreciated the honesty. After spending a few minutes on the phone, I gave up and just called them back. It was only $20 more than the original tow. Unsurprising to come on here to leave a review and see the same complaint over and over again. The dispatcher in the office is completely rude and unprofessional. It doesn't take brains to run a towing service but this chap takes it to another level. A relocation company that we were using hired Tresser's to move my wife's car. Tresser's were supposed to call and arrange a time to pick up my wife's car which they never did. I had told the relo company that I would not be at home during a specific 90 minute window on the day they supposed to pick up which they relayed to the dispatcher. Tresser's never called to arrange but instead they just turned up at my house during the time I was out. They called me to ask where I was and when I asked why I wasn't called by them to arrange a time I was told that they had been given the wrong phone number. Miraculously they had the right phone number when their driver was sitting outside my house though and it was inconveniencing them! The dispatcher was totally rude acting as though it was somehow everybody else's fault. He wanted me to leave my 5 year old daughters swim meet to go and give the driver the keys! Then he hung up on me when I was telling him I wasn't happy with how he was dealing with the situation. I spoke to the relo company and advised them not to use Tresser's in the future as it looks badly on the relo company itself that they choose such unprofessional partners. Real Review, from a Real customer (Myself): A+++ My back pack was stolen. Welcome to San Francisco. My car keys: Gone. My house keys: Gone. My wallet: Gone I'm glad I had a spare key to my Audi. Oops. I hid it in the trunk. Genius. I called a number of other locksmiths and they had said they will probably have to drill the locks. That can be REALLY expensive to fix. In addition, they require the current registration to be present (In the car) Finally I was referred to Tressers from the Audi Dealership in Millbrae to pop the locks. (No drilling) Megan, (the nice gal on the phone) said she has a guy that is well versed in opening Audi's. They were at my car in no time. I was so stressed they would damage the locks. Have you used them around 5x since then to transport various old cars back to the workshop for service. Nick and his staff were simply amazing to deal with. No long conversation. The truck came 30min later than our appointment, but the lady at the shop kept me updated with 2 calls about the delay, very responsible. The guy who drove the truck was resourceful and professional. While in Burlingame I got a flat =( I called my emergency roadside service (AAA) only to learn I had exhausted my service for the year already! I made my 2nd called to my auto insurance company. They were willing to send someone out to change the flat but wanted me to pay out of pocket and then be refunded. I then noticed a Tressers Towing sign. They are located in Burlingame. Our car broke down in Millbrae with electrical problems that were eventually diagnosed as a bad voltage regulator. We have towing service included in our auto insurance, but the only towing service our insurance company authorized to tow us home (10 miles) was $100 more than what our insurance covered. After phoning around I decided to use Tresser's, which quoted a flat $80. The tow truck arrived when we were told it would. The driver verified that there was no easy fix for our problem, so he towed us home. He was friendly, professional, polite, and intelligent. We enjoyed chatting with him during the ride home. We were charged exactly $80, as promised. We expected the worst, but received the best service ever. We cannot recommend them highly enough. :-) read more
