My car's condenser suddenly went out during a winter week when it just so happened to be warm (go figure LA weather). I took my car to the dealer who quoted me an exorbitant amount to replace the condenser as it was considered "outside influence" and not covered under warranty. I decided to follow the recommendations of various people and dropped in to see Danny for a quote. Danny and his team were very patient and checked out my car thoroughly, looking to see how they would go about replacing the condenser. Both Danny and his team took their time and were willing to explain the process and answer all of my questions. The cost of repair was significantly less than the dealership. Danny estimated it would take half a day to complete the job -- because of my schedule, I had to figure out a plan before leaving my car. I was able to bring my car back in right before closing and anticipated the replacement to be completed by end of the next day. Lo and behold, I get a call from Danny the next morning at 10 am letting me know my car was ready!!! Danny and the team at Tri Auto exceeded all of my expectations and made me feel extremely comfortable. He and his team were honest and straightforward with everything. They were also very efficient, even though they still take the time to make sure you, as the customer, feel comfortable with all questions answered. This place is cheap for a reason. I needed my headlight ballast changed and they instructed me to buy the wrong one. Instead of telling me to buy a new one, they went ahead and put the wrong unit in my car. In order to do so, they made incisions in the unit which left it vulnerable to water damage. I was told that I would have to get a whole new headlight replacement for $1000! Do not trust this place, the reviews are misleading. read more

I've been taking my Toyotas here for years. This is the most honest group of mechanics I have ever met. They always do a great job and never overcharge me or try to fix things that don't need fixing. Once our check engine light kept turning back on and it was a vague code that could mean a lot of problems. They kept trying different fixes until they figured out the problem and only charged me for the parts that finally worked. The ratings are valid Danny is honest and efficient as I thought the pinging was an issue with the piston it turns out the car was low on oil, which had never happened. But rather than trying cause me to spend more on something else, Danny was honest and charged me for an oil change only. Fast service will be back with my Toyota Truck and Honda! read more

If Danny advises that something particular is wrong or needs fixing, that's what he focuses on and handles the job! Danny is also very resourceful for repairs such as transmissions that he may not work on, and sends you to someone who is also reliable and reasonably priced. Hands down, best experience with a mechanic I have ever had. Danny, the owner, has integrity, he is honest, he does what he says he will do, which are very hard qualities to find these days. He is patient, he always says, "yes" and has never disappointed me. I had my brakes done there and several weeks after, I was hearing a noise, he told me to bring it back whenever I was in the area. Of course, when I took the car to him, I could not hear the noise. He said, "bring it whenever you hear the noise again. It took several trips to his shop and driving it around the neighborhood with Danny along for the ride, every time! We finally heard it and he fixed the problem! Didn't charge me anything because he said, "it was under warranty" WOW! You just don't get that kind of service anymore, but Danny always delivers. Will NEVER return here again!! My boyfriend and I got our car "fixed" here by Danny and his team and not even a week later, it broke down again. We return to see him and he charges even more money to find the "problem" and "fixes" it again. A few more days go by and it breaks down again! Cost us another $650 to get it repaired and a whole two weeks of hell! Even had to use up all my AAA tows and missed work because the car kept breaking down. We nicely returned to his shop today to talk about what happened and he was nothing but rude. The entire conversation was him on his phone texting and not even listening to us and even rudely answered a phone call on his phone and walked away without saying anything. The mechanic we had to fix the vehicle after Danny, knew we had just had work done on our car, he even knew exactly what was recently fixed and told us that the car shop who did the repairs (Tri Auto) fucked up badly. We tried reasoning with Danny about how his team messed up our car and we wanted even a slight refund but all he said was "No I can't do that" and just walked away from us yet again. We have been to Danny multiple times and have taken two cars and even recommended him to friends and family who have started to see him. We told them about our experience and we have all decided to find a better shop that actually backs their work. Danny does not. You get what you pay for here, very cheap parts and work that is NOT guaranteed. read more

About a week after I had two CV joints replaced they started leaking. Danny said to bring it back in and he would look at it but I figured why bother I'm not going to get the whole story; I took it to a more local mechanic who determined that seals were not replaced when the CV joint work was done and that was a source of the leak. read more

I usually take my car to the dealership for repairs but when the dealership wanted $150 just to diagnose the problem I was reluctant. At the dealership you have to talk the service rep, expain the problem to them, and hope they can relay it correctly to the mechanic. At this shop you talk to the person at the front desk who is the owner and master mechanic. You describe the problem to him and he'll check out your car--no diagnostic fee :) Because the guy wears many "hats" at his shop you may find yourself waiting a bit, but he's good about giving you his undivided attention when it's your turn. FYI--he doesn't take appointments so just stop by. So back to my car, the clanking sound I heard when braking, as he suspected, was coming from my rear drums. On inspection his guys noticed they were warped and replaced them for approx $138. Keep in mind the dealership quoted me $150 just to diagnose the problem. I suspect they would have charged me betweem 300 to 400 for everything. With the new rear drums the clanking stopped and he even let me test drive it to ensure I was satisfied. Great shop-- I'll def. be back more often for small things I know I would be overcharged doing at the dealership. read more

I've been to TriAuto many times with multiple cars over the past 6 years. Every time I have needed repairs on my Lexus the repairs were done right, at a good price and timely. One time I had a smog sensors replaced and after a few hours the Check Engine light came back on. I took the car back and a vacuum hose needed replacing. It was done at no charge. My dad had work done here before and that is how I came to find out about this shop. I will continue to bring my car here because of the great service and reasonable prices. read more

This shop provided excellent service to my 2007 Lexus ES350. It needed replacement of front and rear strut/spring assemblies. Danny, the owner, did the replacement at a price - lowest compared to three other shops. When I got the car back, i did hear that something was squeaking on rear right wheel. Took it back and Danny and his team diagnosed and fixed the squeaking problem. With the new suspension, the car drives great now. I have a problem with my car. Whenever I drive it to the freeway and hit 60 miles an hours there's a humming sound, first I went to this Ramona tire at Euclid and was told I would pay $150 just to check what's wrong with my car but if they fix it then I don't have to pay for that $150 check up but I didn't buy it so one day I saw this on yelp and all the reviews are good so I went there and the owner if I'm not mistaken was the one who helped me, I told him about the problem and we drove around a few blocks just to hear the humming sound, I told him about the humming sound when it hit 60 miles an hour, he didn't hesitate to hit 60 miles to hear the humming sound and mind you we were on the streets not freeway, then we came back at his shop and he inspect my tire and found out my rare right tire is the problem, he told me to replace it and he moved on to his next client. He did not charge me, I was surprised! This man will go above and beyond just to help you and he went the extra mile to help me. I highly recommend it guys. THANK YOU SIR. read more

My mom has brought her Toyota Matrix to this shop for years and years, so when I bought a used Toyota 4Runner, I figured I should better get it checked out here, by the Toyota, Honda, and Lexus experts. As expected, the 4Runner was in need of some major work, so Danny and his son (also Danny) got everything taken care of and they got it all done QUICK!! They had me back on the road in no time at all, with all new hoses, wires, belts, and fluids. I think aside from oil changes, gas, and wipers, this Toyota is good for another 5+ years! Plus, Danny assured me that - aside from some things not being taken care of at the recommended intervals - this Toyota is CLEAN! I'll handle all my basic needs, like oil changes and tire rotations, but for everything else, Tri Auto is the place! I also want to mention that I'm no mechanical fool and know my way around automobiles (I just don't have all the tools!), and I know that Danny and Danny were up front and honest and more importantly, didn't try to up sell me with any unnecessary work! read more
