I am so glad we called Tri County. When we bought our place, the AC went out 2 days after we moved in. It was an old unit, had been rebuild at least once, and had some problems so it was no surprise when it went out. There was a company name on the thermostat so we called and they came out and gave me the news I was expecting; we needed a new unit. Well, every time they have come out since it was nickel and dime me for something. I eventually got tired of that and after the labor warranty expired I called and set an appointment with Tri County Air. Many of the homeowners in the community where I live praised them and I have to say they earned it. I had originally scheduled an appointment for 2 days from now to get the system checked out. You have to do that at least once a year to keep it under warranty. Well, yesterday the AC wasn't keeping up. The thermostat was set at 72 but it was 76 inside. Today, it was worse, the inside temperature was 79 so I called Tri County and asked if the could come out today. The person I spoke to told me to trip the breaker to cut the power to the unit and after 15 seconds trip it back. Sometimes a reset like that will fix the issue. He explained it may take 15 or 20 minutes for the system to come back on completely so give it some time and call them back if that didn't fix the issue. I thought that was great customer service. Unfortunately that didn't work, so I called them back and they said a tech would come out today. When the tech arrived he brought cookies. How cool. He quickly found the problem, showed me what it was, and the part that was needed (a capacitor) he had on hand. He said the part in these units are made in China but the part he showed me was made in the USA. He said it was better and the price he quoted me was bout $75 less than our previous company quoted me at their last service stop when they told me these capacitors go out after a few years and I should consider replacing it. Funny, how a 12 year warranty doesn't cover everything but oh well. Also, I asked about the UV bulb and if it needed to be replaced. The tech from Tri County Air asked when I replaced it last and I told him last year. He looked and the bulb was a 2 year bulb (they make 1 and 2 year versions) but the previous company was charging me to replace this bulb every year. Bottom line, not only is Tri County Air less expensive but I think they are honest and professional and I will continue to do business with them and hope other homeowners in our community do too. read more

Tri County Air is the best business period! I bought a new York AC unit days before Hurricane Ian. It came through untouched. It seemed to work fine but the next summer it could not keep up with the heat. My old unit had no problem keeping the house at 75 degrees no matter the temperature outside. This brand-new AC could not. Temps were 78 to 79 degrees. As a consequence, the unit was constantly running. My electric bill rose to $80 more a month more even with a rate cut by FPL. I had them look at it but nothing came back as an issue. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed that a brand-new unit was much worse than my old unit. A higher-level technician came out and again could not find anything wrong. They sent different technicians out a couple more time. At this point I gave up. Not really Tri county's fault just a bad AC. But each technician that came out said this should not be happening and York was a good unit. Even though I had given up the techs that came out acted like this was their unit in their home. The were not going to give up and sure enough the field manager, (I think that was who it was), called me and apologized and said they were going to fix the problem even if they had to replace everything in the new unit. A couple more visits to replace one thing at a time and on one visit the tech said the compressor was showing it was working properly but he just didn't like the "sound" of it. So, they replaced the compressor and voilà! It worked properly! They basically replaced everything in the unit and it now cools better than my old unit and my electric bill has gone down. And by the way, even though the unit was out of warranty they did all this at no charge because it never worked right in the first place. No company in 2024 would do this. Their persistence in working this issue along with the technician's attitude of professionalism and looking at this as a challenge was the definition of customer service. I can't recommend them enough. They will do the job and stick to it until it is right and the customer is satisfied. What a refreshing change to find a company with old fashion, real customer service. My ancient 2.5 ton Trane AC decided to retire itself from service this summer. It had served me well. Tri-County had, too. I had an annual service agreement with them for years. Every employee I ever dealt with there was friendly, respectful, and good at what they did. So of course Tri-County was the first company I called for an estimate. I did get estimates from two other highly-rated companies. Tri-County offered what I wanted at the best price. When Scott first came out to assess my home's heating/cooling needs, he was very professional and good-humored. He presented me with several estimates, including one for the Bryant AC unit I eventually selected. He was patient with delays in my decision-making and the scheduling of this job (loooong story). Jerzy, Pedro, and Daniel were the technicians who arrived on time on the much anticipated day (two days, really) this week and removed all the old ductwork and the Trane. It was hard work in cramped quarters and they remained pleasant and professional all the while. They hauled off all of the old material each day and left their workspace tidy. Whenever they entered the house, they dusted off and donned their 'booties.' Jerzy wired up the new digital thermostat, which he made sure I knew how to operate. Along with Pedro and Daniel all new ductwork and the new unit were installed. When they finished, they checked inside the house to make sure everything was working properly -- that air was heating and/or cooling as it should, and flowing freely from the registers. Jerzy explained the inspection process, set up an appointment time, and made sure I didn't have any questions or concerns. So far, so good. I couldn't imagine better service! read more

The service and staff at Tri-County staff are most excellent. When our AC went out on the morning of Memorial Day, my phone message to Tri-County was promptly answered with a text and follow up call from Mike, who confirmed a schedule for a tech to respond that day. Just before noon, Dave Winkler arrived and began to systematically analyze our AC unit. He quickly found the problem to be a failed control unit on the circulating fan. He had a temporary but functional replacement and quickly had our AC back in operation! The next day, we received a follow up call from Tri-County parts desk advising that our motor was still under warranty from the manufacturer, which was great news as the entire fan motor needed to be replaced. On Thursday of the same week, Steven Del-Aguaro, arrived with the new motor and proceeded to change out the temporary parts. The motor replacement was completed in short order and the labor charges were very reasonable. We are so fortunate to have previously contacted Tri-County to check out, clean and service our AC unit. As a result of that routine maintenance work, we became members of Tri-County which provided us with great service at standard labor rates even for the Memorial Day emergency service. We highly recommend Tri-County for all your AC and Heating needs. In our experiences, we have found all of Tri-County employees to be knowledgeable, competent, responsive and extremely pleasant to do business with. They go above and beyond! read more

On March 3, I had your "yearly  Residential Tune-Up" performed as I have done for several years. I was so dissatisfied with the service that I complained and was called by Mike Vickers. The next week I discovered that the tech had left my outdoor water faucet on, and it had been running for 5 days.  I contacted Mr. Vickers and he: "stated that Tri-County would reimburse me for excess water usage if I would provide related documentation."  On April 8, when my water bill arrived, I submitted a copy of the bill as well as the prior months bill and a copy of a letter from Charlotte Co Utilities noting high usage and continuous movement of my water meter.  My prior month usage was 2000 gal. and the cost was $90.55, the monthly water bill in question showed usage of 8,000 gal at a cost of $162.04, a difference of (6000 gal.) $71.49.  Mr Vickers replied in writing stating: "Thank you Jay. I have sent this over to management for review. Someone will be contacting you in the future."  It has now been over 8 weeks and I have not been contacted by your company, and I am out $71.49 due to an error by your employee.  ON June 4th, I again complained on your website via the "Not satisfied with our service? Click the here (sp) to share your experience and receive a response from management".  I clicked, submitted my comments and have yet to receive a "response from management". Sounds like a management philosophy of ignore him and hope he goes away. read more

Wow - I am truly impressed by the service received by Tri County Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. yesterday - September 6, 2016. Truly A+! Thanks to Hurricane Hermine, our AC/Heat pump short circuited the night of Thursday, September 1st. So I had our AC service provider - Modern Services - come to see what the problem was. Their technician insisted the compressor was shot and needed to be replaced to the tune of $2,134. While we haggled over the warranty - we were left in the searing 90+F heat for four days over the Labor Day holiday weekend! Fortunately for us, I asked for a second opinion yesterday on our damaged Maytag AC/heat pump from Tri-County AC & Heating, Inc. They immediately sent me their technician even though I called at 3:00 PM; he arrived at 6:00 PM. In just 30 minutes, their technician Bryan D. was able to get our AC/Heat pump up and running for the modest fee of $180 for labor. Tri-County AC & Heating AC & Heating, Inc. also waived the service call when I provided them with the estimate from Modern Services. I'm happy to report that our AC/Heat pump has been functioning perfectly ever since 7 pm last night! I am cancelling our service agreement with Modern Services right away and signing on with Tri County Air Conditioning & Heating! read more

Very poor customer service. I contacted Tri-County at 8:00 a.m. on 12-15-2014 to schedule repair of heating and a/c. They said they would have a tech out today and he would call when on the way. I called back at 10:30 a.m.,no update from the company as to when the tech would be out. They said again he would be out. 12:00 p.m. No call, no show. So I called to find out what is going on. They said the tech is at Long Boat Key and when he is finished he will be over as I was scheduled next. I called at least 3 more times every 2 hours and same lip service. At 5:00 p.m. I reached the answering service and they said they would pass on information to on call tech. So, it is now 8:00 p.m. and I never received a phone call or never saw a repair tech! Pathetic! I understand things happen, we don't live in a perfect world but some time during this day they could have said it is not going to happen. They could have called and apologized . Nothing. I did do my part in communicating and they have no excuse for not doing the same. So, if you are a working person and you are scheduling with this beware! You might be waiting all day for nothing. My wife and I recently purchased a winter home in the Port Charlotte area and wanted the A/C and heat unit checked. I was interested in three things, a thorough checkup of the A/C, service the system and provide information about the system since all I knew was the system was installed in 2012. Our new neighbor recommended Tri County Air. I called and they scheduled a service appointment. The Service Tech was Darrell Brown. Darrell exceeded my expectations. I would give him and therefore Tri County an A+. I told Darrell my desire to learn about the system, and he insisted that I tag with he so he could explain everything to me. He checked the heat and told me what amperage thresholds were safe and showed me what the reading on my system were. He did the same thing for the cooling system. He painted all areas of the unit that are susceptible to rust or corrosion. I was very impressed. He provided a detailed explanation of what settings I should use when I am up north for the summer and leave a door closed that would block air flow to the cold air return. I had Tri County install a new Bryant A/C in my condo in December 2014 $3626, serviced November 2016 $100, needed service for an odd noise March 2016 on a 15 month old A/C $85. Was advised that the TXV (thermostatic valve) was restricted https://forum.heatinghelp.com/discussion/158092/correct-resolution-copeland-scroll-compressor-rust-inhibitor-tev-txv-sticking Service report indicated a possible Renew treatment...never happened. Remove & replace TXV - part $100, labor $534. You'd think this would be covered by the manufacturer or his representative. I was stuck with a $534 bill on a 15 month old A/C that had an issue caused by the manufacturer and his representative. After numerous conversations with Jeff at Tri County I am at this point of posting a poor review for his company and one of his prodducts. I guess the only satisfication I can get is to advise everyone to stay away from Tri County and Bryant A/C units as neither is willing to stand behind their product. Thank you Jeff for helping to come to an amicable resolution. As I indicated in my original post, I think Bryant should have stepped up. Tri County has replaced two of our three A/C units over time and previously had serviced the old units. They have always been responsive and knowledgeable as you might expect from a large established company. I never felt undue sales pressure from Geoff Struble but appreciated his suggestions for improvements to our dated system which have borne true. Andrew did our last service for the three units and was helpful and a delight. We have, since that visit, had some unrelated issues with the second floor unit and musty smells from the remaining unreplaced unit in our master. Kurt Richard to the rescue! He worked diligently on the thermostat/air handler issue by himself before relenting to bringing a second tech to work both inside and out simultaneously to facilitate diagnosis. It worked and they resolved the issue. Just the other day Kurt was back to investigate the musty smell in the Master. After a thorough check of the system to rule out other causes, he installed a Halo-LED unit to help with the long run between the garage based unit and the master bedroom. It took less than a couple of hours for the problem to clear and the air now smells spring fresh. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Tri County Air was a great technician. I would recommend him Anytime not very knowledgeable but a leader in this community and with the company he comes with a great smile, honesty and integrity. I feel completely comfortable with leaving him alone in our house letting him work on the outside and inside unit we bought a brand-new unit and he was setting it up. And I would use him 100% again, thank you your knowledge and your expertise in the business. It's not about a job it's helping and serving our community to understand it's important to have a important to have service all through the and to upgrade and to maintain your system and I believe 100% in repeat business and helping other businesses grow to get more customers to learn that we need one another and we need the loyalty of a company that totally believes in repeat business and customer service one customer at a time. It's been a rough few weeks, my big AC unit was on the blink, called Tri County and they sent Brandon out in the dark. He did what he could, and then was okay for five days and down again. I didn't call T.C. as I was having yearly service on all three units in 3 days. Monday came and Brady arrived and tried FIX the down unit, and said it was time to think about a new unit but he could fix it but the parts and labor would be about half of a new unit and the unit was 14 yrs old. I decided on a new unit, that same afternoon Tyler showed up, what a great guy, going to bat for me to work on estimates and final price. The next morning got the estimates, chose the unit nearest to what mine was, and Tyler was able to knock off 700.00 and that blessed my heart. Two days later, which is today, Jeremy & Joseph showed up, worked all day and I am now enjoying my NEW unit. I read the reviews and even went on Angie's list, I do not know it this man is a fair representation of the whole company but I would never recommend them or have them back out. Not only were they expensive at $99.00 for a half hour which by the way was all this guy was willing to do anything. The majority of the time spent here was, asking me to repeat what I had already told him, then telling me that it is what it is with what you own, he was a condescending jerk who did nothing but use his meter air reader and stand out side and use the same reader then went to his truck to calculate the total up to tell me it is what it is,he said " I have more to say but the half hour is up so please call and have us back out I can share what I think will help I have more to say but again my time is up" Please calls us for any thing else you may need. I just shut the door and let him walk away, he also showed up 1 hr past the time he called me to tell me he would be here. It is a Mitsubishi mini split. not some cheap thing btw read more

Tri County came to my home because of water dripping from my secondary/backup drain pan onto my garage floor. Tri County came out and diagnosed the problem very quickly and gave me a price on the cost to fix a cracked drain pan inside the unit. The original price quoted ended up being approximately $150 more because they said the part was not under warranty. The initial technician stated the part was under warranty. The explanation given was that we were not the original owners and we did not send in a change of ownership. They then came out with the wrong part which caused the repair to be delayed a couple of days. They then came out with the right part and completed the repair. The technicians were very polite and professional. In addition once they left everything was cleaned and you would have not known that they had been to my home. I have used Tri County since I bought my home in 2018 and found them to be very professional, honest and dependable. read more

5 stars. High 5's and kudos all around. From first contact until the repair was completed. Air conditioner wasn't working after hurricane Milton. First company that came out spent a lousy 20 minutes and didn't offer any solution except a $3k repair that may or may not solve the problem but urged us to replace the entire system for $11k. Wanted a second opinion. TriCounty came put, spent almost 3 hours looking at every aspect of thermostat, air handler and heat pump. Discovered burnt wires in heat pump probably due to a storm related power surge. Angel, the tech, got us up and running and cool right away with a temporary wiring solution . Cory and Dillon came back today to do the permanent rewire. Total cost for 2 visits was almost 10 grand less than the upsell from the other company. Everybody I dealt with at TriCounty was extremely pleasant. All 3 techs were diligent and skilled. This is an honest and very competent company. I highly recommend them read more

Approaching 20 years of consistent, excellent expertise, and rapid responses for unscheduled repairs it was time to say thanks to this essential service rendered by Tri County. Living here requires AC for comfort at the least, survival on blistering, sunny Summer days & sultry still nights. Aging, medical issues, and even medicines make air condition a priority that fans, open verandas and porch doors & windows on the corner rooms do not get the job done like Tri County's staff & it's appliances they sold us & installed. Such promises made and kept are truly a blessing much appreciated. While installing a new HVAC their staff was OUTSTANDING in innovations to cope with replacing a new unit in a TINY condo closet shared with the water heater. They were masterful & resilient in solving challenge after challenge. Never frustrated, always calm, they'd confer & discuss options. When I began shopping for the changeout of my old air conditioner I was certain I knew what i was looking for. When Tri County sent their comfort advisor to advise me on what I truly wanted/needed I was blown away. My comfort advisor was an installer before a salesman and that gave me great piece of mind as I believe he was truly in tune with my A/C needs. I was looking for the utmost in quality in my installation. Boy did I get it! Tri County installers relocated my Air handler from the attic to the garage as this was best to get the required size ductwork into my attic. I was also informed vertically installed units drain better than horizontally installed units and clogged drain lines plagued me before. I also opted for a Upgraded filter and UV lights to protect my system and home from pollutants. I ended up purchasing a higher end unit that has given soooo much added value with the lower electrical costs. I am so glad I went with Tri County. read more

In cold Florida it's tough when your heat doesn't work, so on my good friend's recommendation I called Tri County. Two days before Christmas and of course expecting the worst I was pleasantly surprised. First a very courteous gentleman took my call and professionally and with no nonsense set up my appointment and told me how the connection would work. Next the AC Tech called to tell me his ETA and showed Up as promised. Nayland wasted no time getting into the unit and very quickly got to the bottom of the situation and after a few more tests cured the issue and buttoned up the unit. We then went inside and checked airflow and discussed annual maintenance agreements which sounded promising. We finally got to the scary part and I was very surprised that the bill was reasonable. All in All this has been the most pleasant experience that I have had with any kind of service company in the ten years I've lived here. Kudos to the crew at Tri-County. read more

Ruslan was fantastic. Your whole organization was great. My air blower went out after hours on a Thursday and Lee came out and managed to get it started even though we needed a new motor. I received a call Friday morning quoting a price and confirming we wanted the motor ordered. Unfortunately the blower motor completely died on Saturday and we were without A/C. Monday I received a call at 1:30 pm that the new motor had now arrived and asked about setting up an appointment. I laughed and said now because we were without air altogether. The gentleman said "let me see what I can do to get you taken care of" He came back a minute later and said the tech would be by my house about 4 to take care of me. Sure enough at just about 4 Ruslan showed up went right to work and had me up and running in about an hour. This was not the first time I have had the pleasure of having Ruslan. He is friendly efficient and professional. read more
