Eeks - I've been coming here a long time and appreciate that they are open late night but... $15…read morefor my typical chicken quesadilla is what she just charged me - 1am Saturday night. That's steep! Then when I went to take my food, they questioned whether I'd paid. I'd had to return to my car because they were only accepting cash and then I had to recount that I'd given her two 5s and five 1s in bills. I wasn't familiar with those workers and I do understand I'm a gringa but, really weird visit. It may be time to start trying other options. Might see ya here.

I also ordered sour cream added to each item and even ordered an extra sour cream somehow. I received an Asada burrito, which was not a super and no sour cream whatsoever (was missing sour cream, cheese, and avocado ). The charge for sour cream was $6 and a regular burrito is $14. I paid $18 for a super and got a regular. So besides the $10 extra for nothing I paid for, the tortillas on both burritos were very overcooked and the burritos themselves were dry. It would've been very different if I would've ordered when I wasn't working all night and can't leave to point out what was wrong, but I was at work working night shift at the hospital and got these terrible burritos. This was just plain mean and showed the poor quality of workers. Here is a receipt of my purchase, a picture of what I got and a picture of the description of what a super burrito should be.

Oh gosh, put a fork in me. It was so fabulous!!…read more It's always hard to find really good barbecue out west. But this place does. Succulent pulled pork, outstanding, tender, tri-tip, the cornbread was unbelievably wonderful, great mac & cheese, and brussels sprouts were really good. I love the selection of barbecue sauces, and yes, the Alabama hot is good on the brussels sprouts! Service was quick and friendly, and the price was wonderful, especially considering how much food we got. Five stars and five thumbs up.

We ordered a two meat plate (brisket & jalapeño cheddar sausage) with two sides: loaded baked potato and bbq beans. Hubby is a bbq connoisseur and felt that the brisket was a bit overcooked, needed more rub but the cut and fat were on point. The sausage was tasty and the beans were out of this world. The potato was a good size filled with the works. The main downfall: the food needed to be hotter, it was barely warm. The cheese on the potato wasn't melted and the beans were literally cold. The pickled onions and pickles were a welcome addition along with the Texas toast. One pet peeve I have is observing cooks eating & drinking coke with their bare hands while serving up plates. This practice is okay at home but not in a restaurant. The Smoke Point BBQ is a charming establishment near Mission San Juan Bautista. It's a good little place to stop in for some homemade grub.
