Transformational! One hour with Keith changed my health so much that I've waited weeks to make sure this was real before writing a review. As a kid I broke my R tibia, & over 60+ years I slowly got more & more lopsided without realizing it. Keith is someone who genuinely cares about helping the people who walk through his door. On top of that he is curious, trying to figure out what brought you to him and how to fix it. I have been battling pain for over a year and a half related to whiplash. On my first visit when he was doing the evaluation, having me bend, I could tell me neck was twisting to the side even though I was bending straight forward...creepy. Also terrible that no one else ever checked this, hello! It makes sense to me, you may be fine static but when moving have issues. I felt a lot better after the first visit although the pain crept back in and I went for a touch up after a month. The first visit there were at least three spots he had to adjust and on the second visit only one. Also, he only charged me for a half hour visit on the second follow up because it was less time. Keith is a genius! This review is loooong overdue, as earlier this year I began experiencing terrible pain which I self diagnosed as being sciatic nerve (sciatica) related. I read many a glowing review for Tri Valley, so I gave them a ring and described my problem. Right away I detected a cool, calm, confidence in Keith/Susan's responses. Sort of like when you describe a noise in your car to a mechanic, that "oh yeah we've fixed that 1000 times" response that automatically has you feeling more at ease. So I booked an appointment and got myself in there ASAP. Keith asked me a number of lifestyle questions while instructing and stretching me in the proper places. I've never seen my limbs bend in some of the directions they went in before! To quote one Mr Mellencamp, it hurt so good! Keith then accurately noted that I clearly was not much for stretching during my regular workout routines. He said I was the least flexible person he had seen (early 30s with the flexibility of a 55 year old!) and he customized a foam roller and stretching routine for me. I will be the first to admit I suck at making myself do this sort of thing diligently, but I did the stretches often enough that within a few weeks, I was back to running/jumping and sitting with reckless abandon! Tri Valley prides themselves in what they refer to as "one and done" visits. This is like the anti-mantra for a chiropractor; most places want to hook you and keep bringing you back and charging. If I could give Keith 100 stars, I would. I have seen him 3 times now, each time for a different injury/pain. Most my most recent visit was regarding my wrist. I injured my left wrist completing the Tough Mudder in Sept. of this year (about 2 months ago). I initially thought it was a sprain, let it rest and thought nothing of it. 10 days later, as the pain had gotten worse, I decided it was time to see someone. I went to the minor injury @ Kaiser Pleasanton. (Mistake #1). Upon inspection of my wrist (and a "clear" x-ray), the doctor said that I had tendinitis and I needed to be in a cast. He put me in a cast for three weeks, all but completely immobilizing my wrist. (Mistake #2). During that time, the pain in my wrist increased, along with the inflammation, and I developed new, wonderful limitations in my mobility. My friend, who is studying to be a nurse, told me that the worst possible thing for an injury of that nature is to immobilize it. She told me to get rid of the cast and start a stretching regiment. After a week and a half of stretching, icing and NO weight-baring movements or exercising, my wrist started to feel a bit better (but it still wasn't right). FINALLY, I scheduled an appointment with Keith Ortiz, who had worked miracles on my hips and lower vertebrae in previous visits. Today I woke up with the same throbbing pain that I had begun to get accustomed to and drove over to his office in Dublin. Within a few minutes he determines that, along with my tendinitis, I have a dislocated wrist (way to go, Kaiser). He then proceeded to bend and massage and tweak and rub and stretch and pull for about 5 minutes. I had also been having some pain in my butt when I run and walk up or down stairs. He remembered that I had pelvic girdle/hip issues in the past and began to inspect the levels/positioning of my hips. After positioning my body into various positions and then having my exert energy where he tells me to, I felt a low *pop* and a huge sense of relief that I didn't even know I needed. He continued to work on the muscles around the affected area, stretching and massaging them to encourage the newly-aligned bone to stay in alignment. After a total of 25 minutes (Yeah, 25 minutes), I walk out of his office with a wrist that I can bend without crying, legs that can run, and set of exercises and stretches to ensure that they stay that way. In other words, I trust Keith Ortiz more than any other chiropractor, physical therapist, sports therapist, doctor, etc. Next time, i will save myself the pain and trouble and go see Mr. Ortiz FIRST. He is nothing short of miraculous when it comes to working with chronic pain and inflammation in the body - back pain, neck pain, joint pain - you name it, he's the wizard you need to see. In the San Ramon Valley area of California (Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Walnut Creek) when I hear people complaining of back pain, joint pain, neck pack, chronic inflammation - well, body pain and suffering - I don't hesitate to recommend Keith Ortiz at Tri-Valley Bodyworks to them. Why? I had chronic back pain of some kind that I suffered for a year or so with. That was 3 years ago. Today? Honestly I can't remember the specific pain and ailment I was having. I know it was low back and involved bouts of sciatica, but I cannot remember the experience of the pain and suffering - my mind and my body seem to have let it go, even the memory traces seem to be gone gone. I cannot say enough about Keith. I started seeing him back in 2003 after a horrid car accident, where I had to take a summer off of grad school and move back home. I tried EVERYTHING. Painkillers, massage, Rolfing, Chiropractors (who made me feel even worse). Towards the end of the summer I could barely walk and felt hopeless. Fortunately, my massage therapist introduced me to Keith. His quiet calmness instantly made me feel at ease and I had an intuition that he would heal me. Keith Ortiz is a an amazing professional In a matter of two weeks, he has alleviated my severe inflamed sciatic nerve. Keith's initial consultation was about half the price, one third the time, and orders of magnitude more effective than I had expected. After spending a non-negligible portion of the last two weeks in pain and on trips to a really nice physician who prescribed medications, a heating pad, referred me to SF general for x-rays, acupuncture therapists, and hot cupping, going to Dublin to see Keith was by far the best use of my time and money (of the others, the heating pad helped the most). More important than time and money, however, is that I came away from Keith feeling not just better aligned and more flexible than 30 minutes before but with an understanding of my own anatomy and a morning stretching routine that I felt great about and that feels great. I have a rare bone disorder that is pretty painful on occasion. Due to this, my bones are incredibly fragile, so no way would I go to a chiropractor. The big problem is that I have severe scoliosis, which causes the muscle pain. I have had physical therapists and tried rolfing as well for years. Stop the pain! Call Keith. I have been seeing Keith for over five years now with tremendous results. Before seeing Keith, I was seeing a chiropractor and a massage therapist every couple weeks. After a couple weeks, I was back again for the same adjustment or treatment because the same pain would return. The crazy thing is, I did that for 29 years before I met Keith. After my first appointment with Keith, I could tell something was different. My neck and my upper back felt so relieved with the muscles relaxed. I made an account just to leave a review for Keith. A little background: I had what I'll call the "never-ending injury." One broken bone turned into another, and before I knew it I was unable to walk without pain. The broken bones healed, but the pain never stopped. I went through multiple doctors, physical therapists, massage therapists, etc... Finally, a medical professional who shall not be named (ahem, someone from Kaiser) determined my pain was "chronic," likely something I'd need to live with forever (since a neurologist had determined my nerves were in fine working order). Keith is simply AMAZING! After suffering from Piriformis pain for over two years, which led to other aches, I was sure nothing would help me recover to a pain free life. As a survivor of severe sepsis, my leg muscles were greatly impacted, as well as my joints. I did need to get both hips replaced as a result. I've been struggling with pretty substantial pain in my right hip for a couple months now. Since I was told by my orthopedic surgeon to stretch every day and it never seemed to get better, I decided to make an appointment with Keith. I realized I was walking crooked and as soon as I walked into Keith's treatment room, he commented how obvious it was that things were out of proper alignment. He takes a quick look at my back, sees how out of whack it was and immediately found the painful spot. He took the time to fully explain what was happening to my gait and why the pain was there. Its incredible how he hones right into the source of malfunction and pain. Honestly, my muscles were in a tight and painful spasm and though the treatment was uncomfortable at times, it happened to work magic for me. I walked in one minute in pain and 'bent', left an hour later being able to walk like normal. I feel about 80-85% better already and I suspect that tomorrow will be even better. As a side-note, my sepsis impacted my feet, my right one has substantial foot-drop issues that I've been trying to work through with some success...only a little bit. When Keith examined my foot, he throughout explained what was happening in the foot mechanically. Gave me some treatment on the foot and leg, gave me some exercises I can do at home to continue with the recovery. The best part about the foot and leg issue is that now I know that the current condition is fixable! I wish I'd received that type of news from my surgeon and the physical therapist. The massage is comparable with other decent massages that you can get across town. However there is the issue that this particular place can charge not only 1.5-3 times the other massage places but also vary the price of the massage every time you go! The place doesn't have a price chart or a clear prove policy. So you could be charged $100 for a 45 minute massage or $150 for the same massage based on no particular reason or promotion. The place, it's ambience and service could improve - it's too bright and not cozy. Plus there is no water or any drink offered post massage. Not convincing, not ethical and not compelling enough for the varying exorbitant prices without a rationale. read more

I was referred to Keith by a friend who I was complaining to about the pain and lack of movement in my arm and sholder. I couldnt lift my arm over my head. I was taking ibuprofin to during the day and to sleep with the pain, but it just kept getting worse. I was finally ready to do something about it. My friend said Keith was the best. I went to him and he solved my problem and explained what was happening in the first visit. I was pain free and had the full movement back in my arm/sholder. I went to Keith for the first time today on a referral from a friend. Oh thank you my friend! I have been suffering from a siatic nerve problem in my left leg on and off for about five years now. I've been to a multitude of chiropractors and various doctors for this problem and had little relief. Keith was very thourough in explaining what was going on in my body to make me so uncomfortable, and what he needed to do to fix it. And fix it he did! It was not worth it! He charged me 150 dollars for practically nothing, to tell me they cant do much until the fracture heals. Only if he would have said that earlier, I would have saved both money and time. He also misdiagnosed my wrist pain, which was a simple inflammation to mispositioning of small bones.
