I am easy to please when it comes to driving ranges - this spot is unassuming and casual. They have plenty of slots with grass to hit from and mats with shade. I don't typically like hitting off mats so I can't speak on those but the grass is good most of the time, sometimes it is too patchy to hit comfortably. Staff is super nice! There's typically only one person working so if they're not in the store, they are out on the range collecting balls, be patient with them. They have some loner clubs for travelers or people like myself who had their clubs stolen :( lol They're crappy but nice that they offer them! They also have a small selection of local brews to sip on. Buckets are inexpensive! A huge bucket is only $14. I love that you can just go to the ball dispenser and get your own stuff without talking to anyone. It takes card & apple pay!

    Practice time for tomorrow.

Used to be my go to spot to practice until Pleasanton Golf Center became my preferred spot. Balls are a bit old and unwashed...My hybrid face got scratched. Limited stalls for mat hitters who don't want to hit on uneven turf. Has seen better days but is still a good location to hit balls. The owners should up the game a little.

Grass range all the time, chipping and putting, plus a bunker to practice. For a muni driving range it has everything you need.

Conditions have been bad over the past year I have been stopping by here. Rarely ever hitting on grass, mostly hitting on dirt and weeds.

Low key and a good, standard driving range. Prices are fair and make sure to bring your own rubber tee or buy one for 2.

Pros:Extremely friendly gents in the pro shop - very accommodating for rental set needs and getting us into the course impromptu. I am from out of state, and was delighted at the quality and smoothness of the greens. To me, putting quality is the single biggest dealbreaker to me regarding course review. I was so appreciative of how well they were taken care of. Cons: I think most of the water and effort is spent on maintaining the greens, at the cost of the fairways and tee boxes. I think they're trying to get ahold of where to water, as some locations had standing water, whereas others were more barren. And in true WestCoast Fashion, I found myself losing my ball merely feet off the fairway from some of the longer rough - what a surprise! Many overgrown rough patches, whereas others are absent. My only critique (not just on this course) is tee boxes that are clearly not level. At least on grass mounds that have flat surfaces, it would make sense to place the markers there, opposed to 75% of the ones today forcing me to choose between the ball well above or below my feet. Overall I enjoyed the course, loved the staff and greens, and would recommend it, especially for the price. It's no more than $30 to walk 9-18 in the afternoons and it's worth the price.

Beautiful course and a fantastic practice facility. Having visited regularly prior to the remodel,…read moreI love almost everything they did to improve the overall player experience. However, I do have two quick pieces of feedback: 1) I wish the prices were a bit more affordable. While a slight price increase after a remodel is understandable, dropping them just a bit would make the course much more approachable for regulars. 2) I had an uncomfortable encounter while practicing recently. A staff member approached me to say there was a 10-ball limit on the chipping green. When I told him I wasn't aware and asked if I had missed a rule post, he pointed to a sign between the range and the green that read, "Don't remove range balls from the range" and said "That sign clearly says the rules." Then he counted the 15 (personal) balls I brought and said "you're over the limit." I was caught off-guard by his tone, and left feeling frustrated by that experience. If there is a strict ball limit for personal property on the chipping green, it should be clearly published somewhere. That would be my suggestion so others do not encounter a similar experience.

Attitude and arrogance throughout the experience!…read more Course data is not updated for GPS and when I called it out I was told (with attitude) that I needed to re-download the course to my watch which is just flat out wrong! They need to update it in the feeder systems. It's cloud-based. No ball washers on the course. When I gave them the feedback, again with attitude I was told it would ruin the course aesthetics. Hmm... Well... Get the cart mounted ball washers then! Carts are super sensitive to geo-fence and threaten to shut off WAY too easily barely near the rough which is basically weeds. Course layout feels very cramped with many holes near and crossing making it difficult to even determine where to play to unless you're experienced with the course. Many tee boxes were considerable distance from the cart path making it annoying to get to and re-club if needed. Couldn't use the complete facilities because they were preparing for a reception and we kept getting asked by multiple staff where we were going and what we were doing when we were just trying to get a drink and sit for a bit after the round. No regard! If the full facilities are not open to paying golfers we should get a discount. 1-star because they have a turf driving range which is nice. NEVER again though!

Whoa, totally surprised I haven't reviewed this course yet. A lot has to do with I haven't played…read morehere in over 20 years. But in my first 5-7 years on taking up the game (95'-02'ish), we played here often, as this is a great course to learn on for several reasons. 1) It is only 9 holes, so you don't have to commit to a long 5-hour round on a big course. And when one is a beginner, 18 holes can be grueling. 2) The course is wide open, lots of room to err, without much penalty areas. Now there are areas you have to watch out for, but still much more generous than most other courses. 3) Lots of other not-so-good golfers here. So even if you suck, you won't really be holding up snooty better golfers, who will often press your pace. So be prepared for a slower round here, can't be in hurry here. 4) Cheaper green fees. Currently in 2026 it was $20 to walk on a weekday morning. Not sure what it is on weekends. It doesn't get any cheaper to play, especially out here in the Bay Area. Now for better players, this is still not a bad place to practice and hone your short game. I took my regular Monday crew here, as 1 of them had never been, and the other golf mate hadn't been in a long time, just like me. And we had a great time. For a 9 holer, there are 3 short par 4s. The rest are par 3s and they are really not that easy. Some of them are longer like 170+ yards, and almost all the greens are bowled/raised so it looks like a turtles hump. So a little tougher on getting your ball to stick to your target. You'll be doing a lot of chipping and pitching, which is all great practice for your short game. This course is in the middle of horse racetrack, at the Alameda Co. Fairgrounds. Great way to make use of otherwise dead space. Now when the fair is going on during the summer, I'm sure this course will close down. But the rest of the year, it is open. There is also a driving range/practice facility. But haven't used those yet. Locals seem to use it. And since it is inside the racetrack, in order to get inside, you'll have to drive under a one way tunnel. Which used to be scary back in the day, as you had to honk to warn the other direction that you were going through. Now there is a traffic light that directs traffic, which eliminates guessing and having to back up inside a tunnel. A nice course that has stood the test of time and is still serving a very specific purpose...to teach and prep newer golfers by providing a relaxed and beginner friendly environment. To that I gotta give props.
